Hmm, so "the States" have caused issues?

Wikipedia is not a real good resource and can be self-written (see their own disclaimers). I'm seeing closer to 12% Muslim India and I feel sorry for India that is happening, especially after the horrid Glasgow incident in Scotland.
I'm glad the tech team in India gave help, but I've found the tech team here in the good ol' U.S., where the source of work comes from to fund us all to begin with, quite adequate. I feel no need for others to come in, take over and tell us how to run our medical system or record the treatment of our fellow countrymen.
Sassenachs = outsiders or outlanders.
I've had good relations with Hindu people HERE in the U.S., U.S. citizens who chose to live within my country and its standard of living. Spiritual and sweet-tempered U.S. citizens.
Yet medicine and treatment of our people are none of other countries' affairs or business and it's ironic we're turning our own production over to other nations to employ our own people. Ironic and disgusting in a most base way. Trying to run it from afar invites revolution for change. Count on it.

I have heard sometimes it is caused
by your computer speed or ISP connection speed. Do you know what yours is?
MQ has caused more grief
to MTs than any other company on the planet. I personally know two MQ MTs who had to go bankrupt.
I think the person who caused the bad experiences (sm)
is not directly working with the transcriptionists so much. I think they've changed things for the better from what I hear.
D&L caused me a terrible problem
I waited nearly 6 weeks for my first check - after purchasing software I now know I should never have agreed to get...
Was one of my first remote experiences. I would not post this now since it's been a few years - if not for the fact they are still operating the same way. Hopefully others will see their modus operandi and can avoid the same grief.
In *this* society, if you get behind on bills you rarely can catch up because creditors pile on the fees - that's crapitalism for you - so it's critical for MTSOs to consider timely payment to contractors top priority. Fortunately, most do.
I apologize for any discord my post may have caused.
Again, despite other claims, it was not my intention to stir up such a big argument or to cause harm to anyone (including the company), and at this point the argument isn't even about the issue anymore. It seems to have morphed into an entirely different argument about whether people have the right to post pros and cons about issues within a company and where to post them. I think people should be allowed to express themselves freely on this board (under the discretion of the administrator) no matter what side of the issue they may be on, especially if all avenues internally have been exhausted . I have no desire to rehash, reargue, redefend myself, or re-anything. I think people can make their own determinations from everything that has just transpired that bad feelings have come from both sides of the issues. I just want to apologize for my part in it.
I have no guilt - I am not the sole employee who caused overhiring..sm
First of all, I am not the one who posted that there are over 500 jobs - that was someone else. Yes, I did say the work has picked up lately but then I went on to say that all of us employees need to stay on the ball so more won't be hired which would lead us to the same place where we were months ago - wishing there was more work to go around. Second, I don't have any guilt - I was merely stating a fact of what happened in my situation because I cannot speak for anyone elses situation. I was trying to explain and make a point at the same time. The point being when people aren't available to work, these companies are forced to find others who can and will do the job no matter what the circumstances are. And I was also trying to point out that they are a good company - they understand that things happen and they give you the benefit of the doubt but at the same time they have to make sure they are covered too. Third, I knew there would be some rude remarks. There can NEVER be a post that talks nice about a company without ONE person making rude remarks - but to each his own! All I know is I am happy with them, happy to be employed by them - that is why I felt the need to try to defend them somewhat. They are a great company and I just hated to see them face all of the negativity that they do not deserve!
It is not "THE WORST"!
Please, give it a try. I love it and I work out of the Dallas office. I have a couple of friends that have worked out of other offices and were not exactly thrilled, but I think the Dallas office is the best.
Just because "the client wants it", does NOT
And going along with what a morally bankrupt client wants doesn't make it 'right', either.
I used to have a business of my own once. Service-related, but not MT. Sometimes clients asked for things that were just WRONG. As small as my business was, I still had the backbone to say 'NO'. It's sad that these big MTSOs, with oh, so much money backing them up, don't have the same backbone.
They seem to have forgotten:
'TWO WRONGS DON'T MAKE A RIGHT'.
Someone asked me about "the email" sm
It was just your basic recruiting email, probably got my address from an AHDI/AAMT membership list. Come work for us, we have competitive wages - I deleted it right away b/c I'm happy (obviously!) at Webmedx!
She sounds like Elizabeth on "The View" !

