I'm going to agree with the other posters. Platform is horrible and not productive.

In Reply to: They constantly run out of work and - JRMT
I worked for hours and made $9...no thank you. I would do at least a whole page and be lucky to get 30 lines. I think it's a ripoff. Either the platform line counting is just off or more likely it is the way they set it up, but you'd have to be totally naive and never had worked anywhere else to know that the line counts are set up to rip you off. As with most of these companies, they all are constantly advertising like they have a ton of work when there is none. I suspect they turnover is high so they just keep the ads running, but the reason for the turnover other than making no money on line counts is lack of work. They just don't get it. I didn't last there long, as best I can neither, most don't.

Their platform is not productive at all.
It is a struggle to make lines on Apex. The company's good, nice people, but making money is difficult compared to other companies' platforms.
MTs at WMX....is ChartMatrix productive platform?
Any information would be great! Is pay okay???
Horrible platform. Horrible communication.
Horrible people who say one thing and then when you do what they say, they get mad and act ugly.
Enough of a bone?
What kind of platform does TransHealth use, and is it really productive? SM
I am seriously thinking of making a change but I need a good, slick program to work on. If there's anything I hate, it's a bulky platform LOL. Also do they have good benefits all the way around, and are you treated with respect? I guess mainly I'm worried about whether I can make close to $1000 per week, given time to get used to my accounts. I have 27 years of experience and am fairly fast. Thanks for any info you care to share!!
Do you feel their platform is productive? That would be important to me. nm
x
Ortho MTs? Can I ask which platform you work on and is it productive??
Thanks..
Just wondering if the platform is productive and if the money made is decent.
I have worked on too many platforms where you really struggled to get a good line count and make decent money. I'm just curious how easy it is to get lines on their platform.
I agree. It seems as though many posters
complain about no work but I have to wonder how hard they work when their account is out of TAT. I have my two boys home with me daily. They are napping right now and in between breakfast, lunch, breaking up an occasional fight and all the hugs and kisses I can stand, I have still managed to type 2200 lines already today.
I agree with other posters that there is something
disingenuous (sp?) or creepy almost about the RAVE reviews over and over for this company. The language of the posts is suspect as well - how many MTs call each other MLS? So many of the posts just sound like canned recruiting posts - sorry. That's my take as well. And one thing I know 4 sure in this industry - when MTs do find that miracle company, they don't go blabbing it all over so that thousands of other MTs can apply. That's one thing that is a given. And all this hiring? Something is odd about that as well. So its not just 1 or 2 skeptics - I have a feeling there are a lot of us!
I agree 100% with the posters below!
Not to say all nationals are this way, but the one I work for now is terrible about communication, basically ignores e-mails, and generally leaves you with no way to reach them. I truly do feel like a mindless drone some days. You might find the change tough after being in-house for so long. Just my opinion here. Good luck to you! :-)
I also agree with the other 2 posters...
Been with OSi for several years. I never run out of work and pay has always been on time.
I agree with the other posters...
hang in there and keep testing...Good luck!!!!
I would agree but most of these posters...
Do not yet even have experience with VR, much less VR with the accounts at TT.
They are so busy playing chicken little and threatening a 'mass exodus' (love that one, lol!) that they have already decided they will hate it. And, human nature being such as it is, because they have already made up their minds it's inferior, they will lose pay AND for some inexplicable reason it's a threat to patient care, they will NEVER adapt to it and thus are creating a self-fulfilling prophecy.
My account at TT is basically 85% VR and I love it. I took no cut in pay; my production doubled and therefore my salary is pretty much exactly what it was with straight transcription. I honestly don't see why all of these posters are flying off of the handle and ASSUMING things until they give it a try.
It just goes against logic and defies explanation to prejudge something before even giving it a chance, IMHO.
Horrible accounts - platform sux! nm
x
Their transcription platform is horrible,
training and QA are just as bad. I couldn't get out of there quick enough.
absolutely horrible platform
It was nuts and you spent 1/4th of the time looking up cc's for three counties, 100s and 100s of docs! I Went back to acute care. No thanks!
I agree with above posters thoughts
if you are not sure, don't do it.
I agree with you and comment on other posters - sm
Amen to all that you said. I, too, feel that management should have an overall feel for the account. That is where I would like to see communication. If they have an idea that an account may be going to EMR or whatever, they really should give us a heads up.
And nobody needs to give me any crap about reading my e-mails. Yes, our owner sent that mail about the ebb and flow, but come on get real. It was very general. It was very like: Tell me something I don't already know. Don't tell me to flex my hours or how this business can be that way --- anyone who has been around for a while knows that.
