(and I have been in the business for 40 years) is that I would NEVER encourage anyone to become an MT. It is a dying profession, or at least if it is not dying, it is changing so much that it is not worth pursuing. The biggest change has been the loss of income. I make 20K less a year now than I did in the 90s.
