What exactly is the difference between DSG1 and DSG2? (sm)
Saw posts some time earlier about DSG doing backup for MQ accounts. Is this the difference?
Sporadic problems with my account on DSG1 with sound but overall if offered DSG1 I would give it a
try, this is a good company. Not enough experience with DSG2 to give you a current opinion.
DSG2 accounts are awful..dictators and sound quality.
I've been there for years, work on the DSG1 side of things, pay on time, direct deposit, more
feedback lately. I have always found the staff and MTs helpful and friendly. Work does fluctuate, but if you have a few accounts, should keep you busy, also sound quality can be an issue but mostly okay.
I've noticed
that the post is pretty effectively being buried alive. I was replying to the OP about no work. TT was so different back in 2002 or 2003 (whichever, I forget) when I first went to work for them. It was pretty much like the good ole days. It started downhill about 2005 (I think it was) and I'm glad I'm not there anymore to witness any more decline. I have to say that I didn't stay out of work long, I'm not one to put up with any nonsense and if I had stayed on I would probably have been dead by now from getting so angry I would either have had a heart attack or a stroke.
My grandkids are visiting and they sleep late so I can't really start any activities until they get up. When I saw the no work again, I just tripped out for a minute. At the end even the Big Q never treated me so shabbily. I just reckoned people had a right to some information and I felt like giving it. I appreciate the kind words. I would never mislead anyone. I know of several companies and people who work for them that are much better if you want to remain healthy and not stress to death day in and day out. I know of one who has someone I know well working for them that gets a bad rap here but she has worked for them more than 10 years, gets paid way above average and never runs out of work, in fact they are on OT at the moment. She says she got into trouble for taking off early from her shift without telling them recently, apparently they are sticklers about that, but she wouldn't consider working anywhere else. I won't give any names, not sure it is allowed and anyhow, anyone interested can do their research. If a company wouldn't give me a pay range I would not take their test either. If they won't give you a range then it's a pretty safe bet they pay peanuts.
It just really pains me for you folks who are sitting around waiting for a job to dribble in. I have trained many MTs in my career and so I care deeply for MTs, whether or not I personally know them.
I'm just saying there are other companies out there who pay well, don't run out of work and respect their MTs as TT used to do.
As for the excuses for running out of work and, yes, I got the emails whether or not I was out of work myself. The funniest I ever saw was that it had been MLK Day, as if that was a major holiday. LOL Major holidays have always been slow but it seems now grandparents day is a major holiday. LOL
Sooooo......I wish the best for all of you. Don't sell yourselves short, you deserve better. The grandkids will be going home right after the 4th and so I'll probably disappear again.
My best to all of you.

I've noticed that, too.
There are some people who have sung the glory of Transcend that come from areas where they will stone you for driving a foreign car (even the ones with US factories) because the car put together in Alabama is not American enough. But, eliminate US jobs by sending them to Indian, well, good golly, that's as patriotic as baseball and apple pie.
Double standards and flexible ethics are a wonderful thing if they work for them, but don't try to convince me that the Star Spangled Banner sung in Hindi to a bhangra beat is good for the USofA.
I've noticed that too
For the last 3-4 weeks, I have noticed that the dictators I have gotten are more difficult, foreign, and there is less work, especially after the weekend, and this has been a growing trend lately. Would like to know the answer to your question too.
I've been there for a while and haven't noticed
any changes at all. Did I miss something?
I've noticed this problem.....
every time they run accounts through readaptation. It will improve reports of a couple dictators, but overall we wind up with a mess for a week or two after, then it seems to straighten up a bit.
I've noticed it for a lot of hospitals - not services - sm
you might want to do a search on Americasjobbank or Monster or HotJobs. You may even find a hospital that will set you up at home, depending on what state you're in. Florida hospitals can set people up at home if they live in certain states - basically because of tax issues and such.
I've also worked there over 4 years and I have noticed the work drop
Whatever left is the crap. Also, check your line count some time. I swear that they have manipulated that also. I can now do over 2 pages and it comes up with like 50 lines. I used to be able to make a living there but can't anymore. I'll be quitting.
