I'm very sorry for you - sm

If you can't get in the zone, the MT field may not be right for you. So many people choose to go into this field believing they can have it all - work from home and watch the kids, etc., plus make good money. That is most definitely not the case. I taught MTs and 90% of them were NOT cut out for this field. It is hard work. I never worked more than 8 hours a day and haven't even done that in years. I got to a place where I make good money and I don't need to physically bust my hump anymore. It takes its toll on your hands and wrists, mine anyway, but I absolutely LOVE this field. I have broken into another field in the past few years but MT is still my bread and butter.
I'm really sorry if you can't take the time to learn how to get in the zone or find another field that interests you. I hope you weren't one to fall for the work from home, makes lots of money ads. I chose this field many moons ago and learned through a 2-year labor intensive college degree. Seems like nowadays, MTs think they can go at it after a rinky-dink at-home course.
My best advice to anyone (and I taught my MTs this way) work in-house for AT LEAST one year. The experience is invaluable and will teach you the tools to be successful at home. Some people find they cannot work at home because the distractions are just too much. Find what is best for you. Don't be negative to those of us who love the field. We are not bragging - I never flaunt what I make (mostly because of posts like these). No one believes it and everyone fights about it.
I hope you find your heart's desire, even if it isn't MT.
