I'm curious if this is the same company who takes like 30-45 days to pay

and it's lower pay. I could have it confused but last year I was going to contract with a company with that name or similar but decided against it when I read the contract about the pay schedule.

Hey, don't feel bad, many times it takes days for the company to ,,,,,sm
look through all the resumes and tests they receive, just believe in yourself, keep positive, keep applying to other good prospects, and it will happen for you. Good Luck!!
I am sure it takes a few days. The CEO does not process sm
the paperwork, the HR department does. If she has been doing hiring, then I am sure she is getting a lot done quickly, which means that HR might be backed up. I have been a lead for a while and realize that once the CEO steps in, everyone jumps as she moves faster than most others and makes sure that it is all completed.
The hiring process usually takes a couple of days,
but depending on the account it can take about 2 weeks to actually be working.
Curious to know where one can get 10 cpl these days!

Takes a lot more than that to be a good company

Need a company that takes out taxes and has insurance
I can't be an independent contractor because my husband is self employed. One of us needs to pay for taxes and insurance. Anybody know of some companies that do this that I could check out?
Correct. My company takes random
reports for so many lines. It is not judged on a report by report basis.
Apparently this company takes people for a

your company takes overflow or has a primary account
I really have no idea if this applies to your current situation, but when I worked at a hospital and a large MTSO took our overflow, some of the girls I worked with had no qualms about leaving (or perhaps assigning, can't really remember now) the horrible doctors to the MTSO. We had a monitor that showed all the jobs waiting in queue, and they would (or could, anyway) go down the list assigning themselves the good ones, thereby leaving the bad ones to the MTSO. I worked radiology and everything was in-house for that, but I would watch the acute care ladies do this.
I know a company that takes work off edit and doesn't pass
p
Curious too about that company
I was contacted by them yesterday. I would love to hear from MTs who work there now. I heard there is a deposit that has to be paid? Is that true?
What company is this, just curious NM
NM
Just curious. Does your new company start with a P? nm
nm
What does one consider a smaller company, 100 MTs, 150 or a lot less? Just curious so I know where
to look.
I'm not trying to bash the company or anything, but I am curious as to what sm
others do when faced with no work. Do you ask management for more accounts? Do you just ride it out and hope that indeed new accounts sign on and you can make a living before the wolf gets too close to the door? Do you go and look for another job (or 2) to supplement your income and then work like crazy when things pick up? In a perfect world, I suppose I would have a nice little nest egg built up and could just enjoy the lull times, but unfortunately that is not the case, and I was just curious as to how others handle it. I do not have a husband to fall back on as a secondary source of income/support, so it can get kind of scary at times. My instinct tells me to just work another job or two. I may not have a life, but at least I will not be on the street.
Thanks for your input.
I sent a resume too and was curious what the company was - NM

I'm curious about this company as well? I haven't really heard much about it.
Well, keep us posted. I'm curious how this company pans out.

That is what I just said. !0 days PTO, period. That includes vacation, sick days and personal days
They should have paid holidays so that you are paid if you take off. Also should inculde extra hours for sick days and personal days.
That annual raise of .002 is kind of a joke especially when at the same time they upped the minimum line requirement from 10,000 lines to 12,000 lines.
OSi just does not have the qualified people in management positions that I wish to work for.
I am glad that you are happy at OSi and all is working out for you. Their dishonesty and the way they treat people just does not work for me.
Of course they can get by cheaply by hiring unqualified people so that is very good for the owners.
Has anyone heard of a small company called SRB in Florida. Curious.
:
I don't know of any company that gives more than 5 days
PTO the first year. Most have a percentage they use to calculate, not sure what that is.
If you are more concerned with having days off than you are of having them off with pay then the IC route would probably be the way to go. There may be companies that offer more than 5 days PTO the first year, but you'll be hard pressed to find one.
Just like any other company these days
x
You were there 3 whole days and you think you know the company? Wow, sm
talk about a snap judgment. Sounds like you are thin-skinned.
The company takes the money out of your salary, before they cut the check. It is your earned money,

My company gives a bonus after 90 days.
A company would be stupid to give a bonus upfront because they would have people work the minimum amount of time necessary to get the bonus. I've been other posts where the company will give the bonus spread out over a year.
Busiest Days of the Week for Your Company?
I always thoughts Sunday nights were busy, getting preops ready, etc., Monday's are pretty busy and Friday is always busy, but the days in between seem to be really slow this year. Is anyone finding certain days of the week to be busier than others?
Is there any company that doesn't have high ESL now days? nm

Looking for a company who hires Monday-Friday days
Does anyone know of a company who hires full time transcriptionists for Monday-Friday? I have years and years experience and am tired of working the weekends! Your help will be greatly appreciated!
you must have mistaken this for another company; benefits start in 30 days
This person obviously has no clue
Still not great PTO for first year. I get 12 days at current company. NM

See, my company has these things called days off! Cool, huh?!?!

