I have seen it. Want to see if they can, that is why.

I have seen job ads run on MTstars and MTjobs asking for stuff like this and it is bull. Licensing fee to use their software, C-phones, unlimited long distance, provide expensive equipment to use.  Bull. Lanier wants $350 for footpedal and about $250 for some other piece of equipment.  It only works with Lanier.  Nope, won't do expecially with the pay rates, make zip as is for the expertise expected and provided.  

I have not and will not.  

I provide the PC with much space, XP, MSWord 2003, Med/drug spellcheck, wordexpander, Infinity IN-USB-1 footpedal (the one that works with most platforms) Fax, printer, 5 virus/adware things, DSL,  many reference books, plus internet downloads, my considerable expertise and still we are paid terribly.

It would be like me charging to use my MSWord. Many use Word as an interface to their platform.

SilentType wanted the MT to put down $500, they send you a PC and get refund in 6 months.  Well now!!  That is nothing more than a means to have an interest-free loan to provide the company with PC.  Sweet. I had my own PC, no thanks. And, if there ends up no match, WAIT 6 months to get you $500 back.

They will try it, try anythhing to pass their costs onto the MT.  Don't do it for heaven sakes.  There are jobs out there. Just keep looking.
