Whether you are an IC or an employee, you still pay taxes so I never understand when people bring up this tax issue. The only difference is as an IC you have to pay the additional SS, which I believe means an extra 6%. The benefits of IC (if you actually are an IC) are the independence it involves. Furthermore, your figures are if you are doing only 150 lines an hour. If the person were averaging 300 lines per hour they would be making twice that. For an IC paid by the hour it obviously depends on how much you produce.
