I concur
I still am employed with them but am not happy right now. I do not like the pay scale and think it is unfair. Communication is horrible. They only answer when they need YOU. If you need something from them it is almost impossible to do it.
I concur!
From the supervisor to the owner. No communication. They have pacifiers for any and all problems you should have, whether it be with the supervisor or a co-worker. They say they will take care of it, but never do. They have taken away just about every incentive they offered back when I started and every year, the insurance premiums are higher. I would never go back to work for them. I know a few MTs who are still there and will call me or email me inquiring about another job.
When unsure.... sm
Whenever I test and am not sure about something like that I put a few asterisks at the end of the report and write a note explaining what I have done and the rationale. That way at least they know, if it's not the way they want it, that I gave it thought and did not just blatantly make a mistake. It always seems to work because I get positive responses back, that they appreciated my pointing this out to them -- never penalized for this.
Unsure this is about VTS or not..
Maybe someone else will speak up. I just wasn't aware of any companies starting witha a V until I saw these posts. http://forum.mtstars.com/company/v/1/76323.html
And I concur!!
You are correct. I will concur with
ex-recruiter. Many times the recruiter does not know because they are not told--in essence, they are told something that is not the way it is. There was only one situation that I recall where I learned what I had been told was a big fat lie. I no longer recruit for them. I won't do that knowingly. If all recruiters had these ethics, it might be better, but if the recruiter does not know, he/she can't give you the goods on what really is.
I concur. I think they are working on a new one, though (NM)

Nothing snitty or helium-ish, just saying that's what I do and unsure why others don't do it
that way. I mean, you DO see the words on your screen. So why look at them again? If I were typing from copy, I could see where you would have to proof. But when they are rolling off your fingertips as you are typing, why not proof then? Added my stats to show it can be done.
I have been contacted by a trainer in the US already. Still unsure about this.
They said they would overnight the pedal. Still unsure if I should change jobs. Yikes! If anybody could suggest a safer bet that would be appreciated too. Thanks for your feedback!
Hey Matt: I completely concur.
so don't try and tell me I was the only one.
Unsure, need reality check
I don't know how I feel, I guess numb. So, looking for feedback on how this job is going for me. In the biz a long time:
1. Got cleared from training quickly. 2. Immediately got all the most difficult jobs, did not complain. 3. Decided to stick it out day after day. Though never ran out of work. No feedback. No nothing. Figured no news is good news. 4. Still got the worst work. Noticed reports out of order during early shift. Obvious cherry picking going on by other team-members. 5. Decided I must be wrong, my bad... later in day came on early, got good reports, did a few. 6. Came back for shift was actually flagged to type all the worst dictators, as they are marked with red that they were assigned. Started to get a bit paranoid. 7. Came on today cherry picker gone, all bad work out of TAT, this MT the only one on, typed many reports. Lots without dr. giving demos, etc. Did the best I could. Flagged for QA the ones without demos (although taking a chance as a newbie, because QA blanks are counted against our progress). Decided to still hang in there. Finally got feedback after several weeks from big boss stating this goes to the whole team: bad demos, bad quality, etc. We need to do better (written in stronger words).
Have strong feeling I want to quit after this bad e mail, and after all the bad reports and cherry picking going on. Still have other job. Stomach is in a knot. Is all this worth it? Feedback happily appreciated.
I concur, don't even waste your time
I was there for about six months and it was one of the worst experiences I've had yet. My biggest gripe was running out of work all the time. I very seldom made more than 500 lines on any given day. When I complained to my prod. supervisor she was helpful and added on another account but it was more of the same. I wound up with three accounts with no work in any of them.
On top of that you get the usual mess of working with each client's profile preferences (which is no big deal cuz that's standard) but one hospital was a doozy. Pretty much everything you've ever learned about medical transcription, just throw it out the window because there were four pages of do/don'ts, and Always Always do this except for. Everything almost completely opposite of how we all learned. And that was just one account.
Why a company would allow any hospital to dictate such terms is beyond me. Then to make matters worse their QA was terrible. Literally I would get different rules for each QA. I could always tell who was on depending on how they checked my work. The pay was actually decent and they were generous with allowing me to have a flexible schedule. I never had any real problems with any staff although I wish I could find their recruiter and ring her lil neck.
Never again. Never.
If you're looking for part-time work to fill your time this might be the right place for you. If you're working to pay the bills, just don't even waste your time.
Medware or MDI-FI. Considering applying. Unsure of best choice.
Can anyone give me insight about these companies.. pay, benefits, accounts etc..
Hands-On Transcription does the same thing but unsure if they are good or bad...sounds bad though
I was inquring about a job with Hands-On Transcription company. They did not have any website or physical address. They had just posted on here. I had emailed the lady several times. She told me I could purchase a C-phone from her for 399.00, which I do not have any familiarity with a C-phone (never had to use them in my career as of yet). Plus before she sent me the paperwork she wanted my name, phone, address, and SS#..I sent that, out of hesitation, and she has never sent paperwork back. Though she did email me about something else. I am scared now that maybe I should not have given her the information since I could not find anything on the company. So, please be careful. I should have went with my gut instincts....
I completely concur. Find a good one, or move on, quickly. No loyalty involved. The don't sm
have any to the MTS. NONE of them.
God has always provided for me
and my family, that is where my trust likes, not in myself, that is for sure.
No PC is provided. You must have your own. nm

