I guess I am lucky. I must work for

someone else/different account at Meridian. I have heard several unpleasant things about them on this board. I have been there almost 2 years and never had a problem with them.

I guess I am lucky, then
I tried 2 jobs, but split my efforts and that did not work. I resolved to do well on my 1 job, and am rising up the tiers. I keep in close contact with supervisor, and always say I'd be willing to train on other accounts (learned if you do that you never will run out of work). I just thank my lucky stars that I am able to be in a place where I can communicate and they will let me learn. I have 2 whole hospital systems to do all work types, and I can type extra if I would like. I just wish you could find something like that so you aren't going crazy working for several jobs. I think we MTs should have stable jobs like most of the rest of the world, and sometimes I am very sad at what most of us go through or have gone through. Good luck!
I guess I must just be lucky with my account. I rarely run s/m
out of work, and if I do, it doesn't last more than 15 minutes or so. Holiday periods will bring longer periods of no work, but still not very long. I can usually take a break, eat, go outside for a few minutes. I love my accounts, too.

That being said, I do feel badly for those who have to deal with this. In the year or more that I have been with the company, I have run out of work maybe 10 times. My accounts have little turnover, and this may be why. I hope it gets better for those who are having this problem frequently. that must be very frustrating :-(
I guess I have been lucky to have worked for 3 great companies. The only problem with the 2 before
is that they both were sold to companies that were not U.S. only and I refuse to work for any company the sends work offshore.

I am happy at Keystrokes and know that others are too. I have gotten everything promised to me, even though I must admit that I do not ask for much. I just want to do my work and leave my desk when done and then get paid for what I did.

I hope you find a great company that fits your needs. It must be horrible to be burnt enough times that you have to doubt everyone. I feel like that in my love life (divorced 3 times).
Lucky You ... I was not so lucky to work with that platform
Meditech - it was awful. I kept getting promised that my account was going to ChartMatrix, but it never happened and the Meditech system was SO slow. I loved TH, the people, etc. - so if you can get an account that is on ChartMatrix - hop on it. But, avoid the accounts that are on Meditech because I don't think they are EVER going to convert (and I waited quite awhile - couldn't take it any more).
You are lucky if this is the 1st year for low work. It's been
nm
You are lucky you work on eScription then... Try

MedQuist's ASR and report back!   It doesn't learn anything and gets worse daily!

I will trade for your $16 an hour anyday.  I am down to under 10 and only 4 years ago was around $25.

Not complaining about wages not going up but certainly would like them to remain the same!!!!

Even if you're FT, you'll be lucky to have enough work to get your lines,
x
I guess if could not keep enough work...
to keep me busy, I would play police on the boards too, but I do, so I don't!  As the poster was not identified, I can only guess at who it is. as I stated...and yes, both were paid what they were owed per the contract.  Now, sorry, must run, have a busy day and already spent my few free minutes of personal time and need to dive back into working.
Ok, guess KS it is..does anyone work on
Meditech magic platform? Is it easy to get the 1200 required lines per day.

Also, they said it is a new account, and there is loads of work, never a problem, always looking for OT on the account too, so off I go!

Thanks to all of you for your time and input! I sincerely appreciate it! I love this website!
Let me guess - you work for the Q

