Hey Matt: I completely concur.
so don't try and tell me I was the only one.
Move on quickly...
There are other great companies out there. This really touched me, you sound like a single mom who is trying to just make the best for her kids. I feel for you! I, too, am trying to raise two kids, but work for a great national even though there has been a lot said of that, but they have been good to me. Don't feel like where you are at is the only option. There are many other places out there, just start looking and working at home really isn't so bad! Good luck to you!
I find the lines don't accumulate as quickly, but the atmosphere is GREAT. nm
Jay Vance is involved, so it must be good.

Is there a good site to get DQS questions answered quickly? nm

Loyalty has nothing to do with it until you find the company for you. Be loyal to THAT company.
:p
Good move
Moving to Transtech would be a very good move!
Good move
I have been there for just over 2 months and love it. They are the best company I have ever worked for in my 6 years in this field. I'm sure you'll love it.
Good points, I agree completely.
/
I made that move and it was good for me.
And because I was extremely fortunate, I was able to walk away from MQ with no other job at all. I had the entire summer of 2006 to myself with no job demands, and I needed it! After a little re-charging time, I went into TT with both feet, and I love it. There is none of the nonsense that drove me away from MQ after 1/1/06.
sure does not sound like a good move if you are not getting sm
the work types you like and are good at. Sorry to hear you are not happy.
Thinking of going with Keystrokes but need to know if this is a good move
Can anyone tell me anything about Keystrokes? Good to work for, personal, friendly, organized, plenty of work, etc. I really do not want to jump into another bad situation after just getting out of one for the last 8 years. Any info is greatly appreciated.
GOOD MOVE!!! You'll love it!!
Keep in touch when you get on board!!
:) tf
As your accounts move to India, they move you to another account. NM

I concur
I still am employed with them but am not happy right now. I do not like the pay scale and think it is unfair. Communication is horrible. They only answer when they need YOU. If you need something from them it is almost impossible to do it.
I concur!
From the supervisor to the owner. No communication. They have pacifiers for any and all problems you should have, whether it be with the supervisor or a co-worker. They say they will take care of it, but never do. They have taken away just about every incentive they offered back when I started and every year, the insurance premiums are higher. I would never go back to work for them. I know a few MTs who are still there and will call me or email me inquiring about another job.
And I concur!!
You are correct. I will concur with
ex-recruiter. Many times the recruiter does not know because they are not told--in essence, they are told something that is not the way it is. There was only one situation that I recall where I learned what I had been told was a big fat lie. I no longer recruit for them. I won't do that knowingly. If all recruiters had these ethics, it might be better, but if the recruiter does not know, he/she can't give you the goods on what really is.
I concur. I think they are working on a new one, though (NM)

I concur. If the MR is not provided, and you are unsure you are
transcribing on the correct patient because patient's name/and or DOB were not given or prounced as you have searched, just bypass it.
I concur, don't even waste your time
I was there for about six months and it was one of the worst experiences I've had yet. My biggest gripe was running out of work all the time. I very seldom made more than 500 lines on any given day. When I complained to my prod. supervisor she was helpful and added on another account but it was more of the same. I wound up with three accounts with no work in any of them.
On top of that you get the usual mess of working with each client's profile preferences (which is no big deal cuz that's standard) but one hospital was a doozy. Pretty much everything you've ever learned about medical transcription, just throw it out the window because there were four pages of do/don'ts, and Always Always do this except for. Everything almost completely opposite of how we all learned. And that was just one account.
Why a company would allow any hospital to dictate such terms is beyond me. Then to make matters worse their QA was terrible. Literally I would get different rules for each QA. I could always tell who was on depending on how they checked my work. The pay was actually decent and they were generous with allowing me to have a flexible schedule. I never had any real problems with any staff although I wish I could find their recruiter and ring her lil neck.
Never again. Never.
If you're looking for part-time work to fill your time this might be the right place for you. If you're working to pay the bills, just don't even waste your time.
No I am not a troll, but I did find a job. Good for me
I found a job as a medical secretary and that is good enough for me right now. It is not the best situation, but I will get some SUM tapes and practice. Thanks for the advise.
Good luck wherever you go...hopefully you find the right fit for you...
nm
Let us know if you find it!! Good luck...nm

Why test to find out their pay is not good?
The recruiter should answer the question regarding pay before wasting time on testing. JMO.
Good luck!. When you find the company, let us know. sm
I'm in the same boat.
I have been looking and hope to find a good 'home' soon! NM

i didn't find the communication to be good
well, it was as long as i said everything was rosey. Soon as things weren't so perfect, they became much less than friendly.
Does anyone know anything (good or bad) about DTS America? Haven't been able to find anything at