You can make it up provided there is enough
work for all the others who need to make up too. They hired MTs to do a Friday-Monday shift so there was rarely excess work on the weekends to be able to make up a shortage. Some shifts have more work available than others during the week so may be easier to make it up then.
Equipment provided
Looking to change companies. I am currently using a company computer and don't want to have to buy a new one for work. Can anyone tell me which companies provide the necessary computer equipment?
P.S. ShortCuts is provided at no cost ...sm
to Transcend employees and is provided prior to their account moving over to editing.
Actually, I don't know if it comes with the Ex-Text but it is provided by the company

They used to start off at very low pay and provided the puter. Don't

I provided several months for a company
as they appeared legit - offered me position and then never contacted me again. Will never do again. With today's identify theft being #1 crime in the nation - way too risky. I was told it was needed as they were going to do background. I should have done more background on them!!
No equipment provided. This was for an IC position. NM

Provided you are performing the line
count they are performing. Have to make sure it is 65 characters, but with or without spaces. It is amazing how many people work for an MTSO and don't know how the line count is counted. Also, different programs count different ways.
P.S....or if facility is closing and provided that
Which they almost certainly would in most cases. This law has NOT proven to provide the protection for laid off workers that you seem to imagine.
When I worked there last year they provided me
a C-phone.
provided link for info....
just to explain where VBC originated and how we are once again being sold out by AHDI.
MT has gone from being considered a secure job that provided a comfortable (sm)
middle-class living, to what it is now - sweatshop labor -with near 3rd-world conditions when it comes to how little it pays, loss of benefites, and how much one must work in order to earn half of what they made 15 years ago. Why am I still in it? Because I made the mistake of putting all my eggs in the MT basket years ago, when I was still young enough to change careers. But back then I didn't need or want to change careers. Now I'm too old to go back to school long enough to learn anything I could do that would pay decently (who wants a 70-year-old newbie at ANYthing?), and yet still a good 15 years away from retirement. So, although I keep looking around for something else, there is very little I could do at home on my own computer. I'm so burnt-out on offices & management that I doubt I could ever go back to an office ever again. The thought turns my stomach. I'm just hoping that I'll have enough in Soc. Security benefits when I'm finally eligible that I'll be able to get by on that AND a full-time (i.e., 60+ hours a week!) MT job.
Company-provided computer does not have printer with it.
Help out with this situation? Company's software is not compatible with Vista (my personal computer) yet, so I have no access to printer in order to print IM, if that is possible. Further help?
My court report provided the key to her software and
yes, you are IC and basically work for the court reporter. You work when they need you, sometimes weekends when they have rush jobs..without notice because they are not always notified by the attorneys until the last minute and you do HAVE to meet the deadline. Unless you are working for a trial court reporter, you are mainly working depositions. GOOD TO KNOW ABOUT THE ADVERTISEMENT. I think someone with transcribing skills can get into this very easily without that expense. By contacting court reporting companies, you can get the info on the court reporters looking for scopists.
And I sleep well at night, knowing I have provided

The answers provided are based on my personal experience only
need any information you can give me on Medware. What they pay, (depends on your experience) platform (Merit), training (frustrating, on par with many companies in like field), do you pay deposit for computer (you supply your own), what they are like to work for (depends on who your Team Lead is), work (feast or famine), offshore (Yes), etc. I need it quick and any help would be much appreciated. Thanks
Yes I send the feedback back to the MT with the website provided..
that way they can see how easy it was for them to do the research and they can fill in the blank themselves, rather than being lazy and having me do it for them...:)
our hospital provided the outsource service samples of ESL's dictation so that the
reports wouldn't keep coming back with missing dictation and blanks and horrendous attempts at guessing. I would also keep asking your company over and over and over again to please provide you with a sample, if not from the hospital, then maybe from one of their transcriptionists on the same account.
You can post a resume unlike the one you provided your current employer and give yourself
a name like Provided Upon Contact. Set up a hotmail or yahoo email and go that route. When services contact you (and they will if you have what they're looking for) and it's not the service you work for presently, then you can respond to them.
Good Luck.
The Warminster office is now part of the NE Region. Unsure if Warminster will be
staying open. All the accounts have been switched to Amherst, NY. Hard to know who to deal with since the office manager has not been replaced so not the best.
