I know something about this

I do psych reports for local mental health facility. Type psych evals on kids and adol. Same phd doc, we worked really intensely to get set up with the templates. Work is on call. It's all good, but didn't start out that way. They began by telling me that they'd like me to take the account, but they were only going to pay XX. Funny, they all try this. They as you your rate then tell you in essense so what, this is what they will pay. Take it or leave it kind of thing. Since I'm not a desperate for $$ MT anymore, I had to keep in mind what equivalent my bottom line hourly rate had to be. They would do a per line rate because they didn't want me to profit on using pre-typed templates. What we agreed on was me charging them per minute of recording. Makes sense, I could have done a little better with the rate, always after the fact--sometimes the phd talks too rapidly when reading back info from other reports. All in all, it's a great back up income. I kind of cut my MT baby teeth on psych work, so really enjoy it and have a feel for the tests, etc. Bottom line, never, ever, take what makes you woosy in the gut. It happens even with 10+ years of working, if you're second guessing it, it's because you kind of know you'll be sorry later when you're stuck with the work and low pay and can't go back and change it. And, mostly because you may feel you sold yourself out. If they don't consider the templates as a bonus, stick with your real--real medical doc rate and you will be fine. Didn't proof this, hope it makes sense. Good luck to you.
