I envy you. 5 years ago at my company I would have said the same thing

Now they are using such unfriendly software, can't fix any of the problems, it seems, and I'm seriously thinking of moving on. The owner hires her friends, and I really don't think anyone is qualified. JMO, of course.

MDI is a terrific place to work. They have their priories right and are honest. Unfortunately, they are not accepting applications right now from what I was told by one of my colleagues, but, of course, that could change. Don't give up!
I envy you soooooooo much - good luck!

Dont' let the envy rear its ugly head of yours.
Aha !! Retired and painting gourds as a hobby? Envy you. nm

I went through the same thing with over 25 years ..
experience. What was explained to me by a few companies that posted on this site and I applied to, is that they were inundated with resumes and the application process was actually a lot more difficult for the company than expected. Two companies actually told me that within just a matter of hours of posting they had received over 300 resumes.
My point is, I do not imagine that it has anything at all to do with you or your abilities. I believe that there are so many experienced MTs (as well as newbies) in the market today looking for jobs, whether a primary or a secondary, that it is bogging down the more reputable companies.
Hang in there and I really wish you and anyone else looking the best of luck!!
You mean, he's still at this type of thing? About 5 years ago....
I had to go to the Labor Board in my state to get my money from him. He always has more excuses than anyone I've ever known, and he's slippery about communication, too. If this is a new problem, you'd best get on it. Hopefully he'll pay up, but I wouldn't give him ANY more chances!
Same thing happened to me, but it's been years.nm

I have been an IC for 15 years, and I have never heard such a thing.
How would the IRS know what my schedule is or was. I just submit 1099's with income, take my write-off's, and pay my self employment tax. No where do I submit my scheduled hours or am I asked when filing my return.
Same thing happened to me about 3-4 years ago
Company ended up filing bankruptcy so no one got paid
I did the same thing 3 years ago!!! They are AWFUL!
I worked for them for only a couple of weeks and ended up quitting because it was so bad. Everyone you will deal with, except for the recruiters, are in India and it's awful! My trainer even got mad at me because I couldn't understand a word he was saying while he was training me! I quit right away! I would totally avoid them at all costs!
okay it's a computer thing - "one to three years"

I've been posting the same thing for a couple of years. I don't understand
why people feel like their company has to provide insurance and they may take a job they hate just for insurance. Getting your own policy is almost always cheaper and then you aren't tied to a job/company you hate.
If you have pre-existing conditions situation may be different.
I have 19 years experience and was told the same thing. I think their test is incorrect.

The same thing happened to me 2 years ago. That Indian creep gets people to work
for him. He gives this scale of how you are supposed to be paid, but it NEVER, EVER is the high range that you KNOW you are owed and deserve. So, then your production and earning come up and they are WAY off base. On top of that, he either pays you late or not at all. This is fair warning...DO NOT WORK FOR CALLSTREET!
I've been with the company almost 10 years. I know the truth. Hawaii was a company-paid vacation.

The thing about this company (sm)
is that they keep their accounts fully staffed. It is not unusual to be transcribing reports that are an hour or two old. Unlike the company where I was before, they were a day or 2 behind - always - yes, there was plenty of work, but customers were not happy. They lost mucho accounts for that very reason. When the work is so caught up as it is at TT most of the time, a slow patch is much more noticeable more quickly. As far as the LV acct goes, maybe another person whose acct is slow because of weather is typing that as a backup. Most people don't just sit around and wait for work without asking for another account, unless they can afford to. They are keeping their clients satisfied, which is what they are in business for. This will not last.
One thing I can say, the company I
work for has excellent communication. E-mails are answered 99% of the time within 30 minutes, and if marked priority within 5 minutes.
I worked for this company. The one thing they do have
Maybe you should ask for backup accounts, more than 1. They never run out of work, at least they didn't when I worked there 6 months ago. On the other hand, they have been hiring a lot lately. Can't hurt to ask for a backup.
Same thing happened to me. Distrustful Company

