I have worked at KS for almost 9 months and am very happy. sm

I looked at all angles when applying and most of the problems that people spoke of were in the past. A few had not even worked there for a few years. I took the chance and could not be happier.

A few months ago seemed everyone was happy, now most
are unhappy.  Lots of posts about them recently.
After 3 months on the job, very happy with DRC
It was important to me that I didn't have to provide the long distance line, DRC takes care of that. Great health benefits, I feel very affordable. PTO, don't often run into that, a great benefit. My account is certainly challenging but with 30+ years on the job I can handle it, though I very much appreciate the help I get from QA and my Account Manager. Working for DRC is a great fit for me. It was a bit confusing to be offered a cents-per-keystroke rather than cents-per-line, I would say keep a calculator handy and multiply whatever offer you receive by 65, concentrate on that, see if it meets your needs. Because I need health insurance and I appreciate the 1/2 of my social security they pay for me, because of the PTO (which I feel is generous) and the Direct Deposit, the fact that they pay for the phone line through an 800 number or send work over the net, and the fact that they provide me all the work I can handle 99 percent of the time, I would recommend DRC to anyone with the skills and experience to do the job.

I started 6 months ago and am very happy. sm
I started with one account that was busy and still have a lot of work. I have a back-up account but have never worked it as my primary is very busy. If you like radiology, this is the place to go from everything I hear. I transcribe the Big 4 and really enjoy my account.

My pay is good and on time thanks to direct deposit. I had to wait a few weeks for IDs but it was worth the wait!
I've been with Keystrokes for about 7 months, and I am very happy. sm
Pay is accurate and on time, plenty of work most of the time, and the people in management seem to genuinely care about the employees.  My primary account is in Meditech and at first I hated it, but now I do not mind it at all.  Hope this helps.  Good luck.
Yep, I worked there for about 3 months.
Complete waste of my time. Platform was terrible, to say the least. Very disappointing experience, and lots of bad press on this board on Transcend for a long time. I should have listened. Sorry you're going thru the same thing. One thing I can say - I stuck it out when my initial gut reaction was to say Adios! I only wish I had said Adios a lot sooner. They were nice and all that, but not my fit technologically, which is about half my income!
I have worked for MW for 2 months

We have plenty of work, pay is on time, lots of positives.   I'd say more but my girl is calling.

I worked for TT about 9 months ago ..sm
and after a short and horritble experience at MQ, ended up at DeVenture.
I worked for them up until a few months ago....

You can email me with any questions.

I worked for them a few months last
year on two accounts and ran out of work everyday. Other than that, they were very nice people to deal with all the way around. I'd go ahead and use their computer, if for no other resaon than as a backup to yours. Besides, you have to pay the deposit out of your earnings either way.
I worked for them for a few months.
company was great, staff was friendly, pay was always on time, but the IT people are in a different country and communicate by IM. They screwed up my router so bad I had to get a new one.

I would work for them again if they had a better technical support.
I worked there for about 4 months and
shouldn't even call themselves a transcription company.  If you want bad management, terrible voice files and a platform that works when it wants to I say go for it.  Oh and make sure you have a second job lined up so when they run out of work you have something to pay the bills with.
she worked there for two months - last year
By the time her last check arrived it was another two months after she had sent the equipment back. She would call everyday and get a different response as to why she still hadn't gotten a check for her first two weeks. She wasn't angry or about it, just frustrated because she thought working at home would be a godsend, but in this case it wasn't. It was unfortunate that she did not try other services.
I worked for them for a few short months
and could barely make 1000 lines a day.  Dunno if I just needed to put the pedal to the metal or if it was their system...
I worked there briefly PT about 9 months ago. sm

I did clinic work, for which I was paid 7-1/2 cpl (you get 1 cent more for acute care, I think), which was extrmely low for IC work, but the work was easy, and I liked that they paid every week.   The wav files are downloaded from an FTP site along with the appt list for the doc you are assigned, then your finished work is  uploaded to the FTP site.  There was no special platform, just Word.   I don't know about how the hospital side was done.  The people there are great, and the QA people are friendly and helpful.  The pay was always on time, direct deposit.

Hope this helps!

Well, I worked for them for about 6 months last year.
It was not a terrible experience, but it was not a wonderful experience.  Everything about them was just mediocre.   Not much to say, really.  Maybe that's why there aren't many comments.
I worked there a few months ago. People very

nice, but disorganized.  Kept losing my work.  Sound files were really bad, only worked on one account so it could have been just that account.  Platform so/so, but looking at upgrading within the year and I don't know what platform.

They are a fairly small company, I think less than 50 MTs.

I worked for them two years ago for about 4 months
and they were always running out of work on the two accounts I had. Obviously, nothing has changed since. I had to pretty much sit at my computer 24/7 to get my lines and much of that was waiting for it.