Good company, for sure. Find one where you're SM
consistently safe from overhiring--and then come back and give all the rest of us the name. In the meantime, for me at Webmedx most days have plenty of work, although some days require adjusting my schedule during the day to the work flow.
You know, evolving electronic capabilities and patient needs have now led hospitals--our employers' clients--to expect the very quick turnaround needed. Years past have taught home MTs we can work when it suits us. Is it any wonder that MTSOs are currently doing their best to deal with these realities by overhiring when needed? Webmedx is trying to stabilize this situation to everyone's benefit--economic at least for us--by pushing its MTs to meet our commitment of hours per week while still allowing some flexibility.
I'm MsIndigo and I approved this ad. :) Best wishes whereever you land.
Do you find that you are able to earn a good income with them?
Do you have ample work, or do you often have to resort to MT work to fill the time?
Anyone find Oracle to be a good company?
I was just referred to Oracle Transcription Services. Is this a good place to consider switching to as an IC, as this is all they hire. The flexible schedule of an IC definitely appeals to me.
Anyone find a good home at Softscript?
Any feedback appreciated.
Good - Find someone else to spew your venom at
You must really have a heart on for LandMark the way you jumped all over MY post when there are a few posts in this thread that said the same thing I did about companies going to VR. I said NOTHING NEGATIVE about LandMark.
You're obviously someone with a shell of a life who has nothing better to do than LOOK for reasons to start internet squabbles to make yourself feel superior in that delusional little world you've carved out for yourself, probably eating en and Jerry's by the quart and rarely seeing the light of day.
I feel sorry for you.
Do yourself a favor and step away from keyboard and get some sunlight on occasion. Perhaps you're lacking in vitamin D.
Gee, I tried real hard to find those good posts,
but all I could find, in addition to the other complaints already listed, were complaints about being in the "middle of an 11-minute job when it was pulled and given to someone else," "There has to be a better way NOT to make a living," "I know I am going to end up on food stamps," complaints of no compensation for down time and BTXT being down and MTs not being notified.
If there were one or two positive comments about it on there somewhere, they are certainly overshadowed by all the justified negativity, outrage and frustration that's there.
I wouldn't wish this company on my worst enemy, and you should be ashamed of yourself if you recommend that anyone apply there for employment these days. It used to be a good company, and like the song says, "Used-to-be's don't count any more." Although I don't expect them to "bring me flowers" I do expect to be able to earn a living wage, and those days are quickly disappearing.
Make your own nest. Find a couple of good
accounts, multiple companies if you have to. Work on them every day just to stay on top of it. I used to bend over backwards to try to help where needed, but all I ever got was kicked in the head, so now I just do my routine. When they start appreciating people, (and not just an occasional 'oh how wonderful you are' when they are backlogged and know you can do a lot of work), by some type of recognition like a raise or promotion, then you can go back to being the nice guy.
Good MT hard to find & 1 familiar with platform is

Does anyone that is currently or had worked for DSG find it rather difficult to get a good line
count for some reason.
Question for anyone currently with DSG. Do you find it is difficult to get good lines there.
I started recently and seem to find it rather difficult to get a good line count for some reason. Help appreciated.
Loyalty?
How can you be loyal to a company that took your work and sent it offshore and then turns around and blames you for the poor quality! The fact of the matter is, they took a good company, got greedy and offshored for cheaper MTs and LIED about it, to everyone!!!! Now, they are paying the price! She didn't show any of us MTs any loyalty when she decided to offshore; heck, she lied continuously about it for months, so how can you have any loyalty for her? For those of you who have been having low work volumes, why do you think that is? It's because the offshore company is promised a set amount of work, so they get the work first, then the loyal MTs get what's left! Think about how far things have gone down hill in the past years. Dust off those resumes girls
I go by loyalty s/m
The company that overall treats me the best takes first priority for me.
Loyalty
Loyalty should go 2 ways. If they value you as an MT and cannot keep you busy enough so that you need 2 jobs, they should not object to your saying you would love to help them out on that particular day, but you have a prior commitment. They do not need to know you are working 2 jobs.
Co. out for $, no loyalty to anyone. We should also

Loyalty to MDI
I have been in this business 17 years, half of that time running my own service until people kept undercutting to the point it was not profitable. Before that worked for a major Fortune 500 company that has laid people off for the last 20 years all while increasing the salaries and bonuses of the top executives (I was laid off 3 separate times, dh is still there but after 35 years now has to work a terrible shift to keep his job and who knows for how much longer.) No offense but I always thought you girls who were so loyal to MDI were living in a bubble that was going to burst. This was not your family or your best friend. This was your JOB, working for a company just like any other company in this country and I learned long ago the employees don't matter. I have a few more years until retirement hopefully and was hoping to stick it out but I am seriously thinking I need to get out of this industry and go back to school. Reading the SEC filing about Transcend has me a little shocked and disappointed. As I said before everyone needs to do what they need to do for themselves. Good luck to all.
Unlike the poster below, I did not find the ESLs good dictators at FN. sm
In fact, in my over 20 years of experience, they were the worst I have ever heard. We got way more than 3 e-mails a day, too. More like 10 to 15, beginning for help and sometimes bordering on threatening. If you are really good with ESLs, you MIGHT do okay. But who wants to put up with that?!? No bennies either. Glad I am long long gone. The grass really is greener.
I think you would be doing good to find a reputable company, much less by putting qualifiers
:+
How many accts did you experience in 3 days? Been there for a few months and so far so good. I find
but compared to where I was the lines sure do add up, and I absolutely love my acct, supervisor, tech people and QA! All have been great!!
You may have to move on to move ahead (sm)
One way to look at what you are doing right now is more training only you are being paid for it; once you have a year or two under your belt as experience, you may be able to command a higher wage someplace else. It's funny, a place will pay more for someone with 2 years' experience than they will pay someone who has worked for them for 2 years! Go figure.
Yes, you should run very quickly, it is by
far the worst company to work for.
