Honesty, Loyalty, and Integrity! sm

Posted By: Exp IC on 2005-10-08
In Reply to: I see people asking what the best company is, so I am going to turn the tables here. What would sm - MTSO looking to be the best

A company that will be honest, no matter what the cost. Integrity to keep our records and work in the USA. Loyalty to your entire staff, let them know how important they are to the company, as well as loyalty to your clients. Keep your TATs and promises to your clients. Keep your promises to your MTs.

A decent line rate such as 10 cpl or above and flexibility!

Hope that helps!

Loyalty?
How can you be loyal to a company that took your work and sent it offshore and then turns around and blames you for the poor quality! The fact of the matter is, they took a good company, got greedy and offshored for cheaper MTs and LIED about it, to everyone!!!! Now, they are paying the price! She didn't show any of us MTs any loyalty when she decided to offshore; heck, she lied continuously about it for months, so how can you have any loyalty for her? For those of you who have been having low work volumes, why do you think that is? It's because the offshore company is promised a set amount of work, so they get the work first, then the loyal MTs get what's left! Think about how far things have gone down hill in the past years. Dust off those resumes girls
I go by loyalty s/m
The company that overall treats me the best takes first priority for me.
Loyalty
Loyalty should go 2 ways. If they value you as an MT and cannot keep you busy enough so that you need 2 jobs, they should not object to your saying you would love to help them out on that particular day, but you have a prior commitment. They do not need to know you are working 2 jobs.
Co. out for $, no loyalty to anyone. We should also

Loyalty to MDI
I have been in this business 17 years, half of that time running my own service until people kept undercutting to the point it was not profitable.  Before that worked for a major Fortune 500 company that has laid people off for the last 20 years all while increasing the salaries and bonuses of the top executives (I was laid off 3 separate times, dh is still there but after 35 years now has to work a terrible shift to keep his job and who knows for how much longer.)  No offense but I always thought you girls who were so loyal to MDI were living in a bubble that was going to burst.  This was not your family or your best friend.  This was your JOB, working for a company just like any other company in this country and I learned long ago the employees don't matter.  I have a few more years until retirement hopefully and was hoping to stick it out but I am seriously thinking I need to get out of this industry and go back to school.  Reading the SEC filing about Transcend has me a little shocked and disappointed.  As I said before everyone needs to do what they need to do for themselves.  Good luck to all.
Appreciate the honesty! Thx. nm

Thanks for the honesty!!

It's obvious that you don't have a horse in the Transcend race and that you're objectively describing what really happens with this technology.  If you don't mind my asking, as a hospital employee, are you paid on a per-line basis or an hourly basis?  Because I think that also makes a difference.  If you're paid by the hour, you have the "luxury" of taking more time with a particular job to make sure that job quality comes first and are free of worrying if you're making your line count.

I can't wait to read these boards about six months from now.  I want to see if all the Transcend cheerleaders are still cheering.  I believe it's human instinct to want to believe in and be loyal to and defend the company that employs you.  Two months ago, I was still a cheerleader and very loyal to Transcend, but when you are working as hard as you always have and suddenly, without any warning, you find your income has dramatically decreased and have problems paying your light bill, something is drastically wrong.

How about some honesty for once
Office staff = loose lips.  The name of outsourcing company starts with the letter N.  Do you want me to continue Romey??
Well.. in all honesty..... they were my ... sm
favorite national that I worked for... and believe me.. I've worked for most of them.. the only reason I left was because I was offered an editing job somewhere else... (lets say.. a Soft place in H E double hockey sticks) and at Transcend I don't think you can move to editing until you have typed there for a while.. Anyway.. my biggest gripe with them could only be that they were still using the Voicewriter phones which were a nightmare for me.. for some accounts becasue those hospital accts felt if they were getting their work done for a certain price using what they had.. why should they get something newer... Well.. those phones .. at least mine..was possessed or something... if my roommate even sat in front of it.. it literally would shut down and not work for a half hour.. anyway.. others were using voice wave files and I was dealing with this antique phone with bizarre set up.. which eventually i lost 10 days of work becaseu of. they have an awesome tech support team... and a good software platform.. .. i thought....
looking for honesty :) thanks.

