R U speaking from personal experience w/Webmedx?
I have heard good things - sm
I even spoke to the owner on the phone - SUPER nice. I couldn't take the position right now due to personal reasons but would definitely go with them in the future if need be. A current employee likes it there that I spoke to.
I heard good things about them, but I have to
I really do not like that Oak site, I have tested through that before and lots of hoops to jump through... I don't know if I have the time to take it, the company would have to be really really worth it for me to take the time to test with that software. Just my 2c.
I have heard only good things about MDI-FL and have talked to the sm
owners myself. They seem to be very nice people who care about their transcriptionists. They are MTs themselves, something that helps in this business.
I know they have grown this past year. They probably found the two or three MTs that move from company to company, always finding fault and always bashing the one they quit or were terminated from. It is just MDI-FL's turn to be bashed. I am sure that most people reading this board take it all with a grain of salt.
If you love the company you work for - stay with them. Obviously you found a great fit. I am fortunate enough to have MTs like love working for us (not saying who I am as I promised my staff I would stay away from here) and fortunate enough to have applicants that don't take the bashing on these boards as gospel.
I've heard good things about both...sm
but which one pays better? I'm curious to know too as I thought about applying for eMTS. Let us know. TIA
I've heard good things about MDI.
Sorry, I'm not part time so that's all I can offer. Felt I should write something as poster below didn't seem to realize this company board is for asking and discussing companies.
Heard good things about Landmark, so went sm
to their website. It states you must work both Saturday and Sunday. I might have read it wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's what it said.
I would love a M-F job and wouldn't mind working one weekend day, but not both.

What kind of changes? I am looking to apply there and have heard good things. I don't want
to go in blind, but all the postings are so vague. Can you give me an example so I can decide for myself?
Do you mean Axolotl? If so, I've heard many good things about them. nm
nm
I have heard good things about New England in the past
don't know if that has changed. I would also throw in a vote for TransTech. After cycling through several other companies, I have finally found a home with Transtech and I am very happy there.
What a shame, I had always heard good things about QT Medical. (sm)
I hope they had been kind enough to forewarn their employees or at least provide severance pay. Good luck to all their people. Many people hiring hope you all find a good home quickly.
I have heard really bad things from QA about our overflow that goes to Amherst. Not good quality and
clients complaining because the MTs that are getting the work are making mistakes and not reading the client profile. Good way to lose accounts.
I've heard only positive things about them. So, I applied, but haven't heard a word. Maybe fl

My personal experience has been...SM
I've been there via Total eMed for over 6 years now. I have never been out of work for any longer than I chose to be.
I also never have had a problem meeting minimum, even if I did change accounts a couple of times within the period. It's not that difficult if you've got the basic entries in your expander.
Good experience with supes overall. They've allowed me to change my schedule and flex whenever I needed to. Benefits and HR teams very helpful.
Co-workers are THE BEST! Helpful and willing to share tips and information.
Pay is on time, benefits are reasonable, and they are working to improve with MT input.
Of course a large national won't make everybody happy and it's not the right fit for everyone, but if you must have benefits, you could do far worse than Spheris.
don't have personal experience with
in an earlier post, they said something like the lines would be longer than usual (meaning smaller margins/fonts), and they only pay $1.50/page. I would want to ask about what the length of the lines and the average length (or lines) per report to make sure the pay is fair.
Say there are 10 lines at 65 characters per line per report, that is 15 cpl; but if the font and margins fit 90 characters per line, then it is not such a good deal.
And how many trained MTs have done phone interviews? Seems they would be advertising to a different work pool. I kinda wonder if they know what they're doing.
personal experience...
Very, very nice people, very conscientious. Platform all right, but line counts seemed to take longer to make for me. Had to have unlim. LD and that was the big problem for me. I also spent a lot of time dialing into accounts looking for work. Good QA, good tech support. Wish it was all via Internet. I also did not want to be responsible for my taxes (just lazy, I guess!). DId like the flexible scheduling. If you want to be IC and don't mind the LD, it's a great place.
