I filled out the paperwork and late the same day they called

to setup an interview the next day and I was immediately offered a position.   They have a large account coming on-line very soon and are trying to train several people too, so there may be a backlog.  I was hired 2 weeks ago and start training later this week.

Just filled out my new hire paperwork today-sm
I'm glad to hear encouraging things. I'm really excited! I'm just P/T so all the OT stuff and what not does not apply to me anyway.
I was hired, called by Becky, sent the paperwork, sent it in sm
and waited two weeks for an ID. I have been working for three weeks now and it is great. Obviously, your situation was unique as I came to KS on the recommendation of two of my ex-co-workers and they had no problems either, both with KS for a few years. Get over it. If you want to work for them, call and talk to them. If you don't, move on. Why are you rehashing the same thing over and over. What do you want the outcome to be?
They called me late last night (sm)
I don't work late at night. I checked my schedule of when they are allowed to call just to be sure I hadn't made a mistake. I am going to e-mail my PS today as well again with my schedule to forward to them. My husband feels like we are being stalked!
Too little, too late? It is never too late. I am one person, true, but together

Let me tell what this ONE person achieved on her own and then you can imagine what many of us can do if we stand together.

Two years ago, I was working as an MT for a local hospital.  One day, we were told that our overflow was going to be outsourced to one of the nationals, just the discharge summaries and not even all of those.  Two months after they told us that lie, they called is in one by one and fired us because they were outsourcing the entire dept because it was cost effective.  The service they were using was a very large national who I happened to know had a reputation of offshoring.  And I just knew because our little hospital had easy as pie dictators with maybe 4 out of a staff of 200 that were ESL, our work would most definitely be one of the accounts offshored.

I was angry!  Oh, they offered us jobs at the service and told us we would definitely be working on our hospital, but I'm no fool and I knew it would be a matter of time before we were forced to take secondary accounts which would eventually become our primary accounts and our little hospital would just disappear from our queues.

I refused the job with the service on moral grounds.  I refused to work for a company that offshored.  And then I decided to channel my anger and outrage into something proactive.  I wrote letters to every newspaper in my area.  Every small farming community newspaper this hospital served, and the big city newspaper in the big city close by.  I never dreamed that anyone would pay attention at one woman's rantings.  But a funny thing happened.  My letter was printed in more than one of the papers I sent it to, and reporter from one of the larger newspapers called me and asked if I would do an interview.  I said absolutely.

Long story short, they did the interview and then interviewed the administrator of the hospital.  They put him in the hot seat and asked him about offshoring health information to India.  He had no definitive answers to give except that he would have to look at the contract and make sure that it was stipulated that his hospital's work was not sent over seas.

It was a small triumph, but I took some satisfaction in it.  Two weeks after that and just when I thought all the hoopla had died on my little letter, another letter appeared in the newspaper -- from an HIM director at another local hospital who said as a result of reading my letter and interview, that she had received a number of calls from concerned people asking if their medical information was being sent and transcribed overseas.  She wanted to write the letter just to set the record straight that her hospital employed their own MTs and did not outsource to a service nor did they offshore any of their work to third-world countries.

And I'm still not done.  Still a few weeks later another letter in the big city paper was printed from another HIM director assuring the community that her hospital employed its own American MTs and did not outsource or offshore.

Now, everything has quieted down since then, but I managed to ruffle some feathers and make a point, and if I (one person, one middle-aged work-at-home mother of two) can cause that much ruckus -- think what a whole bunch of us can do.

I think we, as a group, need to take control of our industry and our career destiny and do something.  Maybe march on Washington DC protesting the offshoring of American jobs -- not just ours, but ALL American jobs that are being offshored.  There are more Americans out of work and losing work to third-world countries and corporate greed than just MTs!  Our government needs to hear our voices!  We need to MAKE ourselves be heard!

Instead of sitting back and pasting little smiley faces in our posts and saying good luck with that we need to come together.  There is no room for MTs willing to accept lower wages, no room for MTs whose hearts bleed for our third-world counterparts, and no room for MTs who want to sit back and do nothing, but reap the benefits when the strong win the battle.  We've reached a critical turning point and it's time to take up the cause and change the future.

