I, for one, am glad those emails stopped:-)

They were constantly interrupting my work and really made no difference to me. I work my shift and I can tell by the times of the jobs if we're on schedule or not. Of course, I'm radiology and for some reason I was also getting acute care updates, so double whammy.

Maybe you did not do enough that they would know that you stopped OR maybe they were glad to see you
and you saved them the time of terminating you. HA!
Why can't they be stopped from doing this? It's been

I believe they have stopped hiring PT, only FT

I stopped speaking out because SM
in the past, they had cheerleaders who came to this board who would attack people who gave true information regarding the company. It may look like the archives have little information and the reason they do is because a lot of the posts about DR have been deleted because the threads degenerated into name-calling.
The same people who attacked still work for the company (management), so I wouldn't bet that things have changed there.
Me too. I have stopped even considering anywhere else. I am here until retirement.
And that is such a stress-free thing, never to have to retrain for a new company again!
So what stopped you from speaking SM
to your supervisor before? Are you saying that you've been sitting there feeling bad about your financial situation all this time and just today decided to call and DO something about it?
I think maybe the Grinchy bully (and I am not serious when I say that, I feel he/she was truly helping you) motivated you to take some action.
I stopped about a year ago and
Don't miss it one bit and making more money - including benefits, PAID vacation, no work on weekends and holidays, etc. I'm 52 years old and couldn't be happier with deciding to get out. I still visit this board and the same things are being said about this profession that was said 10+ years ago. This field will NEVER change.....so I did.
I had the same problem with them. I stopped working for them as well. They
kept forgetting to pay me for spaces. At first, I was told that they did not pay for spaces, but I had an email stating that she did pay for spaces; so, I copied the email to them and got a check for the difference. Each paycheck was incorrect and I kept having to call them to get them to correct it. Seach the archives. I am not the only one this happened to. After I stopped working for them, It took them 6 months to send me my last paycheck.
I can see your point but I stopped beig a
A company I worked for once sent out an email from the OWNER asking all of us loyal to her (cough, spew) would keep a list of screen names of people with bad attitudes so they would be sure to not hire them or to fire them if they were already working for that company. I turned notice that day and went to a professional MTSO.
They must have stopped doing so. I worked there as an IC for a while in the past.

Why has Amphion overtime been stopped?
I was thinking of applying with them mainly because of that. Like the person asked below has the overtime policy changed or are they just caught up?
they stopped due to the banking crisis
oct/nov
I worked for a company that stopped DD as JLG did. They
went belly up a short time later. The company was local to JLG. I didn't buy the bank instability crap that was being posted about JLG. I personally don't know any details, but having been through a similar situation I would be VERY concerned.
I agree 100%, I stopped coming to this
board for a long time because of it and I hesitate to ask a question or make a comment because you never know who will blast you, so
Thank You!!
I stopped thinking of this as a profession
and now think of it as a job. Fortunately, in the days of when MTs were of value and were paid accordingly, I paid off my house and don't have that hanging over my head. If I had not, being single, I would not be able to pay my house payment today. No pay raise for so many years I can't remember and now seeing post after post about 7 cents per 65 character line and people taking these jobs, it will be more like community service.
I am making sure I put some money away each payday because when that day comes, I'm going to apply at Target or the local Goodwill. I really do mean that. I have worked for 26 years now doing this. I have a dozen years left to work before I can retire.
We were not overpaid when we were making money. We were paid accordingly.
As far as recommending this line of work to someone, that is something I never would do.

Thought so, I stopped testing! sm
I never finished all the testing and thought it was ridiculous! I felt exactly like you are feeling.
I am so glad, so very glad that finally I have reached
the age that if we are low on work, I just take off. No problem at all and love the extra day or so off. I now have worked since the 70s and finally made to retirement age, get SS plus other retirement money coming in and thank the good Lord do not have to worry about if there is work or not. BTW, when I worked inhouse never ran out of work ever, only when transferring out to company do they run out of work. If I had to raise a family now I would most certainly cross train on other accts at my place but only have 1 that I work on, by choice.
I have been there 5 years. What changed? They stopped catering to sm
employees who walked all over them and started recognizing those of us that do a good job. They took away ICs and made people accountable for their commitments. They added benefits, added direct deposit, got a bigger office, added more staff in the office, and continued to grow.
I honestly believe that it was a very few people who were saying the negative comments but they were loud and had time on their hands.
They then moved to another company and decided to bash them, then another company and bash them, and so on. There are some people that never are happy and those that are let go tend to be the nasty ones on the boards.
The only problem I ever had was one check 4 years ago but direct deposit solved all that.
I think the owner let go a little where needed and stopped taking it all so personally. She is a tough one now but still nice, if that makes sense, just doesn't take cr*p from everyone.
I am on there too. I stopped posting much anymore because the bashers. sm
We were accused by nasty posters that we air dirty laundry on here. Other times, we are too cheerful. Other times, we must be management. Because of that, I tend not to post. Should we ask them to get a yahoo board or something? How about the intranet? Does that have a board?
I hope your friend has stopped working for her.
I just stopped reading it. I scan and read what is useful to me. (nm)

