I get no benefits where I work and I do 1500-1700 rad reports a pay period. sm

This is the norm, not the exception. If a rad Transcriptionist cannot do 20-25 reports an hour, they need to look at a different field.

Lines are easy to get at TT and I get more than that if I am more focused with no distractions. 1500 to 1700 with interruptions etc.
Not by the line but 1400-1500 radiology reports. 2-1/2 years. nm
nm
10,0001 lines per pay period for FT with benefits. nm

How hard is it to get to the 900 dollars a pay period on Beyondtxt VR to keep the benefits?
Thank You!
I love my job but I think I lost my insurance benefits. Has anyone else not met the pay period quota
one time and had their insurance taken away? I think it happened to me. I fell short this payperiod on my time ($90) as I was ill for a couple of days and had no PTO time to use. Now, my insurance premiums were not taken out so I am afraid they canceled my insurance, which was the largest reason I have stayed. I needed the good insurance etc..not to mention that I just like working there and my supervisors. I did make more than enough for them to have taken out the premiums so I feel like this was just an excuse to cancel it. Now, if I have to wait another 120 days to qualify again, I will have to end up quitting and that is not a great feeling, but I know I can get a job somewhere else and not have to wait so long to have insurance again. I'm just sickened. I can't believe they would do this in one pay period. I work 7 days a week usually, all hours of the day and night and I just can't grasp they would do this. I have worked there over 2 years. So, do they really do this, for anyone who has had this happen before. Maybe, they are just suspending the insurance this pay period but I don't see how they can stop it one pay period and start it back in 2 weeks on the next pay period. Anyway, stressed out!!!
I work that, had TONS all day long, never ran low got to 1500 lines WITHIN my shift too. nm
nm
Level 3 MTs at my old co. used to have to do 1700 (sm)
But that was only the level 3/CMT equivalent employees. Level 2's had to do 1400 and level 1's 1200. Pay scale was per level, so if you were paid more you had to produce more.

I wasn't crazy about it.
I usually do between 1700-1900 in an 8 hour day without killing myself.
The lines are fairly easy to get at TT.
I would not work for them period. nm
nm
No, only that work varies over the pay period sm
I see my primary account in week 1 of the 2 weeks. By Tuesday of week 2 of 2 weeks, I see my secondary and my primary and as the week wears on I have less and less of my primary and more of my other 3 accounts. I guess I know that some people are making up their lines, but that is now how I work.
As a whole.. nice people to work for, decent benefits but the get off/on the system, work/no work,
is maddening. I couldnt pay my bills or even work the schedule I was assigned. They would ask us not to work until work built up in the evenings and I specifically wanted to work days as I have kids etc. It just didnt work out for me but to each his own. It just seems there has to be a better balance in this business that what is happening.
Actually there was a slow period, but LOTS of work now - nm

They don't send work to anyone. Period. You can take that to the bank.

The work flow is pretty good. It gets low around the end of the pay period. sm
I work on the DSG-2 side and the sound is pretty good.  Rumor has it we will be getting a new account soon but I don't know that for sure.
After about a 2-day period of more work, back to running out constantly.
Maybe they should streamline, get rid of some dead weight, but mostly they should STOP OVERHIRING as they have constantly done in the years I have been there.

This is NOT a seasonal slowdown. They treat us like mushrooms, if you know what I mean.
Do you mean the reports come up with OR or all work or what. Need to know what you mean.
:
It's how many reports you sent to QA for each acct. you work on. NM
NM
part-time IC is 5000/pay period and full time IC is 10,000 per pay period. Need to talk with
recruiter about cpl, I'm sure it varies with experience.
where they 35 comparable reports - or 35 short and 35 long reports? nm
x
That is the $1500 one. sm
I am talking about the Holiday bonus they are advertising on the Careers page.
Avg around $1500/mo.

Prior complaints of low work loads and only short reports, so struggle to get lines. How about
s
1500 lines a day!!!!

