I looked in the most obvious place

I looked in the job seeker's board on this site. However, for the life of me, I don't remember seeing the job I ended up accepting there, and I can't remember exactly where I did see it. Very weird. But I just read all the paperwork for it, and I'm liking what I see still!

I have looked all over, but is there a place on the pay stub sm
from Transtech that tells you how much PTO you have? I have been there 4 months, and have no clue as to how much time I have. (I realize it is probably not much -- just curious.) If it is there somewhere and I am just missing it, please tell me where to look.
Thanks!
I havent found a 9-pin to USB and I have looked everywhere. One place
told me that 9-pins were becoming extinct in other words so they didnt even bother selling adapters for it. I have no idea why the platform company, Escription, does not have their program updated so you can at least use a 15-pin that you can buy an adapter for and my laptop would take a 15-pin, but all Escription is compatible with is a 9-pin unless something has changed and no one told me.
Must not be too obvious..
Listen, so you have had a great time at KS. I am happy for you. I am not saying that you are not telling the truth. However, you are telling me that everything I say is not true. How can you know this? And because you have a good experience with KS, you are assuming that I must just be some loser MT who cannot hold a job. I must be lying because you have never had any problems with KS. How can you know this?
In reality, I am a very good MT. I am a great employee. I have been and always will be. I don't take off work, I work OT most days. I do 20,000 lines per pay period and have a 99 percent accuracy score at my company. I am also NOT a liar.
The bad goes with the good. If someone asks a question about KS with regards to their business practices, they want an overall idea of how it really is. So, the truth has to be told. That is WHY they are asking. Also, there are many MTs who are of the same opinion of KS and there is a reason behind that. It would be because we have all had the same issues there. Are some people happy there?? Sure. No one says they don't have happy MTs. But my experience, and that of other MTs, cannot be overlooked on the assumption that we are all just bad MTs.
oh yes they do and it's obvious
I can tell who posts here a lot of times.
Your too obvious M.S. try something else!
IT'S OBVIOUS THAT....SM
After all the overhiring, it's obvious that they're slowly but surely trying to phase out straight-typing MTs.
This is so obvious.......LOL
Obviously you work as a recruiter or management.
Seems obvious to me
If you can take the chance the new job won't work out, I would not trust the current job to be straight, or fair, in the future.
That said, you should at least *ask* your supervisor point blank did he/she know it was a software issue? Did QA?
If NO one (outside upper management) knew, then you have to consider this, so you need to ask.
Isn't it obvious?
I would think it's all just a convoluted ploy to: A) Pat themselves on the back for their spectacular prank; B) Avoid paying unemployment benefits. If they cut your pay that much, you can potentially receive UI benefits. If they fire you without cause (based on your report of prior good employee status), you can receive UI benefits. But if you quit, you get nadda/zip/zilch. They get a good laugh at screwing you out of your benefits and it doesn't cost them a dime.
Not me. I hope there is a special place reserved for them in a very hot place.
x
It is obvious that you were not there in 2002 - because you would know
who I am, but it is apparent that you do not. So I suggest, that unless you want a face to face confrontation with a legal representative, you need to back off. Thank you.
Obvious management
Happy. Come on. People run for the hills if they have a brain from this company. No benefits. Take spaces and do not tell you, so they can make payroll probably since pays have finally been on time for a change. You are absolutely incorrect. Do not lie on this board. It is unfair to MTs who need a good job.
It's pretty obvious this is
if so, they should spend this much time and energy fixing the problems with the company...
LOL That's what I was thinking. WAY too obvious!
LOL!
The "sticky" is just that. Really. I know the obvious.
research that I had done on these forums, keeping logs of specifics I was looking for in companies. An awful lot of MTs do this exact thing, working off of just a few sites. That is how important our careers are to us. We are not naive enough to read 1 thread of someone singing praises. Basically, its the MQ MTs. Lots of us knew years ago where things were headed, yet we were professionals who had no need to panic at that point, but rather did our research and accepted positions at companies based on intelligent decisions based on long-term gathered data. However, if the data gathered over a year or an hour is garbage, then so much for the informed decision. Its like an informed consent for an operation - we made our decisions based on what was presented to us by MTSOs as well as employees. However, some of the MTSOs lied and, as we found later, pose as the MTs themselves on internet forums to further their lies. Of course we all see the sticky note, and of course we all try to be wise and cautious, yet you have to trust somewhere. Otherwise, we'd all be paralyzed with indecision. I hate to base my life choices on lies. Don't you?