Transcription Matchmaker stopped working w/ Cbay
Heard same feedback from other MTs.
I use to work there, question for you, have they stopped the incessant micromanaging
and sending you so many instant messages it is impossible to do your work? I know loads that used to work there, all gone, horrible experiences. What a nightmare!
MDI-FL. thinking of applying. Is medical insurance still high? That is what has stopped me before
I cant remember what the cost was but it seemed to be be high for single and family coverage. Anyone know?
Ditto. I stopped even reading the company board recently
I could not even get through the conversations to the real information on companies. I come here to be informed and to be supportive, but it has gotten tiring going through the constant redundant arguing. I almost gave coming here but it is part of my day. I just come here less now.
Thanks! I'm glad to hear that, I didn't think anyone used it anymore! I'm glad to hear so
I'll definitely check them out!
Yes, I have 2 emails you can use
to contact Keystrokes directly. They are BKeystrokes@aol.com and LKeystrokes@aol.com
Good luck to you. We can use another good MT! :)
I got 2 emails from them, both for different
positions. I never heard of them much less applied. I deleted the emails.
Well, when you get emails from the
and other gramatical errors, makes you wonder!!!!
Got those emails and also got
She said that I was not working and that I had better get on the system and work! Yuk! That stuff is hard to tolerate on your day off. I have worked my schedule and certainly had my lines in for the pay period and still get this type of uncalled for email!
LOL would you like to see my emails?

too many emails??!!
i get an average of 3 a day.
Same here. Way too many emails. nm

