You don't have to pay quarterly though, you can pay
yearly, that's all I ever did as an IC anyway. I guess if you do it yearly you have to cough up more at one time.
Quarterly bonuses
Are the quarterly bonuses still being offered for SE's and what about the SE's who have been here for years??
SE's still get quarterly bonuses
I still get quarterly bonuses as an SE..I also have gotten extra for tier work. I dont know what that is all about, I havent asked (dont like dealing with the office much)..What I think, however, is as a part timer, if I do more than 6,000 lines/pay period, I guess I move to a higher tier. I got approximately $30.00 extra a few pay checks ago. It was listed on my pay stub.
Quarterly taxes
I think you just have to make up the difference come tax time. When I called H&R Block, they said the easiest way is to estimate your income and make 25% quarterly payments. So, that is what I will do. Your tax preparer can provide you with a quarterly schedule with dates and amounts, as well as remittance slips and addressed envelopes to make your payments.

Quarterly taxes are not always
an option. Sometimes they are a requirement. You should check with an accountant, but I had a personal experience during my early years of statutory employment status with MQ whereby I did not pay estimated quarterly taxes. Because of some legality, I ended up paying a penalty because according to the IRS I should have been able to predict that my estimated taxes were going to be more than the previous year and therefore I should have paid them ahead.
Again, check with your accountant on that, but I would strongly advise estimated quarterly tax payments.
Quarterly works best.
Take a look at what you paid last year per month, double it and total that and then divide that into 4 quarters and send it to the IRS so that you will have tax credits for your IC status at the end of the year. Call any accounting firm or look on the IRS website for the form. Estimated quartery payments. If not you will owe a boatload at the end of the year. Worst that happens is you get money back!
I understand that, we put in 40 percent quarterly and still had to pay
We dont end up paying for state or federal when we do it and I am an employee.. EVEN putting in 40% quarterly as an IC and taking out the deductions, we still owe.
I am saying - it doesnt work out well for *us*.
Are you paying quarterly taxes? nm
xx
If you're self-employed and don't pay quarterly,
xx
Would recommend paying quarterly, if
you owe too much at the end of the year there can be penalities. When I was just an IC, I set back about 25% of each check to handle my taxes. Now I work FT as an employee and have an IC and just have extra taxes withheld, so do not pay quarterly.
nice quarterly bonus makes up a lot
with Alltype. What you get offered for pay is how well you did on the test and what shift you plan to work.
quarterly bonus from company pool?
Anyone here work for a company that offers a quarterly bonus that comes from a pool set aside by the company and the transcribers who qualify for the bonus, split it at the end of the quarter? Just wondering, if any, are you bonus checks worth the hassle? Are they decent checks? Thanks for all replies.
How do the Proscript quarterly bonuses work? nm

Training on the system, not paid, but if you are physically typing reports then you are getting paid
nm
Oh, yea -- PAID, too. Grandmother PAID LEAVE would be a great drawing card to TT !!
Just love that PAID TIME OFF !!
Any company that makes you wait to get paid until they get paid by the client
is not a company you want to get involved with. That's part of being an MTSO, figuring out how to cover your payroll while waiting to get paid. I would stay away!
Is this a live count of lines paid for or same as CTRL I that we do not get paid for ?? nm
m
Me too.. the outsourced company was paid for and paid me for headers, but OSI does/did not.
x
I have always paid yearly and have never paid or been assessed a penaltly. nm
nm
Be glad you get paid tomorrow. We are paid on the 1st and the 15th, so sm
since the 1st is on a weekend, we don't get paid until Monday. It will happen again on the 15th of August …sigh. It is the only thing I do not like about the company, though, so I guess a few weekends of poverty a year is not too much.
Lori never paid me and now ETC has not paid my friend.
What is WRONG with these companies?
Is it still being paid on time if you are paid on the 1st and 15th.....
and if the 15th falls on a Saturday getting paid on the 17th? My bank is open and posts on Saturday that means I am not being paid on the 15th doesn't? This has happened a lot lately.
At least you get paid, I would rather be paid late than not at all. Just my 2 cents.
nm
Yea, at least u got paid. Everyone who worked for TSI is STILL waiting to be paid
I don't understand how Jayne cannot pay us. We have christmas coming up. I bet her family has a fantastic Christmas because she is using OUR money to pay for it. I worked so hard for her and I know the other girls did too. How insulting that she will not return phone calls or emails or PAY us. How does she look at herself in the mirror knowing that the MTs who did all the work FOR her did not get paid. She even sent me an email saying I give you my word HAHAHA her word is nothing, obviously. Well, I will call the attorney for the THIRD time and see what is going on.
To the poster, at least you got paid even if it was late. I sincerely hope you get your last check.
Spaces, paid or not paid. Do you know? sm
I just started with a company and when I asked specifically if I would be paid for spaces, they said yes. When I started using their program I noticed that the line count for each job did not include spaces. I checked it with more than one program. I called them and they said there was a glitch in the program that would be fixed. It has been almost two months now and that glitch is still not fixed. My checks do not include spaces either. No one at the company knows what is up. I can't believe I am the only one at this company who has deduced that they are not paying for spaces. So, do you check your line counts to see if spaces are included? You might be in for a surprise. Man, I am tired of being burned when I am a reliable and honest IC. Maybe time to do something else. Thanks for listening.
You get paid when SHE gets paid from the client...sm
I don't like that at all.
