experienced and professional MT poster
You are just wrong. I started over 10 years ago when one could make good money working productivity with bonuses and benefits. The behemoth -- the Walmart of transcription - came in and bought most everyone out and reduced line rates and decimated benefits. All others had to also to stay in business. I have a devil of a time making the same wage I made 10 years ago. I recently left a place because I was making $12 an hour - working as hard as I could (less than 1/2 what I usually make). The HR person called and asked why I left. When I explained, she said those days are over and better get used to it. If a CEO increases productivity and profit -- they get millions. MTs are expected to double their productivity while making about half what they used to with VR. Sorry poster, this is reality. If you have prospered, be thankful, but don't put the blame of the dismal working conditions of transcription on disgruntled workers.
Thank you to MT stars
I started with OSi last year then my account coordinator got fired along with a man in technical support. The account has done nothing but flounder since then without a leader. I was fortunately able to find another job thanks to this board. Thank you.
What do the stars mean?
Thank you for posting this list.
Before I go to bed I check MT Stars
Wow. I can really appreciate all of your questions, as I am a transcriptionist.
I am the general manager of MDI and former co-owner of the company.
I am so glad you work for us and honestly, just give me a call tomorrow and I will answer all of your questions.
We are very stable, have been in business since 1972.
Some of our platforms are harder than others, but we do give 40 hours training pay @ $12.00 an hour.
Line counts are usually great. Some are tougher than others, but we try to compensate by paying more.
Dictators - some good, some bad. This is the way it always goes.
WE PAY EVERY TWO WEEKS. We have not missed a payroll since I opened the doors to MDI.
I think our changes are for the better.
We are definitely HERE TO STAY.
Pleae give me a call at the office tomorrow or e-mail me at Liz@medicaldictation.com. I really try not to let my employees down.
Thanks a lot for working for us.
Liz

Try searching MT Stars itself
Instead of Google, try the search for this site. Type in the name of the company and it should bring up information about them. I hope this is what you mean.
MT Stars search...
I haven't looked for it the last few days, but about that same time I posted something and got a response stating MTSOs talked to each other and I shouldn't be talking about the company you are leaving No one but the company I was resigning from knew I was leaving my current employee and I had not pubically discussed the name of my current or prospective employer. I had not disclosed my employment status pubically anywhere on any forum, so how did someone know to say that to me?
re: MT Stars post
Thank you for responding to my post. I would love to which account so I can be on guard (or happy) from the beginning. I am a bit of a workaholic, but I don't want anyone to take advantage of that.
Thank you in advance for your help!
Beth
MT Stars is a board
The only thing about a private board is we don't have to hog a public board.
We can't discuss it on MT Stars
NM
Saw an old post of yours on MT Stars
and it reminded me of how you always seemed to have some great thoughts on the state of the MT business these days. Are you no longer posting there? If not, it's too bad.
Anyway, I wanted to get your permission to quote one of your posts verbatim for an article I'm writing. If you're interested, I'll let you know the details.
To help with the anonymity barrier, I can tell you that I'm a regular old MT grunt currently working for Keystrokes, but that has nothing to do with my writing.
Thanks,
Nancy
Search this board and MT Stars
some posts about them not long ago. Don't remember it being good, but then don't remember much any more.
Do I have this right? MT Stars now supports offshoring?
In reading the revised front page, it appears that, even though staunchly against offshoring, MT Stars now promotes advertising of offshoring companies? I just want to be clear on this.
If you Google MT Stars.com on this pg with Axolotl in there
s
So why not change the policy for the All Stars?
OSI All Stars is a joke if there ever was one. Why not demand the same qualifications in order for them to receive this honor?
I wish I had paid attention to MT Stars
I read all the complaints about OSi on here and accepted a job with them anyway which was the biggest mistake of my life. Then after I was hired they came up with the weird holiday policy. I will be eligible for the holiday pay because I am past 6 months but since none of those days are on my days off I have to work every single one of them and if we run out of work I won't get paid extra - - - - - but I definitely have my applications in elsewhere so I hope I will be gone in a few weeks. I truly truly hate this company and never look forward to starting my shift. And the posts on MT Stars were right about the Q dept. Everybody says something different and their emails are full of errors including the manager's emails. I don't know how they hire some of those people. This is a big mistake. Don't even think about applying for this company. All the bad things you read on MT Stars are true and I really wish I had paid attention to them. Also I keep getting put off about my hire bonus so that is a bait and switch tactic too. They don't intend to pay it. I can see clearly now and I am P***** that I did not pay attention because I consider myself warned a long time ago.
I applied with them before checking with MT Stars...
but their offer was so low-ball I declined, after taking their rather rigorous and pain-in-the-neck test. Then I remembered this board and started reading... and thought phew, I dodged THAT bullet!
I think MT Stars is an excellent way to check out - sm
a prospective employer. In most cases, it's the only communication we at-home MTs have with each other. With the ability to read and assess for ourselves the pros and cons of MTSOs discussed honestly and openly here, we have a better chance of finding the right company.
Never heard of stars and apples
I believe there is a threat to lower pay, although I've never had low scores to find out. I have never heard of stars and apples. I've been around over 7 years and QA has always been about numbers.
pg 4, company board, here on stars
At least one person got fired, supposedly.
But I thought MT Stars does not give that info out- how could they get it?
nm
Use the Google search bar towards the top of the MT Stars site
Make sure that -mt stars- has a dot beside it. Type in the company name and do a search.
Tons of stuff in the archives. Use the MT Stars
search
I'm grateful for MT Stars but wonder if staff or mgmnt
nm
rudeness... it's really what I expect to see on Stars these days.. n/m

