I Sooo Agree...some HR Recruiters/companies

do not realize how much a waste of time it is for them and the potential employee/IC to go on with an endless hiring process of repeating application questions, testing, etc...possibly only to find out that they do not pay enough, or some other major item that is not unacceptable to one of the parties. I have had some time-waster interviews, and I do not like to feel I've wasted my time any more than the recruiter does.

They are recruiters and get paid by the companies
they represent. They represent the same companies that post on the job boards. They don't get you more $$ or a better schedule. They only represent a couple of companies and are going to refer you to one of them, whether it is a good fit for you or not. If you decline a position you'll never hear from them again.
If you'll read the archives you'll find lots on them and all state about the same thing.
Anyone else feel that these companies that are hiring should hire more recruiters?
So perhaps we'd hear something back within a reasonable amount of time!
that's too bad..maybe it's the recruiters accusing others of being recruiters...

If SOOO many are saying it ... sm
i.e., with STRAIGHT typing and not being able to make lines/minimum wage... I'm sure there must be something to it. All these MTs can't be making it up!
Since anything even remotely resembling English has gone the way of ($$$ for MTSOs) VR ... all that seems to be left is transcription that is rejected by VR ... all that's left for the dedicated, experienced MTs is GARBAGE ... it's not the LACK OF WORK ... it's the TYPE OF WORK the straight typing MTs are reduced to. So, off your high horse and start doing 8 hours' worth of this crap (actual 14-16 hours required) to get FT lines in .. and then tell us we're not cutting it!
This is sooo true!
I know from personal experience. The newbie gets in to work for a service and gets put in the FIFO pool and then complains all the time that there are too many dictators and they cannot understand them, or they do not know that speciality, yet they begged to get hired and promised they would do anything to gain experience, yet they cannot do the actual work.
SINCE EVERYONE IS SOOO NASTY
About typos, doesn't anyone know the difference between the usage of NO AND KNOW?
sooo true....
You are exactly right. My favorite I found to be true is..misery loves company. I also believe in the Laws of Attraction,,, if you're miserable, you attract misery. If your happy... you attract happiness as more people like to be around you and everyone puts everyone is a better mood.
Sooo obvious..
It's so obvious that these last few replies were by the company/employees themselves in efforts to dismiss what is going on. MTs don't snooze on this one! Troll.. that is funny
cause I am sooo sick of hearing (sm)
whining and griping and complaining about the same old same old!!! That's why! And if it agitates YOU to think about finding another flippin' job, then so what! I really don't care! I say, if your job stresses you out this much, it is very easy to look elsewhere. There are only TONS and TONS of other places to work, so...find another J-O-B! Simple as that! And quit yer whining, why don't cha?
ohhhhh my, sooo sorry (that was no class act)sm
And some on this board say the MTs complain (for no reason, their fault etc.
Ya know what, I am not here daily but I seem to see some of the same theme over and over and then to take heed. I know people stretch, etc, but I believe it, yes, I do.(one that got me recently was PAYPAL and having to pay $10 for a check that is $240 to get paid, (20 a month)
Sooo, is Trans Tech VR is that why sm
there is seemingly disenchantment in the postings? I will not try VR again, so just wanted to know. I will never EVER work for that kind of money EVER. This is a highly skilled and technical, knowledgable based profession. PERIOD and ever changing info to keep up with.
Well, aren't you just SOOO special!
that place is sooo boring; who posts there?
jobs there. I think Spheris also has job ads there...
I bet Keystrokes is sooo glad they posted their benefits! LOL
Sheesh! Talk about attack mode!
I am SOOO sick and tired of BEGGING for work!
Anyone know of a company that is hiring ICs, flexible scheduling, multispecialty clinic, at least 8 cents a line (shows my desperation...!), steady, dependable work flow for the most part, a company where you can stay and work for at least a few years straight. Any out there? Do not want MDI-MD. Do not want to be an employee - want to be an IC. Do not want any complicated platforms. Any smaller companies out there? I can't find jack lately, even with over 10 years experience. I need consistent work!
I agree with you, but do most companies look the other way?
nm
oh I agree, the BAD companies seem to be sm
The companies that put you through the ringer and waste all your time, some how end up being the crappy ones to work for, micromanaging, superior attitudes, low pay, emails all day long addressed to everyone, wasting more and more time.
I agree about some companies getting the accounts
quite a bit of companies gobbling each other up. Whenever there is a management change, there is also employee turnover as procedures are changed. Sometimes it is a matter of MTs not working out with one company and moving on to a better fit at another company and sometimes it is because MTs are being asked to leave because they just don't fit where they chose to go. I don't agree totally with your statement about good for MTs as while there may be jobs being offered, the industry itself is offering less to the MTs they wish to employee/retain, which also leads to dissatisfaction and increased turnover. It's an ugly cycle IMHO.
Agree that most companies don't care - sm
about your problems, they just look at the bottom line and if the work is getting done or not. I had a similar experience with a different national. Mom was ill too, I was already PT but was not meeting quota, partly due to traveling to help out my dad and to see my mom, also due to no work when I logged on. I did talk to them about my situation and despite being told they understood and were fine with it, they canned me about 2 months into my mom's illness since I was not producing enough. So much for being understanding. I was doing the best I could in the circumstances. I understand their position, but don't say that it is okay and then fire you because you are not meeting quota (after they said it was okay not to). They were not shorthanded so it was not a question of keeping up with TAT, they had too many people and we were all fighting over the scraps as it was. I was not heart-broken to leave, it was their loss and I am glad to be away from all their crazy rules. I just went on to work more for my backup job in the long run.(I always work 2 to cover my butt).
I agree. There are no perfect companies out there....
But....I feel MDI is a great company to work for. If you have to nit pick every little thing, I don't think you will ever be happy no matter where you work. And by the way, it sure doesn't take much time at all to look up docs on the roster. Question....what do you do if you don't know a drug name?? Do you look it up, use the internet or just leave a blank??? In my eyes, it's all the same. Research to produce a good product is all the same.
Agree. Sometimes I think these companies are just getting jobs done for free. (NM)

