How does a chat board assist an MTSO with nonpayment issues?

Just asking, not finding the correlation between the two, and clarification would be appreciated for now and the future.

MTSO won't pay or give me reason for nonpayment
I am going to small claims court tomorrow to file a suit against MTSO that hasn't paid me in four months. No idea why they haven't paid. Won't return phone calls or emails. Only worked there a week, and I think she somehow thinks she is justified in not paying me.
Feel bad for anyone that doesn't get paid. There is no excuse to not pay people for work they have done.
Info on Assist Med?
Anyone know if their line counts are easy to meet, what the platform is like, what is the ESL load, etc.? Thanks for any info you can provide!
I just find it amusing when MTs claim to assist others
If it doesn't bother you, don't worry about it.
How do you report an MTSO to the Labor Board - sm
I work for an MTSO that lies about when paychecks are sent out. We are paid twice a month, on the 15 and the 30 or 31. When the owner of the company was on vacation, I got my paycheck on time. Ever since this individual came back, it's the same old s##T all over again. I have heard that this person holds checks until the last minute and it takes around 10 days to get paycheck in hand. This person blames it on the post office being the worst in the world. Well, how come during the most busiest time of the year, I got paid on time, when the post offices notoriously are supposed to be slower? I called the post office over there and was told that I should report this company to the labor board, only how do I do it and retain anonymity? Any ideas? I don't want to lose this job YET! I have something else in the works, but not just yet. I realize this will probably be hard to prove, too.
Perhaps you know of someone yourself or had this experience yourself that you might be able to share and give some advice.
I agree - every major MTSO on this board seems to have the same sm
issues ongoing. I've seen multiple company names mentioned (just scroll down) all summer long, so it isn't a situation isolated solely to Webmedx.
I believe it IS the economy, as well as increased volumes going offshore (not at Wmx but the other MTSOs) affecting volumes nationally. There are no companies offering giant hire-on bonuses any more either.
I am also grateful for my job, even if it means flexing around more.
You, MTSO, should just stop coming to OUR board if you're (NM)

As a MTSO, why would he/she feel the need to come to a public board and complain? Unprofessional in

Paleeze.....now an MTSO board is needed. Buisness is businss. Gas station,
How many other types of companies get away with paying when they want, not providing enough work or asking that we give more and more, deciding what accounts and random changes?
I am on my 4th company just trying to find one who will come through on pay, provide somewhere close to the amount of work agreed upon, support for questions, discussion of accounts, etc. Can't even get a 'good morning'. Geesh. If MTSOs ran it like it was a business there would be a lot less conflict.
Yep, just 1 more opinion.
I never knew that a message board had the strength to negotiate with an MTSO. How cool is that? Who

you obviously don't chat much
sd is said. Standard shorthand on chatboards. Why would something so miniscule and insignificant bother you? like I s-a-i-d, you have some real issues that need working on. I am not the one capping and underlining and bolding it, the stupid site is.
nonpayment
Yes, I contacted the company. I spoke to a person in payroll, who refuses to release my check because she states she doesn't have a record of my returning their footpedal. I told her I had a tracking number that showed they had received it Aug 30th. She didn't want anything to do with the tracking number and had me leave a message on someone else's voice mail. I have heard of other people having difficulties with this company and it looks like I am going to have to fight for release of my check. Hence, my question.
nonpayment help.....sm
What was their excuse for not paying on time? If you still haven't received 2 checks, I believe I would rethink doing any more work for them until I got paid. Are you IC or employee, since you said employer won't pay. I would let them know no more work will be done until payment is received within X number of days, and then I would call the local Better Business Bureau in that city and report this.
This has happened to me only once, but the owner of the company was very straight forward about her clients not paying on time, how much she owed the IC's, how much she had on hand to pay, etc. She pitched a fit to the clients, they paid up, and we got paid.
If push comes to shove, depending on where you live, I would then go to small claims court to get paid. File a claim in their locale. Good Luck!
Chat, anyone?!

