one had been particularly low for weeks now and today there is a massive quantity. I wonder if maybe that hospital was trying out another service and just sending us a small amount. Whatever the reason, the work, at least for now has picked up greatly.
We are having KFC for supper so I can get in there and get a few of those OT lines while they last.
Hope everyone else is having good luck with their accounts also.

If you take on a secondary account, do you bounce back and forth between your primary and secondary based on turn-around times, or do you get work from your secondary only if there's no work on your primary? I'm pretty sure it's the former, but just want to be sure. TIA.

Have a main and secondary and almost always have work, but.. sometimes after OT has been offered (like this morning) I have nada. Think I need to be assigned a third account or be put on as a helper somewhere. I suppose I ask my team manager, are we allowed to request an account that looks busy, must it be an account in her Book of Business like with MQ. Any info before I make the call would be appreciated.

I have 5 accounts with Webmedx. I am always running out of work on the weekends because like you said they call for OT and then there is nothing left for us who do work the weekends to type while everyone else is getting more money for OT. Not very fair. Like the other MT said beware of what you wish for. different accounts with different account specifics is sometimes more trouble than it is worth. Haven't had a full paycheck for quite awhile.
I was out a couple of minutes, mostly getting secondary and tertiary accounts. (sm)
I know when I hired on I was excited I could get days so easily, maybe we are just too many on one shift.
I agree, we need our own board where we can chat without being chastised for monopolizing the board.
I think the next time I run out I am switching to my part time job and trying to get back in here this evening.

which it has been. I know we're told to work secondary if primary is low, but I don't think it's right for me to take away from somebody else's primary account if it's scraping the bottom of the barrel too. I guess that's why I'm spending 12 hours at my computer a day to get my line count.

so many of you who responded woke up on the wrong side of the bed today - or are you always this nasty? She is asking a question on how many of you do work every weekend and how you do it. She turned down the job so why are you so quick to crucify her? To the OP, there are still companies out there that do not require a commitment to every weekend and some that require no weekend commitment and even some that require no commitment to any set hours, like a true IC should be. I know because I work for one. It took me some time and research to find the company that met my needs, but they are out there. Keep looking; you will find the one that is right for you, too. If this one doesn't offer what you want, you did the right thing in turning them down. Stick to your priorities and good luck to you.

You might want to ask about shift differential for evenings/nights/weekends, holiday pay, OT pay, whether OT is ever available and/or is OT ever mandatory. I don't like ASR so I'd ask something about whether they were moving towards more ASR. I can't think of anything else ATM.... Thank you for the great ideas!!

I talk to people daily about transcription and I could not agree with you more .. what a sad state for professionalism. You could be in the cellar transcribing in your undies, but I do not need to know this and most of the hard working MTs out there who daily do make a difference are offended by the visual. Working remotely is not a given, but it is a boon to people with children, with disabilities, with limited access to a strong job market. It does not mean that you do not take what you do seriously and that you give it your best. I am so fortunate where I am to have a great team of people who work hard, turn around good work, keep their end of the bargain we make, and appreciate that they have a great situation and respect themselves for having achieved a great account, good pay, good feedback and employee status with good rates and benefits that are very affordable. My intention is to keep it that way and thank heavens mostly I have my wits about me and choose carefully and well. Our MTs are professionals and we thank our lucky starts for them each and every day. The interesting thing is that I think that a recommendation for someone to come to work with you is the most sincere form of flattery and while we add to our ranks, I am getting so many referrals from our own MTs.

bloody blue .. but I have to agree that with automation today there is no excuse for not having direct deposit. Then, to have to pay for it to be late .. I would be a mental case! UPS rides the men, apparently they are not the tightest ship in the business any longer. The Christmas rush was never an excuse before, it was when they shone .. lousy service seems to have an intrusive and pervasive effect on everything these days. As for him being offended .. after 35 years there is nothing you could say that he has not said himself .. often! Merry Christmas .. I am so sorry they failed you.

One of the reasons I first went with WMX was the 35 hour work week for FT with bennies. They stopped that.
The health insurance was decent, but if you chose to use it and had the option of another policy available you had to pay a penalty/fine or whatever they call it.
The ASR rate was better than other companies - now they fixed that.
I guess they will do away with our 12 hour windows next. Though I understand now everyone even has those.
I was disgruntled when I worked for MQ, but they did cut our wages in a more gradual manner.
This is a HUGE percentage and right here going into the holiday season. --

That is just outrageous and one of the worst I have heard being offered. At that rate, they can go get their own plans for half the price. I had applied but never mind..I pay $360 a month now for family insurance and 9.5 cpl..so forget them..
Secondary account
When I first started, I was put on a GREAT ER account that I love, but since it is only ER reports, they wanted to give me a secondary account in case the workload ever gets low on that account. I didn't even have to ask for a backup account. They gave it to me a day or two after I started because they didn't want me to ever run out of work. I got a HUGE hospital account as a backup and never run out of work. They are bot on the ExText platform and I love them both.

A few years ago my secondary went to another company and (sm)
evidently some of the office people as well, they in turn gave the new company the names and phone numbers of us who had worked the account and the new company actually called many of us to solicit us as employees. I felt it would have been okay for me to switch, since I had had no control over the account coming or going, but I didn't feel it was right for some of the higher ups to be involved in soliciting us for the new company. If anyone was in the wrong, they were. They shouldn't have shared records and personnel information like that from one company to the other IMO.

I have also repeatedly asked for a secondary account. I am told each time, we will get you trained on one of these new accounts when they come aboard. Well, the new account comes on board, my account gets some work and I never get trained! Also, my supe loves to posts OT for my primary all the time, and seems soo shocked when the end of the week comes and our account is totally out of work!! DUH!! Do not post OT soo soon or for so long! I have given this company a try for now 9 months. I'm getting sick of this crap!

I have 4 accounts, doing all work types, and I usually have enough work but this is the slow time of
year so we are scrambling a little for lines. Easy platform, paychecks DD, always on time.
I have been trying to be patient but have been working on my secondary account so much lately, I am
starting to think it's my primary. Been in the business a long time and understand slow times, but this has been a chronic problem for many months, so I understand poster's point of view. Stick it out if you can, if not, there are lots of other companies out there, but remember, the grass is always greener on the other side and you may be sorry you jumped ship. Hopefully you can find somewhere that will make you happy and feel appreciated.