Right now, I am employed as a full-time psych. Transcriptionist in an office.  I currently make 25k a year.  Before I make the plunge to invest in my MT training, i really need to know if I can realistically make the same amount of money my first year.

i would really love to get into med. transcription, but my family's financial situation requires that I make no less than 25k a year.  I do understand that you make the least in your first few years, but im not sure we could afford that right now.

Is it realistic to expect 25k a year my first year? or should I wait until my family can afford less?

I reallu appreciate your honesty! if youo would like to reply by email, that is fine too.  Thanks so much!

Honesty please
Is it necessary for you to work at home or could you work in a doctor's office or hospital or outside the home? I was thinking a temp agency that specializes in medical personnel like Diversified Medical Staffing. I worked for them and learned a lot of different branches of medicine, drugs, etc. Granted the jobs are not permanent with bennies, but if you are looking to educate yourself without having to fork over $5K to someone else, I would try it and see. I also made a lot of useful contacts that I was able to utilize when I started my own business. I had 13 years of urology when I started from home but but was able to get into some temp jobs when I was downsized and enhance my employability. You can also get Stedman's books that will help you out along with the AAMT BOS.  I guess I would say do what you have to if your family depends on your salary.  Good luck to you.
Thanks to all of you for your honesty.. sm

Those are the things I needed to know.  I will keep looking and not give MQ another thought.

Honesty, No Way!
Well, they can't be honest because they don't know how to problem solve. If these companies could learn how to manage, fix the problem where the source is instead of dumping all of it on the lap of the MT, they could level the playing field and well, it'd be a whole nother ballpark. If they kept track of how long it takes to transcribe Dr. Can't Speak, they could have a case to charge the hospital more who would, in turn, counsel the physician. But, as long as they are think the only way to get business is to tolerate any and everything, then, they can't be honest because they aren't willing to accept the responsibility for any of it. It doesnt cost them anything (except ridiculous turnover). Very immature managing in this industry.
Thank you for your honesty!! nm.

why speak of loyalty when as MTs
Hasn't anyone noticed? This business is a sweat shop.... these MTSO have it made. They get cheap offshore workers and housewives and moms dying to work at home, busting their butts, turning their homes into sweatshops. Be loyal to WHOM? The company that treats you like crap and CUTS YOUR PAY and talks to you like you are an idiot? Oh yeah, RIGHT hahahaha you are nutso babes!
loyalty won't pay your bills
x
While I'm sure MDI-MD appreciates your loyalty
appreciate your posting here, adding pokers to the fire of the already hurt/unhappy MTs. Give it a break, really. And you not only have to share that your experience is absolutely Mary Poppins material, perfect in every way, but you are compelled to discredit everyone else's negative experience. I'm not even involved, but it gets my dander up. Get over yourself. You're doing your beloved company more harm than good by inflaming an already inferno situation. I'm sure Carlotta agrees. In fact, I know she would agree with me.
when it comes to your own wellbeing, the only loyalty you need is to yourself.
.
Companies have to earn loyalty (sm)
Besides, all prospective employees go through a background check.  It's not like these MTSOs are completely in the dark.  I cannot believe (or can I?) that some companies ask for people's screen names to monitor stuff they say on a message board.  If they're that petty and paranoid, there's good reason for it, and I betcha dollars to donuts it has *absolutely* nothing to do with MT attitudes.  If anyone is spilling inappropriate information here, there's a moderator to take care of that.

BTW, now that I'm happy with my company, I am loyal.  In fact, I'm so positive that when *I* post on here about my job, people often give me this oh, stuff it, Polyanna attitude.

The only thing that could possibly get me to leave is the promise of all that money getting my own accounts would bring.  I don't think I'd like to deal with all the hassle involved, though...but if someone had a Powerpoint presentation to convince me it was easy as fallin' off a log, I'd be very interested!
No work versus loyalty

My pay period ended last week and I made $42.  My supervisor is telling us to be patient and actually is getting angry when any MT starts to question what is going on.  We have been told to be patient and the patient's are trying to meet their deductibles and that is why there is no work.  I work for a huge hospital system with over 1,000 doctors with at least 30 outside facilities.  Now, yesterday, we have been told not to log on again because the hospital has contacted them and said do not log in.  I cannot go another pay making $42. What should I do? Be loyal or move on.

Thanks

No work versus loyalty
What company is this that you work for as the company I work for is the same way lately?
What happened to loyalty and ethics?
You sold out! You are a coward and you are weak. You are also a thief.