The people were nice, which was truly a blessing. But, I could not make any money if the work just was not there. So, I had to move on.
I worked for them for 3 months and left. Always
of full time lines, so no sign on bonus. I had an 80% ESL account and I cared more about the quality, so I made less than 900 dollars a payperiod. Great quality, good for them and my conscience, but not enough money to live on, no sign on bonus and no benefits. I left for a company where I am already far exceeding 900 dollars a payperiod with no sweat. BTW: No incentive or good QA bonuses at Transcend, so that was no help. No differential either. They do pay overtime, but that is not so great when you are trying to make sure you understand multiple foreign accents. Good luck to you.
Worked there for 2 yrs and left a couple months ago.
Couldn't take working with unqualified people any longer. A very unprofessional company.

I third that; friend worked for them and took about 3-4 months to collect his pay. nm
;
Haven't worked for ExecuScribe but have been at TT for about two months now
TT is the best company I've worked for in my 18 years as an MT. See all the other postings below.

PS- I am not a plant or cheerleader. Just a happy employee.
Could you be more specific? You worked there for 9 months -- what happened? sm

I'm just curious.  Stay away could be for a variety of reasons.

Thanks.

I have worked for them for about six months. They're great! Work is always there and sm

pay is always on time.  They're very nice to work with, too.

I worked there as an MT..... was not happy and left.

I worked there for 2 years.  There were a lot of policies there that I did not like.  I left there and found a company that is better suited to me and treats their employees much better.

How long have you been there?  I know leaving the comfort of a job is tough but there are much better companies to work for (in my opinon anyway)

I'm happy for you that things worked out.
My girlfriend was an MT with them for 8 years and quit for health reasons.  She became good friends with one of the HR personell and this is what she was told.  Why in the world go through so much background checks, physical examinations, etc?  It doesn't make sense.  Do they do that for offshore MTs?  BTW - my girlfriend is NOT a liar!!
I haven't worked there in close to a year now, but I was very happy while I was there. nm
:)
TransTech and low/no work for months and months _ don't think there are continous holidays LOL

This HORRIBLE low/no work situation has been going on at TT for almost a year now.  You can't convince me it is due to Memorial Day.  Are holidays now assigned in this world to being daily.

That is an excuse these companies use in these no work situations, but it is due to their OVERHIRING.  Holidays just come on a daily basis, but LOW WORK/NO WORK is happening and has happened going on a year now at TransTech.  Always asking to flex into the middle of the night, EVERY weekend, etc.

The TT mgmt checks are NEVER affected, tho, so they can continue to HIRE EVERY MT who gives them a call, and create a NO WORK situation for all of us.  The newbie MT's are cheering at first, but then realize that it hit them in the paycheck, too, and very soon it did!!!!!!!

My company has been low on work for months and months..sm
Tired of getting the same ol' message that things will pick up.  I remember the days of bonuses, making money and being able to pay my bills!  I am also wondering what is going with these companies not having work.  Is everybody sending work overseas?
Happy New Year. May we all have happy home lives (sm)
and do whatever it takes to make our work lives work for us too.
Right and told we should be happy we have jobs. Not too happy right now.

MDI Maryland HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY
THIS IS NOT MDI IN NY OR FL!!

I can't say enough nice things about this company; very flexible, you area a statutory employee. That means that they pay the employer portion of your SS. Great on time pay, tons of work. Do your lines and you are left alone! Expect to be responsible though. Pay for your phone; rent a Lanier or a C-phone if you don't have one; BayScribe platform. Anything that is a bit of an inconvenience is more than made up for. You will know to the minute how much you will make and how many lines you have typed. Check it out!

I worked for a temp agency for 3 years..LOVED it. Just worked. No counts, no hassels, GREAT pay..
No benefits at the time.  I even learned pathology while temping (8 months on that assigment).  I loved the variety, the ability to say I'm not available such and such time.  I'd do it again in a heartbeat if I didn't need benefits.
A company is ONLY supposed to verify that someone worked there, what dates they worked, whether PT o
and last date worked. It opens everyone up to a lawsuit if more is given, so most companies are told by their attorneys and business advisors to verify only.

No one has a right to a reference, only verification of employment.
It worked! Latest suggestion from DJ's email worked. nm

If I worked a longer day, I just put my regular shift, 3p-11p, or whatever. If I worked sm
an extra day, then I was told to fudge the hours around on the other days so it all came out to 40.  I didn't really mind -- have learned not to expect overtime in this profession -- and I was happy to be able to work whenever I needed to get the lines I needed.  However, them telling me directly to fudge on my time sheet would seem to be a violation of the wage and hour laws.  I suppose it doesn't matter now if they do not even have enough work to make the minimum line count necessary.  Several of the companies I thought were golden seem to have gotten a bit tarnished lately … sad.
Glad it worked for you. I have worked for companies
that were more reliable and paid without the delay I had. Maybe you started before they started doing that but it makes no difference. I TOO am a single parent.

