What other company uses the Escription platform that does not subcontract from Focus? I like that platform, just not working for Focus.

I am using escription platform.
When they installed that, they also installed Shorthand. I never use it, I don't know how to use it. I use my own Instant Text. Anyway, I have been here 1 month and so far so good. I use MS Word and a Stedman's Medical Spellcheck I purchased myself a year ago.

I use that platform for my primary account. I think it's the best VR platform out there.
Anyone having problems with escription platform?
I know this is not just a problem I am having but almost impossible to use, audio coming in jerking along and sometimes not even there- makes the words slowlllllllly appear on screen, really bad. TIA.
Escription is good platform sm
The sound quality is good (on my computer anyway compared to some other platforms I've tried!), the platform is quick between screens, allows you to check past reports and dictator's past reports. I found the later especially helpful when I had challenging dictators saying the same things and could not quite figure it out. When I checked their past reports of the same kind - wallah! -- there it was in print.
Escription can be really good (with good dictators) and a big stinker with poor dictators. I suspect that is the same everywhere. I would jump at the chance to only have about 40% VR.

How are you with the straight jobs versus the speech recognition? Are you doing both? Is Escription much better than Extext? Are you able to double your lines with Escription VR. Thanks for sharing.
I second Escription. It's the easiest platform you'll ever try. There is no VPN to log into, n
extra screens. You just log on the system, hit a button to get your job, type it and hit the upload and it is gone. Nothing else to do. I have used too many systems where you have to log into multiple screens etc.. before you can even get started. To me, Escription is way more productive. You will not have a lot of time wasted. JMO.
Escription is user friendly and 4 cpl is about average for that platform. You could easily do 400
lines an hour. Some people do even 500-600. Good luck with your decision. From what I know, it really is the best VR platform out there and I make more on that than ever could straight typing.
If you have horrible platform, do not get paid for headers, footers, template data, etc.,
even though it might take 3 or 4 minutes or longer to edit that stuff, you are going to take a big pay cut. This program was designed by idiots.
Agreed. Could not make any money there. Platform is horrid. I wouldnt matter if you were paid 18 cpl

Just be aware that not all Escription accounts pay the same. I worked for one company on Escription
struggling to maybe make $50 in 8-10 hours. I didnt know the difference as that was my first job on that platform and I just thought it was not a money maker. Then, I switched companies. I average $20-30 an hour and once I made $50 in an hour. I tried yet another company and I was lucky to make $9 an hour. The bottom line is that not all companies are alike, even though they use the Escription platform. What I have found is that goes according to how they set it up i.e. paying for footers, headers, spaces etc. Just dont be shocked if you dont make what you think you will. The companies know how to set it to where it benefits them and not you. As is the norm, not all companies are created equal out there regardless if they all use the same platform. That is what I am getting out.. Good luck.

Any company that makes you wait to get paid until they get paid by the client
is not a company you want to get involved with. That's part of being an MTSO, figuring out how to cover your payroll while waiting to get paid. I would stay away!

Be glad you get paid tomorrow. We are paid on the 1st and the 15th, so sm
since the 1st is on a weekend, we don't get paid until Monday. It will happen again on the 15th of August …sigh. It is the only thing I do not like about the company, though, so I guess a few weekends of poverty a year is not too much.

MDI-MD platform is fast, not full of problems like Transcend platform or MDI-FL
On Transcend platform you have to click, click, click all day and still get errors, change screens constantly - its a nightmare to work in.
Yes, SPi does use this platform....it's a great platform, but not worth working for SPi. nm

Is it still being paid on time if you are paid on the 1st and 15th.....
and if the 15th falls on a Saturday getting paid on the 17th? My bank is open and posts on Saturday that means I am not being paid on the 15th doesn't? This has happened a lot lately.
At least you get paid, I would rather be paid late than not at all. Just my 2 cents.

I don't understand how Jayne cannot pay us. We have christmas coming up. I bet her family has a fantastic Christmas because she is using OUR money to pay for it. I worked so hard for her and I know the other girls did too. How insulting that she will not return phone calls or emails or PAY us. How does she look at herself in the mirror knowing that the MTs who did all the work FOR her did not get paid. She even sent me an email saying I give you my word HAHAHA her word is nothing, obviously. Well, I will call the attorney for the THIRD time and see what is going on.
To the poster, at least you got paid even if it was late. I sincerely hope you get your last check.
Bad Platform. I personally know of 3 MTs who left because of the platform.
If you are like me, the bottom line is wages and what I get in my check. I have never worked for Amphion, but I personally know of 3 MTs who worked part-time at Amphion before quitting their other service to see what Amphion had to offer before it was too late. All 3 quit Amphion and stayed with their other service because of the Amphion platform. Too hard to make any decent lines.

I just started with a company and when I asked specifically if I would be paid for spaces, they said yes. When I started using their program I noticed that the line count for each job did not include spaces. I checked it with more than one program. I called them and they said there was a glitch in the program that would be fixed. It has been almost two months now and that glitch is still not fixed. My checks do not include spaces either. No one at the company knows what is up. I can't believe I am the only one at this company who has deduced that they are not paying for spaces. So, do you check your line counts to see if spaces are included? You might be in for a surprise. Man, I am tired of being burned when I am a reliable and honest IC. Maybe time to do something else. EditScript is Word based. It's very easy to learn. Works with Word AutoCorrect to save your shortchuts, etc. Very reliable from a technical point of view. Our facility just went live about 98 days ago, all 22 MTs are loving it. Most have already increased their productivity from our old ChartScript days. Does a really good job with speech recognition even with some horrible dictators - consistency among the MTs is key to that success.
