I used to work for TT, and yes, they are wonderful people -- very caring and supportive -- but in order to get my lines in, I had to be VERY flexible, working on my days off, during times I wasn't scheduled, etc., and it gets old pretty quickly.  I personally didn't care for the e-mails calling me sweetie or telling me you rock, but that's just me.  I just want to be paid well and have plentiful work.  I do not know if they just overhire or what happens, but I finally left because I couldn't stand the feast or famine work flow there.

platform sucks and I'm not the only one saying it.  I am looking for another position.  The company itself is well aware that there are issues with the platform, as proof of all the e-mails stating the fact. 


There are lots of crappy platforms out there, some worse than others.  If you haven't worked on one of the better ones you don't know how bad Enterprise is.

Is this still the case? These posts are mostly from 2005 and 2006, so they are really old. Are the flexible with scheduling? Do they pay on time and treat their MTs well? I just want to know before I even think about applying! Thanks!

Venting- how can you make money or get line counts when all the work is given to someone else!
Nothing seems fair anymore.  Does anyone else ever have this happen?
I have. The company I work for now posts when
they have openings, but I was hired before they started posting.  I'm going on 6 years now with this company.   I have also received 2 other offers from smaller companies that don't post.

-- that ought to be illegal -- as long as you are working, ie, training, you should be paid!
in case you were not aware, some people will not work for a company who
outsources overseas. precyse does this quite heavily.

even though this board has 'flip-flopped' and now agrees with this practice, it is still driving our rates way down and has damaged our trust.

I have done two reports on individuals working with homeland security just this past week...hmmm, I wonder if they realize how vulnerable they would be having their 'vital information' shipped overseas for ANYONE to see. bet if they have a choice, their work is done here, and WHY WOULD THAT BE? Why would these people be more important than we are?

misleading because the fit was not good for them. 


If you have been on these boards a while, you would know that she always posts her name.  I emailed her today to tell her what was happening on here, and the response I got back was she does not even look on here as it is too upsetting and has promised herself not to come and look.  She has too much else to do with her time and defending herself and her company is always misinterpreted.  She basically told me I should spend more time working or with my family than spending time on this soap opera.

It is better to not care and let people form their own opinions.  Everyone takes the postings with a grain of salt anyway.  I think it is sad that she has to be so tough-skinned.
Decent company, good people, pay on time, work low sometimes. nm

I'm not trashing anyone - just
speaking the truth and warning any MTs out there in the Iowa area. By the way, kiss my grits, she just got done rebuilding her deck (3rd time in 4 years) bigger every year to house her swimming pool and jacuzzi. This wasn't an inheritence. She charges the client quadruple what she pays the MTs - the rest she rebuilds her home, etc. I'm recently separated and NOT a newbie. I took this position because of the potential to make $18.00/hr. That's what was advertised.
Girls have been with her for 5+ years and are not making close to that. Many don't care because their husbands bring in the money. That's not my case.
As far as the poster who said Greed is good. That sounds exactly what she would say. What a BIOTCH a big fat BIOTCH at that. Bye ya'll

You need to stop the trashing if you don't know.

I know for a fact that SS now pays for spaces. 


I have worked there for over 1-1/2 years and the most a paycheck has ever been late was by 2 days, which is 7 days after pay period ends.  I know other nationals that ALWAYS pay 7-10 days after pay period ends.


The "nasty" emails you refer to make me wonder if you are one of those people who cry at work.  The emails are aimed people not working their schedule.  If that doesn't pertain to you then you ignore the emails. 


I didn't see any posts about VR --

I just perused over the page and I recall the day that thread was posted, as I was concerned about that email, too, but nothing in that thread stated that MDI was going to VR or in the email, unless I missed something.


Did your account go to VR and how were you notified?  I'd definitely like to know ahead of time what's going on.  I worked for MQ for too long with my head in the sand, don't let me sink now!

The negative posts didn't scare me...
None of them compare to what I've gone through with other companies.  The good far outweighs the bad.

There were people who ignored all the posts

about how horrendous Heartland was and several have posted in the last month or so how sorry they are that they didn't listen, that everything said was true.


Heartland offshores big time on top of all the other stuff and I don't think there is any hope of an improvement.


QT Medical (qtmedical.com) is hiring, good wage, nice people, no offshoring, lots of work, direct deposit, QA manager really nice, not too many bad ESL.  They provide foot pedal/software, can work in Word or WP5.1 your choice usually although I think some accounts are just Word, nice gift at Christmas and MT week, they leave you alone as long as you do what you are supposed to, no nasty e-mails, no IM, I think they only have IC positions so no benefits.  You can apply on-line or call Kelli.  No special platform,  a few pages of do's and don'ts but not bad and you'll quickly learn them, daily feedback, only need to enter patient's name, the rest of the demographics automatically entered.  Not sure what the current cpl is, but they pay on gross line. 


 


 


I have seen some other posts on these people--sm
in the archives. some were not good, stating they were not getting paid and the company would no longer communicate with them, etc. I never had that problem, but you just never know. As an IC, in my opinion, it would be easier for a company to not pay you and get away with it. I have seen that problem happen alot on this board. I guess they feel that once they stop communicating with you, there is little you can do to get your money. You can, but it takes alot of effort on your part. There are good company's and bad company's. I have experienced both. You just have to be objective, keep your intuition tuned, and take a chance sometimes. If your gut tells you not to, listen, because it is generally right. I work for a small MTSO out of California and we discussed all these issues of concern before I even started working for them. If they are a legitimate company, they should have no objections to answering your questions or belaying your fears. They are just as cautious as you are, because they don't want to get a bad employee either. These are just some helpful hints, I hope. It is never easy to know who to trust. good luck to you.