Emails
I don't have a problem with it. I don't care about talking with anyone else anyway. Had enough of that working in the hospital atmosphere. All it amounts to is a bunch of criticism and gossip. I love this. I work well independently and could care less about talking to anyone. It's like a breath of fresh air to me. Anything I need to say or get an answer for is and can be handled by emailing back and forth and so far it's worked fine with no problems whatsoever. There are always message boards you can talk to others on.
Not only did I get emails, but... sm
About4 weeks after I had left and already started with my new company, I got yet another email, but this one asked why I had not done my required lines for that pay period!! I answered that one, telling them that I had already left MQ and I doubt I would ever reach their required lines. Needless to say, that was the end of the emails :)
no emails
I think they must be glad I'm gone. LOL Haven't heard a word from them except a letter telling me someone will call me for an exit interview/survey.
TT emails
No problems overall for me. I was told to be sure to communicate with them always through TT official email because they don't read personal emails--they just delete them. Before I knew that, I had once emailed my supervisor about a family emergency via my personal email b/c I was out of town and didn't have access to my work PC. I didn't get in trouble b/c they are very understanding about family medical crises and always email back with wishes for speedy recovery for employee or sick family member.
Same Emails.
I know EXACTLY the company you are working for, based on the greeting on the email. I am feeling pressure as well, and its getting to me. You're not alone. I already work 7 days a week, so don't know how much more I can help, if ya know what I mean.
emails
I've gotten the emails on the weekends I have off sometimes that ask for everyone to come help, but if it's my scheduled day off and I have things going on I don't and no one has ever confronted me about it or asked me to explain myself. They just send out an email the next day that says thanks to everyone who pitched in yesterday. But you're right - keep the clients happy or the company may lose the account. That's true of all companies.
emails
I know what she was talking about with the emails saying to stretch and reminding people we have to make time sacrifices to keep the clients happy and keep our jobs. It just depends on what account you are on. Some accounts are low and there is no need to email the team and twist their arm a bit to work extra, but other accounts get backlogged, especially starting Friday afternoon and into the weekend, and those teams get the emails. It's not a matter of acute versus clinic, it's just which accounts get busy and backlogged.
Please add me to your list of emails!
I have not typed out my email address due to my email making it obvious of who I am to my current employer but would really appreciate it if you could click on my email link and send some information to me also!
Thank you for your help and your willingness to share information!
I beg to differ about the emails sm
Not sure what you mean by "since certain people are gone now," but those goofy, slightly threatening emails have started up again. How many so far today, 5 perhaps? They have been toned down on the nastiness somewhat, but they look like they were written by an ESL: poor grammar, not spellchecked, improper use of the apostrophe - and this from an alleged long-time MT/QA (or at least that is my understanding)!
And, no, these goofy emails don't have a direct effect on my work, but I just find them annoying, heavy-handed, and unprofessional.
And speaking of ESL, I think you forgot to mention the extremely high volume of ESL involved in working at SS.
I'm seeing emails asking MTs to work OT.
Work is definitely available on quite a few accounts.
I have an applicant who has sent me I do not know how many emails
and inside the email has not put a resume, just a blurb about themself (which is impressive), no phone number, and when I try to reply, the email bounces back saying that it is not a valid email. It matches the name of the applicant, but IF you are a job applicant who has not received a response to your email, please be sure you are including the correct information. I can tell you that the email carrier is sbgclobal.net
I will not name any names or initials, but if you have applied at any companies and received no response, this could be the reason why.
Thanks.
I have gotten some emails from the posts below
from some very professional MTs telling me they were embarrassed regarding some of the responses from their fellow MTs. Thank you. I wanted to let you know that it is appreciated.
On another note, the recruiter calling herself Hiring Manager is not me and I want to let you know that some of what she says may be true regarding resumes, etc. as we all get those, BUT I do not agree with the way she presented herself. I also do not agree with the fact that she is addressing the readers as honey. That to me is rather condescending and I do not treat any of the people who apply with me in a condescending tone. I have written them to request additional information because the newer MTs are learning. None of us in this MT world, recruiters included are not perfect. The whole entire field on a day-to-day basis is a learning experience.
The other recruiter says she only works 8:30 to 4:30 M-F. Well, good for her, but I wonder if she is on the west coast. That might work if she is a west coast recruiter, but east coast recruiters have to expand our day to accommodate those on the west coast. I know my days go late for those who work outside their homes and live on the west coast. They have to come home, have dinner and then they have time to do a phone interview.
The other recruiter said some true things, but I do believe she presented them as a gripe...and I guess we as recruiters have those days, but it should have been presented as a pointer if they wanted to help someone.
I personally have devised a way to do a resume that works if anyone needs any tips. Most of you who have done this long enough know.
For the woman who has no resume, that is a requirement. Through the years I ran into one lady without a resume and she never could seem to put one together and she was a qualified applicant, but that is something we need. If you only had a few jobs, you would not have had to put together much. When you apply for a job, expect to get a resume. If you have been fortunate to have jobs come to you, that is good. I have had that happen too so I do know the reasons why a resume would not be needed, but be prepared in case it is because it can cost you a job if you don't have one.
About the cutesy email addresses, I am with the other recruiter on that one. It totally can take away from a good resume. It will not keep you from being hired, but sometimes I felt kind of silling addressing someone's email address that was one of those cutesy ones. We have the tools in place to have email addresses, utilize them. We do not care if you are a scout leader, mother of 4 lovely children, etc. We care that you are an MT or QA and are a pro. Know when to use that cutesy email address.
OK. I did not mean to put the other recruiter down. I can imagine that she had a trying day yesterday receiving all of which all us recruiters receive. It's a multiple choice out there as far as jobs and I think we all receive the same resumes.
I just wanted to thank those who were thoughtful enough to let me know privately that they did not condone some of the unprofessional remarks made by the MTs. The same goes for recruiters. I do not like to see an MT put down with a name like honey. That bothered me and I noticed in more than one post by the recruiter. It seemed sarcastic, which was entirely unnecessary even if someone had been sarcastic to her.
Me too. They sent me 3 emails that they want to talk to me..but..sm
I emailed them back 3 times and have not heard from them.
They ignore both IM AND emails sm
Emails are usually ignored. As for IM, usually ignored also except for 1 person, who is good at answering but she's lower down the pole and isn't the contact person for some of the stuff. She's the only good one there.
