I was NOT being sarcastic! Medquist truly IS my best company - my previous company paid $9/hr. and at the Q I make $25 - U may open mouth and insert foot now, missy!

pardon the

I beg your pardon.
But I have no idea what you are talking about. My interpretation was entirely different. There is no need to be nasty.
I BEG YOUR PARDON
I think any company where you cannot verify how many reports you have done in a shift with the line count on the Dictaphone web site is a crock and I told them that. What if you have dropped reports or 2 or 3 of your reports aren't there? You cannot verify that.
There is a part on the beginning that says sessions and it is blocked. This is where the number of reports and line count can be shown for a day.
Pardon me...
I was referring to the person who we reported to directly. You can bet whatever you want. I can only speak truthfully about MY experience. Please feel free to share your experiences, but please don't try to discount someone else's experience with Axolotl because your experience is different. I have no reason to lie. I followed all rules and met all requirements while I was there, even though it was a struggle to do so.
I was well aware of the procedures in bringing QA inconsistencies to the attention of management. However, because of the nasty attitude of the manager, I just dealt with as long as I was there. I did not want to deal with her unless I absolutely had to.
Instead of trying to berate my post and call me a liar, why don't you try to post more constructively and answer the OPs questions. You will not stop me from sharing my experience with Axolotl TRUTHFULLY. As far as I am concerned, your post is pointless as I have no interest in working for Axolotl and have a great job where I am doing well - with kind and professional supes/managers to boot.
Any time I see someone inquiring about Axolotl, if the mood strikes me, I will post my experience again. If you don't like it, too bad. All you are doing is showing that not only does Axolotl have a nasty supe...they also have nasty MTs/QA whichever you may be.
To NOT A SHEEP - I beg your pardon!
First of all, I am don't consider myself one of the "favorites" that you mentioned on your post. I don't get gravy jobs. Au contraire! I'm certain that some people sign out when they see bad dictators because I often get only really bad dictators, but aside from joking about them, I still do them. I don't suck up to anyone. I have not had a raise. The only bonuses I have received were for working extra. I am aware that I am not the only person to experience a disaster (a month after having cancer surgery, mind you), but I received no money from OSi simply for that reason. I can type over 100 words a minute, but I stay on a job until I know that I have given it my best, and QA very, very seldom receives a job from me. I appreciate the people who have shown empathy and tolerance, especially when I'm sure that I was a real handful, and they have been as accommodating as they could reasonably be. I have just lived through a year from hell that is ongoing, and OSi has treated me better than I could ever have expected. I am not trying to be a "favorite." I am simply trying to do the best job that I can. When I take a person's money, I accept no less from myself than to actually work to earn it. I have years and years of experience, probably more years than you have been on this earth, as I cannot believe that a person with maturity and wisdom could write such bunk. I have probably forgotten more than you will ever learn, but I still know my place. I frankly don't care what you say about me. You don't write my paycheck. My loyalty lies to my employer, who has put up with me when they probably would rather have strangled me!
Pardon my ignorance
what is a hayseed and why are you proud to be one?
Pardon the typo should be "they are" all bad
NM
Beg your pardon. Not the minority. Hospitals are getting clued in.
important.
If we give them the proof by way of solid proof in educating them on how it is done - they will bring transcription back in-house to gain control of the cost.
Medical records are legal documents. Right now they are carelessly done and at great expense. Hospitals are paying through the nose for this "convenience". Times are getting tough and cost saving measures are on the horizon.
Control control control.
pardon the typos on "Advice needed"
nm
You must be very young and your wish list
seems very unrealistic. I think a matched 401k is great and something we all need. You seem to want a lot, what are you giving back to the company for all the wishes? A dedicated employee, one who supports the company and doesn't backbite, one who works any and all OT when they need help? Why do MTs feel they deserve anymore than what they agree to when they take a job? I hope you can find all you wish, but I think it's a fantasy in reality.
You sound really young.
I can overlook your statements on that account.
Jan, you sound very, very young. sm
Also, I didn't know Xanax made people abstain from alcohol. LOL!!!
Oh, pardon me. It's just that when I'm wondering how I'm gonna make my house pmt
making half what I did last month at this time tends to make me a little testy.
My apologies.
Hun! How young are you. How long you been MT'ing.
I know it is possible, but I can promise you as the years keeping on passing you will slow down...16-17 hours a day for 6 days a week? What life?
No, I'm not that young, but I am a newbie. Thank you for the info.
.
3000 each day? Wish I was young again-LOL - good for you!
nm
If they point, I suppose she's young.
x
Yeah, and she's probably young and cute too! LOL (nm)

