1. I don't think I've ever heard them say a word about MTs working both weekend days. I specifically asked upon hire if they were one of those that force you to give up either a Saturday or Sunday for the rest of your MT career with them. (That just burns me, but that's another issue;)LOL.
2. They have a lot of ICs working for them. The beauty of being an IC is choosing your schedule.
First, though like the other poster said, sell yourself first. Let them think you are a prize (and I'm sure you are!) that they will not want to let go!
I was told they usually have enough volunteers for weekends and holidays so I probably wouldn't have to commit to too many if I didn't want to.
However, I've been in this biz long enough to know that acute care especially is 24/7 and that weekend coverage is necessary. I really don't mind working weekends at all. I just can't stand seeing those adds where one must choose between their kids' soccer games (Tues - Sat) or the Almight God (Sun-Thurs). To me that's just insane! No one else in the medical field has to succumb to that horrific monster of a schedule! Even nurses and doctors rotate for goodness sake!
I hope this helps! Good luck!