She asked for honesty
if you need to learn other MT lingo, you will not make close to what you are now, for a while.
In all honesty, the whole reason they need the MT

With no clients, there's not a need for an MT.  I think it's great the companies put the client first because after all they are the butter for the bread.

Honesty is not the best policy?
I had an interview with a company who I know is hiring yesterday and when they asked why I left the company I was with, I was honest with them.  It was a simple error on my part and all of a sudden the mood changed in the interview and they didn't have anything right now...try in a couple of months! It doesn't pay to be truthful any more, I guess, but I'm not so sure I would want to work for a company anyhow who doesn't feel it is worthy of taking a look at me, even though at times I may have flaws.
Honesty a problem for you?
Or harsh reality?

Sorry, if you think it's okay to turn down positions with the current economic situation and then have someone whine about turning down a 'wonderful' job because it inconvenienced her, YOU have the problem.

There are countless MTs that would love to have the opportunity she just turned down. I'm delighted one of them will now get the position they're willing to work for.

I suspect you're REAL problem with my post is that I'm not a Bible-thumper, hehehehe.

Thanks!
Integrity
I am currently employed with Integrity.  This is a great company to work for.  I have been employed with Integrity for over a year now and I love the work.  There is plenty to go around for everyone.  The Emdat program is not that bad to work with.  I find it slow at times but it is usable.  I have worked with better programs, but it is tolerable.  Pay is by direct deposit on the 1st and 15th of each month and my pay has always been deposited on time.  Hope this helps.  If you have any other questions feel free to ask.  You can email me.  TY.
Integrity LLC
I just wanted to help try and answer any questions that anyone may have on Integrity LLC.  I have worked for them since they started and have not worked for a better company.  They do work with EMDAT and know some people don't care for it but I have found that it is alot more user friendly than some I have used.  There is plenty of work to go around and looking for great MT's that will as loyal to the company as the company is to their MT's.  I can not say enough good things about them.  Pay is the 15th and the 30th and always on time.  Getting new and bigger accounts all the time.  I have worked for some of the larger companies and I have found that this is more like a family than just being a number.  If you have any questions at all please feel free to email me and I will try and answer any questions you have.  This is the cream of crop MT's and couldn't ask for anything better.
Integrity
I was offered to take this test from them.  God, tell you if that is a sample of what their files sound like, do not want any part of them!  I could not find anything on them here or in archives, either!  The test is about 10 minutes long, too long for me to spend on that one anyway!
Integrity
Nicole is a great boss. Pay is always on time, however, you have to wait about a month for your first pay. Pay is kind of low... highest account is 8 cpl, rest are 7 or 7.5. Emdat platform.
Integrity

Anybody work for Integrity? Good? Bad?

Thanks

Integrity
She is great to work for, not so great on the pay 7 cpl to a tops of 8 depending on account.  Have to wait a month for your first pay.  Emdat platform.
Integrity
If you are referring to the Integrity Service out of Florida, you need to speak to the owner.  There is always plenty of work on one of the many accounts.  I work part time for her and have done so for the past two years.  I have had no problem with work or getting paid.  Sorry that you are having a difficult time.  Hope this helps.
Integrity

I am a former mentor of Allstate. *** (Owner) owes me almost $1000 (this is for 2-1/2 months work) When I gave my notice, my accounts were locked immediately and I was unable to get my line counts to send invoices. In fact, I couldn't even edit my interns documents. When decided not to give a 2 week notice since I was told I would be put on probation if I stayed and I could not afford to work for free any longer, I was told that I forfeited all of my earnings because I signed an IC contract.  Since April, I have made a total of 78.00 working there.

If you are an experienced MT, stay far away and go to a hospital which is where I previously worked. I regret my decision to leave the hospital (due to health issues) because I was always treated fairly and paid well and on time bi-weekly, with benefits.

If you are a recent MT graduate thinking about paying 99.00 to sign up for the intern program, that is a big mistake, there are other intern programs where you can find a job without you paying them (and sometimes even get a salary to boot, even though it is lower than a seasoned MT). My point is, there are many good opportunities out there and this is DEFINITELY not one of them.

