issue can this be. Also, is the sound on these accounts poor. That is the other problems I have heard people comment on. I was really looking for uptodate comments. How bad are these issues at present. I dont want to leave one company with no work problems and go to another one with the same problem. I cant be available 24/7 to get work with having a family.

No, Paul, you are not. Left last year due to lack of work, but not lack of respect. It's a shame
I liked 'em a lot.
Left 3 months ago for lack of work
and haven't looked back. It is just the nature of the beast than when a network of accounts change to VR and MTs are doing more lpd now, there will be less work to spread around. There were already problems with not having enough work, so I did not wait for the transition to VR I had already moved down over the previous year from full time to part time because of lack of work. Glad I made the move because I am also the sole breadwinner for my household and can't afford to go without work.
I just left a company due to lack of work, Monica.
I worked there for over a year...left because of lack of work...
one months lots of work, the next three months no work, so on and so forth...when there is a little extra work they do a big hire and once again the faithful MTs who stick by them have no work...I have been gone for over a year and it is still the same way...
I worked in acute care and left due to lack of work.
My primary was just overflow, though they didn't tell us that. I had followed the account from another company and there should have been 3 times the work. Every week I was asking for a new account because they kept giving me accounts that were evidently overlow or otherwise very low volume accounts and I still wasn't getting 20 hour/week.
Has anyone recently left Futurenet Tech due to their lack of work over the past several weeks? nm
d
Great people to work for, but I had to leave due to lack of work. Hopefully that has changed. SM
Most of us who do not live in California had to go IC. When I was there, they did not have statutory status, although they told me they did when they hired me. Their pay for VR is VERY low, not a living wage. Many of the folks in the office are ex-YOG and great to work for/with. Good luck.
I have heard they will have three main offices. Is there a reason Amherst is so short of work. What
is it they are trying to accomplish. They must be losing MTs if there is no work. No the new ASR rate is not out yet. If it goes low you will see an exodus off ASR I guess so that will mean more MTs on the regular work. It will be a big shock for some of them to see what that is like now.
Typical year round. They overhire. I left due to lack of
work. About 6 other MTs left when I did, that I am aware of, due to lack of work. There are accounts with a lot of work and frequent OT, but I was told they couldn't be worked on as a secondary account. Made no sense at all to me.
I liked it there as well - only reason I left
was the platform didn't work with satellite and I am so remote it is the only option available for high speed so best wishes.
Left for much the same reason
Not sure the manager I had ever did any type of QA or even had much experience before either
I actually left for the same reason as you ..
nm
She was the reason I left too - (sm)
and I have NEVER in my whole carerr had any problems anywhere I worked. I left just to get peace of mind back....If she is there, be careful....
I left for the same reason and doing very well now. nm
:)
I left for the same reason --
After 2-1/2 years, my cpl rate went from 11-3/4 to 6 because of their tier and them not providing me the work. Not only was I not getting as many lines, but taking almost half the pay and they were still of course getting the full amount from their clients. And the whole time they were advertising for more transcriptionists. I complained because obviously my line count could not improve to the 20000 per pay period I was used to if they were putting more and more on my account and they just said they had to keep new people trained for new accounts. Of course, they make a lot more money if they keep more transcriptionists and have everyone puttnig out lower line rates. They are the only winners.
ANOTHER reason why I left
a week ago. I had to work every Saturday...no more! :)
I left OSi for Medware for this very reason
And glad I left!
The pay cut I was asked to take was a reason I left.
T and M couldn't afford to keep me at the same pay level either which stunk because you were a very nice company to work with.
That was the main reason I left. It still is horrible. nt
Oh for heavens sake! Did it occur to you that maybe she left there for a reason? She
addressed that when she came to Transtech and emphatically that she was not interested in offshoring and they are not going to offshore. Sheesh! She worked for ONE company that offshored and she left that for a reason (didn't like offshore).
Sound files still bad, main reason I left. nm
Nice people, use ExText. Lack of communication with the higher ups and especially QA
s
Reason being a lot of MQ people went to TT sm
What did everyone expect? I almost went with them, but I hung in there and from the sounds of things, I'm glad I did :)
Might be for same reason the MQ people sued -
Line counts!!!!!!!! Do you ever verify yours against another program? What about the reports typed but not credited for.
The reason people bad mouth them is
because not everyone has it as peachy as you do. Some are constantly in the c-pool or run out of work. Some have PS's that do not communicate anything. Some have ASR accounts that are so bad they have to erase everything and start all over. Some get reprimanded for punching in 5 minutes late while some punch in an hour late and get no discipline.
