I hear they are mainly clinic transcription but I don't know.

I hear that Amphion is back on mandatory overtime again, so
they must have plenty of work if you can stand tons of emails. For IC status, Advanced Transcription out of Oregon also seems to have plenty of work.
Amphion, so far, so great...:)
I have to say, so far, I have never been as impressed with another company, transcription or otherwise, nor have I been treated as well, it almost seems to good to be true. Of course, everything always seems great in the beginning, but I truly was blown away compared to where I was, even when I think back to beginning with the other company and I thought THAT was good...in fact, I feel undeserving at this point, lol.
I really believe they are sincere, and they have bent over backwards for me, to the point that I felt I couldn't repay them in three lifetimes, lol. I was so skeptical and almost paranoid at first because of previous experience, but they've done everything they said they would.
They offer flextime, downtime for computer problems/meetings/conferences etc., and most importantly, they are very supportive and positive interpersonally, which spurs me on to want to do my best for them in return, not take advantage of it (which is what I think some companies fear if they employ these types of policies.)
There are incentives for quality, which I believe is an essential component that is too often overlooked nowadays. I've never understood why this isn't pushed as a competetive edge over the competition much, anyway, but I guess I see why productivity is more important. A good balance has always been my preference.
There is a fairly thorough testing site, and a skill-level stratification based on QA scores and productivity levels that are taken on a regular basis...not arbitrarily based on how well you kiss booty or make your manager look by working out of your shift to do it. Management either have been or currently are transcriptionists, which is comforting.
Heavy on the self-starting skillls needed here, and a little iffy on the communication in the beginning, but this quickly cleared and was partly my fault. Make sure you send all training info cc-ed to all trainers to that you're all on the same page.
Oh, and as for the equipment, I received my computer ASAP and it's brand new, 20 dollars per month. There is QuickLook, Stedman's, and the AAMT BOS already installed for you on the desktop.
The only problem I foresee might be workflow at some point (if everyone jumps to them now), but in my opinion, that happens at times anywhere and can't be predicted. I was never bothered by lack of work flow much anywhere, unless it went on for an eternity. (I used to be self-employed, talk about famine at times.)
All companies are not all the same, girls and guys, that's bull ya tell yourself to keep you in the comfort zone. You are not spoiled just because you realize that your experience and skill level, after an appropriate amount of time, might be worth a little something after all, and you should find a company that will tell you so...IF you are truly doing what you say you are and not making excuses when you haven't given it your best.
Make sure to ask for what you NEED, not what you WANT...be reasonable...but don't settle for less than what you truly need to survive on.
If I change my mind down the road, I'll be sure and let you know, but so far, so great.:)
Good luck to you and go get 'em.:)
Amphion is great, but the pay is (sm)
average. I look at it like this: I would much rather have average pay and easy cheesy accounts and make $25 an hour rather than 10 cpl and get lousy accounts with being lucky to get my lines in.
AMPHION IS GREAT
I don't know why you guys think Amphion is so bad. I've never had a problem. Not with my supervisor, QA, management, IT or anyone else.
Great to hear.....
Congratulations!!!!!!
s/l Amphion to me. Great bunch and then some!!
Bless them:)
Wow! That's great....I think I just moved Amphion
to the top of my list! Thanks!!
Great to hear! Good for you!
:)
Amphion is a great company to work for!
Great accounts, I have one primary that keeps me busy. The people are great to work with.
If you like a great work environment - Amphion is it!
I could talk for hours about the wonderful attitudes and great hours and references and supervisors...but suffice it to say that Amphion has been a blessing for the 2-1/2 years I've been with them.
I work M-F, can take off early for football games or doctor appointments, as long as I get it in before the pay period is up (and it's approved, can't just leave the computer, obviously). They have study groups for CMT, a message board, IM is always available for questions/problems, the IT department is top notch and friendly, trainers are a dream, the work is always there and your account does happen to run dry, there's plenty of other accounts to keep you busy.
They're a dream come true. I've been with 5 other companies (national and private) and I honestly never see myself leaving Amphion. It's like a 2nd family - and they really cares about you.
Good luck in your decision - if you decide to come to Amphion, WELCOME! :)
And wherever you choose - congratulations!!