Would like to chat with anyone

nonpayment
I just quit an MTSO who is playing that game. Heard excuses three different times during the six months that I was an IC there and the third time, I said enough already. Always blaming someone else, getting P***y when asked when pay would come and the threat about ICs can get paid once every 30 days..I didn't write the contract MTSO did with biweekly pay. At the end, I actually stopped doing any work until I actually had the money, which ended up being just a few days before the next scheduled payday and the lies started again..last I heard said MTSO still hasn't paid up and still has tons of excuses why someone else is to blame. Glad that I left when I did!!!
I actually contemplated contacting other ICs that worked for the company to point out the discrepancies and then decided that everyone has to make their own decisions and I hope for their sakes that they come to realize soon that she is full of it....account is probably not paying on time because TAT is never met. In six months, there was only maybe one week where I didn't get emails screaming for people to work more because we were behind...I figure it won't be long before the account drops this MTSO altogether and I just hope all those ICs have other means of support or are able to find something else, in this economy that might take a while!!!
Nonpayment help needed
Invoiced and billed employer who has not sent me a check. I did email and a check was to be sent to me by this past Friday, but is now not responding to email inquiries as to the status and whether or not the checks were mailed (they now owe me 2).
Which regulatory agencies or legal groups do I contact in this regard in order to be paid?
chat room
Does anyone ever use the chat room?
I sure don't need another nonpayment company.
Is there anyone that currently works there that can comment on the payment issue?
what action can I take for nonpayment?
I am having the same issue with 2 different companies. IF you are an employee, you can call the labor board and they can assist you. IF NOT...if you are an independent contractor it is a lot more difficult. The labor board will not assist an IC. Then your only option is to hire a lawyer in NJ and file suit against the company there. If the company owes less than the limit for small claims court, you can file in small claims court but you have to physically go there to appear in court...if you win, all you get is a judgment, i.e. a piece of paper. The court will not make the company pay the judgment, it is up to you to collect that. If it is over the limit for small claims, you have to have a lawyer file suit in district court. Of course...even if you win, the lawyer has to be paid so make sure you are owed enough for it to make it worthwhile to go that route. Now, if the company gives you a check that bounces, that's a whole other issue. Then you have to send a certified letter giving them (usually...varies by state) 10 days to pay the check and any bank fees you have accumulated becuase the check bounced. If they do not, then your only course of action is to send the check and a complaint to the district attorney where the company is and ask them to collect. The district attorney will send the compnay a letter and if they don't pay the check, then they will file suit against the company and will in fact arrest the owner. All of this takes ages of course and that is probably not going to help the immediate issue which is you need the money you earned! yeah...I understand completely. Good luck.

I don't remember how to do it anymore, but know there is a way we could set up our own group chat for the account on yahoo or here. Anyone interested? E-mail and I will see if I can set it up.

Back around the turn of the century, my school offered had Spanish and Latin. I did four years of Latin. Besides, I think French makes you sound like you have a permanent sinus condition.
There is a restaurant near my home, run by a French family, and it is tres drole to be greeted with a bon jour and thanked with a merci. On the other hand, watching customers try to play along with their high school French is also quite amusing because try as they might, they just cannot get the staff to understand what they say. Que? Que? Garrison Keillor's skit about 'Cafe Berf ' is not too far off the mark.
Also, any request for something not standard issue is rudely dismissed. I was once served a chocolate mousse in a tall, tapering tulip glass so that the bottom 1/3 was inaccessible with the soup spoon I had been given. Might I have a dessert spoon? Non! An iced tea spoon, perhaps? NON! (he says, holding up the teaspoon) Zees ees ze spoon! So I calmly picked up the proper utensil (my mousse knife) and scraped the dessert out of the glass under his horrified gaze.
Gotta love 'em!
Get real, the MTs IM each other all the time and chat sm
I talk with other MTs daily on IM and have never been told not to. You can talk to them outside of work if you get their personal email, have never been told not to do that either. They only limit you if you allow it. There is freedom of speech in the U.S. Sharing line rates is just stupid, it's your income and no one elses business, they aren't afraid of that. If anything they don't want people complaining about them, which is understandable - if you worked in- house and they heard you complaining all the time at a hospital, they'd send you to the door or have a serious talk. Why should an outsourcing company be any different. We are employees using their equipment plain and simple. As for them being like a Big Brother, get real, it's just a scare tactic for you to think they are watching your every move, they don't have time for that, they don't have that many people to do that and way more important stuff to do because we share them with the clients and they have needs too. You are just way to paranoid.

last paycheck nonpayment question
Does anyone know what is involved if you have to file a complaint with a labor board for last paycheck? I am assuming that a labor board is where I would file such a complaint. Thanks
If you are running out of work, you need to chat w/your mgr. sm
No one should run out of work consistently; you should be trained on 1-2 backup accounts so that doesn't happen. On rare occasions, like holiday periods, I do run out during my shift and I do try to make up outside my 12-hr flex, or on another day off. It happens so seldom that I usually take PTO or unpaid time instead.
If you consistently do not work 35-40 hours, then yes you lose full-time benefits.
Amanda, you can use the live-chat (sm)
and they will help you trouble shoot. If you go to the screen for billing, you will see information there on how to live chat for technical issues. Hope this helps.
What action can I take for nonpayment on a company in NJ - sm
As of this Friday the first invoice will be 6 weeks past due, the 2nd 4 weeks. She has been saying for weeks she has mailed these two checks. Today she said she sent them priority (told me yesterday she would mail them priority). I know she is just biding time because there is no money to cover them which is my next problem. If and when I get these who knows how long it will be before I can cash them. I would like to tell her that if I don't have checks in the mail by Friday (that I can take to the bank and get cash for) that I am going to take action against her. I am just tired of her crap and lies. Obviously I no longer work for her either so she has no real incentive to pay me. She stopped sending me work because she knows I won't type if I don't get paid. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
That IS nonpayment for services rendered
and someone needs to give them a kick in the asp for doing that.
Thanks, Rennie, for answers in the chat room! NM

I don't get the constant chat about "overhired at Webmedx" - sm
My accounts are constantly running overtime. My STM is asking for OT on at least 3 accounts today and has been for the past month. If you are running out of work, ASK SOMEONE for more!
Yes, turn them in to the Department of Labor and Industry for nonpayment.
Try the BBB or FTC for unfair labor practices. Send them a certified letter demanding payment or you'll sue in small claims court.
when docs give mtso a check, then mtso pays you?