I do respect your opinion, but my opinion, as well as many others who worked for Spheris is, getting 1500 lines in an 8 hour day was impossible.  You see, we weren't given nice pie accounts, where you could build templates and consistently use them.  We were given the crap accounts, poor dictators, the good accounts go to India.  I am sorry but 1500 lines in 8 hours was not possible for the majority of us.  If it were possible, I can guarantee you it would have been done.  Obviously we all want to make a decent living.  I do agree that we have a larger problem on a larger scale, and yes shopping where they make things in China, etc., is being a culprit.  I can say that people who have lost their jobs to China, or anywhere else in the world, need to step up to the plate as well.  I as an MT can only try to protect my profession and everyone else needs to do their part.  Afterall, everyone is forced to use the healthcare provided to them in their area even though they outsource, just as I am forced to shop at a store that outsources labor, for lack of a better resource to shop at.  But if everyone would do their part in each if their fields, maybe things would be better.    As far as paying editors and not being able to afford to pay better wages, I think that companies should pay a lower wage until one gets off editing.  Once they get off editing, they should be paid more.  If someone never gets off editing, that is another situation that needs to be addressed.  I understand that a company cannot pay two people to do ones work and afford to pay a higher wage.  But these companies such as Spheris that hire everyone at a low wage and then pay others the same that come in that are on editing and are not meeting production, this is what is not fair.  It is not right to keep all employees at the same pay.  Maybe MT -A has been their for 5 years, she/he is good, has a 99-100% accuracy rate consistently, then there is MT-B who has been there for 2 years, 97-98% accuracy somewhat consistent, needs editing more often, but she gets paid the same as MT-A because they both happen to clinic notes.  How is that right???   This is what goes on in these national companies.  Each employee should be assessed on their individual performance.  But this is not how it is done.   That is not right and is degrading to the MTs who do very well..These are the problems.  Companies like Spheris get away with this!!  All they care about is cheap labor!! When an MT gets to be better, they let them quit without a fight as they would never pay the higher wage they are worth and never will.  This is a confirmed fact!!

$1500 week. nm

1500 no problem
Well now! That is a whole new bunch of apples. Is it the work, the platform, or the dictators? Their recruiter said it would not be hard to get 1500. These days with the way companies use less than good platforms and the strange way they count lines, it is rare to see 1500 easily. Long ago, I could boast over 2000 easily. The last few years since the India factor, services are just tightening up. Wow would it be a relief for me to enjoy my job again. Yes I am waiting for my ID too. Well, I am going to take a crack at it, may as well overlap the jobs and see how it goes. Can't hurt the old pocketbook. Thanks for your optimistic post. If all goes well I will be working with you soon.
$165 or 1500 lines
nm
you have to have work to pay for the benefits
I started with them and had NO work for an entire week. I gave up and quit and then they didn't pay the training bonus pay and I had to go to the attorney general!
No benefits and lately no work...NM
NM
Typing ER reports and radiologogy reports
are completely different with regards to pay. For typing regular reports, that is a very fine line rate. For typing radiology reports, it would be horrid.
What are they asking for, 1500/1800 lines a day, or more? nm
s
some companies require 1500 lpd -
x
Do you think that 1500 to 2000 a week is possible?
This is a serious question, because I have been there a while and still not up to that. Maybe 1450 but not the big numbers. Wondering if it takes a while or if it is the platform.
Does MDI-Fl have steady work? Are there benefits
nm
Great benefits don't help if the work isn't there.
It's been a while and maybe they've gotten better. The recruiter at the time was less than above-board with me. Try to find current employees to talk to.
Sounds like you want to work PT, but get the benefits of FT!

There are minimum requirements so that the employee must work in order to get health insurance, PTO, etc.  Why on earth would an employer offer someone a FT employee status, but then not put any kind of line requirement on them?  That's just absurd.

As a manager of a transcription department at a hospital that pays their MTs hourly plus incentive, if I didn't have minimum production standards in place, I'd have a bunch of hourly employees taking a million breaks and surfing the internet all shift long!  And still walking out with a nice paycheck and benefits to boot!  And my minutes would be through the roof with doctors screaming at me every minute of every day!