I agree on all fronts! Same experience, but 3 different companies. All

I agree.. It seems to me that some companies may "make up" names because they know they have t
one to post here. Can't anyone get more creative than putting Nintendon's XBox and Game Cube together LOL.. I believe the rapper is Ice T but I'm not for sure. I'd have to ask my teenagers.
I agree. There is a reason why companies ask this question - SM
Most good companies will ask you this question so that they can place you an account that is a good match for you and one that you will enjoy. Why does this irritate you??? You should be happy that they want to make sure to match you up with a good account. Would you rather they not ask and place you on an account that you hate? I would get over it.
Have to agree. Tax time hits companies, too.
x
I agree, but it is what it is.....the companies don't care about anything but TAT and lines, line
Unfortunately, it all boils down to the bottom line, money.
I believe a "thank you" is warranted in many cases, but don't hold your breath for one.
It is sad, very sad.
I agree. Big companies are killing the American dream
.
I agree - speak up. Most companies / supervisors want to hear sm
what their MTs want, to make them happy - or at least mine does!
I agree.. Too many companies treat employees unfairly and feel they can get away with it.
Too many MTs would have just turned the other cheek, chocking it up to a bad experience and moved on, which is what I probably would have done, but the buck has to stop somewhere. Good for that MT...
Now the recruiters have gotten
Take it to the job seekers board and post away. I don't believe you are a happy MT. It sounds like you want to recruit some happy MTs.
Those recruiters will say anything SM
to keep you talking to them. Come back after you've spoken with the supervisor because I am willing to bet they aren't going to be flexible other than 30 minutes either way on a shift and definitely no 12-hour window.
Think what you wish? I know several recruiters
and they make much more than $35000.
MTs for recruiters
Maybe instead of overworking the recruiters, those of us who want jobs should be hired as recruiters, MTs and QA people. At least we would know what NOT to do!!
MT RECRUITERS, INC.
Anyone know anything about these people?
What's up with TT recruiters?
I emailed a resume with an immediate response. Emailed back with question and then received a reply but now that I have emailed back, nothing for days and days. Makes me wonder.......
was it one of those RECRUITERS? lol
/
The recruiters for SS are just as bad!
All around smarmy situation here, worse than anything I've ever seen. And I've been in this biz a long time...
I loved when they sent around the memo to nominate them for MTSO of the year. Were they serious or just rubbing in their nastiness?
Exactly! Get rid of the recruiters, the
secretaries to the secretaries, the assitants to the assistant manager/supervisor, etc., most of the human resources personnel, even some of the so-called techs who don't know as much about computers as I do! Trim the fat in other places besides the ones who are actually producing the document which earns the company money! Why cut the ones generate actual REVENUE rather than the office fluff & executive-type positions?
Recruiters and their Styles
It seems the more telephone interviews I go through the stranger they become. You really have to wonder how a lot of so-called MT recruiters ever got hired to recruit. Where on this planet did these companies dig them up from?!!! Sometimes you are asked the strangest questions. It is usually like they don't even have your resume in front of them, never saw your test results, etc. Ask them questions and try to get straight answers...What a nightmare...Any funny stories to tell???
I think the job of recruiters is to get people to
work for the company. If you are qualified and past testing they want you. Some recruiters get paid a bonus for each hire, others just need to have new hires to show they are doing their job. I have had dealings with one recruiter who told me what a wonderful account they wanted me to work on, that people on it just loved it and there was rarely an opening so I should count my blessings. I talked to the team leader and she told me about the account and how hard it was and that they couldn't keep MTs on it. I had worked on that account at a different company and I knew for a fact how hard it was. Fortunately for me the team leader was honest, because had I taken the job based on the recruiter I would have quit the next day.
I think a recruiter should be as honest as they can be because it costs money to hire and train and if the MT isn't going to stay because what she was told and what IS was to different things it doesn't look good. I have had recruiters who are not/have never been MTs and they haven't a clue what you are talking about half the time.
I have adopted Oprah's advice - doubt means don't. If I don't have a good feeling about a company I won't take the job.
Have you asked their recruiters? -nm

