I feel like I have FINALLY found my home. :-)
Here's what I've been doing: for example, today...(sm)
I had a patient with 2 cysts, in the OR for fine needle aspiration. The dictator very clearly said, "the 2 needles were aspirated." So, I put what he said, and made a note in QA, but did NOT leave a marker in the report. That way, it goes right to the client WITH the note, but doesn't stop at QA. That covers my butt, and helps the client.

so maybe it is all for the best. What we want isn't always what's best for us.
I've been out of work 2 times today
7 a.m for 1-1/2 hours, and now. I don't count the 1 or 2 reports that slip in. I've worked exactly 3-3/4 hours today in my 8 hour shift.
I've been convinced. Resume going out today.
At the very least, they'll know I'm interested, and since there would be so little training involved, I would be able to take off running. I used to do 100-150 minutes per day and their requirement was only for 90, so, I doubt I'd have much of a problem. The downside to that is that there are no incentives above the 90 minutes. It's straight hourly pay.
The best part of it is that it is an at-home job after the training. DH says if I have to start 2nd shift, do it. I don't know if I could. I hated 3-11 shift when I first started there because I couldn't keep my eyes open after the witching hour of 8 p.m., plus I would still have to get up at 3:30 a.m. because DH leaves for work at 4:30 a.m. (when he has work) and doesn't get home until 5:30-6:30 p.m. My window of time with him is really only 2 hours a day.

I got mine back in maybe 2 days. They've been
running an ad so may be swamped. I didn't take the position because I found out they offshore and what the recruiter told me and the team leader told me were 2 totally different things about the account they wanted me to work on.

there are those of us here who understand what is happening in this forcing of being creditialed. You obviously don't have a clue, but that is generally the case with the me attitude so prevalent in today's world, an attitude you have displayed magnificently, BTW. I got my CMT because I WANTED to, not because I was FORCED to. Will being forced to be credentialed make you a better MT? NO. No more than being called an MD makes you a good or even excellent doctor. And boy, do we know some really stupid, careless, arrogant, physicians who ought to be in prison today instead of practicing medicine? Doesn't really make any difference that they have MD as a title, does it?

i am a religious person and would be skeptical of a company that invoked His name in this business.
I would suggest just checking into other
companies to see if you can find a fit for you. I personally have gone back to IC work because I'm tired of the hassles you have to deal with as an employee. Good luck to you, hope it all works out in the end.

Agree with you Gourdpainter, checking credentials explains many things. The roller coaster started the down slide several years back and will pretty soon be at the point of no return, if not there already. One could sing the song The Way We Were.

but their offer was so low-ball I declined, after taking their rather rigorous and pain-in-the-neck test. Then I remembered this board and started reading... and thought phew, I dodged THAT bullet!

personally attempt it. Maybe you will get some good feedback from people who actually work there, but there was enough information here for me to realize it may not be the place for me personally... There are so many things we MT's need to look for when checking out jobs opportunities ...
We can ask and ask questions, but hard to cover all the bases. There is so much to weigh when looking into these companies anymore. Transtech offers us 11 PTO days, but no sick time, vacation time, NOR paid holidays. Only paid for the holiday if you work it !
I guess the office employees didn't get paid for the holiday, even though they were at home and the office doors closed !

If you're paid by the line, and not for checking - sm
demographics, then the more time you spend checking demographics, the more you are working for free. A little bit of it is one thing, a lot of it is quite another.
I bet you 1 million $$ you won't find one on mine. Mine is
2 years old and it does not have a 9-pin serial port, nor does it have a game port. I have used both ports on other computers so I know what both ports look like. I also have a company provided computer and it does have the ports on it.
Personal computers and have no idea WHAT they are checking for, but they will not get a chance!nm
