How many of you work for a company with a Tues thru Sat or Sun through Thur schedule? How can you possibly due this every weekend? I would have no problem working a rotating weekend schedule every 3 to 4 weeks, but EVERY weekend when I have kids and family time is important? Please explain this to me, as I just cannot see how it is possible. Thanks!

Thanks so much for the wonderful advise. I accepted the position.

Sorry, I found a wonderful position that started at
10 cpl. Can't complain one bit about them. It is a FT job, not IC, with benefits, PTO and holiday pay, have run out of work 1 time in 6 months and that was only for about 2 hours. Plus, no weekends. There are jobs out there if you take the time to do your research and look.
Ditto, Keystrokes is a wonderful company with wonderful people! I love working for Keystrokes!
I am just not making enough money. They are a great company though, just ask for a back up account.
They are really a wonderful company with little or no
turnover in staff. The owner really knows how to treat his staff well.
yes the do!! a wonderful company
xx
Wonderful company.

Wonderful company!
I love working with MTA. Pay is good and on time. Hours are flexible (probably depending on account). Lynn is very organized and great to work for.
I worked for a wonderful company. sm
It is pretty small and she will probably keep it that way. She is the best boss, very knowledgeable and willing to share the knowledge, fair wages, sits right there every day typing or proofing along with everyone else, and she turned out to be a great friend. I worked for her as long as I could but was making much more money doing radiology reports so made the decision finally to concentrate on that only. We keep in touch and some day I may be back with her, who knows. So, I would say not all companies are the same but the really good ones just may be harder to find.
Transform is a WONDERFUL company!!
They pay on time, helpful, wonderful/nice people. They are pretty much everything you would want!
The company sounds wonderful, by chance....
do you need a really dedicated Radiology MT????
I work for SmartScripts and they are a wonderful company.
Plenty of work and pay is always on time.
Axolotl is a wonderful company but not sure if hiring. SM
You are welcome to email me if you want. Good luck
Proscript is a wonderful company, great people. nm

EMTS is a wonderful caring company - I've been
there over 2 years and I will have to be chased away with a stick. This company is SOOOOO kind to their employees ... seriously caring people. You can't work for a better bunch. That is my .02
I worked there for a short time. Wonderful company.
I went and got my own clients, so I couldn't do both. Pay was adequate and on time by direct deposit. I had a teaching hospital, good account, some difficult ESL, some not so difficult. Bayscribe platform is okay, had to get used to it. I personally was not fond of it, but to each their own.
The long distance phone service was not an issue. I used the Verizon unlimited LD and regional plan $49.99 per month.
All-in-all, my experience was good while there. Every company has their ups and downs. It all depends on what your individual needs are and how far out of your comfort zone you want to go.
Good luck!
Hello other ex-Genie. YOG was a wonderful company indeed. I didn't know how good I had it. Those

Wonderful company, but you type letters and look up addresses and you do not get paid for spaces nm
nm
I agree also. Keystrokes is a wonderful company with very, very nice and helpful people. I would
like much more work, at least 12,000 lines each pay period.
FN is a great company full of wonderful people who treat you with respect. SM.
But they only want to pay 4.5 cpl for SR, 5.5 for heme/onc. Can you believe that? Also, workload has been very, very low for a very long time.
Wonderful company!!! Left for personal reasons. Would go back with no hesitation! nm

Ask insider if her company is in position to take on MTs from other company who are familiar
:+
QT Medical is a wonderful small company. Very friendly and flexible with good dictators. sm
I have to be honest that I know nothing about the health insurance as I do not carry it. Anyway, they are an absolute wonder of a company. Apply at www.qtmedical.com
I know you said you already declined but
did you try to negotiate at all? Could you maybe work every other full weekend? One place I worked for awhile back wanted one weekend day, and I worked it out with them for 10 days in a row and 4 days off in a row. Just hate to see you lose out on a wonderful position (few and far between it seems these days from reading here) without throwing something out there as a compromise that the company might consider. Bset of luck to you!
They are wonderful! Pay on time, work always available, wonderful
people
I declined it. Thanks guys. sm
I just can't survive on $10 less an hour.
glad your declined. More MTs need to do this too, 4,5,6,7,8,9 etc sm
all below federal poverty level.
I have been offered 2 positions but declined both.
They offshore, sound quality is very poor, pay is low, lots of work because no one will work there for long due to the above. The owner seems very nice and upfront, but seems to be in a constant transition mode, changing the way lines are counted, pay rates, etc. All this is current and in the archives.
Do you still have to use MQ's computer. I know in the past you did and that is why I declined the
offer. I really dont want to work for a company where I have to use their computer. Thanks..
To OP: Are you? Are you this company? Because if you are, you just offered me a position.
I'd like to know if it's you before I decide whether to accept or decline.
I would be cautious. I declined their offer because I couldn't get