Filled out ...
online app on Monday; got an email that afternoon inviting to test. Tested next day (Tue). Phone call from recruiter on Thursday and she emailed data sheet that day and had contracts/paperwork FedEx'd that day. Rec'd FedEx on Friday (yesterday). Returned it Sat (today - 7/16). Waiting for equipm/training next week!!
That job has already been filled
They post jobs like that because they feel it is the PC thing to do but 9 times out of 10 they already have someone in place. That's the way OSi does business unfortunately. If they have it in for you, you will most assuredly not be promoted by them. They promote from within meaning people they don't have it in for.
already filled in with me too
the data is already filled in for the company that I work for also.  I don't work for Allegiant, but do use EMDAT.  I'm paid for two lines before I type one character.
Yes, had a contract and filled out sm
a 1099. Received checks without taxes deducted. All of a sudden deducted taxes, and told me I was staying employee like it or lump it. From what I read on these boards, this company is always low-balling someone.
Maybe the M-F positions are filled? Don't know

As I was out to get my prescriptions filled

Diskriter called.  I sent them my resume Sunday.  The thing is, I work for a hospital that is going to VR and templates.  They are cutting back on MTs.  They are leaving the CMTs, higher producers and the ones with the most experience to do the leftover MT work.   They offered me a position in medical records.  I will be doing the corrections, scanning charts and other clerical things as well, which would be fine, but they are going to give me a flat hourly rate at $11/hour.  I made more on production.  I will be driving 40 miles in-house.  I drive a gas guzzling Chevy Suburban.  Plus, I will be getting up early early, having to get dressed, get the kids dressed and out the door so I can be there by 7:30.  If I am late they will write me up.  I forget how many write-ups I can get before they give me to boot.  I know for a fact that they are not as flexible with their hourly employees as they are with their production employees.  It makes me nervous.  On the other hand, I will be using different skills other than MT.  I won't be making much profit though.

I filled out an application
I filled out the application and sent in my resume. I was called for an interview and then asked to test, and I had the 2nd interview today and was hired. I am so excited!
Jobs filled up
These days with all the people applying for jobs in this field, it is not surprising they filled up the position in a few days. There are many more MTs than positions at good companies (note I said good companies). If it were me, I'd send an e mail or call asking that they keep my resume. You never know when they will need someone because of becoming exceptionally busy with snowbirds in Florida (they have accounts there). My 2c.
Demographics already filled
Allegiant is a wonderful company to work for.  she ALWAYS pays on time with direct deposit.  All of her accounts are in the database and there are no patient lists used whatsoever.  I have used Emdat for 6 years and I am very happy with the amount of money I make.
I filled in for a short time . . sm
I worked for them about 3 years ago. They have a WP platform I believe. I thought it was a little fiddly, but not bad. Lots of OPs, big hospitals. They didn't bug me, just let me work. It's easy to make the lines if you're experienced. They really know what they are doing. If I needed the work, I would go back to them without hesitation.
She posted that all the spots were filled now, anyway. nm
s
That's exactly it - the shifts everyone wants (day shift, MF) are filled but the others sm
are open. Should we just not fill them because YOU don't have enough to do? My STM sent out info regarding what shifts were open and asked if anyone was interested in taking on that account. Obviously not enough people were interested, meaning they have to hire to fill those weekend and night shifts.
She has posted that the spots are filled
xx
I just had 2 meds filled and never paid a dime.

Do you give it back with the blanks filled in?
I send things to QA and never hear back until I prod and prod.  This is a waste of my time as well only to hear from QA don't know, we sent through with the blank.  If you are filling in the blanks, then you should be giving it back to the MT with the mistakes filled in and also a way for the MT to relisten.   JMO.  Is this MT doing the same doc or is she being thrown new ones to learn each day?  As far as the timeframe for when will she learn, there are a lot of variables to that question in my opinion.  Sorry to sound sort of like huh?, but you seem like you are sort of complaining about the job you chose.  If you do not like QA, why not try going back to being an MT.  JMO.  Good luck with the MT though..
Why positions cannot be filled. Not due to lack of workers,
Is it because Microsoft cannot meet employment demands based on available US similarly trained workers without paying US expected pay.  I am sure if Microsoft was offering a decent wage those positions could be filled.  But they will not be filled with US employees if Microsoft is only willing to pay offshore pay rates.
I was told the oncology positions were filled already. nm

and was emailed immediately that the position had been filled, ad is now gone..hmm (nm)