I feel sorry for the company that gives you a job.  You're looking to get off easy!

No, that's not true. They work with you. Yes, you have to be FT to get benefits. sm
but that is anywhere. They define FT by 12000 lines per period. They average it out. They take into consideration accounts, volume, slow periods, etc. If you are working FT and not getting the lines you need, they work with you to get there.

Someone is just trying to stir things up here, and I am not sure why, but it is very disheartening to see half-truths and lies about so many companies. I love working for Keystrokes. I average 2500-2700 lines per day but I have been doing this a long time and use my Expander for everything. I have an account that is considered a nightmare to some people, but I think that they come into it with a bad attitude. IMO, any account can be great once you get used to it, with Keystrokes or with any company, as long as the line count is accurate.
May I ask where you who get a decent cpl and benefits work?nm
nm
He/she gets 1500 lines a day, in spite of posting
Uh, yep.
On the new plan, if I type at 1500 lines a day at
nm
if you type 1500 lines plus per shift
with what seems to be the most popular company to work for.  I'm job looking. I do believe I may have to apply!  What's the difference between Meditech magic and Meditech XL?
I did not achieve it within a week but they worked with me and I am at 1500 or more now. sm
I think that statement is to enforce that they expect full-time volume.
For IC work? 8 cpl is OK if you are an employee and getting benefits, but for an IC it's awful!
s
I work for them...benefits this year suck
God help us if we get sick. They deductible is sky high and no meds coverage. I can't believe they boinked us that way. I'm checking into other companies.
I work part-time for them, so I cannot help you regarding benefits. sm

The pay scale seems a bit on the low side (I started at 0.0825), but you are an employee, so they take out taxes and such, which is a plus for me, and you can raise your rate of pay according to how many lines per hour you type.  I do not have the tier right in front of me, but it is something like 150-170, add .015 per line; 171-215, .035; 216-230, .05; and so on.   I type 300 LPH on my full-time job but cannot seem to average more than 250 at Webmedx, so not sure if it is the way they count lines, or maybe I am just not used to my account yet.  The sound quality on some of the hospitals on my account is absolutely AWFUL, and no one seems to be addressing that, so that is a down side.

They have their own platform and supply the computers.  Someone said you have the option of using your own computer, but when I asked, they said I had to use theirs, so I don't really know.  I would much prefer mine, but I did get a switch so I only have to use one monitor, keyboard, and mouse.

They charge a $125 deposit for the computer, taken out in installments of $25 per pay period, refundable when you quit and return the computer.

The pay is direct deposit and always on time.

I know they have benefits such as medical, dental, and vision, and a 401k, but I do not know the details.

Hope this helps.

Good luck!

It is IC work, no benefits, make your own schedule. sm

The pay is a bit on the low side for IC work, but the work is easy, the people are great, and the pay is always on time, once a week, direct deposit.  Hope this helps.

It's IC work-- no benefits, although they do pay self-employment tax portion.
Technically, we're hired as SE status (statutory employee status), which means that MDI pays our self-employment taxes to keep us from getting that double tax whammy.
Anyone work for Axolotl? Curious as to cpl & benefits
I've been an MT for 15 years with local clinics & am looking nationally now.  Any info would be great....cpl range, insurance costs, PTO, etc.  Thanks!
They had great benefits and little work. I lasted three
nm
Great benefits, plenty of work, pay on time
Depending on experience, slightly above-average pay. I used to be with a company where I would have given my right arm for those few simple things. As for the posts below regarding line count, IF this (or any other concern) was affecting my work, there's a new invention called a telephone that comes in handy when wanting to address concerns (and their phone number is on their website).
Agree. Had to leave. Loved it there but no work and no benefits.
nm
According to Allstate, they have a new account and have over 1500 jobs in backlog, is this not true?
What's the real scoop?