Isn't she an MTSO owner - which MTSO ? Just curious. n/mnn

Again, what issues ............
You are the one who asked me to get a grip just because I pointed out that Transcend had a 74% revenue increase this last quarter and accused me of being a "MDI cheerleader", which I am not. How can my pointing out that Transcend “ain’t doing so bad” financially make you so defensive?
You are the one who said that MDI had issues that Transcend needed to “Fix” or you were leaving MDI, and now you are saying your experience has not been bad, but there are issues with management. Again, I ask, what issues?
I don’t think my post was assumptive in any way, merely factual from my standpoint. I would certainly not assume that everyone has had the experience I have had with MDI. I am sure, especially from some of the post I have seen on this board, that there are a number of MTs who have issues with MDI, I was just stating I am not one of them.
You got issues? Deal with them or find another job! It is as simple as that.
My issues ( ignored)
First off, I like my accounts. I do. That's why I'm still there.
However, the QA people I've worked with have MUCH to be desired.
On my monthly reviews, the QA person scores me, but don't even give the sentence, much less the entire report, to give context on the errors. They only give me the word I presumably used incorrectly. The WORST error I made was not putting a capital letter in the middle of a word, i.e. BuSpar. Though other errors were even more minor, there is no way to refute or explain that if it's only a word, is there? I've asked for context, asked for an explanation. Zero response. I've stopped asking.
I've also repeatedly asked for instruction on how to do something right that I'm presumably repeatedly doing wrong because it doesn't match the stated convoluted format. It's only a matter of learning the keystroke, and I can't find the answer. No response despite repeated requests.
There are discrepancies between account instructions say and what the QA person insists you do, which are completely opposite of one another. Asked which is correct? No response. So, when I'm dinged for this on the next QA review, I certainly won't get a response THERE, either, will I?
Errors are counted off that are so completely and unbelievably miniscule that no medical professional would even begin think they are wrong because, in truth, the aren't (he was seen 1 time versus he was seen one time). But because Amphion has its little oddities it's wrong. DING~
And being wrong means that you are kept out of the money. I've always passed my monthly QA at over 99%, but that just isn't quite enough to get to you making more than a tenth of a cent more per line. It's a bit like needing to be an MT Stepford wife in order to win.
I will stay there for now, but I'm no longer as enamoured as I once was. I think top management is okay, but they ought to take a close look at some of the people who are running their ship in their name.
I usually don't post here, but I certainly can't take my whining to management. The bell would toll, and it would toll for me. Maybe one of their people will read this and pass it along.
Serious issues that had nothing to do with
nm
TTS issues
I previously worked for TTS. She has recently just started her own company to provide employee status. prior to that she was a company that was subletting work from other companies. In the beginning the work was great and the pay was never late, but then she had issues. Decided to pay when she wanted to pay. From what I understand things with that issue have gotten better there, but make sure to stay on top of it.
TTS Pay issues
IMO - Linda will NEVER have this 100% perfected and I would warn anybody to stay away!
I have never had these issues
When I first started a month ago, I was provided with a TON of information. I printed it all out and have a binder with pages and pages of physician's names, spellings of cities in the area my hospital is in, and even sample reports for each of the doctors on my account. Also, if I have ever had to email my lead with any questions, she has always gotten right back to me in a timely fashion.
Pay issues...
That's probably why they never called me back once I addressed to them when they called me for rehire if they had straightened out their payroll issues. I told them I would not even consider about coming back unless they pay me on time!!!! Of course they said they have a new payroll department, but after that conversation, I never heard back from them. The company really sounds screwed up in the head. I do not think anybody needs to work for them.
lag issues
Yes, this is definitely a hospital problem. I have had extreme problems with this, but they were supposed to have fixed it on Friday. I worked yesterday and only got kicked out once. I know that KS is working diligently on this. I really don't like this about the Meditech platform, but I do like the fact that it is straight typing. I use PC ShortHand and like that as well. I also think newbies (I've only bee on this acct. a month.) have a learning curve as far as physician and patient names, looking up, etc. Hang in there - I think it will be worth the wait.
I think it was TTS that had pay issues. sm
If you search for TTS, you'll see a few MTs had issues there with pay not being on time. It's possible people are confusing TTS, which I think is Transcription, Technology & Support or something like that, with TT, which stands for TransTech.
They don't pay well and there have been issues in the
past with not getting payment in a timely fashion. You can check the archives for more info.
no issues with pay
i don't know who posts these messages about gant transcriptions, but its very easy to read into the negative remarks and get a bad impression. i have worked for this company for quite some time and have been very happy in doing so. the issue of pay should be addressed with the one writing those checks, not with disgruntled people leaving snide comments when it's likely they are hurt for probably being fired for poor performance or something and want to get back with any digs they can. it's a great company if you give what you expect to receive!
