Sat here all day doing figures on doing something different. Email me for the results if you want. Was not that hard to put some things together to make more than MTing. Worked for 3 companies in the past 12 years and don't know which one I dislike the most right now. The company I work for now publicly said they allow the MTs to work at home. 'Bout fell out of my chair. Wanted to comment that if the company had a building big enough to seat 200 MTs, cover the cost of utilities, virus protection, computers, rent and benefits, phone, reference books, etc., and could find 200 people in their given area that were skilled and accurately do the work and keep the clients satisfied, go for it but don't ever suggest you allow us to work at home with no raises and low starting pay while our utilities, Internet and virus protection rates go up. GRRR. The one thing I do know is I can no longer make an adequate living do this and the only regret I have is staying in the profession as long as I have. The last 3 years have been particularly regretful and I don't usually do regret in my life.
On to something where I am a bit more active than sitting at a desk and think it would be much healthier and I know can be more productive. I believe we are forced as MTs to work for nationals in most cases and personally believe that nothing but greed on their part has ruined the industry I was once proud to be part of.