Going through the same thing. Wondered if you are working for the same company..
Can you give us a clue who you are talking about. I think it is who I also work for if their name just has initials. If it is, then I will tell you what a big part is...they are overhiring for the wrong accounts and acting desperate on other accounts. Ridiculous. Someone does not know how to organize the work flow.
Don't be too skeptical..same thing happens at my company. I think as it nears the end of the pay
period people panic if they are not where they want to be at so it seems like everyone jumps online to get in a much work as they can and it ends up being slim pickens. So, honestly, I don't think the other poster is making excuses. It does happen.
not from Seascript but get that same type of thing from another company. Then
they called me twice asking me to send in paperwork which I couldn't send because their e-mail kept rejecting it. Glad I moved on.
Can you give me a hint as to which company? The same thing happens to me too and I am an IC. nm

I agree with one thing you say. With almost any company right now, unless you marry the job and
work 24/7 and jump through hoops, dont expect to get the best or be treated the best. They are always looking for the new to use and abuse and thus the circle keeps going. We all burn out being used and abused and they know that so they keep adding new MTs to use and abuse. That is a fact in MT today. I dont specifically know anything about these 2 companies but it is the same at the 2 places I currently work PT. Exact same situation. I have stopped jumping and I dont plan to do that anymore because in many cases, you still go down with the ship when they get an urge to overhire in these larger companies. They dont sit there and pick and choose. You just go down with the rest. Small companies may fiddle more with that but not the larger ones.
I was thinking the same thing. I'd definitely pass on this company. nm
Every week a different company has bad posts. The funny thing is that sm
it just goes round and round. How about doing something about it rather than arguing back and forth. I think we all can agree that there are good companies and bad companies but that for the most part they are all pretty similar. Slipping through the cracks? It happens. Be the squeaky wheel and call the company. Obviously they need people if they hire. Perhaps your resume was stuck to another or your message not written down correctly. Perhaps you misunderstood something and need to clarify it. Perhaps they misunderstood something and need to clarify it. If you have chosen to work for a company and did your research, then you have to decide after a month or so if it is the right company for you or not. Transcription is a very small world and these service owners talk amongst themselves. They work on making transcription better not how to burn and tick off the next applicant.
Be realistic. These companies all have good and bad points. The really bad ones are obvious with the paychecks that do not arrive for months and those that continuously bounce checks and those that rip off their employees with fraudulent line counts. But the ones that are constantly attacked on here are the ones that have been around for awhile and will continue with or without you. MQ, Spheris, MDI, Transcend, Transolutions, Keystrokes, Heartland, TransHealth, OSI, Precyse and Cymed are going to continue to hire and fire and have happy MTs and MTs that do not like working for them. The truly bad ones like XXXX and SS, to name a few, the ones that only have horrible posts are the ones that will fade away.
I heard it was to be bought by some company out of the Phillipnes or some such thing.
:)
About 6 years ago this company did the same SM
stuff with the pay (and for a period of time didn't pay anyone) and MM from the paid site had to intervene.
Me too. About 25 years ago the company I
worked for (not MT) went to ADP. The process is probably different now, but I had to fill out paperwork to submit every week that they then entered. My paperwork always balanced, their paperwork never balanced - well it did one time and they sent me a know saying that my information didn't balance. I had to go through all the paperwork again every week, where again it all balanced, and then I had to make sure the checks were right every week. Took me twice as long to do payroll by using ADP as it did doing it all by hand.
25+ years and this is the best company ever!!!
Highly recommend applying!!
There is so much wrong with that company that 100 years
wouldn't fix it.
The company I work for NEVER gives PTO, even after 5 years. I would be willing sm
to wait a year to get it. Right now, I hate taking a day off at all because I am paycheck to paycheck and need to work to make money. If I had PTO, I would not feel guilty taking a day off here and there or even a short vacation.
A few years ago my secondary went to another company and (sm)
evidently some of the office people as well, they in turn gave the new company the names and phone numbers of us who had worked the account and the new company actually called many of us to solicit us as employees. I felt it would have been okay for me to switch, since I had had no control over the account coming or going, but I didn't feel it was right for some of the higher ups to be involved in soliciting us for the new company. If anyone was in the wrong, they were. They shouldn't have shared records and personnel information like that from one company to the other IMO.
Good company for me for last 2 years.
Lots of work. Good pay rate. Management/team leads are accessible. Good feedback. Get paid on time.
Have worked with his company for many years (sm)
The owner is a gem and a very caring person. Pay is always on time, 15th and 30th.
I have worked for the company seven years now
and love the job! The owner works directly with you until you are on your own typing the work, and you have communication with all transcriptionists whenever you need help with something. I never have to wonder if I will get paid, as the check is always sitting in my mailbox within three days after the pay date. There are only a handful of people that work for this company, so it is one of those dream jobs that you never want to let go of after you have it! I have read all of the negative posts regarding this position, and the people who wrote the comments obviously do not know what they are talking about, yet they still seem to feel free in sharing their negative views. What's up with that? It makes me very angry to see that this company is continuously being bashed each time the help-wanted ad is posted, but I guess that type of thing is to be expected from those that know they are not qualified to do the job. Some people are obviously quick to jump on the bandwagon when it comes to bad-mouthing companies after they have tested poorly or are told the work has been given to someone else. If you are qualified for the job, it is one of the best ones out there, so use your own judgement when it comes to applying for work. Otherwise, you might just miss out on one of those dream jobs!
TransTech is the best company I have ever worked for. I have been here two years
and can't say enough good about them. I know that they are owned by some former L&H people. They are adding new accounts like crazy and are always hiring.
I've been there for 3 years - yes, good company
xx
Worked for them a few years ago. Not a bad company. You could do worse. -nm

