This charity work thing is true. I was a MT/manager and worked for Transcend when it first began in the business of taking over transcription companies and outsourcing. Paranoia is the #1 main tool they had me use at that time. Not my style at all. Of course it probably depends on each individual branch and manager, but the higher ups then (don't know if now still is that way though) were more interested in the money than the MTs. A VP invited us as managers of a certain region to split champagne after we outsourced a hospital and he turned around and cut everyone's CPL. I not only turned down the champagne (at the MTs' expense by the way), but I objected and when I was not heard, I quit!
Sorry such a long post, but this subject strikes a certain nerve with me. LOL.