Only difference I've noticed is the DVI vs non-DVI pedal. Otherwise, regular Infinity pedal shoul

DSG vs DSG2
Does anyone know why they're divided into separate classifications when they're with the same co? TIA.
not sure about DSG2
and have had no problems. I like the account I'm on and DSG has nice people in management and QA. :)
I've been there - back to my own accounts again!
If it helps - I truly understand. Been there, done that! Hopefully, don't have to ever do it again. Own accounts are the way to go.
I've not worked on those accounts
x
that may be ... I'm on DSG1 and have no problems
x
Funny, I've been there 8 yrs and thru numerous new accounts sm
and I'm STILL HERE WORKING FULL-TIME! I know last year there was a problem with hiring too many people before a couple of accounts started, but it isn't like that now.
They said this on a DSG2 conference call
...that it was overflow from MQ. This was news to me too.
They've been hiring so much because they have two new GIGANTIC accounts that need to be staffed.
Between the two accounts they need something like 50 people. I wouldn't worry about it. A company CAN hire lots of people and still staff appropriately, you know.
Avoid DSG2 at all costs...don't know if it is rerecord or not
What is the DSG1 platform do you known. I thought it was DSG 2 that everyone complained about.
:
Pay always on time, platform is easy, they've always been nice to me, do have several accounts to
avoid running out of work. I do MT and QA.
Question for people at DSG. Are you having enough work and for those on DSG1, do you have good
sound on your accounts. I think DSG2 is overflow from MQ. Am I correct on that. I had heard the sound is not as good. Can anyone let me know anything about this. I would appreciate it.
OK, just exactly how many numbers is it then...
If not just one? Please do tell, cause I'm missing something here...
I like your numbers much better than sm
mine. I have ten years experience, but normally I only work part time, so I haven't reached that high of a salary yet.
Again, I have to ask, is $47,000 with or without benefits?
I tend to also agree with you on the leaving blanks, looking up terms, etc. When you know your doctors, you know what they are saying. With years of experience, you know the vocabulary and you don't spend as much time looking things up.
You all bring up valid points to ponder, I am definitely going to think.....what would l look for in an employer and what am I worth based on my experience. Then I need to figure out if I am making/earning that based on the hours that I work.
Where did your numbers come from? Don’t do that in a day.
NM
The numbers just don't add up.
My current pay for straight typing is 10 cpl. Now, let's say I average about 160 lines per hour for an 8-hour day. For a 2-week pay period, my pay before taxes is $1280. If I double that, at 320 lines an hour at what my company is offering for VR (3.5) my 2-week pay before taxes is $896. Even if I produce 2.5 times my straight typing production at 400 lines per hour, my 2-week pay before taxes is still only $1120.
How am I making more money???
It's all a numbers game.
When we lived in NYC it sounded like we made a lot of money but we lived the same as we did in Pittsburgh. The numbers are different, but they're all relative.
$400,000 for a house, you make $200,000 a year.
$200,000 for a house, you make $100,000 a year.
Just depends on where you live. You might make more money elsewhere numbers-wise but the standard of living is still the same if you have the same job and educational background.
membership is about numbers.
The American Medical Association allows foreign nationals who practice in this country to join their association and nobody thinks a thing of it. AAMT, does nothing different than any other association specific to a secular group and everyone goes nuts. With increased membership comes increased revenue and it does take money to run any association or business. Shoot, it takes money to run a home. I wish that more people would do something constructive toward morphing this industry into an environment that would see us all working toward a common goal (whatever the heck we choose it to be) than all this constant negativity and AAMT bashing. If you are not interested .. okay .. so be it .. but quit the bashing .. what's the gain?? It was never conceived to be a union or bargaining unit for wage negotiation .. if you don't like the offering .. you don't need to change the name to roll with change.
IP numbers can be seen by the admin BUT a lot
of money will be paid for the service of having someone's records subpoenaed. I have read this entire thread and I see nothing that anyone can really do.
IP addresses are not definitive either. Groups of people can share an IP address particularly on places like AOL and there are other companies that do it that way also, so someone would really have to go to lengths to find out the definite ID of someone. I don't believe I have read anything other than independent opinions presented on this topic.