I am going to give up these boards because they are so depressing.  This business is in the toilet for sure and I know why everyone is flipping out but I just need to get away from it all.

All that is left are the newbies who don't know any better. They meekly wonder why they don't have any work to do but don't have enough experience to work for a real company so they twiddle their thumbs while their work is sent overseas. Nobody in their right mind would be happy there unless they have trampled on people on the way to the top.

The people who are posting most negative posts
have not worked at Focus in a long time. I work there now and think they are great. I have had no problems. Pay is always on time, nobody bothers me, and I always have plenty of work....only work on 1 account.
I was also trying to research Softscript. A lot of the posts were old or not from people who had
worked there recently.   I guess it just depends on your situation.  I have zero experience and have to start somewhere.  That is what drove my decision to accept a positon with Softscipt.  Maybe I am making a huge mistake or maybe it will work out.  I don't know.  Either way I will deal with it.  I often wonder if feedback on companies is motivated by a desire to be helpful or simply a desire to blame.  Call me naive.......Good luck.
I wish people read these posts correctly.
I am amazed that people here do not read the postings correctly and assume and go on and on about something that was not said in the first place. NEVER was the person posting about her father dying told to suck it up, NEVER. Arent we all transcriptionists and we have to listen and transcribe correctly what is heard? I am totally amazed myself that this just went on and on and it was NEVER said to the person whose father died.
I don't understand why people make posts
telling people to stop whining. Isn't that the whole purpose? We work remotely and as a result we need this catalyst to communicate with one and other. If you don't like people venting then YOU should stay off!!

we all know as with everything, time and circumstances change. sorry to hear your outcomes. i too hope TT will hold up to its end of the bargain as they have something great going on now and we need companies like this.

This is like beating a way dead horse at this point. So many just can't follow the subject of posts. The poster you are responding to is stating the fact that this is JUST LIKE the fiasco that used to go on here regularly with Keystrokes, with management and owners freaking out at any perceived criticism and posting over and over and over defending the company, calling the MTs liars, fakes, whatever. Yes, it is exactly the same, and it shines a very negative light on the company name, worse than the original posting. It is very yucky to see companies posting on here. It does tend to validate the MTs who have complaints. Its just plain old weird.
I thought there were posts a few months ago saying they laid off 50-some people. nm

You make 40-50K a year? You obviously work for someone 0ther than MQ.
It is more venting than anything probably.
I went through all the channels when I had issues, all the way to the top, and despite promises to fix things they weren't.  There were positivies, they just didn't outweigh the negatives.

Sheesh! This is a MT board where you can vent about MT things like not having enough work. She may be looking for work. It may be she just hasn't had success.
Venting
I know the feeling. The company I work for now is very overstaffed, now no work for tomorrow. I came from an hourly salary to working by line cause my hospital outsourced. I have also taken 5 typing test from another company plus a written test and I still have not heard back one way or the other. It would be nice just to let a person know one way or another if they passed or failed. I am so tired of taking tests. I have been doing this for 30 years. I am seriously thinking about going to school for Medical Billing, but that will probably dry up too.

The Americans in some form or fashion have done ourselves in trading with other companies and now what does America go and do, but Outsource just about everything. I feel now we have tightened the noose too much. It is just horrible everywhere. I currently work two jobs and these two jobs are drying up too. I am getting physically and emotionally tired.
Who said people who work for KS aren't happy for people who work for (sm)
other companies?  I'm happy for people who are happy with their jobs, no matter what company they work for.

The OP was talking about in actual medical reports, not on these posts - or at least that is the way I took it.

I too am concerned about the way medical reports are looking and being put on charts. It is ridiculous and dangerous!!!

you to come nosing in with your helpless and rude comments.  I wasn't complaining.  I know my superiors are very busy and I just thought maybe a current Medware MT could help me out while I wait for a response.  Instead, you have made it a big huge long drawn out one-sided conversation from my simple questions.  Guess we all know that must mean you are a very boring person with nothing better to do with your life.  You don't know the circumstances of my hire.  I was offered a job and turned it down.  A few months later I returned and they got me set up right away and neglected to send me all the new hire information.  Not that it was any of your business anyway.....

There was a MT that was venting in regards to Transend on their private board sm
(it is automatically set up so if you enter you know who is posting . . name displayed)and the other employees and management was nasty as h++ so believe me I wouldn't post any thing on the private board negative. I have already resigned. I have a week left.
VENTING - Focus Hocus Pocus
 FYI to anybody who might consider working for Focus.   My brief stint with them was absolutely horrible.  What a waste of my time! They are just ridiculous to expect an MT to sit and "keep checking every 3-4 hours" for work....Hello!   There is plenty of work out there, but they are so backward in their process of distributing it that later on they are looking for people to jump in for extra time...to help them get out of the hole they dug for themselves while they were not paying attention to the work waiting to get transcribed!   Just total dumb-bells!!!!

As a whole.. nice people to work for, decent benefits but the get off/on the system, work/no work,
is maddening. I couldnt pay my bills or even work the schedule I was assigned. They would ask us not to work until work built up in the evenings and I specifically wanted to work days as I have kids etc. It just didnt work out for me but to each his own. It just seems there has to be a better balance in this business that what is happening.
