in a couple of days. Usually when I take these tests, the software lets me know how I did right away usually with a congratulations, you passed! The fact that it did not say that, is that standard for this company, or did I flunk the test? I just usually know right away how I did on these tests and am unsure of this company's hiring process. Thanks for any info. :)

I took a test for a company and my foot pedal would work with the test and I had keep going back
over the dictation time and again to get all the words because I couldnt stop and start it by the foot pedal. What can I do about this.
Just took the test myself. No actual dictation to transcribe. Just a written test.
For 13 cpl, I might do it if the dictators aren't a total horror.
I just took the test today - thought it was a great test of MT skills.

There is no written test. Must have been a different company. I took their ortho test sm
and it was easy. You had to know your terminology but it was easy to understand AND I used my foot pedal.
I said MAY NOT hear, didn't say you wouldn't hear. There is
a difference, and many people have said they knew they didn't do well on the tests, but still feel like they should have heard from companies and haven't.

Regarding Wondering's question, the company I work for is investing strongly in upgrading its MTs' and editors' skill levels (exactly what this says about need for us for ten years down the road I can't say). This morning I found an e-mail saying they would pay every one of us to attend an on-line class on making Expander macros to increase our productivity. Amazingly, I have to assume many employees were choosing not to attend the unpaid ones they had been offering...

my take on the e-mail
e-mail (free) blanketing anyone who gets on an MT mailing list looking for unskilled (low pay) workers to churn out poor quality work for big profits. Sounds right out of a get rich book to me. Standard operating procedure for most companies in transcription biz.

I understand what you mean and I would hate to have so many accounts. Things have definitely gone from bad to worse at OSi recently when I thought they couldn't. There has to be a better way for both of us.

Of course, its in the mail...
Then they said it was lost, then they said I had the dates wrong on when they should pay, then it was if you don't get it by Friday, we will send it by UPS overnight, of course after the weekend had gone by and so on... At first, they bounced a check, by the time they made that good, the next check was due, and by the time they sent me another bogus check the third was due... and then I quit and the other one came due at that point... so here I am today with work done in July and they still have not paid me. They don't intend to either. For your sake, watch your back!
