And I quote....****By not accepting TO WORK for a foreign employer, you shoot youtself INTO YOUR FOOT; because if you don't ACCEPT AS A US MT the work, then they will be forced to offshore

It isn't so much a dialect or accent per se, it's just the odd usage of the language, such as bolded above.

I was under the impression that if ....

you are fired for something that is in the handbook (rule, regulation), and you have been warned accordingly as stated in the handbook, that you could not get unemployment unless employer just did not bother disputing the claim.  My example would be... if the handbook says you cannot be absent more than 3 times in one month and you are absent four, you can be terminated without being eligible for unemployment.  Having worked for Spheris, I know they do send out communication when you miss line count.  All that said,  I would file the claim anyway... ya never know, Spheris may not even dispute it.

An impression
It was an impression on how they conduct interviews.
My first impression is that

they will be cutting MTs who don't meet quality and who send too much to QA.  I hope I'm not one of them.  My second thought is that they may have to cut line rates or lay off MTs.  I also noticed where it sounded like some accounts may be dropped because of expense.  My only comfort in this email is the fact that it went to all employees, not just MTs.

WOW -- this came as a total shock to me.  My lunch is now sitting in my stomach like a pile of dung.  Not a good feeling.

Someone please hurry up and fix this economy!

That's the impression I got as well (nm)

That's the impression I got too. Someone is mocking the co.
If it is for real, someone has extremely poor taste.
I was under the impression that we good
straight type, do VR or both! What is the big issue, if that is the case? If so many of you are unhappy, leave! Maybe, just maybe, they are doing this to weed out all the "bad" MTs, you know, all of you that come on here and complain. Get a different job already, gives the rest of us more!
My impression is that it WAS by them, but they had a backlash
from all the people reading it and stating it was unprofessional to post so much confidental information, so they pulled back and want to say they didn't post. Right. The tone and phrasing of this current post is absolutely consistent with the others. I'm not buying it. But please, Keystrokes, keep posting. With every post, you show so much about your company. :)
I was always under the impression that the MTSO's
about their coworkers at all, or even how many there are, or in what states. I only know one of my coworkers, and it's only because of a chance meeting where we got to talking, and found out we did the same work and worked for the same company. But I think they don't want the MTs to be in contact with each other because then they could start comparing notes, comparing earnings, accounts, productivity expectations, etc. It would probably let a lotta cats out of a lotta bags.
So, you're under the impression
That it does not take a vast amount of time to sift through HUNDREDS of resumes (apparently from MTSOs who have posted here, half of which border on illiterate or nonsensical), try to find perhaps 20 candidates out of hundreds of possibilities, then set up times to call them, etc.?

You must spend a lot of time on the couch channel-surfing, Doing something PRODUCTIVE is always of VALUE.

I'm guessing you're not very happy with your MTSO so you're the one digging deep. In typical hypocritical fashion, I'll bet you collect a check from them every payday though, don't you?

Thought so ;-).

I was under the impression that the transcriptionist, as well
as the MTSO were not held liable, that it was whoever signed the final product (in theory, they proof it before they sign it). It is the physician's dictation, how can the MTSO or MT be held responsible if they transcribe incorrectly dictated test results, physical exam findings or anything else re: the patient?
Okay, well it was my impression that at some point maybe year end they either go on DQS or get

another service because MQ only wants DQS clients and does not want to continue with the others like MTS, etc

I am so sorry you got a bad impression. Sometimes things seem ugly when they are not..
The owner is the sweetest person I have ever worked for. The pay is good. If you want real info on them, please feel free to email me. MaryC_RI285@msn.com
companies who start off with a bad impression

Sometimes we MTs have tunnel vision about a job and will persevere until we get it, thinking we are getting what we want, only to realize that the warning signs were there from the get-go.

If a company is rude to begin with, there is no logic in thinking it is going to get better after you are hired.  I now listen to my gut (a show on Discovery Channel pontificated that we have a *second brain* there, a warning brain) and see with my eyes what is real and what is rose-colored.  Those *funny feelings* about things are there to keep us from making mistakes.  Listen to them.

And I hope you find a soft place to land.

Do you get the impression this person is answering herself in some areas?
I know I do.
I had the same impression. Plus their line rate and incentive sm
plan are really low.  Can't see being able to make decent money there, even if the people are nice.
I'm thinking..unprofessional. First impressions are everything and my impression is....
I wouldn't want to work for someone like that.  There would probably never be any way to ever please her.  I mean how many of us at one point in our careers thought we were doing a great job only to have a supervisor or someone else tell us our work stinks..It's obviously subjective versus objective opinion. I just think her ad had a very unprofessional and rude tone to it and I am guessing that she has been burned or thinks she has.  I just don't think you'd want to portray your attitude upon potential new hires. I will say...the ad did make me laugh, but there is a time and place for jokes and posting as a job ad isn't where you'd want to make people either offended or laugh at you.
Probably no "real" company name. I got the impression she was a private owner her own small bu
and..probably not a company we would have heard of before anyway. I applied so we shall see.