I don't have personal experience
with Apex, although I hear it's pretty cool. My account is still on DOS and I have absolutely no problem with that. We have DOS and internet accounts, so I would recommend them to anyone who doesn't have access to high speed internet. I've been there over 4 years and do quite well. There's a new pay structure in place recently as well. They're worth checking into. I do work a lot of OT but I don't mind since I'm a single mom. The money is good, and I work extra when my baby is with her dad. It works for me.
Just personal experience, that's all.
.
No personal experience with either though
Keystrokes would be my choice based on what I have read on the boards.
No personal experience, but..sm
I work for MQ and posted a frustrated post a week or so ago and received a private email from an MT who had left MQ recently and went to JLG and she loves it there.
I talked with them 10 or so years ago when MQ bought out my company and they seemed nice and I would have taken the position, but just had too much on my plate at the time to move jobs - and then MQ got better for me, so I stayed.
Ready to leave again now and after getting that email from a fellow co-worker, I think I'd try JLG.
From personal experience
From personal experience with over 20 years of acute care and moving to radiology, I think it is easier for an acute care MT to move to say radiology or pathology than it is to go the other way. Radiology and path can be challenging as well, but I think what really slows me down with acute care is the drugs and all the labs. Not that I'm not familiar with the terminology, but just because the numbers for me anyway, slow me down. I think it can be OVERWHELMING to transition from radiology to AC. I say this with some certainty because I have worked for companies when I have been responsible for training radiology MTs to do acute care and training acute care MTs to do radiology. I just think it's an easier transition TO radiology FROM AC, not the other way. I hope you will be able to hang in there and stick it out. Sounds to me like the recruiter doesn't really understand what each job entails. Unfortunately, the recruiters rarely understand what our job entails. I'd talk to your direct supervisor rather than the recruiter if that's an option.
I can only tell you my personal experience sm
which I did. Anything else would be gossip. I was not an MT with them so cannot speak from an MT standpoint. ESLs were not bad - but things have changed drastically since then - found out later they did overflow for Medquist and not sure now which accounts are really theirs.
No personal experience, but...
... I have a friend who works there and DESPERATELY wants to get out. I think she said she's on something like 50 different accounts (!) which is completely untenable because she gets them at random, and there's no WAY anybody can be expected to learn 50 different sets of account instructions, so that slows the production waaaaay down, because she constantly has to look things up.
As always, others' mileage may vary.
not always true - from personal experience -
clients were told that I was editing all their work - I was not.
What a Hoot! Yep, I have personal experience with
Bet this thread will get deleted by morning. Heavens, run from a Christian company that plays the Christian card. I have run into two - TRS and Transcend. Both totally lied to me about their plans for offshoring, as in international labor partners! TRS was in the process of actually training their own batch of Trinidad MTs, while Transcend was doing the same thing, all while swearing to me that they would never entertain the idea - America only!! Yep, they didn't entertain the idea, they were doing it at the time of the lie! So guess that might count a wee bit less than a bald face lie?? Now when I hear someone play the Christian card at me as a potential employer, I run. Immediately. The true ones don't have to wear it on their sleeve. They just have integrity and can usually tell someone with similar values.
Not an overstatement by my personal experience.
Texas and Alabama. Boston was a trip too but, I just couldn't pahk the cah in the right space I guess.
are you serious? This board is for MTs to get information about companies from personal experience.
nm
The answers provided are based on my personal experience only
need any information you can give me on Medware. What they pay, (depends on your experience) platform (Merit), training (frustrating, on par with many companies in like field), do you pay deposit for computer (you supply your own), what they are like to work for (depends on who your Team Lead is), work (feast or famine), offshore (Yes), etc. I need it quick and any help would be much appreciated. Thanks
Well, I never heard back from them, even after I sent tons of e-mail and personal phone calls
And, I am sure I nearly aced the test. Very simple.
No. Expect good things, and good things will come
x
Good for you! I'm not telling, either! It's personal! nm
x
The only things I heard about them
and the test is long and tedious and then you have to work I believe an entire month before your first paycheck.
Because of all the great things I have heard here - sm
I just finished filling out my paperwork for Futurenet. I have been looking for 3 months, contemplated many offers and turned down many offers. I think this is just what I am looking for.
The autocorrect that you use - is this the feature that is in the word program? I was told that there is a word Expander in their program. Do they mean Autotext? If so, is it easy to use? Thanks!
