Pay level for 3-4 years experience?

What would you say a good rate would be for my experience level?  I currently make 7.5 cpl at 1000 lines and 8.0 cpl for 1200 lines at my company.  This does not include any shift differential.  I am mostly clinic and not acute care if that makes a difference.

Thanks.

entry level
any 1 know of entry level MT jobs in centrl txs or at hme..???
Entry level
Has anyone received a response from the entry level position on a pediatric account with Medtransolutions?
entry level
I'm thinking about getting my MT certificate and need some advice. Is it hard to find work as an entry level mt? Also, does it matter where I get my certificate (at home or reg classroom)? Do most companies have set hours or do you work when you want? I'm really excited about this new career! Any advise?
Why entry level only?
I see where World Wide Dictation is looking for entry level transcriptionists to do non-medical work.....insurance claims, paying up to 9.5 cpl.  Why only entry level?  If it's such simple work, why not let anyone in who is willing to do it for the amount offered?
MT entry level?
Lately I have read where companies offering you an MT position and then say you have an opportunity for advancement. This really ticks me off!! I Love being an MT, have always felt that an Acute Care/Hospital Medical Transcriptionist was at the top. I personally would not want a QA or administration position and certainly do not feel I would be making a move up…at the absolute least it would be just a different move.

The only thing I do not like about being an MT is that most companies don't give raises if you get paid per line or are an IC. I have been doing this for 12+ years and companies want to pay the same rates per line as 12 years ago. The only way to make more money is to type faster and/or more hours. They have forget about the cost of living that keeps going up.

Does anyone ever hire entry level MT?

Hi all, I was wondering if there is any company out there hiring for entry level MTs.  I have the Medical background and the typing skills.  I'm a fast learner and looking to work at home as an MT.  Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

Laurie

Webmedx-Entry level?
Does Webmedx ever hire entry-level MTs?  Anyone gotten hired with less than the 2 years experienced required?  I have about 6 months acute care.  Is Webmedx one of the companies that will wave this experience for an MT from one of the AAMT-approved schools?
Hiring MTs with entry level exp
I have just graduated from a MT program and am looking for work.  I am willing to work the hours no one else wants.  Can anyone suggest companies that hire MTs with entry level experience.  My husband is working in Iraq and I would like to supplement his income so he can come home.
Entry-level work
What companies like to hire recent grads other than Focus and Encompass?
Entry-level work
Thank you!
Entry-level MTs are hired all the time...
but in this industry, entry level usually refers to someone who has completed a comprehensive MT training course but has no actual paid MT experience. My suggestion would be to investigate training at M-TEC or Andrews before thinking of looking for a job.
If you are entry level, what is the line requirement.

and how long will they give you to make that count.  Also can someone tell me what the pay will be for entry level.  I see they are hiring all the time and was interested.

Thanks.

Are there any companies who hires entry-level MTs

Does anybody knows who hires entry-level MTs?

KG

I wonder what the work looks like with entry level MTs bouncing around in these accounts. Well, they
MQ will just continue to lose accounts and there will be less and less work. The entry level MTs cannot produce nearly what the experienced MTs can I know this from my supervisor and they send everything to QA because they arent sure of themselves so does this make sense. Not to me.
yes, but it states no entry-level hows that for interesting?
nm
What about the Entry Level Computer Support Specialist.....sm
opening that is listed in Atlanta Journal (ajc.com). Do you think it's pretty much already filled from within?
some companies hire entry level graduates
nm
Assumed she meant to-do list... sm
...as the MTs (who actually do the MT work!) are usually at the bottom of The Suits' to-do list as far as acknowledging and/or rewarding and/or appreciating. :-)
Just started new job. I didn't ask, just assumed

(yeah I know what happens when you assume), that I would be doing all Ops.  I've done 99.99% Ops for the last 10+ years.  Anyway, new company says I have to do everything.  There are at least 10 different work types when you count EEGs, echos, caths, etc.   I don't know how many dictators, but the list is 28 pages single-spaced so lots of them.  How in the world can you be productive like that?   The company says I make myself more valuable by being able to do it all.  I can do it all, but I prefer Ops and if I can do them well, even ESLs, and do lots of minutes why wouldn't I be just as valuable.

