I really don't think you represent yourself well.

You sound extremely defensive and overly sensitive. And no, I'm not a recruiter; just an MT who went to business college. You are the one who sounds unprofessional to me.

They are NOT what they represent
themselves to be. Bonuses do not exist, raises do not exist. They offer bonuses for more lines because you struggle to even make quota with the DQS, let alone make extra lines. Been with them for 8 years. I would certainly explore other options.
AAMT does not represent us
AAMT does not represent us. Let me be the first to admit that I haven't had an issue with the offshoring deal...but I completely agree that AAMT does nothing. AAMT is nothing more than a big annual social event where a bunch of old fat chicks can walk around making sure everyone knows their names, arguing over copyrights..(oh wait..I crapped, make sure my name is on that!)... I am fed up with AAMT myself, and I think I am going to cancel my membership, as well. The dues are too high for this organization that does nothing. Funny thing about it is, with the employer of the year thing, some of the companies actually have a VP or someone who is self-absorbed and self-important and thinks they are an AAMT goddess to email employees and insist that they nominate the company for employer of the year. I have seen this happen personally, and you are pressured if you don't participate...made to feel like an outsider, not a team player. All because this VP or whoever just wants to be able to get up and make a speech and make sure everyone remembers their name. LOL IT IS PATHETIC.
I really wouldn't recommend it. They represent
the same companies that post jobs here anyway. It would just be one more interview to take, one more test to take. They usually only represent a couple of companies and of course they get paid for everyone that is hired through them so I don't feel they have my best interests in mind. They are going to try to sell me on whatever company they represent.
Post your resume on the job boards. I have been offered several jobs with companies who do not post help wanted ads. Most of them were small MTSO who didn't pay worth a flip, but I have also had some very good offers, at least good in comparison to what a lot of companies pay now.
AAMT whatever it is now called DOES NOT represent American MTs sm
and has not in a very long time. They promote either actively or passively, sending our jobs offshore. It is high time they changed their name from AMERICAN Association of Medical Transcriptionists because let me tell you, they do not, in any way, shape or form, represent MY interests in this industry.
Whatever they call themselves now, it doesn't matter...I consider the whole organization a sick joke.
