I passed the MQ test with flying colors putting 2 spaces

after a period, so I don't think that's why you failed.
I've ALWAYS put 2 spaces. That's how we were trained, and that's always been the correct way to type a document. I'm so sick of the BOS's bull, though the company I'm with now follows BOS, but we all put 2 spaces still.

I took it and passed with flying colors
and it was not worth my time for what they are offering - to anyone who had not taken it - my advice is DON'T.
Well, after all that, I passed the test! nm

I passed the test...
but it did take 4 months to be notified. I just kept in contact with them until I was finally notified of the results. Candace, the contact person, was always very nice about keeping me informed of the status. Unfortunately, by the time they sent me a contract, I was already gainfully employed. I do think they would be great to work for; they sent me a list of contracts with the compensation amounts and the pay would have been fabulous! I do wish I could have worked with them, but I found myself needing benefits. I just think they have high expections for their employees, as they should. If you ever get the chance to try again, I certainly think you would not regret it. For people who are anxiously awaiting results, it takes this company quite a while to notify you. It also may take a while between finding out that you passed and getting your contract. It has always been this way with them for whatever reason, and it may just help them weed out candidates even further, depending on what type of attitudes people have when inquiring about their results. If at all possible, it is best to just check in from time to time and wait patiently. If you are successful, you will certainly be rewarded in the end. Hope this helps someone!
passed RAD test...
Was called the next day with info about an upcoming RAD account the following month. When that month came, I took the time to follow up with the RAD account. Was set up for an interview. Had interview. Recruiter Amanda thanked me for interview through email, gave me a couple things to look at, and said to contact her if I had any questions. She unprofessionlly did not respond even after 3 emails. Nice impression about company communication she gave me, yes she did.
A lot of MTs on here never passed their test
and these were MT's with years of experience. I think the Focus test is rigged. I didn't pass the test either and I didn't have any problems with the test recordings.
I think they do it as a loss leader. That way they can justify giving the work to ILPs instead of the US labor pool, since they can claim that the US labor pool doesn't pass their testing requirements.
i passed the RAD test...
A couple of months ago and was told I would hear from them soon. Two ads came up since then so I requested an interview both times. After the second request, a call came in at 3 AM my time when I was asleep. When I listened to the message, the person asked me to call her. BUT when I Read the email from her, she made it sound like my butt should've been expecting her call. Maybe even drop whatever I'm doing?? Oh no no no!!
I passed test and started very next day
It was a 50 question transcription test on their website. Open book and not timed. I think I missed one. Recruiter called, verified employment and I started the very next day. That was three months ago and so far so good. Medware has been keeping me busy and I especially like the direct deposit every other Friday. The bonus of an extra 1/2 cpl for 6000/week gives me $60 more for my mad money every pay, but that usually goes for groceries.
Then why when I applied and passed the test
That is most definitely bait and switch. I had a phone interview with a recruiter and a barking dog in the background and her having to let the dog out... need I say more? This was the recruiter. Very unprofessional. My reason for leaving the other job should have been asked on the first interview, not as an after thought to bother me again and to tell me they have no work after it was posted, I applied, I tested......... on and on. Huge waste of my valuable time. The dog having to be let out was a hold on a minute and the phone got put down while the dog got let out. BAIT AND SWITCH! I call it like I see it. If they called and offered me 17 cpl I wouldn't work for them. I do hear they hire new grads, which is great. Keep up that good work on their part giving new grads a chance.
Yes I did test, passed and they offered me
Keystrokes is full of promises, promises, promises and they very seldom come forth with their promises. Don't hold your breath!!
I passed their test, but now I'm put into their "pool"
I took the time to take a long test and passed, originally said I wanted part-time, and when I got my results back, I get the, well, we're only focusing on hiring full-time right now, so I say I would love to try full-time, then they tell me I am now in the pool. Come on, people, I am sitting here day in and day out looking for work, I can work right now, give me a job, already! I think being put in the pool means, sorry we don't want you right now:( I'm just so tired of taking all these tests and I do great and then then don't want to hire to me, what the?!
Took their test and passed, then failed
I took their test about one year ago, passed it and was offered a job. However, the job training would not start for another 6-8 weeks, so I declined it because I needed to find employment then, not 6-8 weeks from then. Anyway, approximately six months later I retested to reapply and was then told I did not pass the test the second time. It isn't even a difficult test. If anyone figures out what they actually do want, please come back here and post it.
To the person who asked why people keep asking about Focus: Things and people change and there are always new people entering the market as well as policy changes in every industry. Asking about Focus or any other company periodically is certainly a legitamate inquiry. You don't have to answer if you don't want to.