Guess we need to work 24x7 !?!
What is this world coming to?
I guess it just depends on where you work
I get a yearly raise automatically after a short evaluation in the office.
Guess everyone has a different experience. I work
at Meridian and have not once been yelled at, even when I made a horrific mistake (pulling up wrong patient to transcribe report on). I have been there just over a year and absolutely love it.
Let me guess, you only work day shift Mon-Fri? sm
that's the only way you can be out of work for weeks as you say. Every Friday and Saturday the accounts I work on are out of turnaround time and our STM begs BEGS BEGS for MTs to help.
I guess you'll find out when you go to work there....sm
Just be sure to not resign from Transcend until you see if this other company is truly all they told you they would be.
guess you are an expert on the company I work for??
The more we type, the bigger our so-called incentive. Few lines, less money. Funny how that seems to work!
I guess that is what they call work ethic - sm
But even though it is hard, it depends on what is most important to you, cooking, cleaning, doing laundry, or earning a living. When I first started this work at home, I told myself that I would do anything and I mean anything, to be successful. Even if it meant working until midnight, and believe me, there have been times when I HAVE worked until midnight and beyond, just to meet my TAT, but I did it. I work in my living room, where it is bright and airy. No TV. No radio or music. No distractions. I screen my phone calls and only answer the ones I know are important. I have injured friends' and family's feelings when they think that just because I am at home, I have time for their whims. I just look at it like it is a job just like any other. If I were in an office somewhere, I would not have time for cooking, cleaning, laundry, TV, etc. and the same applies at home. It is all in how much you want out of this. Working at home is not for everybody, but it works for me. Self-discipline, I guess. Good Luck to you. :^)
So I guess if you are experienced and work for nothing there are job. Sounds bad. nm
:
Guess you don't work for MDI-MD and aren't psychic either....
and yet you still didn't answer the question as to whether you work with MDI-MD.

Guess that answers my pot-stirring question.

Thanks!!!

I guess our clue is supposed to be when we run out of work all the time?
nm
guess again, i'm inhouse and my sup would rather send out work to the agency
yep, to meet the TAT she will send it out, even if it means no work for the real hospital employees.
I guess I don't understand either. As for holidays, I CHOOSE to work them sm

my kids are grown and gone. They like to come for Thanksgiving, but not Christmas.  I have a choice, sit around and pout over it Christmas Day, or work...knowing that what I am doing means another woman who has little ones at home can be with them.  I feel like I am making a difference.

I am working July 4th, always have.  I'll work Labor Day too, no big deal, although it falls on my Monday off and I won't get comp time, however, I am going to treat myself a nice meal out that week so I don't feel put upon.

I feel EXTREMELY lucky to have a full time job with benefits, regardless of working holidays, a part time job where they don't care when or how much I do (though I try for 500 to 750 a day even though their full time is only 800), and I have been offered a PT QA position in addition to these.  I can eat and pay our $4+ a gallon gas.  I can pay my bills and most importantly, I can be saving a huge amount of money in case something changes economically and it will.

Grow up and understand this is part of this industry.  People don't take holidays off from being sick, injured or dying.

Guess our work will eventually go to India now. Going to start looking for another job! (NM)
nm
Maybe they dont answer because there is no work to get.Best way to avoid things I guess.
:
Just dont ever forget the work that goes to India and other countries. I guess they will be doing
weekends etc. I am sure MQ has this all very nicely figured out.
Thank you. I went to Walmart today, and guess what, they had one phone and it didn't work!. Go
NM
I guess this explains part of the reason we keep running out of work. My office lost a lot of huge
accounts in the past year.
Me too. I guess some work is better than no work sometimes.
On the other hand, I'd consider a new opportunity if it presented. Guess I'll just have to keep my eyes open. Glad I'm not alone.
Lucky you.

Not OP,  been here years and leaving shortly.

lucky you
you guys are lucky to be working. i need a job. just relocated to NC.
if you are really lucky you can
:0
I wish I was that lucky!!! I pay $900/mo
x
consider yourself lucky

It's better you find out how horrific the communication is now than waste your time getting hired/quitting your other job, and them jerking you around.

Take it from someone who knows EXACTLY where you are coming from.