Clique/recruiters
Maybe it is one recruiter who works for several companies. A clique of one!
There are recruiters who work for more than sm
one company and they could play an obstacle game with an applicant who refused an offer from one company and applied to the other. People can be fickle and mean.
I see some QA/MT folks do become recruiters from
thread below. Does anyone know how to break into this? I believe I would be very good at this and I don't believe I have ever seen any ads for recruiters.
If I have never seen any ads, how do some of the recruiters who have been/are MTs/QA manage to find the positions that they do in order to allow them to change companies when some of us have never seen an ad to allow us to even enter that end of the field?
I would love to know because I think it would be very interesting.
Would you recommend just to start emailing all companies or calling them, or do you think it would be a waste of time?
Dear Recruiters: I would like to sm
know why you don't state in your job ad what kind of internet connection is needed. Mainly, I would like to know if satellite is acceptable so I know whether or not to even pursue it. Some do say so, but many do not. I really just wonder why. It wastes the time of the recruiter with useless email questions and the MT's time trying to find out.
Recruiters: Thank you for sharing sm
I am really embarrassed for those people, but I am also having a good laugh. I bet you all really need to vent. Do you have a network of recruiters where you can go? I am glad to have a glimpse of your world. Now I know why some of those ads are in caps - YOU MUST KNOW HOW TO DO THIS OR DO NOT APPLY! Honestly, they sound hostile, and I skip by them, but at least now I know why.
aren't we ALL recruiters for the
company we work for. Obviously we like where we work since we are employed there....and don't we all then recruit others who are in the job market....
I think most recruiters are full of HOT AIR, and -
during the recruiting/testing/hiring process, they promise a heckuva lot more than the company ever actually delivers. There are already too many 'suits' lurking on this board, as it is.
More Ditsy recruiters
A few weeks ago a recruiter from a company whose initials are SGS called me. She was not ditzy, just had no knowledge of business etiquette at all. I thought to myself that if it was this much of a pain to deal with them in a telephone conversation, what would it be like to work for them? I think a lot of these companies do not realize that the people they put on the phone are often the only chance they will get to make a good impression. This woman needed to go to charm school.
Actually, all the MTSO recruiters have been sm
at multiple companies over their careers, I don't think she is the only one. I remember there was a Gary at Medscribe in Jacksonville who ended up at 3 other services over the years.
I'm not generalizing, but some of the MTSOs and recruiters
I've dealt with this past week are the most condescending, rude, obnoxious people I've ever "met"!!!! Most of them aren't, mind you, but I've had a run of bad apples recently. Most of them are very nice, personable, honest people. But lately, it's enough to make me want to get out of the business again. Just because a person is offering a job does not give them the right to be jerks. However, it's a good thing it came out now instead of later before I wasted my time or energy any further with them. Some of these people have such egos. They treat potential employees as peons or nuisances, so you can imagine what they treat their employees like. No wonder they're hiring again. And again. And again. I believe in treating my fellow humans with respect and dignity. There's no need to be rude or short-tempered, especially when YOU are the one that made the mistake. If it's stressing you out that much, get out of the business! Some people are just not management material. Please, proofread your ad to be sure you didn't misspell anything or accidentally cut off all the important details when you copied and pasted. Your professionalism, or lack of it, is glaringly apparent. Also, put down a wage range. After seeing my resume, do you honestly think I'd work for $.06-.07 per line? Remember, the person you tick off today with YOUR bad attitude may have been the friend from another board yesterday or a possible account referral tomorrow. I used to think highly of you. Now the truth comes out.