I am posting this because I am a genuinely honest (and yes Christian) person and I should have known better, especially when I was not even tested. I don't want others to be cheated by this so called Christian organization.  If you ever get paid, it will take 2 or 3 months for one month pay and if you decide you can't afford to work there and quit, you forfeit all of your earnings and do not get paid period.

PLEASE BE CAREFUL!

The last line just shows my loyalty and dedication (sm)
to my current employer, but desire to stay in the field of MT via a national company should my previous position not be offered when I return.
The people with the loyalty to the almighty dollar...
.
Thank you and to poster above for the info. I appreciate your honesty.
the info and your honesty.
Blunt honesty is needed
We need to be blunt and honest with each other.  There is no time to sugar-coat or beat around the bush.  It was good advice that was given to you by the previous poster.  The truth is that you cannot make money by waiting.  I know that I delayed searching for another job, and now I am paying for it, because it does take a while to learn a new company, new platform, and to receive the first paycheck.  I waited for my original company to come through; all that happened was my bank account bottomed out.  Hindsight being 20/20, I now wish I had moved on much sooner!!
Your honesty is refreshing,Tonya.
Thank you for posting, and thanks for being so forthright.
If they do not have the integrity to stand up and say they have
enough staff, then I have lost all respect I had for any of them. Most of them have no ability anyway, so when they lose those jobs, they will be on the welfare lines.
Obviously I have more integrity than you do. Argue with yourself.
Good bye. You are a joke.
Integrity, any info on them? nm
Thanks!
Integrity Transcription

Anyone else work or has worked for Integrity Transcription in Venice, Florida?  Do they pay on time?  How are the dictators and the owner?

TIA

Integrity Transcription LLC, can anyone tell me....
about working for this company, have several concrete offers on the table, been doing searches, having problems finding information - is this a smaller company with a good MTSO?  I know they use emDat, is it hard to learn (I have almost 20 years on various others).  Any info SOOO appreciated!
Integrity Transcription
Anyone work for Integrity? Pros/Cons?
Anyone hear anything about Integrity?
Has anyone heard anything about a company named Integrity? I started there on May 12, 2008 and now have no work coming in. I am afraid this is a set up where they steal your money after working.
Integrity in transcription
You know why I won't just find another job (THIS TIME)? Because I've 'found another job' three times in the past two years now.

The first time, it was because all of my accounts were offshored to India.

The second time, it was because our line rates changed detrimentally, in the form of some REALLY sneaky line accounting and then eventually a move to not paying for templates, headers, or footers - even though the line rate that I had accepted with said company was based on the fact that they paid for these things (7.5 cpl BECAUSE of that, when I'd had a 8.5 cpl offer come in at the same time for a company who did NOT pay those things).

The third time, I left because I found out that the company I was working for was surreptitiously offshoring their work when they claimed to be 100% AMERICAN. And then I was asked to QA (for 3.5 cpl) the HORRIFIC work that the Indians had done.

How many times do I have to 'just find another job' because every single stinking company is backhanded and sneaky and doesn't hold up their end of the bargain and shafts the transcriptionists at every turn?

If you're okay with breaking the law (which I will address in another post), then that's on you.

I am not. And I am not interested in being complicit in someone else breaking the law. And, furthermore, I would prefer to pave the way for transcriptionists EVERYWHERE to not be taken advantage of. My measly 9 cpl that I make as an IC (and pay my OWN taxes, which makes it equal out to, yes, 7.5 cpl) is worth kissing goodbye for this.

I am unafraid.

Moreover, I am ready to give up transcription for good.

I've been witness to years and years of whining and moaning on this forum (and others) about how poorly we're all treated.

I am going to do something about it, even if it means sacrificing my job.

Eff. It's time someone actually did.
MDI = Mutation of D's Integrity

I do believe your loyalty is displaced. No MTSO or national are loyal to MTs
even though they claim to be. Loyalty is earned just like respect. This is a business just like any other business. If one company cuts pay, takes away health insurance, etc, why should any person or MT be loyal to that company? If promises are made and then broken or lies are told, why should any MT be loyal to that MTSO or company?

On the other hand, yes, if the MTSO or national and their people take care of the MT and provide her/him continuous work flow, as promised, pay on time, and work together with an honest and respectful relationship, then, yes loyalty should be mutual and reciprocating.

For you to just come on here and claim MTs should be loyal to company is very improper of you!

Ok, those are my cents worth! Have a good night!