I passed the test without a problem.
I just took my time and made sure I referenced everything.
I recently took the test and passed.
I passed the test and accepted a position
and have been quite happy with Medware. My old service paid by way of snail mail, so now having direct deposit has been a big plus for me. I like my team leader and using EXText has kept my line counts high. I also have their insurance plan, it's United Healthcare and my family doc is on that plan. Overall, I hope to stay with Medware as they really seem to care about me. I also like the monthly newsletter they send out, it's the little things that set them apart from my old service. Good luck to you.
It took nearly a month after I passed the test before I started with Diskriter! SM
I was referred by a friend. I spoke with the HR person, took the test, and was told I passed with flying colors. I was told that a job offer was merely a formality and that I should go ahead and give two weeks notice at my other job which I did. I then waited a week before I actually got an official job offer. Then I was sent the paperwork. It was unbelievable! I had to have a physical exam by my physician and have him fill out their questionaire. I had to find a drug testting facility on my own and do a drug test. I had to have a TB test AND they wanted a chest x-ray as part of my physical exam. Then there was the background check and reference check. You would have thought I was going to work for the CIA and required high security clearance or something. Then I was told there was a problem with my references. They had asked me for two professional and two personal references which I gave them. They called my personal references and asked them if I was a good Transcriptionist and a good employee. Diskriter told me that none of my references were valid because no one had actually worked with me. Then I had to clarify that they had called my personal references and if they would simply call the professional references, the would get the answers they were looking for! It took them three more days to get it straight.
Finally, I was so fed up, I told them I refused to get a chest x-ray and I thought all of this was insane for a simple at-home job. I was so upset because I had gone two weeks without earning any kind of paycheck while I waited for them to check how frequently I go to the bathroom! I felt like a show dog jumping through every single hoop for a job that ended up being not worth it at all.
I feel for ya and all I can say is they weren't a bad company to work for, I just had an incompetent supervisor with very poor communicating skills.
Good luck!
If you have not passed the ortho test in the past 30 days and want to sm
know your errors, please email KeystrokesHR@aol.com and ask for the results. We have re-evaluated the procedure that we have had for the past 5 years and agree that this can be sent to those requesting the results. The test is harder than it seems; the coordinator is looking for very specific things and requires 100% to hire someone. Please send an email requesting this and we will get it to you right away.
Passed their test, had 2nd interview yesterday. Today,
this is the response I received via e-mail.
Thank you very much for taking the time to speak with me yesterday about employment opportunities at MD-IT. Unfortunately, your attributes as a Transcriptionist do not meet our needs.
What attributes are they looking for, I ask? Worked for same company for years, 99.5% QA score every quarter, always working on time every day, team player.
I didn't like the 2nd interview, knew it was not going well. The questions asked were phony psychological garbage, and no matter your experience and how well you tested, everyone starts on their tier system at 0.075 cpl...slave wages.
I had already decided overnight I would not go to work for them even if offered, so I feel I have been blessed today and kept from making a huge mistake in working for a company that devalues you before you even walk through the door.
Hallelujah! Be joyful fellow MT. There are better companies out there than this one.
I was told I passed the test and they wanted to hire me then...sm
they called me the next day and said they were on a hiring freeze and my name would be put on the waiting list. I have accepted another position as I don't have time to just wait on a list. I have bills to pay and mouths to feed.
Yep, I applied there, took test, passed it, and I was to be contacted, but never heard a thing from
nm
I agree; I studied for and passed the test. I can't do Ops to save my life. sm
Meanwhile, my supervisor who is an oustanding MT and encyclopedia of knowledge couldn't pass part I of the test. It's not a sufficient test in that it doesn't test what we truly need to know to be excellent MTs.
I applied at Webmedx, took test, passed, and they said no to my part-time schedule.
Maybe call and ask before you waste your time like I did.
I just heard back that I passed the test and they asked when it was convenient to contact me by phon
nm
If you have work at TT, which is doubtful, without putting in MANY extra hours and NOT putting
the correct number of hours on your timesheet -- that is stealing work from the other MT's ! Also you are giving false information on your timesheet, which TT will eventually get into trouble for allowing you to do -- just like the Q got into trouble!
You are obviously taking the only halfway decent dictators from other MT's. Makes me sick that the leads/supes/mgmt-type people transcribe and take the cream of the crop from the MT's ! That should NOT BE ALLOWED by TT mgmt AT ALL !! !
It is DEFINITELY going on tho. TT management, you need to STOP this practice and share the fairly decent dictators with EVERYONE !
When I was hired on a number of years ago, I was told that TT had 35% ESL's. What a JOKE and untruth !
I am glad for you if the flying monkeys
really did leave. I am hoping so because they were the reason I left (they caused my problems). I am glad for you!!
Which flying monkeys would they be? Initials are fine.