Tell us, specifically what we can expect from our on specific accounts. Tell us specifically if we should look somewhere else for work, anything! If you truly cannot say anything helpful, then maybe you can say something encouraging instead of giving us a bunch of hot air. Like telling us you understand, and that you understand how hard it can be on us, our families. DON'T tell me that I should manage my $ better for times like this, HOW DARE YOU!
Instead we get generalized comments about the nature of the business and if we are good little MTs then we will learn that this is the way of the business and we should be smart enough to flex our schedules (gee, ma, I would've never thought of that). We get HOUNDED about committments that cannot be kept, and YES you do HOUND and yes you DO expect committments to be kept when things are slow, because for some unexplicable reason things don't look slow to management when they sure as heck are on our end.
Whatever. I'm just tired.
I'd say TransTech; Transcend's platform is horrible. nm
x
Vent - how do you deal with a horrible platform!
This platform is so slow that my Expander sometimes doesn't even expand things because the system is so slow. You go to back up or move forward with the cursor and its so slow you end up going to far usually. Spell check, OMG, you could go to sleep waiting to advance. It takes FOREVER to type a document.
I don't understand why companies use these horrible platforms. Makes you dread sitting down to the computer!
Technical issues with the platform were horrible
It was slow a few times, never completely out, but I could never make any lines because of the technical issues with the platform.
Great platform, horrible company
NM
I feel your pain. The platform is horrible. nm

I agree with all of the posters. Even though I feel "superficial" and all of that by asking ab
the money and insurance first, I also figure those things matter to me first and foremost so why not waste each other's time. I have only had one place make me feel selfish for even asking, like, is that all your going to ask about, why arent you asking how great we are to our employees or anything else. Yes, being great to your employees is a plus, but quite honestly, that does not pay my bills or help me with being able to afford medical insurance. My thought is that if you are worried about being wonderful to those employees you need to be offering decent benefits and acceptable line rate. Unfortunately, those are few and far inbetween.
Same experience...awesome to work for, horrible platform..sm
I've been an MT for close to 20 years and am most productive on ER accounts where I can create my own templates and Expanders out the ying yang. After 2 months and the worst line counts of my entire career, I had to move on. I do want to point out that PM does have some of the nicest, most helpful staff I've ever worked for! The platform is the ONLY reason I left.
Transhealth is very organized, great benefits..horrible platform
Maybe it was just me but i never made it through training. It certainly could have been a lot easier than having to open up 3-4 programs to get going. I found it to be time-consuming and in a production-based atmosphere, this did not cut it. On the other hand, maybe others think the program is wonderful, but I sure did not. I have used Dictaphone EXText and that is way easier.
Transtech does have voice recognition. Horrible platform for editing.
Dictaphone Exspeech is the very worst VR platform I have ever worked on. Yes, the MT line rate is much reduced for it, too.
Yeah, I agree with the other posters. Ten pages is overkill. I think even with one page that would
get a feel for your skills and experience. No one can hide inexperience or inability to do the work. There is NO WAY I'd ever do a 10-page report without being paid. They are ridiculous. I'd be curious to see if anyone actually falls for this tactic. I saw that they give their ICs 5 days turnaround time so I'd say if they had several MTs testing, they should easily make their quota for their clients. UNREAL!!!
If you have horrible platform, do not get paid for headers, footers, template data, etc.,
even though it might take 3 or 4 minutes or longer to edit that stuff, you are going to take a big pay cut. This program was designed by idiots.
The platform they use is horrible and slows you down with regards to meeting daily line count. Also,
QA can be bitchy, however, if you know your stuff and nip that bitchiness in the bud early on, they don't bother you later...except for one. She's rude and vague in her f/u comments, so there is really no way around that one except not to take it personal.
Agree...support is horrible
And the staff are all very nice unless you express your unhappiness about something. Then? You are doomed for life and there is no going back. Major integrity issues with the operations person. It's very unfortunate. A lot of nice people work there. But very poor upper management, including the owner.
Horrible, horrible, horrible place. Unlike the other poster
I actually worked there. Sound quality is horrendous. The account I had was the worst ESL I've ever had and I do 85% ESL so I have no problems doing ESL. Frequent management turnover. When I was doing QA the work was so bad that I pretty much had to redo every report. I hear about how well they pay, but they don't pay that well and certainly not enough to compensate for all the other stuff.
Worked there 2 years ago..horrible, horrible, horrible.
Would totally avoid them at all costs.