Well since MT stars is global you will see Spheris, Medquist, Diskriter, etc. posts sm
so if your going to be unemployed because of offshoring that is to bad. The majority always think of India when it comes to offshore but the Philippines, Australia, Europe, etc. also transcribes.
Why Google web? Compile a Stars company-specific list.
Immediately above the first post about 'Dictation 9 cents' whatever, and next to the 'Post New Message' button is a Search box. Use that one and get what you are looking at - only company specific. Why go outside the source? this is much easier.
Well you are less than professional. Act like
one if you want a professional response. I am not who responded in the post you just responded to but you certainly are not acting like a professional.
That was a very professional
It is professional to do this
I believe you always should leave a company on good terms. Of course, on the other hand, if work is super low and they wouldn't feel the pinch if you left, I think less than 2 weeks would work. I had to do this at my last job. I gave them a week's notice because I just could not afford to work part time at a company where I was promised full time.
Professional Transcriptions
From Florida, any info from anyone on this company?
focus is not professional
I also work for Focus Infomatics, I mean worked. I have been working for months. They payvery poorly 6.5 cents per line. as compared to other companies, that is very low. Also they trick you into thinking it is a transcription job, then they tell you when you are trained, that you are going to be doing editing, without giving you a choice. I am very disappointed with them. I also thought they were good in the beginning. They are not very professional. I would not recommend this company to anyone who is looking for transcription work.
I would think you would know, pay should never be discussed with anyone - not very professional.
nm
I am not your honey...please be more professional (nm)
xx
Professional tester SM
I feel like a professional tester. Tested for so many companies in the last six months I can't remember all of them - not one answer from any of them.
Just tested for Transcription1 and still have not heard from them either. Anybody have any info on this company?
Just my own professional belief sm
I personally do not think that anyone who is taught English as a second language could ever type or edit American English as well as American English-speaking people that are trained to do so unless he/she has solely devoted his/her life to mastering the craft. Granted, there are many, many Americans who do not use the language properly even a little bit, but these people typically do not become MTs either! I cannot imagine learning Russia as a second language, barely being able to articulate it, and then overseeing a born-and-raised Russian's grammar and punctuation skills. Just my personal opinion, of course. I'm sure there are exceptions...somewhere.
I thought she was professional.
I talked with a recruiter once who talked to me like I was her long lost friend... it was kind of distracting.
I like the way the DR recruiter conducted everything. She was professional and pleasant, but not overly friendly.
lol You just did yourself in, professional recruiter!
Buh-bye.
How wonderfully professional you are!
Is this from the same mouth that threaten LEGAL action for imagining having been called a liar? Calling someone a psycho and ignorant? You neglected to mention the NUMEROUS emails you write to me, not just one! Yes, I'm sure anyone checking this site for suggestions or recommendations as to where to work will find this post helpful. they will realize that we have and maintain such a high standard that loons like yourself cannot possibly ever get hired on. For that, we are blessed and quite happy, and successful I might add. You have doctor friends- seek one out and get help. I pray for you...
to the point and v. professional and well-said.

You would think a professional would use the name of her company sm
and not a moniker to post with, plus like the other poster, I am not sure as a potential employee I would need to know about her 26 surgeries (26?!!!). I think I'll pass.
Sorry, I meant Professional. Thanks
Was in a hurry
Actually, this is a professional website and
that is probably why they told you not to mock their advertisers. Put youself in their place. If this was your website, would you want MTs to mock your advertisers?
You are not a professional and by far, your post was not an opinion
It is apparent that you possibly are one of those MTs that has to jump around from company to company.
that's professional of her. Isn't one of them taking today off...sm
Was it Kathy or Colleen? Perfect timing, dontcha think?
Professional Dication Associates
Am looking for more info, I know they use Emdat. Has anyone worked for them who can tell me about part time line requirements, hours and in general how they are to work for? Thank you.
Anyone heard of Professional Transcriptions of NW FL
Any info, good or bad?
Thank you also. Very nicely and professional stated...nm

WHAT? No one holds you back from being professional! OMG!
Talk about utter lack of accountability and responsibility!
You don't have a clue about running a business, the cost of capital, etc.!
You are an angry little person, huh?!
MDI-FL and Cornerstone Professional Services
Could I please hear from anyone who is currently working for MDI-FL or Cornerstone Professional Services. I have searched for both companies, but would like to hear how the people who are still working for these companies like/dislike working for them. Any information would be appreciated...both pros and cons.
Thank you.
Professional Dictation Associates anyone?
Any and all info is appreciated:)
Professional Dictation Associates?
Anyone had experience with them? Archives look positive. I sent a resume and got a quick response back. They want me to test. Curious to know anyone with recent knowledge of them. Thanks!