You are not trying to argue? Sounds like you not only are trying to argue but you are just waiting for anyone to post anything about the co on here so you can just get out there and respond, which seems to be the way I have always noticed it. It's like all the MTs or whoever that work there are just waiting to respond.

This board is about the good points and bad points about companies. I am telling my experience.

The people were nice people though, but my experience was not a good one and I will not say it was.

I can go a week after the end of payday and even 10days later but that's it. Kids would starve.
I have been there for almost 4 months..
I have only seen 1 MT leave from my training group, but that was due to a personal health issue.
going on 4 months now
up until last month i had plenty of work.  now none.  it doesnt matter anyway, they will all be going to editing and then you will only get paid 4 cpl.  You will NOT make as much as you did typing.
Four months ago. nm
nm
seems like it was about 2-3 months
but i'm a slow learner too. Still, it takes time to build the shortcuts, and for things to become 2nd nature...
What happens after 8 months?
I'm an IC, so wondering if they'll use and abuse me, and then at 6 months, when it's time to renew my contract, they'll say no thanks after I worked my rear-end off to get them up and going on a new account.

Actually, reading the MQ thread about the % productivity is making me wonder if MQ adapted that from Transcend. You know, one recruiter I talked to mentioned Transcend buying MQ ... hmmmm.
Is 6 months enough for you?
I did not say they left because of no work. I was pointing out that yet another MT did not like the platform. That makes 4 MTs (and I am sure there are many more) who think the platform is hard to use. I know there are current employees who like it or just have nothing to compare it with. The 3 I personally know about all commited to at least 6 months (one was with them over a year) before making a judgment, and they did not feel they could get comfortable enough with the Amphion platform to make a good line count. These are not disgruntled ex-employees. They left under good terms and all said the people were great, but that does not pay the bills. With all the complaining I read on this board, I just think MTs should get all the facts before they decide. Everyone needs to make their own decision. What is a great place for one person, may be the absolute pits for another. But making it sound like it is the best place on earth is also misleading.
been with wmx about 7 months and..
I'm sorry to hear you guys have been having problems with the lines and hours at WebMedX.  I hate to say it, but oh my gosh - have I been in that boat.  I was at 40 hours but then cut back to 35 because I was literally working 10 to 11 hours every day just to make 8 on the clock AND working on my days off, researching ways to make more normals and Expanders and raise my counts.  Some days I was literally so frustrated I just wouldn't even work.  I am now usually around 175-190 lines an hour but I only work on 2 accounts right now and one of those is the one I was absorbed from and where I had worked for 13 years.  FYI: I am now working twice as hard to make half the money I did before.  The only advice I can give you as a 33-year MT, is to make as many normals as you can - and really, really be creative with ShortCuts.  ShortCut anything you possibly can.  I actually think I type in my own weird shorthand now.  I believe there are so many things which are actually logical to shortcut that people never think of - or at least I didn't until I was forced to... If there's anything I can do to help, actual shortcut suggestions or anything, please email me or reply.  I'd be more than glad to help if I could.
I have been with them going on 7 months sm
and they are such a wonderful company. There are things that could be better but the managers and the QA staff are simply great. I think they are probably the fairest company that I have known and I have worked with a number of companies. QA does not beat you up; they are more on a mentoring type of level and do not belittle you. The account I do is hard but I know some that have been on 100% for many months and they still treat them very well.

Anyway, would recommend them highly to any good MT.

Naming a particular time for being on 100% would not really be fair because it varies with so many things, but the fact is that the company does not hold it against you if you are on QA for a long period of time. They know the difficulty of several of the accounts.
I was offered 8 cpl, but that was just for the first 90 days. After that you go into their payplan, and can make either more or less. All depends on your lph rate, QA score, how many reports you send to QA and I think something else.
It was less than 6 months ago - sm
Doubt very much that anything has changed for the better since, and I have EVERY right to beat the same drum for what was done to me. Until you have walked in my shoes, you have nothing to say about what I post here.
It took me months. Sorry:(
nm
Months for me too
I actually worked for them when they were still Edix and I think it was at least 2 months. I even got a letter from them probably a month or so after returning the computer telling me that I needed to return the equipment in order to get my money. Could never get in touch with anyone, but I eventually did get it, just months later
two months in this.....you probably don't know it all yet
I make a higher rate of pay for being an IC as I do not get paid bonus or benefits. Everyone has different reasons for why they want to be an IC. For me....I made too much money to not take the write-offs (I had to take them to avoid paying a high tax rate). I have had to incorporate as well. Not that I wanted to, but if you make high dollars in this field, the more tax shelter you have the better.
First off, it is going to take you 9+ months just
to get your schooling.   Depending on how well you do you might be able to get a job working at home right away, but most likely you will need to get 2 years' experience working in-house for a company or in a doctor's office.  There are may newbies here working for jobs without success.  Once you do graduate and if you have good scores, you can post your resume on the various job sites.  You'd probably have more success that way, as lots of companies don't post openings but hire from the resumes.
It was about 7 months ago.