These boards are to share opinions and not all opinions are fair, but this is the United States and we do have freedom of speech. Presenting an opinion about a company is ok. Libeling a company is not. I do not see libel at all in this topic.
If you can't name numbers, it is not that good, obviously.
x
I keep a list of job numbers by day, and that's it.

Well, I crunched the numbers
If you translate old LPH rate into lines, they restructured the tiers so they start at a lower amount of lines, and pay at a higher bonus rate than before. So management's intent was to give us a bonus raise, and that is how it will work out for me (going by the lines I typed the last couple of pay periods).
As far as not getting the bonus when you take PTO, that is pretty much standard for companies with line-based incentives. Its just another downside of production-based pay. Only if a person was paid hourly could they expect to get paid exactly the same for PTO (but they'd also get paid the same all the time, and no ability to make more by working harder).
I feel they had good intentions when they made this change. The LPH system had its problems (like when Enterprise would fbe slow or reeze up you'd have to keep adjusting the time clock because your LPH took a dive) and this was a way to eliminate some hassles. They already received some complaints yesterday that they needed to add another tier, and they did. I'm sure they will continue to tweak it if people have complaints.
strength in numbers
There are certain factions who have profited greatly from having us believe that unions are corrupt and useless. Yes, there have been abuses of power in unions, and the auto industry is paying for that. However, that is only one of there problems and probably not one of their biggest.
Who needs unions? Look at the average American worker, barely able to live paycheck to paycheck, and corporations making record profits. How bad do things have to get? Are you willing to just sit back and let the corporations continue to take over?
Unions are about giving workers a chance, a chance to stand up for themselves. It is only through organizing that we can create a united front and stop this trend of abuse to the American worker. It is not about being militant or greedy. It is about human decency.
You can go to the Numbers USA website to
contact your representatives by fax about critical immigration and job issues. I just sent a couple - they are free.
Yes, they do allow split shifts,
like the poster below stated, it would still be specific time frame.
Can you split a shift?
Sorry about all of the questions. Have several full-time offers, just trying to make the right choice and need at least a little flexibility.
You can have a split schedule, but whatever
schedule you agree to work there is no flexibility within that schedule. You don't have a window of time to do your work. I find that being strict with my schedule actually gives me more time to do other things, but I still hate the rigidity and wished we had a 12-hour window. There are days where a lot of the accounts are practically doing the work as it comes in despite having a 24-hour TAT so it seems like there could be some flexibility allowed.
Split Tunnel
It's called split tunnelling and it's a setting on the VPN concentrator at the hospital. You'd need to speak with someone there (or ask your MTSO to) to allow split tunnelling. It's a security setting. Hope this helps.
Jeff Smith
You can split the 8 hours over Sat and Sun

How unethical to be trying to find other MTs ID numbers
nm
The numbers on the Q above do not include ILPs.
There is a difference.
Email me for comparison numbers
I don't feel comfortable publishing them here, but email me privately and I will send you a comparison of the old rates and the new rates that obviously proves its a raise. I'm working tonight but will gladly send it tomorrow to anyone that asks.
Also they sent an email to everyone yesterday stating PTO will be calculated just the same as it was before, based on what you made the prior pay period, bonus and all.
I guess quite a few people that are freaking out about this are going to feel silly in about a month when they are making more money and find out they were wrong.
UPDATE: Some numbers I have crunched on VR
I checked the amount of work I did this past week and will give you an example of what 4 cents a line (like I am paid) compares to 3 cents, like your company is talking about. I have VR as fast as it will go, if not I cannot make the amount I am comfortable with a day. This past week 1 day I had 3169 lines with VR (167 straight lines) and on the 3169 I made $126.76- if I had worked for the 3 cents a line like your company speaks I would have made $95.07. Being fast means nothing if you cannot speed the audio up and with escription it will only speed up so much. I know people's concerns, I had the same but just thought would run this past people so they could see the difference in 4 as opposed to the 3.
Diskriter with let you do a split shift
nm
Split shifts Precyse
I work for Precyse and I believe that they do allow a split shift on some accounts. I would definitely call the recruiter and ask about it.
Transtech allows you to split your shift.