I heard great things too
which is why I am so hesitant to even consider looking elsewhere. Hope we hear something tomorrow. Feel free to email if you find out anything.
I had heard so many great things about KS too, though
it was mainly only a couple of MTs that posted. I want to do more than be an MT and I thought KS would be a good company that I could advance with.
It just did not turn out to be a good experience for me. They talked a good talk, but they never followed through with the raises or anything else. I never ever got paid for OT, yet was asked to work extra during my work days and asked to work on my scheduled days off. I worked because I needed the money, but 8 cpl just wasn't worth it. I also had a lead that wasn't very good and you might as well have talked to the wall.
I think there are worse companies out there and if you are coming from MQ they might seem pretty good. If you go back and reread your post it sounds like it is a no brainer.
Any personal experiences with Northeast Transcription; good, bad or ugly?nm
xx
Things are not good there now. Think only hiring for 2nd and 3rd shiifts. Good luck. nmx
x
I have heard terrible things about SoftScript. I was hired by them, but..
Was really appalled with what they asked. Did you see that disclaimer yet? Veto.
Evidently, we at Webmedx are to believe things are going well. So well, in fact, we will have a special meeting. Ha. Can't wait.
Agree with the above poster that those are never good. Some are distracted by the whole rah-rah atmosphere. But most of us know we are screwed.
I would think Web folks are less srewed than SS, though.
I have no idea...ask MTME. I've heard bad things about MDI-MD and am not interested! n/m
.
depends on your experience, your speed - a bunch of things.
x
I've heard mixed things about MediTech platform...can anyone weight in on (sm)
its pros and cons? I'm going to be learning it in my new job soon. I couldn't find much in the archives that is very recent. Thanks.
WEBMEDX - I found fairly favorable things about them in the archives..does anyone
know if they still pay by minutes of transcription rather than per line? I saw that in one past post. Would love to hear from anyone either via e-mail or post here if you work for them and are still happy? Thanks.
I heard a few will go VR at WebMedX (sm)
So far, my accounts have stayed regular ol' typing. The impression I got from my manager's e-mail was that they'd start VR on a few accounts and that it was up to the clients which method they preferred.
Not happy about this, but nothing's changed for me so far, and I've been really really happy with them in general...
I have heard Webmedx does
as I don't work there. I think affordable health insurance anywhere is a thing of the past.
Had the same happen here, heard the same thing, good references and good ....sm
job record will get you better $$$ if you are willing to promote yourself, search like crazy, talk to everyone, etc., but I have never been paid a cent more for CMT, what a waste, and all the years I paid my dues to AAMT, what a joke, they did NOTHING to better our field, just took the money for better conventions, as far as I can see.
Webmedx hires some ICs. Good company. So sorry for your loss. Good luck!
x
I work for Webmedx and HAVE heard of J&J. sm
Webmedx has brought on ICs from other companies before. All of this info isn't going to reach the MTs. As it is in the rest of the industry is the way it is at Webmedx. We hear things through the grapevine often long after they happen. We're on a need-to-know basis, with the top management thinking that MTs don't need to know these things. Webmedx stinks along with the rest of them. They spread their people thin. They rarely promote from within. They just make people take on more and more duties. The best advice is just to get out of this field.
I have heard anywhere from 3.5 to 5 cpl depending upon your experience.
When there is steady work, they are awesome. Sometimes, it is feast or famine.
All good things come to an end.
The gun replaced the bow and arrow. We all know what happened to those feckless fellows who refused to upgrade their hardware.
The automobile replaced the horse and buggy, the farrier and the buggy companies had to specialize or find a new trade.
Technology is a fact of life.
Maybe transcriptionists will be phased out, but life truly does go on, even if you and a few of your friends decide to dig in your heels and refuse to accept it. The awful truth of the matter is that you may eventually be replaced. It's time to think about preparing for the future rather than perseverating on the past.
Nothing but good things to say about them....
I was with them for a short time. I saw their add and considered sending my resume. They are very family oriented and the platform was fantastic. I love the owner's Dani/Scott. I can't say anything bad about them...I wish that I was still there but found something more in my field of psyche...