SoftScript is the worst - horrible accounts, horrible management, don't go there! nm
nm
horrible, horrible contact person! Worst experience ever. SM
Turned it down because of the arrogance and attitude.
That was not long ago. Ads run every 2 - 3 months.
Horrible accounts, horrible sound quality, etc
The only time SoftScript would not be wonderful is if you aren't doing your job. They are an extremely professional company. Sounds like someone may not have lived up to their standards.
Horrible, horrible place. Lots in the archives.
I agree, terrible platform...
more trouble than it's worth.
I agree, best platform I've been on...
Great search capabilities for patient name, prior reports, specific doc reports, etc. Easy to move around in -- just the cream of the crop in my platform experience.
I agree. Extext is the platform I've ever worked with. nm

Horrible company, horrible dictators, ESL
at its absolute worst, sound quality horrible. The MTs I did QA for were horrendous. They made up words, obviously didn't use a spellchecker, couldn't get the hang of something as simple as copying and pasting Preop diagnoses to postop diagnoses and would type same again and again. QA manager would send out updates for new drugs, equipment and have things misspelled, frequently got e-mails that evidently were sent because someone wanted to feel important, absolutely no useful information, management problems, lots and lots of turnover, including management. The CEO has no clue about transcription and is in it for the money. After talking with him you feel like you need a shower.
I agree. I am only part time so far, but I love it. The platform is easy, and sm
the people are great. I feel very fortunate to have stumbled onto them.
I agree platform awful and they deduct for mistakes, to the tune of $10 per report.
:_
I agree that it is an easy platform, but compared to other platforms I have used, lines are harder
to get, probably counted or weighted differently.
I agree. Big factors- ease of dictators, length of reports, platform. NM
.
I know what you are saying. I can tell how productive
my day is going to be after the first few reports. It is so upsetting to wake up and see the same garbage work when you know there are better authors dictating. They can't always be on vacation or whatever excuse you are given when you ask where the good work is.
not productive
Funny you ask? I'm have a feel sorry for me moment, or shall I say several months! I left Spheris after 8 years, where I was minimum 1800/lines day in 8-hour shift, usually at 2000 lines/day without OT. Now, I have been through 6, YES, 6 MTSOs to find their software is the worst ever, downloads slow, or the worst docs breathing on my time and all that is left to trancribe are ESLs cuz the decent docs are VR. I was so excited to start a new MTSO Monday with Chartnet (which I have used and is extremely fast), only to find their version has inexcusable delays, needless hoops to jump through, unnecessary clicking and ADT that should pull auto to have to fill; and I can't make 1000/lines a day. Argh...why are these MTSOs using outdated software or stuff that just plain don't work? Where are the IT guys who know how to set them up correctly? I'm really thinking about a new career altogether, but in this economy what could possibly be next for an MT with 13 years devoted and an Expander to die for!
I'm right there with you, not productive
Before my current position, I was working with acute care, ESLs, etc., but still having no problem reaching the minimum LPH of 150. Then, when I was downsized and moved to this new position, I was started on discharge summaries at one particular hospital. Again, no problem in reaching the minimum, and even exceeding it, on a good day with no OT. However, just recently our team was moved to a new hospital account, put on consults, and I feel like I have a different ESL doc for every report. I have a nearly impossible time reaching 1000 lines per day (if I even make it), and working OT is no longer an option, it is a necessity to have a decent paycheck. What is up with this? I feel like it is just me, and I should be able to do this after 15 years experience, but I am struggling daily and beginning to hate my job. Is looking for another place to work the answer? I just am glad to hear there are others who are struggling too, even though it's not fun for any of us.
Tell me about BayScribe -- is it productive? sm
Can you get a good line count working with this platform? Looks simple to use - is it? Can you check you line count against a Word?
Please tell me all there is to know - Thanks!
Not common, and not productive..
I also worked for a well known company until last November when they were gearing up for their GREAT changes at the beginning of this year. I went from having my main account that I had typed on for five years, and one backup account that I was also very familiar with, to having six accounts and almost no work on my former primary account. I was unable to produce the minimum line count, and they never gave me any time to learn the accounts, training pay for new accounts (yes, they used to do this), etc. After the first pay period I didn't make my minimum line count, I got bumped to statutory status and my benefits were gone. I had to find another job.
Working for another national would be my absolute last resort if anything happened to my current job situation. If people don't know who you are, it's easier for them not to care about you.
A lot of people are more productive on OPS (sm)
and request them (myself included). But I get everything. Wouldn't be fair to others.