paperwork
Hi, Not with this company, but if they are overwhelemed it will take time -- also, Fed Ex and UPS are recovering from the holidays and may have subsitutes on the routes -- ie -- I live in rural FL and my roommate FREAKED today because she thought someone was in the mailbox -- sub carrier -- they a lot of times are NOT familiar with the route and the BEST thing that I can suggest to ANYONE is to call the company and get the tracking # -- I did it and most are very accommodating and that way you can see if it is in transit -- if it says delivered and a time and its not under a doormat, in the yard, in a mailbox, etc THEN worry
paperwork
Did you get yours via email? How long did it take to receive it? I was half expecting to get it today because everything else went to quickly.........
Paperwork
Yes, I got an e-mail with attachments to print out all the paperwork required. Then, I filled it all out and faxed it back.
I have already gotten a call from their IS to check my computer system, which they did, and now just waiting for the ID #'s from hosp and then IS will call me back to load software into my comp. Heard from them today, said I should be good to go by end of this week.
Paperwork
My God....that was pretty quick...wished I owned my on computer....would apply....
Paperwork?
When did you receive that paperwork?  I've received nothing in the mail at all from Transcend.  From the communications I've gotten, it's just going to transfer over, which I would hope means all of our information as well.  I know they are supposed to be sending us the policy and procedures manual.  Is that what you are talking about?
So all three you just filled in the blanks and didn't need special equipment?
The MT I work with and I might test with them this week.
Think they posted that all spots were filled 2 days after posting
s
Yikes..5 cpl and they filled the positions..pathetic..okay all you out there that stooped so low to
accept that rate, please raise your hand LOL.. That is SHOCKING..who could live on 5 cpl. I think I'd be insulted and humilated and DESPERATE to accept that rate.  I'm pretty sure they are getting more than 5 cpl from their clients. You can bet they are making more than enough by having the slaves work for free practically.
How many have filled applications out with what you make and test and never hear
anything back.  I wonder if you make a decent 10 cpl or something that is the end of hearing back from them thinking you want that much or more when you fill out the application.
I have tons of experience and I sent a resume to them and I filled out the application, took the
test, did fine, got a huge questionnaire to fill out that took about 1/2 hour or more then got a call and they wanted me to take an oral test and do another editing test.  I thought what is this.  This all took hours of my time.  I do think you have to clock in and out like at MQ and I am not interested in the least in doing that again.  Been there and done that.
Can you check you paperwork again
it was Sten-Tel in MA. To my knowledge, they email all paperwork as attachments. That is how I received mine. Most companies don't go through the expense of mailing this. They refer you to their website if you are just inquiring. If you have been hired, they email the info to you.

What you have said does not sound like Sten-Tel in Springfield, MA - AT ALL.
In all the paperwork they sent you there is probably a schedule (sm)
showing payperiods for the year. Welcome aboard.
New hire paperwork
Did you mail or fax back all the new hire paperwork? I had to pay Kinko's $1.50 per page to fax back 15 pages as I don't have a fax machine and don't know anyone who does. It would be nice if they would mail the paperwork and allow MTs to mail it back as opposed to them emailing it and placing the responsibility on the MT to print out several pages and then find a way to fax it all in....expensive if you don't have a fax machine.
In all paperwork sent before hire, probably are

The current paperwork
they gave me mentions that very thing and how if the doctor changes Dear Dr X to Dear Bob, if it is not changed MTs don't get paid. This must be a big issue with the docs so they are sticklers on this I guess. So I guess I have no excuse and should not have that problem.
may depend on account; mine needed demos filled in.
nm
Sorry, meant 'your paperwork'

that does sound like a lot of paperwork...just curious though
I applied for the orthopedic position and was sent an email with 4 pages to download. After reading the info, my computer met only 1 requirement. Did your computer meet all the requirements needed to work for them? CONGRATS!
Ditto here just sent back all my new paperwork!
Good riddance to OSi.
You get paid for the shuffling paperwork.
Maybe it makes up for the motormouths who dictated a full page in 1 minute. Actually if you are a fast (and accurate) Transcriptionist you can probably make $25 to $30 an hour.
I don't remember filling out all that paperwork.

I remember how peeved everyone was about having to do it and I think it was resolved without the background checks, etc. I could be wrong, 'cause that was about 2 years ago and my memory fails me after 1-1/2 days. LOL

I surely would like some truth for a change and not inuendos or plain old hate towards the company from posters. They never really answer the questions posted on where they get their facts, so I question if their posts are truthful or if they just want to cause trouble, or rile everyone up like they have been doing.

How long does it usually take to get started once you fill out paperwork for MDI-FL? sm.
I filled out my paperwork about a week ago and have not heard from anyone.  Does anyone know how long it usually takes to start with MDI-FL?  Or has anyone had any problems hearing back from there once they said You are hired?
Ugly! Don't know about Rad, but a bud of mine was overwhelmed with paperwork, pay was low, and it
s
I think the new hires really need to read thier paperwork. They get a ton of it.
sdf
Didn't you get paperwork, offer letter, etc? sm
If they offered you a position and are already so far as setting you up with your account I would have thought you would have already filled out the required paperwork and sent in copies of your Social Security card, etc. (so you would know which company hired you).  That said, there is only one Keystrokes of which I am aware.  I would call them.
You'll get employment paperwork via email. sm
The HR person is out emergently today and yesterday, so there may be a delay. Storm on its way to Illinois today too!
read again; not only does the paperwork say Hard Wire ....