Getting paid
You're absolutely right. Since it is part of our jobs, that means we should be paid for it. I'm in total agreement, we are ending up providing a lot of "freebies" MTSOs need to be aware that transcription involves more than just typing lines; there is "research", and the research part, which is actually bigger than the typing part, is not being compensated AT ALL. And GOOD MTSOs and GOOD MTs recognize that. BAD MTSOs and MTs that are truly "lucky" to be employed don't get it. Frustrating, isn't it?
it did say that we get paid if
DEP goes down (at a reduced rate of course to be found on Qnet or some such place). But no mention of what happens when we RUN OUT OF WORK which will be a daily occurrence when everyone starts sitting 39 hours or 24 hours and holidays. You could at least count on work the week after a holiday, not so anymore I guess.
you get paid for
stuff going wrong with DEP platform and you have to go on Qnet to find out the specifics. This packet doesn't address running out of work, if I am wrong someone please come on to correct me.
Not being paid
Wow!!! I was not paid my last paycheck too! I was assured that this NEVER happens and they were very sorry, etc. When I asked where my paycheck was - their response was what pay are you expecting? I did get may pay, and since then I have not had a problem... but now reading what you said about MTs not getting paid on other boards that makes me very nervous - family to feed, mortgage to pay, on and on and on.
Do you mean not paid at all?
nm.
Getting paid
Hi Everyone, I'm new to this forum and very happy I heard about you. I work for a company who has a big problem paying on time as well as the correct amt. The initials are BT (maybe the same B listed in a previous posting). They advertised for a $1500 sign on bonus, but I cannot get anyone to return my Emails or phone calls regarding this. They also advertise 24/7 Tech and management support, that's a joke. The manager has never even been an MT. If you want to discuss things with this manager, they blow you off. But the company advertises that they care about their MTs. Obviously, I'm looking elswhere, but cannot believe this continues to go on with these companies and nothing is done. When I find something else, I will write to MT Daily and tell them what happened. They are a reputable website and I do not think they would appreciate all the false advertising this company is doing. Any suggestions and/or advice is welcome.
Really? They paid me 9 cpl (sm)
this past September, but it was still impossible to make any money given the horrendously bad platform, IMO.
They paid 9 cpl (sm)
to my friend, but it was a horrible place to work: NO communication whatsoever (she was without work for 1-1/2 weeks, unable to contact anybody via email or phone), had to work on clunky DOS program via the hospital with laggy web server, so unable to do more than 100 lph, and they paid with paper checks, often late. Couldn't understand how she could be considered an IC with the company calling all the shots like that (ICs use their equipment, programs, not the hospital's), so I told her to file the forms with the IRS and Dept of Labor to get the situation reviewed; don't know if she ever did.
I get paid...
3200/mo (hourly/incentive) as a remote hospital employee on 1 job. Approximately 2800/mo (production) on another job.
Dang, doesn't look like any of us sleep.
How much are you getting paid per cpl?
That seems like an awful lot of money to be making unless you're getting a high rate. Most offers I see are avg .07-8. Highest I've seen is .10. What companies pay high rates? I'd really be interested. My company went out of business. I was making .13 cpl, but at 80 characters w/o spaces, which is still higher than .075 for 65 characters with spaces. I just accepted a position at that rate and am concerned about my income. I was earning about $25 an hour, which will now be cut 20% at this new rate plan. I only have 2 years experience with medical transcribing, but have been a typist for many, many years.
Any direction would be appreciated.
I'm not a CMT, but I get paid as if I was. nm
I have not been paid either
I started in January and still have yet to be paid. I have started filing against them in small claims.
I have not been paid
And I started in January. Steer clear.
They never paid me and they lie a lot too.
What a joke that company is.
I have been paid for three
hope to make more. The referral program just restarted and I know of one MT who is currently looking. The bonus is paid after 90 days and they now will pay a referral for either full time or part time.
Not getting paid
I just heard word that a big client did not pay them on time so that's why the employees are not getting paid. They should have told the employees that, but maybe they were afraid everybody would leave. Who knows.........
When we get paid!
I noticed that too, and wondered about the when or could it be an if?
many MTs get paid this
nm
Did you get paid?
Email me off line if not, for a suggestion.
I got paid
the most unprofessional company I have ever seen. Stay far far far away. Everybody is quitting anyway and they pay on the l-o-w side.
I cannot get paid from them either.
My lawyer has contacted, or tried to contact them, and the owner will not return his calls. They should be shut down. If there are 2 of us, there HAVE to be more.
GET PAID
You could send them a letter stating that you will be contacting the physician/group you did the work for and they may be called to testify in court. Another thing that works is contacting the group or physician you did work for and ask them if they still use the company and let them know that you did not get paid and that doctor/doctors may be called to testify in court. They hate that but it does produce results.
How often are you paid?
Every week, other week, etc?
Thanks!
D&L still have not paid up
They owe me over six weeks worth of work... they have not paid a lot of us and I was not with the big account they lost... I was an IC and they bounced my pay checks and then kept saying its in the mail nothing but liars... As soon as I quit, they refused to pay me. I sure hope the talk of the PA Labor board is real.. I dont live in PA... They know that they are not going to pay any of us. They should be in put out of business. DON'T work for them, they are con-artists. Very very dishonest people For those of you who don't know there names are John and Donna Marino. Their daughter works for them too!
Has anyone gotten paid by D&L yet?
just wondering, I have not gotten paid yet!!