Established company, started six years ago. They have
not grown at all through acquisition but rather just plain old fashsioned good business.
I have worked for this company for years without problems!!
For those of you that are looking for a good company to work for, this is it. I have not had any problems with Transnet or ExText. For the account I am working on, there are very few ESL dictators and lines are very easy to come by. Regarding Word 2000 or 2002, that is the requirement of the clinic that River City is working on, NOT the requirement of River City. So it would be the clinic you are referring to when you are saying archaic and out of date with their technology. River City has no control over what type of software the clinic uses but only requires that the transcriptionists use what the clinic uses. I would rather work for a company that is good and stable where I can really feel like I am part of a team rather than just some gal out that chalking up lines on some unknown dictation system. Yes, the pay is a little less than the nationals but most dictators on the account I am on use quite a few normals and lines are quick. I would recommend this company over and over to someone that just loves what they do.
I just left a company after 10 years, making only

I have used it for the past 2 years through another company and love it!! nm

I've been there a few years. I think it's a good company.
Although I feel that ALL MT pay is far too low, Acusis pays better than most. Several accounts are teaching hospitals, some regular hospitals, and some clinics. Most of the time they have plenty of work, except right after the Holidays.
I find the management to be VERY nice to work with - a welcome change from my old situation, which was horrible. Excellent techs, too. The SoftScript platform they use works well. Sound quality is good. If you email a supervisor or other person there, I've found they respond in a timely manner.
The pay varies based on the account; more for harder ones, less for easy ones. They ask for feedback from MTs, and are appreciative to get it.
Anyway, judging by what I read on this board about other companies, I think one reason you don't hear much about Acusis is that most people that work for them are happy with them.
You can do a good job and despise the company. I was at MQ for 10 years.
I eventually deservedly despised them, but I did a great job. Otherwise, I would have heard about it. I'm at the Web now, and I agree with those that say they are getting to be just like MQ before MQ imploded and was sold. I don't despise Webmedx, but I don't love them, either. I don't think you can completely trust any of the nationals.
Why not call them and ask? I've been with them for 2 years and love it. Best company
I have ever worked for. There is always plenty of work, pay is decent and on time, and best of all I am treated well. They offer all kinds of bonuses, continuing education pay, vacation pay, reasonable insurance through Aetna, life insurance. Am I getting rich off this? No. Am I paid reasonably well? Yes. Would I recommend Transtech? Absolutely!
Great company... no complaints.. three years and counting....
I just love it. If anyone has any questions, please e-mail me. This is a great place, and as I said many times before - I found a home.
Kelly is a temporary service company that's been around for years. sm
You may not be old enough to remember Kelly girls. They used to be strictly secretarial, but do all branches of temporary work and job placement now. It may be a temp or temp-to-hire position through them, or then I could be totally wrong.