This might be stating the obvious but...
Make sure you make the corrections and save the revised document!
I updated my resume and saved it, but when I went to send it out realized I had not updated my email address. I updated it on the resume I was sending out at that particular moment, but forgot to change it and save it in Word. After I had to correct it 3-4 times as I went to send it, I FINALLY remembered to go into the actual document, make the change and save it.
Sometimes I really wonder how I function in day to day life, I'm such a scatterbrain, lol!!!
yep. quite obvious..but yu who childish..not her.nm
nm
Sooo obvious..
It's so obvious that these last few replies were by the company/employees themselves in efforts to dismiss what is going on. MTs don't snooze on this one! Troll.. that is funny
Yes Ms Obvious, and I have secondaries
Not everyone types every specialty you know.
But surely, I have sat on my rear for the last month and it has never occurred to me to get another backup account (I already have 4!)! Maybe if I do a raindance, or one of my equally miserable teammates quit, the gods will provide me with enough work.
Oh, please, tell me to flex - that hasn't occurred to me either! DUH! You think I'm a tard, I see.
An obvious troll
put this clown who laughs at other's misery on *ignore.* Let LMAO entertain/babysit him/herself.
It's very obvious to me who it is--all the secrecy and attitude....nm
nm
It's obvious I don't base my choices
by this board; however, the negative things that have been stated have been true. Guess I should have taken the hint the first 3 times in regards to getting the hiring process completed. Since they could not follow through with that, don't know what made me think they could follow through with anything else!
Pretty obvious there is only one rah-rah person for OSi and (sm)
she is doing that company some major harm. I think it is possible that she is on everyone's last friggin nerve!
I work for a great company, but if I would be put in a position where I would need to find employment elsewhere, OSi would be one of the companies that I would stay clear of. There must be some crazy stuff going on there.
It is so obvious you are the same poster each time.
//
Hi heather. It is painfully obvious it is you posting
You are just so rude!!
Agree the post(s) are quite obvious. This is not how we write here. SM
This is a fine example of my question: How are editors not having to make major changes to reports coming back from overseas? No matter what anyone is saying, there has to be some major editing. Possibly not so much in regard to medical terminology, but just misuse of proper grammar. This has to be creating a lot of work if you have to edit almost every sentence in a report. But I guess, if the overseas MTs have a doctor dictating who knows our language properly, they get to type verbatim. Just curious how overseas MTs do when they transcribe for an ESL doc from a different country here in the U.S. who is not so efficient at dictating. It has to be a mess.
So obvious "Not KS". Why would another MTSO post
in a thread about another MTSO? So full of BS. We're not stupid; just underpaid.
You'd play lousy poker - obvious bluffer.
Don't have to have the last word to have the last laugh, and I'm having a good one.
Such an easy mark. . . such a short fuse. WOO! I am laughing out loud.
Obvious lack of reading comprehension (no surprise there)
I am not management. I do VR; the term 'these people' refers to those who refuse to even CONSIDER doing VR and would rather jump ship than learn.
Honestly, I wish EVERY account at TT would go to VR to weed out all of those who can't comprehend a simple post. I'm not surprised so many of resist doing VR; the lack of reading comprehension which is vital to VR is obviously missing in many of you.
Sheesh, now I know what my dad meant when he'd refer to someone being 'stubborn as a mule' or 'head as thick as a rock', lol!
Other than the obvious MQ and Spheris, what companies round out the top 10 in terms of size? sm
Which offshore out of those? I want to go with a big company for a few reasons, but I do not want MQ or Spheris. I'm also just curious. It seems like they are very big and the rest are much smaller. Am I right or just assuming? Which company or companies do you think are growing and will catch them or close? Are there any out there that have that potential? I would love to get in for chance for advancement but not ground level because I want stability. Easy to know what I want, hard to articulate it clearly. I have read previous posts, tried to research other sources and want to put together a good list for myself.
Maybe the one you got looked better
The one I received appeared childish and not at all professional.
Looked them up.......
and it said there was 1 employee. Maybe it is a 1-woman business and she needs help for a while. That would explain not paying on time (she has to wait to get paid before she can pay anyone else). I would proceed with caution.
have you ever actually looked into this??? SM
YES, you can't get benefits for half, but the coverage is all but worthless! Basically covers a disaster and nothing more. HUGE deductibles, etc. So yes, you can get an insurance policy for half the cost, but for what? Trust me, I have spent hours researching this for my own family when we needed our own benefits. It was awful.