Grandchildren keep me young. I have had 2 FT this summer (sm)
and occasional trips to town for teenaged grandson who has stayed at home this summer. Sometimes it is hectic and I feel stressed getting my hours/lines in, but then I take my mother to the Senior Center and watch all those people with so little to occupy their time and I feel really lucky.
During school year the 2 youngest still catch the bus here and come here after school. I am able to adjust my schedule so I can attend school functions/lunches during the day if their mom can't.
There may be a lot of problems with MT work anymore, but these are the reasons I and many other stay with it.
Things AREN'T so rosy, I meant and pardon the typos - nm

I'm afraid I'm 2 young 4 andropause, missy!
"making some young white hotshot"
Wow....and I thought I had issues!
I worked for a guy who owned a landscape nursery who was just like that though...He was younger than most everyone there and couldn't have weighed 90 pounds soakin' wet AND he had to look up at all of us (barely made 5 feet!)...it was so hard to keep a straight face when he got all upset and pissy over something. You'd never see him walking around his domain to keep an eye on things...uh oh. He'd be tooling around in his Bobcat shouting orders from over a bullhorn. Oh my god it was a riot!
To be fair to the above poster, $11/hour gross is kinda low though, so I can see how someone would be tweeked at that.
There are young children who have hearing issues
from babies on up. Why do you think this is age discrimination and why would you say sue?
Thank you, I am young. Do NOT drink alcohol if you take Xanax, dummy..
MT advanced to a recruiter, LMAO !
They snowballed you. The owner is a young man who inherited the business. sm
He has no transcription background, although that does not always matter.
Most of their accounts are Meditech. They are fairly small, with about 80 MT's.
No negative feedback on them so far, which is always a plus.
More elderly would have health problems than young people... sm
Although anyone can be sick... yes, this slants the bias against older Americans.
This is the TTD lady for sure
Or someone who works with her. No MT would be saying so what.
The Fat Lady Sang
Yes, but did she sing in harmony?
Thank you kind lady.
nm
some lady called...
sounded more like she was screening me. She asked if I had the required needed to work for them (cardiology/pulmonology), line count, high-speed, etc. I told her yes, and she said someone would call me in a few days--that was a few months ago.
You are way off base lady
I have worked with Holocaust survivors, have you? Ive worked cleaning their rooms taking people for walks, holding hands, listening to stories of horror and hope, shared art therapy moments, given hugs and support. Dont you dare judge me. You are way out of line, whoever you are. If you get nothing else from what I've written here, get this: No one wants to be labeled a victim. You have absolutely no right.
Peace.
She's a nice lady but there isn't
I spent most weekends on her stuff. The pay was way low, but she doesn't charge much anyway. She would dump on me Fri night... not sure why she keeps needing this same position, but that should tell you something. She posts for this position every month or so... I guess no one lasts....
You mean the lady named Pepper at OSI?
who knew!
Ur gettin' on my nerves, old lady!
When the lady sold her company to..sm
Execuscribe, it went downhill from there. I was hired by them, went through ALL of the testing except the Psych thing.....and then I was told I would be paid 7 cpl and I had to purchase liability insurance. CC....this Denise person must have been your "bestest" friend????
nice spelling lady
x
I'd say no way, nice lady or not. There is absolutely no
way I would wait for 45 days for a paycheck. She's waiting to get paid before she pays MT and if she doesn't have the $$ to pay MTs whether or not account pays, that doesn't speak well of the company. Also I'm assuming that 6 cpl is as an IC. You'd be better off working in fast food.
There is a lady who posted here in the past - sm
Snowbunny I think is her name that uses it a lot because of her CTS I think. I just recently reloaded it on my computer (had it on my old one but never programed it), and still need to work with it a bit in order to actually start using it. I think it would help me a lot as I am not very fast at typing, even with my shortcuts, etc. Plus it would break up the monotony some I think. I have DNS8. I want to upgrade to the newest (10) but it is quite expensive, so it will probably wait a while. But I have heard if utilized correctly and with some work it can be worthwhile, but like anything it takes practice and you need to build it up, etc.
The J&J lady said to call her if there are questions.
It doesn't matter to me at all, so I haven't.
High maintenance lady? LOL
