Straight typing
You could try MDI-FL, they have alot of straight typing. I think they are hiring now too. I personally love VR, I seem to make alot more money with it and cannot seem find enough companies who offer it.

Straight typing
Does anyone know of a company that does straight typing, not just medical transcription? Thanking you all in advance for help.
no VR, straight typing
All straight typing.

straight typing
I will be doing straight typing but I know Chartscript. I won't do VR. Been there and done that, won't do it again.
very little straight typing
Their proprietary platform may have more typing jobs than VR, but still lots of VR.
Unfortunately, it was straight typing. :( nm

Thanks.
Do you do straight typing or VR? nm

Straight typing too
I do straight typing too. Had tried VR before I was hired once before and hated it. Said I only wanted straight typing and I've been fortunate to be able to do that.
Those doing VR and straight typing-
How often do you get to do straight typing, and does that mean anything you type while you are in the VR document. Don't know as this will be my first time venturing into VR after 30+ years straight typing.
I do straight typing...
... and at the risk of starting another flame-war, I will state that I work for Transcend. Yes, Transcend, that eeeeevil company that everybody seems to love to hate these days.
Okay, flame-throwers, start your engines!
I only do straight typing. nm

Whether VR or straight typing sm
I have noticed that the really big producers are the ones that also produce/leave the most mistakes on the reports, so when somebody says they do 1500 lines a day straight typing or 3000 lines a day with VR it leaves me thinking with a lot of mistakes too! Sorry to anger the moneymakers, but it is just what I have seen on reports done by those who don't have time to care or type every word dictated if they want to make the real money.
Are you on straight typing or VR/typing?
x
I don't really have a platform. Straight typing in
either Word or WP5.1, a macro provides all the demographics and only have to type in patient name. My company isn't hiring currently.
VR versus straight typing
Does anyone know if VR equals the same or more than straight typing lph? I work for a co where I get paid .10cpl and just started with a co doing VR. I seem to be doing very slow on VR and want to know if it is worth sticking it out. I can type anywhere from 250 to 300 lph.
You have to negotiate your straight typing pay.
The most I've seen (and get myself) for the editing is 4 cpl. I get between 8.4-10 cpl for straight typing with several different companies.
4 cpl editing/8.4-10 straight typing.
I work for DeVenture and Lee Perfect.
Why not go back to straight typing?
Is the title QA you desire?
It's editing AND straight typing. nm
c
believe it is 8 cpl for straight typing and 4 cpl for editing, at least that is what their ad says.
$1.25 a page for straight typing of
a conference/interview type of situation, is that low, high, or average? Thanks.
6 cpl for employees for straight typing
HTH
I bet it's not. No one offers that for VR. If you think 5-7 cpl for straight typing is bad...try
being offered 1.5-3 cpl for VR..That's the going rate. There have been too many companies lately dropping their rates and offering 5-7 cpl. Apparently, they forget they are soliciting American MT, and I agree with the other poster...the cost of living i.e. gas, groceries etc..are skyrocketing yet these disgusting companies want to drop the line count. So, if this is for VR, grab it because you'll never see that rate in this industry.
Is work at MDI SR or straight typing?

Transtech also has straight typing

Companies with Straight Typing
Does anyone know of any companies that only do straight typing, no VR? I just started doing VR and I can't believe the cut in pay!
The difference between straight typing and
doing VR is that when you download a document from your queue, you get an empty screen and then you listen and type, whereas with VR you download the already typed draft of a document and you read it and at the same time you listen to the audio and you correct (edit) all the mistakes you can find.
If the VR software ist bad or the dictator is bad, then there are so many mistakes to correct that it is better to just delete the whole draft and type it anew.
But if you do that you still get only paid the VR rate, 30-50% of straight typing cpl.
On the other hand, if the VR system is good and the dictator is good, then the editing is a breeze......
but this happens rarely.
Is this for editing VR or straight typing? Thanks again. nm
.
100% straight typing. I've never done anything else. Ever.

to SUZQM re straight typing
I am doing straight typing now, but DO work for a company that uses VR, which is why I said so far. The ones that do straight typing, no VR, seem to be soon bought up by the bigger outfits or closing their doors, or .... Beginning to feel that I cannot avoid VR much longer (tried it before and hated it). Good luck to you.
Deventure has some straight typing platforms.
I think the line count quota for straight typing is 5500 per week.
I have 2 parttime jobs, 1 VR, 1 straight typing....
in comparing the 2 side by side, I make 30-40 more dollars a day with straight typing, reason being, if you have to make a lot of changes with VR and it seems I do, then you lose time and money even if you get good VR on other doctors. This is a comparison side by side, it is not worth half the pay, it is just not right. I struggle a lot of days getting 1500 lines on VR if I have to make a lot of dumb changes, like adding words VR left out, adding words or taking out words, that is just not cost productive. That is my opinion. Remember I am doing this with one company on one computer and one on another.
Transtech has straight typing but do push for VR

Any companies left with straight typing...no VR?
Any recommendations for a good company who does not use VR?
I will only do VR for the same line rate I get for straight typing. Anything less, they can keep th

I work at KS and I don't even make that straight typing. :( nm
9 cents for straight typing is my bottom.
That doesn't mean I am going to GET it. I have had to turn down jobs because of the poor pay. I think the best days of this profession have passed.
Just another profession compromised by *technology*.
Supposedly, editing would be faster than straight typing
and the VR would be ONLY for those doing editing. Not everyone will be doing editing (at Transcend).
Looking thru the job ads show 3-5 cpl for VR and a low-normal rate for straight typing. nm
s
I didn't realize that had any straight typing accounts.
I've been there about 5 years and I only get about 5% straight typing, 10% max. What platform are you on? I work Escription and it is all basically VR. I truly hope what they promised you actually exists.
can you make decent money straight typing for .08 cpl?
with Expanders for low ESL docs?
I make 11 cpl with straight typing with MDI, and I doubt Transcend will keep our pay as it is. I am
nm
Depends on what your line rate is for straight typing.
Plus, if you're a high producer you probably won't be able to double your line count on VR. If you average about 100 to 125 lines per hour, you should have no trouble doubling that or more. It might be worth it then. If you're not getting at least half your line rate for straight typing, it definitely isn't worth it.
Love VR and hate to do straight typing anymore
My work is a combination of both VR and straight, VR about 85% of daily work. I never retype any sentence much less a paragraph when it is VR. I think a person only has to do that with a particular bad platform. Escription is excellent VR.