Some have rad accounts that pay for each separate body part while others lump it all into 1. I don't do rad personally, but I've seen enough of it to know that it doesn't pay fairly - it's by the report with some reports being counted as 1 while some are separated into reports per body part.
While I'm about 75% happy with MQ, there are many that aren't that happy and even some that are happier than that. There are just too many variables at MQ, which is probably what irritates me the most. Second in line is the fact I haven't had a raise in more than 5 years and my current pay rate isn't that great. I personally don't care for E-time (our timecard system), but that's because I don't like any timecard system.
The best advice I can give you is if you are currently employed, do not quit that job until you've tried out the new place for a while and you know it's a good fit. Good luck.
Kudos for trying, QA, but you can't reason with these people
I'm with a few other posters, good riddance to them. They mock all reason and logic, and instead stick firmly to their narrow-minded beliefs.
I've given up. Let 'em go. TT is undoubtedly better off without the lot of them.
I agree. I think the reason why people crab about not
just as with many other companies, TT has trouble trying to hire for overnight, 2nd, 3rd shifts, and weekends. People want day, so TT hires them for day. But it is a 24-hour 7 day business and the docs generally dictate in the afternoon or late evening for the work they did that day and for the preadmissions for the next day, or emergencies. A long time ago when I worked in house I realized that working a different shift than everyone else would benefit me pay-wise, and work-wise, and now since I am at home, TT has worked with me to have a great schedule. Why great? I am flexible enough to work when other people are not willing to work, and TT appreciates that so in return they allow me to split my time working so I do have time to be with my family. The MTs who want day and only day, no weekends, etc. I am not blaming them, but that is where the work is eaten up by everyone else not willing to flex. Any company whether IC, SE, or Employee will have the same problem. Sorry such a long note, but I have not run out of work at the odd hours, and I don't believe that I will.
The reason PT people have a hard time/
is because the majority of PTers are very cavalier about schedules. They log on or log off at will, despite the fact they agreed to work specific days and hours. I'm sure you are very reliable, but even the company I work for will not hire PT anymore because they are either undependable or they work a month or two and quit. That's a lot of energy the company has to put in for no payoff.
Same reason people type "I could of" instead of "I could have," I guess, or sm
say I could care less, when the phrase is I couldn't care less.
I heard even the recruiter left!
nm
I left the day I heard this news about TT and VR, found another job in under 24 hrs sm
I felt it was an insult. Having tried it, been frustrated with the lack of information about how they want the job done...I left ASAP. I am on to greener pastures as an IC and yesterday was offered a full time employee text only, more than TT is paying for text.
Hats off to those who stayed and can make it work.
Soooo many people have left!
I know that at least 20 or so people quit around the same time I did! Even though it is super annoying, it is sometimes funny to read their e-mails when they are panicking because they don't have enough people.
You see - all the good people have left OSI
She was super. She was treated very very badly at OSI. We will all be in better shape very soon as long as we can get another job before they are all taken. I think alot of people are leaving Medquist and they are going to be grapping some of the available jobs too. The old saying- Time is of the essence.
Thank you for your support. I know who you are. :)
Run by people who left MedQuist...probably fed up
xx
There were just posts about SR people being left go
typing. Something smells fishy there.
may people have left spheris sm
Yes, I worked for them for 9 years and finally had to leave because they cut may pay in half. At least 4 people from my team alone have left, and I suspect many more are leaving. Horrible insurance with sky-high deductables, abusive team leaders, no holiday pay, expectations to work most holidays. I never got a raise in 9 years. Terrible place, they just keep cutting benefits/pay/perks.
Yes, some really great, talented people have left, and that's
always a danger sign to me. If upper management keeps being mentioned as a reason these good people are leaving, somebody should take notice. This company seems to be hemorrhaging talent and keeping an incompetent, power-hungry suit. It's hard to know whether to leave or stay. I would not recommend them to anyone right now.
LACK OF WORK ALWAYS
I've started looking for a new job - never enough work -I bet it is going to the new center in India.
Lack of work
Anyone out of work at FutureNet?
There is ALWAYS lack fo work there...
Then MANDATORY OVERTIME when there is work.
The lack of work got you too huh? nm
No lack of work!!!!
If you are running out of work, then you need to discuss your work types with your Account Lead/Supervisor. Sometimes there is a lack of work in the morngings 6 a.m. to noon Eastern time, but there is always work available on the second shift and third shifts. If you want to work, there is work. If you are scheduled to work that day and nothing down loads, leave your Word Client up, and the jobs will download as they are available. Be flexible on your hours, try some different work types, ask for an additional backup account. There is work if you want it. I have never been completely without work for an entire day and it is rare that I do not make line counts. NO, I AM NOT MANAGEMENT, I AM AN MT THE SAME AS YOU ARE.