Just looked
At their hospital list and they definitely ARE NOT hospitals that they service, they couldn't possibly, as a lot of the hospitals are accounts that I work on for Medquist
yea i looked
yea i have looked an the job seekers forum but did not see anything. i have no idea where else to look. i really want to find something online though.
Just looked
Don't know anything about SS, but I looked at the posts and they are really stupid and very immature. Also served no purpose whatsoever.
I never really looked at it that way....
xx
Have you looked in the............. sm
yellow pages at the physician listings lately? The Indian physicians are coming to the US where they can make money off of insurance companies, Medicare and Medicaid.
I worked for an Indian physician in the 1990s and he told me that he was thrilled to be able to come to America to do his residency where he made $5 an hour reading telemetry strips and EKGs while completing the residency program. He told me that doctors in India make so little because there is no insurance program there, and even if there were, the majority of Indians are so poor they couldn't afford it.
We Americans tend to forget that not every country in the world is as highly developed as we are in terms of health care, technology and even general living conditions.
Well, DUH! Guess I could have looked that up, eh? (LM)
(Smacking myself for being not so smart.) Thanks!
Well, I DID look it up, and this is what I found for my state. (I would think that working on a platform that is unreliable and defective, in addition to losing more than half of what I had been making, in addition to management's knowledge for several months now that the program doesn't work and refusal to fix it -- might fit into one of these categories).
VOLUNTARY QUIT
UC Law provides, in part, that a claimant shall be ineligible for benefits for any week in which his/her unemployment is due to voluntarily leaving work without cause of a necessitous and compelling nature. A claimant who voluntarily quits continuing work has the burden of proof in establishing good cause for quitting; and, that such cause was real and substantial, leaving the claimant no other alternative. The burden is on the claimant to show that, prior to quitting continuing employment, he/she made every reasonable effort to maintain the employer-employe relationship.
Following are examples of some common voluntary quit situations.
Due to unsuitable work - When an employe accepts a position, he/she admits to the initial suitability of the position with respect to its wages and the conditions of employment. When a claimant quits because he/she feels the job was unsuitable, the claimant must show there were changes in the conditions of employment, to which he/she did not agree upon, that made the job unsuitable, or there was deception on the part of the employer with regard to the conditions of employment at the time of hire, or he/she shall be considered ineligible. The suitability of the work will be determined by considering factors such as the degree of risk involved to the claimant's health, safety and morals; the claimant's physical fitness; the claimant's prior training and experience; the distance of the available work from the claimant's residence; the prevailing condition of the labor market; and the prevailing wage rates in the trade or occupation.
Job not the same as what was anticipated - To be eligible, the claimant must show that the monetary expectations of employment were not fulfilled through no fault of the claimant. For example, a claimant takes a job selling vacuum cleaners because he/she has been told he/she could make $50,000 per year through commission sales. After three weeks, the claimant quits the job because he/she was unable to make any sales and the personal expenses exceeded the income, thereby warranting the allowance of benefits.
I looked at it and don't thing that gives
x
I see 206 people have looked at
this post but not one commented back on a specific. Guess that means all is okay out here in MT land. Cuckoo. Cuckoo.
I looked in the Archives.
its in there.
Have you looked for work lately
Evidently you have not changes jobs lately, you are lucky to get 8 with tons of experience.
Exactly why the business is looked upon as
housewives doing not much of anything except just typing. I guess you put the above on your resume, huh, rearing children?
i looked at the article...
and it still does not clear up the line count issue for me at all. : (
I looked inside...
You are wrong on this one. There is no problem with a company requiring a certain number of lines from an IC. They cannot tell you which hours to work, but they can require a certain end result. Get it? Go back and read the IRS definition of an IC.
duh, I never even looked at your moniker
I would ask for a different primary, but I'm not sure I would go into details with your liason at the risk of jeopardizing a good working relationship with him/her. Good luck.
Look again. I just looked at their website. SM
It states on the homepage in the first paragraph -- all Encompass employees reside in the United States.
Also states under Why Encompass? U.S. based transcriptionists -- never outsourced overseas.
OP said she looked in archives..
But I will take you up on that as I also thought of applying.
I have just looked at their benefits sm
I work for TT right now and the benefits, incentives, etc. are similar. I am very happy and comfy at TT and will stay there. Nothing worth switching for.
I saw that ad and looked suspicious to me.
Anytime there isn't a legit company name or phone number and/or town, makes me wonder. Maybe his name is Balla Honor;-) AKA no honor involved at all.