Great company and I hear that work will
soon be picking up. I was hired recently, too, and I am willing to wait on some more work just to have the nice people to work for. Also, they pay half of the social security tax, not half of your taxes. But compared to IC deductions, that is a big help.
That's great - glad to hear you got response
I'm glad you posted a followup as I was wondering how it was going for you.
Wow .. it's great to hear from you! Thanks for the good wishes. sm
The thing with eTransPlus was not a good fit for me either. I think it is probably a good company, it just didn't work for me as my start date kept getting pushed back, I was running out of work, there were program glitches, etc. Sometimes some things are just not meant to be. I hope you get on with Keystrokes again. I know it sounds kind of gushy, but I have found them to be truly wonderful people. I don't need someone to constantly sing my praises or anything -- decent pay and plenty of work is enough -- but it is kind of nice to hear thank you every now and then, and know that if you have a problem arise, someone will listen and try to help you.
Again, thanks for posting -- great to hear from you! Good luck!
Sorry to hear that because that was a good account with great normals. Hope
you find a new home where you will be appreciated and with good line counts!
Let's hear from the MTs that love their companies, their jobs and have a great line count
I love where I work, happy with line count, happy with earning potential. Love being an MT and working at home. You???
Webmedx fits that bill, great company, great benefits, great pay and always on time. NM
,
Current Amphion employee...I'm very happy. The part of Amphion I work with has no faxes, lists,s
minor demographic work..superb QA and feedback. Fellow MTs on same account are more than willing to help and now they also have mentor program. My pay is what they said. They do have different pay for different levels.
Anyone that applied with Kathy Kirby hear anything yet? I am wondering how long it takes to hear a
response back
Great company, great boss, great account!!!nm
x
I said MAY NOT hear, didn't say you wouldn't hear. There is
a difference, and many people have said they knew they didn't do well on the tests, but still feel like they should have heard from companies and haven't.
Hear, hear! (Or is it 'here, here?') LOL
System great, pay good, everything great, but most managers from old Edix, problems, poor people ski
when you are out of work, you are out of luck. If you are good at brown-nosing, are tough enough to be without any self-esteem, and have maybe money coming into the household on the side in case you tick someone off, then you may succeed, for a little while.
Don't ever ask questions or have problems with anything. Don't ever have a problem. Don't think you will have any control over anything you do, either.
A few 'good' managers remained when I left, but the new ones were all from the old Edix, and were completely into numbers, cared nothing for individual MTs...if there is work, you BETTER be working. If there no work, you will hear nothing, no one will help you.
You are pathetic! I have a great life, loving family, work for a great company.
You might want to fix that.
You really don't have to shout (angry person), but yes you are wrong!!
That is my last word to you!
I will add that getting a great pay check every other Friday from Medware really puts a huge smile on my face.
Oracle is great. Bayscribe is wonderful great line counts.
The trainer at OTI will always answer any questions about the platform and if you have any problems they have already worked them out, so just ask. Good luck!
YOG - Lots of work, great office staff, great money. NM
.
Loved Alltype! Great management and great accounts.
wah - i miss it there!
Thanks! I'm glad to hear that, I didn't think anyone used it anymore! I'm glad to hear so
I'll definitely check them out!
It's a great company -- lots of work and great pay. sm
Web site is www.mditrans.net. If you need anymore info, feel free to ask.
AXOLOTL - A GREAT COMPANY WITH GREAT INSURANCE
Axolotl has AWESOME, AFFORDABLE insurance. Family plan medical and dental costs a little over $300.00 MONTHLY. They also pay for family plan vision in its entirety. STD, LTD, 401K with match and flex spending account, great PTO and HOLIDAY pay. OH and paid downtime in the case you run out of work, which doesn't happen often!!!
Great pay, great benefits for 11+ years..sm
I've just started with this great company (eMTS). I have 11+ years of experience and I was started at .10 per line as a regular employee, not IC, with a huge sign-on bonus, full benefits, very nice people, and a good account. So far, this is the best experience I've had in my years as a transcriptionist. Unfortunately, I don't believe they're hiring more right now, but you could always check in with them, they're online at eMTS.com. The management seems to really care and they work with you.
Great company, great boss....
I use to work there. The dictators on my account were really good. They use Emdat/Inscribe. Pay on 1st and 15th by direct deposit.