High maintenance ladies usually find themselves a sugar daddy to provide their maintenance. LOL Ever consider combining your traveling to help someone who is less high maintenance? Do you know that you can volunteer just about anywhere in the world doing good while vacationing at the same time? How about volunteering with Habitat For Humanity? You could combine that with your traveling too. Gives you a much more warm and fuzzy feeling than just doing for yourself. BTW we just bought a nice large motor home to serve as our private motel room. Actually my husband and I are pretty low maintenance, we get our kicks by doing things for other less fortunate people. Try it, you might like it.
BTW Chatty, how have you been doing the last few years anyhow? Don't ya just love being anon? LOL
Hey coffee lady MssIndigo!
I got a kick out of reading your original post about VR and I appreciate this feedback also. I know, it's though though and I have been an MT for 20 years. I thought I was going to be transcribing when I got the job but it is mostly VR and my minimal goal is to achieve 250 lph, which is creeping up, but not there yet. I tell you though... I work hard for that money. My biggest thing with any new company is constantly looking up docs and different facilities. If not for that, my fingers would be flying. Let us all hang in there with a sip of coffee every now and again, eh!
She's a sweet lady. She has a lot of experience and a lot of stories that go with it.
I like her a lot, but I can kind of see where you are coming from, as whenever I've spoken with her I could pretty much write off the next 60-90 minutes. It was a great time to clean out email, though! (And if you are reading this, you-know-who, it's not a criticism but rather an acknowledgement that you have a LOT of stories to tell!)
It is the lady who I call to request time off?
nm
Does anyone know how to contact the lady at Administrative Assistants?? (sm)
I can't find anything for a website or in the archives here on how to contact. Thank you.
Tired of being called an old lady or aging!
I am in this over 26 years. call me old! I am young at heart, about 21. I am also in biological age just 47! How dare you assume. Some of us started working our way through college! I have 3 small children yet, and plan to work for many years to come in this industry. Also don't talk to me like a dutch uncle telling me how I complain this, etc. You don't know me (the above poster) and don't presume you do! I am at once apalled, and insulted someone would come here and talk to me, the one reading this, that way. If you had to put your user name on a regular basis, you would never speak this way. One thing about this board is allowing people to post names on this board begets nastiness. There, now. I have said my old lady, lazy, bad-quality, MTness piece!
Me thinks the lady doth protest too much
I do not know All Type or any of the people involved in this but it have been reading along because I am interviewing with them next week. I was very upset by this and scared that I had made the wrong choice. You have made a lot of statements and I was thinking that you were treated unfairly and that I hoped you proved your case in court and maybe make our place in the industry a little stronger. We are the lowest people on the totem pole in every company and we do get kicked around a lot. But you now sound like you had it in for one particular person at your company and have worked very hard to cause problems for that person. I just do not know why you would stay there or even want to go back if you hate this person and she makes you this unhappy with your life and job and she singled you out to cut your pay so drastically. I agree with the other poster who said you have wasted a great deal of time on this and that you should move on and find yourself a better job with a company that is a better fit for you. I think you have gone too far and become far too emotional when you get this dangerously close to slander.

i got an email from them. Very nice lady, would love to work for
I'm sure they pay very well but I need the insurance. I went with JLG.
I worked for a lady's service who was bought out by Transcend
a few years ago and they offered her a position in the home office. She sold, had the job for a few months and then she was terminated. I know for a fact that Transcend said in a paper article in the Atlanta Journal and Constitution that they outsourced because could not find enough American MTs to do the work. Now what I find surprising is how many complain on here about sitting and waking for work for Transcend. Wonder how that happens?
Funny, but the lady I talked to on the phone about a job there made me decide right then for some
gut feeling that this wasnt for me. Not sure exactly what it was but sort of turned me off.
It's IC, hospice reports, Dictaphone ExText. Nice lady, but
