I saw somewhere where somebody said they got paid every Friday. Somebody else said about once a month. I don't know. Their website looks promising. I'm in the process of getting the test ready to send now. I'm not sure if I'll even finish it.

I have just taken a test that must be designed to get into medical school with all of the choose the correct, fill in the blank and give the definition, was sooo..long.... and so intense, and why do we have to take 5 voice tests, don't they understand if you can do one or two, you must know what you are doing? Just tired I guess trying to find a good fit after doing this for 20 years.

I'm in the middle of taking the test myself
and I am so relieved to hear that I'm not the only one experiencing significant trouble! I have 10 years' experience, but that is useless when dealing with this quality (or lack thereof) of dictation!

It was the actual doctor that would be the client, and the names of the clients were on the test......!!!! Can you say HIPAA ????? I immediately stopped the test and did not even respond to the recuriter. Definately not right no matter what it is...
I think taking the test now will speed up the process.
It has a place for you to submit resume, so they have resume and test together. If you haven't heard anything in a couple of days call.
Medware's test hold people back from applying.

Is Etransplus worth taking a test which last 1 1/2hrs
Hello, I am currently working with a company but need to change due to lack of benefits. Etrans has sent me a couple of emails about joining them, but I wanted to know if anyone works there, is it worth it to take that test for 1 1/2 hours, when I could be transcribing. Also, what type of accounts do they have and do they have anything that is entirely online and does not need a phone line to dial into a system, would love to drop my $40.00 a month bill for unlimited long distance.

I bothered taking the test weeks ago and never heard. You would think...
they could at least say either way, hey, you did not pass the test etc... but I never even got that. I even took someone's advise and followed up by emailing HR and asking them if they could let me know either way but I took the time to do the testing as well as I had been also testing with others and needed to know whether to keep waiting on them or move on. Obviously, I moved on. I find it totally unprofessional to ask someone to take time enough to test and then they cannot even have the common courtesy to tell you that you stink or whatever. I could handle the truth, but to never heard anything, UNPROFESSIONAL. I do wish you great luck and maybe they just only contact those who pass and let the rest of us figure it out on our own.

Anyone else have problems taking USA Type test? Cant get my comp to play the sound file.
Any suggestions? I really want to take the test but their sound file keeps loading onto my music program, and when I try to load it on Windows Medial Player it tells me I need codecs, so how would I find that to load?

I just took the FN test, and e mail said I would hear
in a couple of days. Usually when I take these tests, the software lets me know how I did right away usually with a congratulations, you passed! The fact that it did not say that, is that standard for this company, or did I flunk the test? I just usually know right away how I did on these tests and am unsure of this company's hiring process. Thanks for any info. :)

How many have filled applications out with what you make and test and never hear
 anything back. I wonder if you make a decent 10 cpl or something that is the end of hearing back from them thinking you want that much or more when you fill out the application.
TransTech test
I've tested for Transtech this weekend and feel I did pretty good on the first part of the test, medical knowledge, spelling, etc. On the actual transcription I did well on the first two, but not so well on the last two, especially the Ops report. How long will it take on average to hear from them, and are they strict about only hiring people who get 100% of the transcription? TIA!

I took their test, and it really was not difficult at all. As I recall, one part tests your abilities with vocabulary, et cetera, and then there were a few dictations to type. It was not bad at all. I have seen much worse.
How long before you hear from TransTech?

I took a test for a company and my foot pedal would work with the test and I had keep going back
over the dictation time and again to get all the words because I couldnt stop and start it by the foot pedal. What can I do about this.
Just took the test myself. No actual dictation to transcribe. Just a written test.
For 13 cpl, I might do it if the dictators aren't a total horror.
I just took the test today - thought it was a great test of MT skills.

There is no written test. Must have been a different company. I took their ortho test sm
and it was easy. You had to know your terminology but it was easy to understand AND I used my foot pedal.
I said MAY NOT hear, didn't say you wouldn't hear. There is
a difference, and many people have said they knew they didn't do well on the tests, but still feel like they should have heard from companies and haven't.

Have you tried applying for
unemployment compensation while looking for a job? It might help to alleviate some of the pressure if you have bills to pay and might prevent you from accepting the wrong job out of desperation.

to MD-IT? All I know is I also am looking for info on this company, as they my clinic has outsourced all of our in-house transcription to them. I have an opportunity to work for them, transcribing the same physicians/therapists that I do now. However, they seem to not be too forthcoming with information. I am a little leary to sign on with them, having been in-house for 14 years. It is a little scary to me. I do not want to sign on and then miss the opportunity for unemployment/COBRA for a while and just take a break and move on. I don't know what to do here. Many sleepless nights I'll tell ya that much.

Why do companies even allow this? It only allows the lazy MTs to make more money, leaving the MTs that will actually do all types of work by all kinds of dictators to struggle to make their line counts. This is why I am currently looking for a new job. I am tired of the cherrypickers on my account who refuse to work the ESL docs. You know what? I don't like them any more than you do, but I still do it. Why? Because it is my job!

I think you might have better luck sending resumes to companies who are NOT posting ads on the Job Seekers board. Looking at the number of hits their ads are getting those companies are probably already getting flooded with resumes.

I believe that transcription companies and owners do not want to pay for real transcription quality and are willing to hire the ones that will accept the 0.3 cents for QA and the 0.7 and up to 0.825 per cpl. Where is the real appreciation for the excellent transcriptionists? It seems that Transcriptionist is viewed more as a money maker.

Sylvan that's never been used, couldn't get it to load onto the computer, and couldn't get a refund for. I wouldn't want to use them again. I noticed using that software is one of the requirements.