That''s great and I've heard they pay great as well.
I just have heard a lot of adjectives for a few accounts - zinger, killer, impossible, etc., and I sure know I couldn't hack it there. But I'm sure they know what they are getting into when they sign up.
Hear, hear! Read My Opinion's opinion.
Regarding Wondering's question, the company I work for is investing strongly in upgrading its MTs' and editors' skill levels (exactly what this says about need for us for ten years down the road I can't say). This morning I found an e-mail saying they would pay every one of us to attend an on-line class on making Expander macros to increase our productivity. Amazingly, I have to assume many employees were choosing not to attend the unpaid ones they had been offering...
Great little company..I worked there for a short time, IC, and pay always on time, great owner too!
I had good dictators, they use FTP, and I had a 12-hour window to return the work.
Started small; great company. Rapid growth; not so great company
First year I was there was like heaven. Then the big growth spurt when they hired managers from another company (that I had run away from before because of their bad management) and let them kind of take over. Although I have no proof it was as though I got 'bumped' by these new people when they came in and I lost a good account, good manager, etc. My paycheck went down every month lower and lower, and it became harder and harder to make my minimal lines. Having any kind of advocate was nonexistent.
It depends on you and what kind of MT you are. Seems to me there are pretty much 2 types...
Sports like basketball where you have the pros who play with finesse, and then you have street players who think it is all about physical strength, period. More and more the physical strength is winning but the art of the game gets lost more and more...
As in this country where there are almost 2 sides now, those with intellect and thoughtfulness, and those who think the only way to be strong and be a leader is to beat up everyone who does not agree with you...and force your will on others.
Suffice it to say in my opinion WMX changed its philosophy of the way it treated employees and lost its heart when it grew, and it was literally almost overnight...
If you are a mass producer who has no care of what it takes to make money, if you are a 'street fighter' then it would probably be for you because you WILL have to fight for everything. Fight for the right account, fight for lines, fight to be treated fairly, etc. If you appreciate MTing for the art of MTing or have any kind of joy for the profession, my guess is you will not make it there very long...
This is happening all throughout the what used to be called profession. Seems to happening all through everything these days. Humanity and heart are being pushed down to the bottom...
Great pay rate on a 55 ccl, great lady to work for and work is not tough. sm
It is all IC work, although you still are expected to give a schedule if you are doing stat coverage. Only major drawback is the big wait for your first check -- almost a month from the time of your first invoice.
Good luck!
Wow - you all have given me great, great things .. sm
to think about and consider. I know myself well enough that I realize I don't always things through well enough before acting.
I do appreciate everyone's comments - both pro and con. This is exactly why I decided to ask for opinions. Thanks so much for not laughing at me and just saying that a hospital job is always the way to go. I'm pretty sure that I'll apply, and I already feel better prepared. You all are great!
Yep, they get great lines and great QA
yeah I see your point - because all the crap dictations go to everyone else :( Kind of makes steam come out of your ears doesn't it LOL
Amphion
Do you know if Amphion is hiring for radiology now? I tried to find their website but was unsuccessful. Anyone know their toll-free number?
Do you know how they pay for radiology -- by the character, line, or report? Range of pay?
Amphion does
Amphion uses this for their platform!
?? about Amphion please
Their website says they check references which could hurt you at your present job. How do they handle that? Also do they pay more if you do work nights and weekends? Thank you.
Amphion pay
8.5 cents but good luck getting there, you need 4 quarters of 100% QA.
amphion
AMPHION
Amphion
and how do you get hired?
Amphion
No, they only hire as employee status. Good company though. Lots of work.
Amphion
I work for Amphion now.. GREAT company... Their pay scale differs on what level you are but where I am is 0.78 line to 0.81 line depending upon quality. That is for multispeciality. Acute care I believe is more...
Amphion
They use ESP word Expander for Microsoft Word and they do count spaces. I work there and think they are absolutely wonderful people to work for... No doubt..
Amphion pay?
Would anyone who works for Amphion mind sharing what their average pay per hour works out to? Considering them, but also worried the money might not be there.
Amphion
Amphion seems like a good company, but I wonder if the money is there. Their pay structure seems vague.
Amphion
Ditto! Nice staff, but questioning if it will be possible to ever make a living working for this company.
Amphion
No Radiology Accounts