Is this a SOM hospital? I am worried myself. Rumors flying. nm

proveros true colors
Guys, 42, 41, 30 days who cares. Can you see the attitude of the chick who keeps saying stuff is DEFAMATORY...can you imagine dealing with a person like this on a day to day basis and and then again when you DON'T get paid even after 100 days. Bottom line...they don't pay. Avoid this crazy Indian owned company.
And you guys R showing everybody YOUR true colors!
What a spiteful bunch U are! Jeez, Louise.
I will take one with a skirt, preferably spring colors. nm
nm
I hope they keep posting. They're showing everyone their true colors. :) nm

Usually a spelling test, a punctuation test, and maybe 3-6 test files to do. Sometimes done using
s
I think most places pay for spaces. I work for TransTech and they pay for both spaces
as well as punctuation. I would never work for an MTSO that doesn't.
they could fix that by putting a sm
minimum line count per month in your contract. The problem with that is, if they run out of work, then you could hold THEM to the line count minimum. I have had companies tell me that it was not cost effective to let ICs work without a line count minimum. That is why, years ago, companies started doing the statutory employee category. SE status gives them more legal control but for the SE the taxes work out better. You don't see many companies that are doing SE status anymore.
When it all comes down to it, does putting
something on the wrong board really affect your life in a great way???? Chill out.
65 with spaces versus 65 without spaces; how to calculate?
Can someone tell me if you are getting 9 cents per 65-character line with spaces how much you would need to be paid per line to make the same amount per line if you are offered a ''65-character line without spaces?'' Thank you very much
So, if not spaces paid, what cpl would be comparable to at least 9 cpl w/spaces, do you know??
Thanks.
I took a test for a company and my foot pedal would work with the test and I had keep going back
over the dictation time and again to get all the words because I couldnt stop and start it by the foot pedal. What can I do about this.
who is putting you down? we were just responding
nm
putting it that way, you're right
/
Thats putting it mildly
my dear
Did you try putting your resume up?
I've gotten many offers just from having my resume up here.
never mind-sorry was putting
an e in the middle! Thanks!
So this is the program they are putting all of us on?
I would suggest asking your supervisor, but they will only lie or give you some explantion that makes absolutely no sense.
LOL. I actually agree about BOS. Just putting it out
However, no matter how you slice it, there is NO CHANGE in the line counts with 1 space vs. 2 spaces at the end of sentences, so how are MTs losing money, and how is the MTSO making money (no matter how many MTs or reports are involved)???
Run your own line counts if you don't believe. At least verify its validity before ranting about it. I know it's easier to just complain but people are getting far too excited and outraged over something that is inconsequential.
Love it as well. Thanks for putting so much (
time and effort into your post. I just hope that it produces positive results for all MTs. We are SO under appreciated, not to mention underpaid.
Not putting anyone down for this situation
a Transcend board like they did with Medquist (I actually didn't suggest it initially, another OP did, but I agree).
Wouldn't it be nice for all the MDI'ers/Transcenders to have a board to discuss the issues (like they did for Medquist)? Wouldn't you like that? I'd think you would. Why so mean to those who suggest it ... for christsake geeze.
Just took the test myself. No actual dictation to transcribe. Just a written test.
For 13 cpl, I might do it if the dictators aren't a total horror.
I just took the test today - thought it was a great test of MT skills.

verbatim should NOT mean putting in errors: SM
As a QA, this is how I pass on the guidelines (and verbatim is usually requested by the client, NOT QA!):
Verbatim means: Transcribe what the physician says but correct obvious punctuation, spelling, and grammar errors - like "there is 3 moles."
Headings and exams are transcribed when and as dictated, not adding in headings, not changing PHYSICAL EXAMINATION: to OBJECTIVE:, "rearranging" the report, or changing an exam dictated in paragraph to block format.
You do not add additional words to clipped sentences in clinical notes. If the doc says "A 56-year-old patient," you don't transcribe "This is a 56-year-old patient."
If the doc says right leg in one place and left leg in another, a blank is left and it goes to the clinic for resolution.
If a medication is spelled and you can't verify it, it is blanked and goes to QA. If we can't verify it, it goes to the clinic for resolution.
Verbatim should NEVER mean transcribing errors like have been described here, at least IMO.
Debra McNair keeps putting her ads up there
I sent my resume in the day she put that ad up there and not so much as an acknowledgement that she received it.
Poor business skills.
Abrasive is such a nice way of putting it lol
She ALWAYS has a lot going on. So do the rest of us.
I did employee first, insurance was over 750 a month for me and two kids so I switched to IC and was given horrible pay but so was their employee pay. I only worked for them because my old department was completely outsourced to them. It was a waste of my time, that's for sure. I had DD as well and yet it was still screwed up all the time.
Too bad because they had easy accounts.