No lack of work with me either sm
and I work days on that nightmare account that everyone hates. Come work with me! I'll gladly share! No complaining here.
lack of work
I am not getting enough work and need a second job. Some of you work for more than one company. How do you coordinate your hours between two or more companies when you don't know what hours you are going to be out of work on your primary job?
lack of work
Thanks for the suggestions. When I started this job there was plenty of work. My mold is that there is not enough work now, but knowing that when I change, my line count and income will plunge until I get up to speed. That's my hesitance of leaving. Don't want to get hungry. When we trained for transcription, nobody mentioned that aspect. I've noticed by the threads I read that a lot of you generally switch jobs until you find accounts you can make money on.
Lack of work
Okay, OSi -- I don't normally bash a company publicly, but you've pushed me to my limit. I am tired of having no work, or very little, with no explanation whatsoever from the powers that be. A little honesty would go a long way. You do realize that your employees are depending on their jobs for an actual paycheck -- they don't just work for the heck of it, right?!
What happened to a company owned by former MTs who understand us?! Where are you guys now, and how would you feel if you were in our situation? When your offshoring practices come back to bite you in the rear (and they will), just remember that you made your bed and you are the ones who will have to lie in it!
lack of work
If that is the case then I will not be there long. I only give a company a week as far as keeping me busy and I mean during the day, not midnight!! During holidays I have always had work as well. On interviews a couple of times and also on reading the posts here people mention that it is normal in this business to have slow periods and not to expect as much work during those times. Say what?? I am not talking about an employer only saying this but the MTs as well and they accept it and go without work!! I am not saying the hospital dictations don’t fluctuate because they do but if a company is managed properly, a company who cares about their MTs will for one not over hire and secondly for holidays they will have the right amount of people slotted for vacation in order for the people who are left working to be kept busy. I mean it is never a perfect science in this business, that’s impossible, but a company should operate in a way that is organized with the MT in mind instead of feast or famine!! Also if TOT is running behind then it’s bonus time!! Wouldn’t that be more cost effective anyway?? I guess not for the companies that are ran that way. Wouldn’t you want your MTs to be happy so the turnover is low or instead do you look at us as expendable? I don’t know about these big MTSOs these days. What it boils down to is I do not have the patience or time for companies that will not allow me to make a good living because that immediately tells me that they do not care about their MTs. I know usually in just a few days whether I want to stay or not. There are other reasons I will not stay as well, the usual complaints such as a bad platform, horrible account, being unorganized, etc.
It sounds like maybe that is how MDI operates or maybe they lost an account or two. Well that couldn’t be the case if they just hired me along with the other gal who posted before me and obviously there are others. That tells me that possibly some accounts are overstaffed and others aren’t so I will mention to her tomorrow that I need an account that is understaffed.
The problem right now is I am stuck because of the health insurance issue. I had to take the job because I was on Cobra at the time and ever since my line counts have dropped. I had never experienced what other MTs were complaining about with their experiences. Well now I know!! Where I work now I use ExText which I love and the account is good. It is their line counting methods that have made my line counts drop. I know how many lines I do an hour which range 325-375 on every account I have ever done for different companies yet I cannot achieve that here so I know darn well I am being scammed especially considering I have already used this platform before and made my 350+ lines so it is blatantly obvious.
So because of that I am not only going to be PT for MDI, or whoever it ends up being, but I am also looking for another employee position so I can get out of here. I see some people on the posts say they love working at this company and knock the ones who say negative remarks for different reasons but also about the line counts. I just don't get how they could love it there when I have a good account and platform and there are some nasty accounts there, so why am I struggling and they aren’t? Maybe it is not that I am struggling but that they have never done more than 1200 lines in 8 hours and are happy and used to that so it works for them. I am assuming but that is all I can come up with.
That is why I have been so frustrated in the past 2 years finding a good company to work for. I think it is because I am wasting my time putting resumes out to these larger companies. I need to work for small to mid-sized companies again but I need insurance. I do know that some have insurance but it is a rip-off. My husband’s is too expensive too. Well enough complaining. I refuse to give up and settle though!! Off to bed for yet another low production day.
No lack of work here...
I guess the choices some of us make are better than others. And, no, I do not work for a national. Maybe I will have to some day, and believe me when that day comes, I won't wait until I can't feed my kids to try and find that job. I'll be looking as soon as I think I'm in trouble, and I won't be posting on here for a pity party either.
Lack of work
I also checked with supervisor about my account possibly being in Chartnet to explain the lack of work and was told when my account moves over then I move over, so this obviously is not the case. I don't know what is going on, but this is very unusual except around holidays.