I thought I made a good move but am seriously rethinking it.

I was offered 8 cpl w/years of experience. He wouldn't say if pay would go up if I didn't take
s
I was feeling bad that they didn't get back to me with my 35+ years of experience, sm

but if that is the pittance they offer for pay, I'm glad they saved me the trouble of turning them down.  Pretty soon, scrubbing toilets will pay more.

Feel lucky you didn't get a rejection email. I have over 16 years experience
and this is the first test, since the very beginning of my career, that I have not passed.  I am stunned.  I'm not perfect by any means, but this is the first real rejection. I understood it early in my career, but after all this time, and working the past five years doing acute care for a couple of nationals, I get turned out by this company because I failed the test and they do not even tell you which part. I needed this job, but I guess it's back to the drawing board.
I didn't know what that meant either! sm
Unfortunately, since I'm 38 and definitely not a young-en, I don't have an excuse!
That is exactly what I meant. I also didn't say

she shouldn't/didn't have to tell the company she needed some time off, just said she didn't have to ASK for it and she didn't need their approval.

I never said and didn't mean the MTs...I meant the management!!!!! sm
They brought management from MQ and put them in management positions!! See? Yes you were smart. Wish I had been that smart.
Meant to add each experience is different sm
Just because a company gets glowing responses does not mean it will be the right fit for a specific person, and on the other side, just because people have bad things to say about another company does not mean that it could be a good employer for someone else. As I said, the company I am with now has not always had the best comments about it, but it is wonderful for me. To each her own and good luck in whatever you do.
Sorry, I meant for years....
:)
oops...meant "My experience"
nm
I'm high level 4, all acute care, high ESL, many years exp. and highest QA grades...
In case you are wondering...All acute care, all specialties. I request new accounts, and yet they all run out of work...not just during usual slow periods...
Oops... I meant years NM
x
I meant years lol.. where's my head at today.

Oops. I meant I have been MT for 6-7 years, been with Worda
w4r
oops, meant 10+ years--it's been a long day!! nm
..
That is who I meant, worked for them years ago. Like there platform, so simple.
nm
They have a low level 4, high level 4 and level 5.
nm
Didn't have any "attitude." My experience
I have the experience and my skills are very much in demand.
This was my exact experience so I didn't
x
I wish they didn't require 5 yrs experience ..
I've only got a little over 3 years.
I didn't experience the same with Transcend...sm
I trained 2 days after I completed my paperwork and have 2 accounts. I rarely run out of work and if I do - if I take a 15 minute break and go back in there will be work there.
Awful experience with them. I didn't
have to buy Word because I already had it but the QA person was horrible and very rude.  She kept telling me to use the samples but the samples made absolutely no sense. I'd get reports back with things filled in that I knew had not been dictated.  I was trying to transcribe what I heard and pointed that out but was still told to use the samples.  Horrible experience and knew it wasn't going anywhere so got out.  Very happy in my new position without the QA rudeness.
Okay. Don't say in a few years I didn't
x
I didn't have the best experience, but it was not a good fit for me. Still waiting to get
hh
Was offered 8-1/4 cpl for experience. They use MT World software. Didn't take the job. nm
s
I worked for them about 2 years ago...didn't have to go to the office
to train though, did it at home. At the time they paid by the character...some off the wall formula to get the actual pay, but worked out to around 8 cpl so they said. QA sucked at their job, just didn't have the knowledge I guess. And management...you just don't want to work there!
It didn't when I worked with MQ, but that was a couple of years ago. SM
Instant Text works very well with DQS, though.
Webmedx didn't about 1-1/2 years ago. Good luck. nm
x
7.25 cpl - 12 years experience
x
With how many years of experience ?
x
I have 18 years of experience and yet
I got sent a letter telling me to reapply when I had more experience.

They would not tell me what I missed on their testing. I know I did not do that badly.

You can have them.
I have 20 years experience....
they wanted to pay me $10/hr for the first 30 days. Puleeze.