Well, you must be lucky...sm
Like the poster below, it took me 6 weeks to get my first check. Two weeks worth of work invoiced on the 1st was not paid until the 27th. That is beyond a long wait for 1 paycheck. Also, while I knew I would not be paid for headers/footers working in Extext, I was quite surprised when I got my check and 30% of the total line count was deducted. Considering the headers/footers only accounted for 5 to 6 lines a report, they were ripping people off big time. What excuse could they have for not sending someone a paycheck?
Lucky you!
I just emailed the payroll person to see about why the check I got was wrong and she says she only issues the check and she can't help me with any issues. I just would love a straight answer from someone and for someone to step up and do what is needed.
Your one of the lucky ones
I am no longer an IC for TTS nor will I ever be again or will i EVER refer anybody to her dungeon. LK has a serious problem with favoratism. If you are one of her goody two shoes that she not only pays on time but gives them all the good work, (cuz yes, she does cherry pick herself and give her favorites the good work so they can make more money) then you don't have any problems. Fortunately but yet unfortunately for me, I was one of those people that she Cherry picked for and when I got paid I got paid well, but I can't live on a not knowing when I was going to get paid. This is not a new problem for TTS. This has been ongoing since February of about 2 or 3 years ago, I can't remember what the year was.

There is no doubt that TTS has GREAT accounts, a GREAT platform, and LK does know how to take care of systematic problems, but she doesn't know how to run a business professionally, unless you are one of her favorites!

How lucky you are?
You must not work for a national!
Lucky?!

Your lucky!  I worked for On-Point MTs and am owed $1400.00 that I will probably never see because the owner stole all the money her MTs earned...

I have a bounced check from one of the payments I recieved and never recieved payment for that or any of the other work I did for her.

Stay away from On-Point now and in the future.  Her name is Bawnie Bartlett and her husband is Aaron Bartlett.

I would say you got very lucky! nm
x
Lucky you
A lot of us did have problems getting paid. There was not always plenty of work either. Sometimes we did run out.
Lucky you....
My emails are never answered. Maybe I should use your name in my subject line in order to get a reply.
Consider yourself lucky
We still have autumn leaves.
LUCKY!
You are so lucky! I have to drive what I can pay for. You are fortunate to have such a generous husband. :)
Lucky you, we are all not so lucky.
nm
Boy you are lucky! (sm)

I can crank out 500 lines an hour but there's no place I've found that allows me to do that.  Sure I can do 1000 lines a day and make $20+ but if I only work 2 hours, 3 max, that's only $60 a day and no where near coming close to making $8000-$9000 a month.

If I could make HALF that a month, I'd shut up and type.  I'd be in heaven and I'd never gripe about my life/job/bills again!

I'm lucky if I make that in 6 months.  You are definitely NOT the norm and I'd hate for people to think that you're making a normal average salary ... the work pool would be saturated and those of us with 16+ years experience and in a normal crappy MT situation would be even worse off.

I hope you count your blessings every day because there are tons of us who wish we were in your shoes!

Lucky?
Gal! Please don't fall for this. Sounds like a bunch of hype to me. Telling you that you are lucky? This is is the jargon of a company who knows it's an employer's market and, believe me, once they get you, they will use you up and discard you without looking back! You will be using your equipment, financial resources, and knowledge to line their pockets. Run the other way.
and you are lucky she does
If she didn't and took all she could, you might be the one who ends up with nothing. Gee, maybe she should go ahead and take it all.
You don't know how lucky you are
Rudeness is their game.
I just got VERY lucky...
I was responding to multiple ads on the job seekers board and MDI happened to have a position listed. I wasn't hired for that one, though. They actually take the time to read your resume in detail and find a perfect fit for you; in my case, the position they offered me wasn't yet advertised. I consider myself very fortunate.

Be patient when you apply. There is a lengthy telephone screening process and once you start, you are limited to 5 reports per day (yes, their QA program is that thorough). I was on a 5 reports/day limit for the first week or so.

The upside to this approach is that you have time to get very comfortable with their formatting and style, and you can use the extra time to load up your Expander so when they cut you loose, you're ready to hit the ground running.

Good luck to you. I honestly cannot say enough positive things about this company.
You are one lucky...
gal (or guy) to have found something so easily and quickly and that sounds just perfect.  I like the 12-hour window.
Consider yourself lucky!
That place is a mess unless you like a company that changes the terms of your contract, schedule, pay, etc. whenever they feel like it and management that can't communicate properly to save their life!