8+ years for me (Rodeer days pre-Wbmx merger) and best COMPANY EVER. NM
.
My experience exact opposite- Me willing work 6 days, regular sched, 100% QA last review- Company: N
Me: Ready, willing and able to work 6 days a week, regular schedule, 100% QA my last review, on all ESL's doctors.
Companies: No work. All ESL work. All the worst dictators. No work, did I mention that. Don't want to buy new software or any software to help the MT. Ridiculous formatting rules to decrease my line count. Low line count rate. No holiday pay. Have to work holidays.
Your post was way, way out of line. Maybe you work for a great company, SO tell us who it is.
I've tried 10 companies in 10 years, and they were all the same. Pick my brain and make me work hard, hard, hard for ? 150 lines an hour with ALL ESL, poor sound quality, and then don't really want to pay for the 150 lines, want to jiggle and wiggle it down to 120 or less with rules.
You bill 30 days behind, and they snail mail it so it's late - about 40 days from invoice
No way jose - they even messed up their direct deposit payments
Maybe she/he works 14 hour days/7 days a week? nm
x
Would that be 5 business days or 5 regular days?
So when are we going to be paid this time around since you're so knowledgable?
Sorry, but for some of us a day or 2 actually makes a difference.
Most want 20 hours over 5 days, but it could be more, or it could be spread over 4 days. nm
s
Correction - TH has 5 PTO days 1st year/10 days 2nd yr

Axolotl within 30 days. Transolutions in 60 days. NM

It is true. Any job has its good days and bad days.
Perhaps you'd like to just keep your old job and try this one out. Just because a poster here is crabbing about it, or even if as in the past there have been negative posts, odds are that there are very happy people who don't even post or know that this board exists. As Alice says. Everything is relative. The fact that this company is hiring and pays may be a place which is a blessing. As opposed to digging ditches on day labor for example. Or somebody might prefer digging ditches. This is just an example. Sometimes we who are employable, even though we don't make as much as we used to in this business, or as much as we would like to, we still if working at home do not pay for gas to go to work, career clothes, deal with office politics, have to look at a boss who writes us up if we are a minute late, etcetera. I don't make half as much as I used to, but I don't send my 3 children to day care which by the way saves us money. SO I remind my husband I am worth that in addition to my salary if I had a job outside. No job is perfect. I am not even sure if Focus is any good or not, I have not worked there. But if one poster says there are good days and bad, I say that is the most honest answer you are going to get anywhere, and if you need a job badly, how is it to hurt trying it out, until you know for sure for yourself? THanks for listening. But sometimes this board gets to be a bit much with the agendas of people railing on other people like the OP here who just wanted all opinions instead of just one side. Balance is always great. And, if things seem lop-sided, then it is a good thing to seek out both sides. IMHO.
I think they would. Those are good days for 10-hour days. sm
I have a set schedule but it is Tues-Sat and it works well for me. It wouldn't hurt to ask!
90 days is correct. 3 days off 1st year, 10 during 2nd.
nm
It takes a while (nm)
nm
Only takes a second
Only takes a quick second to post a message if you have your MTStars alert set up to Radiology, Keystrokes or whatever company interested in, etc. It is not that time consuming. Gets interesting on occasion.
I think there's about it takes about 2 weeks...
There's a processing time of about 2 weeks I believe, paperwork has to be sent to certain people and equipment has to be ordered and sent out to you. I'm not aware of it being based according to pay period. Just a side note, be sure you have DSL and if you don't, you'll need to order it right away to enable you to start on time.
Does anyone know how long it takes to get (sm)
equipment deposit of $300 back from Spheris once you return their equipment? I don't know who to contact. All I get is a voice mail without a return call. Thank you.
Anyone know how long it takes to
get test results back from Precyse Solutions. Are they as good as their website claims?
I like it - takes some getting used to - new drugs, etc.
nm
It's not too bad but it takes some getting used to. My lines were down for about the first
month and then have surpassed what I was doing before. The accuracy is actually pretty good. I would say probably 80% or so. There is some editing of words and stuff but most of what I have found is punctuation and the like.
It takes time but can be done
First find where your templates are kept by clicking on Tools, Options, File Location where it will show you where your templates are stored.
Open your template. Click on Format, Style and then Modify then Format then font. After you modify the font size to what you want, click OK. Now you are back to Modify Style and check apply to template.
And I'm sure that's clear as mud! Good luck!
too much going in and out.....takes up too much time.
