They don't hate their employees. As far as your Spheris-specific complaints above, found the exact opposite to be true.
They're not going down the tubes; in fact, they are headed toward taking MQ's spot as #1 in the industry. They are #2 currently.
I had many offers to do QA and even go into management but I preferred to control my income by MTing. I made top dollars with that company and they were always working with me.
I can see you did not have a good experience there. Have you ever enjoyed any company you worked for or have you always had these feelings everytime you left one?

I know you have to email the Expander file, but can't for the life of me remember where exactly that file is located. Tech support told me where to look. They will have to convert it, and then will email it back to you and tell you how/where to put it. They are very, very helpful.
I believe you have made an excellent choice, by the way.

A tech person at Transcend told
that they couldn't believe that anyone would build a platform with code that was so archaic and out of date, with parameters that could not be fixed without rebuilding the whole thing. I've worked on much more reliable platforms. They are out there.

More than one person has left MW because they
refuse to take their crap but you know what, they just do not care! I found that out a long time ago but at least I stood up for what I believed in and they didn't have me anymore. Again they just did not care but a co that appreciated excellent help would. They were more into other things rather than their staff.

greatest! Hated to hear that he had left. We got some real doozies for tech help now. The MT ends up training them. They are clueless as to what to do when we need help. TRUTH!
They ALWAYS have a BAD attitude in their voice, too -- like we MT's are a bother to them -- thought that is what they get paid for.
You have obviously never worked as a pharmacy tech
Can you rattle off from memory the top 200 frequently written drug names? Can you calculate the rate of an IV drip of a drug based on mixing it into different types of IV solutions based on mg/dL/kg? Have you ever had a report filed against you with your state's Board of Pharmacy because you dispensed a 3 month prescription of a drug and failed to notice that one of the packages was a different strength than the other two, potentially killing a patient? You don't have to have a BS degree to work as a PT.
You can say what you will - but you show how under educated about real business affairs in your posts.
Years of experience for newbies and having a tough time finding jobs? Not when I look at jobs offering 5 cpl and the caliber of the MTs who accept those positions, or when I look at the nationals who are raping the incoming MTs with their mentorship programs...or what the newly merged AAMT/MTIA organization is doing to change how to define a character line because of MQ's legal woes from fraudulent billing practices and the MTSO business leaders who hold positions in the MTIA are mostly offshoring corporate executives.
What our pay should be is no different than that of any other business in this global economy. Did you know that Microsoft has petitioned the US Government to lift the limitation on the number of work visas for highly trained foreign workers because they cannot meet employment demands based on available US similarly trained workers?
I don't even own a television and I feel a bit more educated in these things than you. Please don't preach to the choir. I understand you are trying to educate others, but you're argument has holes that a truck can drive through.

years ago, went through their in-house OJT program, which was excellent bar none, but only worked for a short while for them because of another transcription opportunity presented to me closer to home (we had to work in-house then). They are a good company, have been around a long time, and I have one friend who has worked with them for years.
Would not hesitate to recommend Med-Tech Resources in Marietta, GA.

I knew one QA person who worked FT for
THREE companies during the same hours. I can't do but ONE job. If I do QA correctly, I have to give feedback, do 100% listen, and still make quota. I never even thought of working more than one QA job at a time, but I have since heard of TWO more people who were working two companies full-time at the same time.

However, I do not believe these people are who are running the profession into the potty. Again, I believe that the MTSOs are using whatever excuse. If there are a few QA doing more than one FT job, there sure are not that many. Most could not keep their job if they did.
I would not do QA by the line, but I do enough in QA that no one would doubt that I pull my weight.

and it would be HER that told all of this to several of us. We actually could not believe she was not fired for her behavior if she was telling the truth about what was going on. Now maybe those things she told us were true and maybe they were not. The point is that she was either blowing smoke then or she is blowing smoke now but she cannot have it both ways. I hope if she is telling the truth that she is vindicated by the law. But knowing both parties here,I think that she is an absoulte fruit and it ain't gonna' happen. I worked there for 2 years. There were a lot of policies there that I did not like. I left there and found a company that is better suited to me and treats their employees much better.
How long have you been there? I know leaving the comfort of a job is tough but there are much better companies to work for (in my opinon anyway)
I worked for MQ for 12+ years, left in
6/07. Up until 1/07 it was a good place to work. But in 1/07 they started losing accounts and in 6/07 changed the incentive plan to the point I was losing $600 a month, not to mention the inflexibility of schedules, no communication, lack of raises (did not have one in 5 years), etc. I have never once regretted leaving especially after reading the MQ Board. If you just start there and did not go through the changes it might be okay, but if you have a choice to not go there.

of full time lines, so no sign on bonus. I had an 80% ESL account and I cared more about the quality, so I made less than 900 dollars a payperiod. Great quality, good for them and my conscience, but not enough money to live on, no sign on bonus and no benefits. I left for a company where I am already far exceeding 900 dollars a payperiod with no sweat. BTW: No incentive or good QA bonuses at Transcend, so that was no help. No differential either. They do pay overtime, but that is not so great when you are trying to make sure you understand multiple foreign accents. Good luck to you.

2 years ago. I experienced alot of the same treatment the orgiinal poster experienced. Everyones situation is different but don't discount anyone's experience. Just because one MT had a good experience doesn't mean everyone will and visa versa.

I worked there for 2 years and am glad I left
However, I have several friends that still work there, love it and probably will never leave. I personally choose not to work for a company that outsources overseas. Just my opinion though.

I worked in acute care and left due to lack of work.
My primary was just overflow, though they didn't tell us that. I had followed the account from another company and there should have been 3 times the work. Every week I was asking for a new account because they kept giving me accounts that were evidently overlow or otherwise very low volume accounts and I still wasn't getting 20 hour/week.
Have you considered radiology tech or lab tech?
A lot of the credits you have acquired for nursing transfer to both of those programs. Probably a little less stressful.

I printed them to show my manager but she told me that there are few bitter people out there and no one can do anything about them. My manager said that everyone can tell that it is the same few over and over again, for Keystrokes and a few other companies as well. Time to move on Ms. Anon. I cannot think why a company would go through the trouble of getting IDs and getting you installed just to ignore you after that. Doesn't make sense, does it? Are you sure that't the whole truth? I don't even know why I stayed with them as long as I did. There was hardly ever any work. I would ask to be placed on another account for more work, but the other accounts had no work as well?!! No direct deposit. My paycheck was never calculated correctly and it was hell trying to get the money I was actually owed. Having to log every single job you do and every single mistake found in the job plus calculating the line and character count at the end of the day was just ridiculous. I really have nothing good to say about this company.