And she actually seemed offended when I politely declined...geeeesh! nm

I think it depends on the company and what position you hold. sm
If you are a Team Lead or manager, I think it would be a conflict of interest. If you are an IC, you should have more than one place that you do work for to be considered as an IC, otherwise you are an employee.
I accepted a position with a company last week. sm
How long does it take usually for a company to get you into training and typing after just being hired? A week from your acceptance? Two weeks? I'm waiting for equipment to arrive now.
TIA.
I accepted a position with a company last week
I was able to set up an appointment to start training after my software and equipment arrived also. It was approximately 2 weeks after being hired on. Don't get to worried. They still have to run business as usual and it takes time getting training schedules and software set up. I am so thankful that I switched from MQ . I have been with my new company for 6 months now and wondering why the heck I didn't leave earlier. Good luck.
Looking for a PT MT position, for company that provides equipment, and allows satellite....
Are there any such companies out there?
I have recently declined to accept VR rates as low as 1.5 cpl. What a flipping joke
At this point, I guess we're supposed to work for free. I mean do we not still leave in America where cost of living is sky rocketing and then they come with an offer of 6-7 cpl for straight typing and 1.5-3 cpl for editing. That worst is when the ad says must have at least 5+ years experience, excellent high quality standards, blah blah and then they offer you that.. Insulting..Good luck on surviving on that. I guess we should move to another country where the cost of living is comparable to the wages. Give me a break. We all just need to take a stand or this industry will not survive..
How is turning you down for a position rude? Are they, or any other company, obligated to give you
No. As a recruiter, I am seeing this more and more. Maybe the hours you were available did not match what they needed. Maybe your equipment or speciality or background did not match. How is it rude not to hire someone? There would be no need for interviews if everyone was just hired because they applied. I did not understand most of this until I started recruiting. The company I work for is spoken well of on this board and then bashed at other times. I see a lot of people that think they are entitled to a position or a shift or a certain account. It is difficult to be on this side.
The DQS is an IC position and the Dictaphone EXtext is an employee position....
both part time...both making 9.5 cents per line...which is better IC or employee?
Thanks :)
I'm hoping too as I accepted position a position also nm

It IS wonderful!
I have worked in many places in 30+ years, but this is by far the best. Very well organized. Lots of open communication. Ongoing conversations with your fellow editors throughout your shift. They will listen and help on jobs that you have trouble with. The management treats you with utmost respect. We are all called colleagues - no superiority complexes here. I say go for it. I have only been here a month myself but wonder what took me so long to get here! Please join us!!
They are WONDERFUL
I am so glad that I found this company. Great pay, great dictators, great platform, pay is always on time, what more could I want?
Since you are new everything probably seems wonderful...
because it is at first...and then the more time goes by and you keep running out of work, have your e-mails come back unanswered when you question why there is no work, etc...then you will understand...if you still love it after you have been there a few more months then good for you...but obviously there is more than one person who feels this way...
That would be wonderful! (nm)

I use this one and it is wonderful!
www.nolimitlongdistance.com. The ad should be up at MTStars shortly but meantime you can go to the website. I use it and have logged in about 12000 minutes this last month. Still only $24.95 flat rate. You need high-speed Internet though but other than that, it can be used anywhere in the country.
My sup seems to think is it wonderful too but not the MTs nm
xxxxx
It may very well be wonderful for SM
the people who are posting about whatever company. What makes one place great for them may not be your cup of tea. It doesn't mean they are lying. Maybe they landed on a good account. Maybe they have a huge Expander and can make money anywhere. Maybe they like Meditech, who knows.
But to call them liars, recruiters or anything else is not fair.
Thanks for your help. It looks wonderful.
And you are a gem for telling us about this. A big Thank you! :)
How wonderful could they be
if they were using OS MTs and did not tell the client? That stinks on ice.
That's WONDERFUL!!
Great deal! I am SO glad to hear that you have an interested audience. PLEASE come back and let us know how it goes. Good luck!!!
There is a wonderful saying
PAY PEANUTS, GET MONKEYS. How on earth they can expect quality for that price is just beyond me. I hope none of us enables their bad behavior by accepting such jobs. Believe me, it is not worth it.
QA can be wonderful, BUT
Most of the time my QA is terrific, can occasionally help me out. For the most part, the blanks I leave they can't fill in either. The only time I get frustrated with QA is when the QA person obviously has less experience than I do and changes things that I have done correctly to be INCORRECT. IMO, QA people should be seasoned and well-rounded MT's. I can't for the life of me understand why a company would put a 2-year MT in QA to do QA for MT's that have say 15 years of experience. Usually the 2-year MT is one of the ones that NEEDS QA, simply because they have not had time to learn all the surgical terms, terms for all kinds of specialties, etc. I don't care how fantastic you are at grammar and spelling, nor how fast you learn, for QA experience should be a must and it's just not something a 2-3 year MT has enough of. It drove me nuts at one company I worked for when they would welcome a new QA person and say they had been an MT for 2-3 years and would now be checking the work of all MTs, many of whom had 10+ and far beyond years of experience. I think odds are good that these are the QA people who change correct dictation to incorrect, and it just frustrates me and makes me nuts that my good name/#/initials, whatever, are on a report that I took great pains to make high quality, and then a QA person changes it to subpar and sends it through in my name, to go in a patient's medical record with errors that I did not put there and should not be there. Anyone else experience this?