"The Suits" is the proper term for these people.
There are Suits in every industry. They are the MBAs and they consider business a giant chess board. So much fun to move all the little pieces around and see what happens. Don't be afraid to sacrifice your pawns.
Let me rephrase: "The owner presents herself as an MT who understands our situations"

Looks like the original post got pulled, too. Too many of us looking for "the" place to work,

No advice, but humor.. my girlfiend calls that "the speed of loneliness"

"The most miserable group of people in the world"? Great attitude for a Lead.
Hope you're not one for long.
It's not being done here in the states!
..
Unfortunately some states do allow this! sm
Depending on the state in which you live and/or the state in which the company resides, mandatory OT is permissible. Isn't that infuriating? Also, laws state that if you do not follow their mandatory OT ruling, it could be legal grounds for dismissal by the company! Ah, our justice system in the US these days - isn't it just wonderful? NOOOOOOOOOOT!
OSI not hiring in certain states
Has anyone else ever had OSi contact them back to say they are not hiring MTs from their state? Does this seem like discrimination? Isn't that kind of like we aren't hiring Caucasians at this time?
OSI not hiring in certain states
I got the same message. I live in California.
OSI not hiring in certain states
Well that makes no sense that they don't hire people in California. I doubt they have to be licensed in EVERY state. That would cost them a TON of money, but wait...
They DO outsource to India. What does that tell you? huh
3 states away? try to be realistic
nm
Is OSI still in business in the States?
xx
that's fine if the CP states that, but...
NONE of mine state little details like that. Bottom line, you're darned if you do, you're darned if you don't!!
exactly what my post states sm
I said you had to learn a new skill set if you wanted to ever make money on VR, and explained what that new skill set was (manual skills). Any MT can do VR, but a MT who has no desire how to learn those new skills will never be proficient on it, and will keep coming here complaining about how little money they make. And if your pay is too low to make any money now matter how much you learn, then that means it is time to switch companies, because either way it is nobodies fault but your own. They are companies who pay decent livable wages. You are pretty much responsible for what you allow people to pay you. If you don't like it you go somewhere else. If there is nobody offering the pay you want then you are most likely in the wrong career and should go back to school, and began in a field that has higher pay. That is the way it works in a capitalist-free market.
Do you think nationals have licenses in all 50 states? Not. nm
Take a look at the reply above... that states don't take this the wrong way but...
Com'on talk about a smack in the face. Proofing my reply? What is that?
Sounds like critisism.
No, I like the idea of uping my line count by 40%. Trying to use the Expander was good advice. I did not knock that at all. I think I said thanks for the advice on that. My reply was solely for the person who proofed what I wrote.
No critisism towards an expander : )
In most states, if you voluntarily quit
even if you know you are losing your job in X amount of days, you cannot collect unemployment. If the people at Heartland want to be able to collect unemployment, unfortunately, they need to stay.
they hire in all states; depending on what
state you are in, determines if you can be SE if that is what you are looking for.
I actually meant this generally, I do not think it's all that different in other states....
from what I've been reading and hearing from others. My husband and I have separate insurance each with our own employer and pay a fair rate of 100 a month or so and they are very good plans and not that HMO garbage. BUT we don't have kids. We have an excellent income and live on the east coast too but that would not make it *okay* for me if we had to pay those rates. So, right now I'm thinking of definitely nixing that whole having a family idea we've been discussing. I was hesitant anyway because I feel this world is just not a nice safe place anymore. So this may just seal the deal for me. What a country, huh? : (
The recent job posting states
discretionary match, which is why I was wondering if anyone got the info yet.
As far as the PTO, the handbook has a chart, as I recall the first increase is after the second year.
Their ad states cable or DSL, I think, but once in a pinch sm
I used dialup when my cable was out. It was INCREDIBLY slow retrieving jobs and loading the demographic information, but it did work. I don't know about WiFi -- guess you could call and ask them. The people in the office are very friendly and helpful.
Good luck!
They do pay benefits if you live in certain states. SM
Last I heard it was CA, FL, and one other, not sure which.
She isn't complaining about not finding a job. If she states
do they even contact her if they don't have that specialty? I don't agree with any MT limiting to certain specialties because it makes it harder to find quality jobs, but I also don't know her circumstances so I'm not about to judge. Maybe she's close to retirement and doesn't care to struggle with learning new things. Who knows? Either way, for someone to try to talk her into doing something else and then be rude when she won't, that's not right either. At any rate, yes, just keep telling them NO, that's about all you can do. Annoying, yes, but no one can force you to do anything. As for the rude people, I find saying have a nice day or good luck finding what you need and hanging up works well.
For the record, the same happens to companies, too, in that they'll advertise for certain criteria but people will still call or apply without the criteria hoping to talk the company into giving them a chance anyway. I guess it's just human nature. lol
Transcend policy states that an (sm)
employee who discloses or discusses their salary can be dismissed. Their line rates are comparable and you can ask for an increase, but like every other company there is a max. If you're looking for a ton of work and to always stay busy, they're a great company.
Their pre-employment letter states 8 cpl, no
exceptions. About 2 years ago I was offered 9.5 cpl, but didn't accept position. When I reapplied they offered 8 cpl. I've heard that some MTs negotiated for better rate.
Her ad lower on the job board states
pay/benefits: $7000.If that's weekly, that would be great! LOL Don't know what she means by that.
The top ad wasn't even completed. Is it that she is frustrated and overworked, or just plain old rushing through the ad? Seems very confusing.
Axolotl's website states
Medical Transcription Opportunities
As part of our company's growth, we are recruiting work-at-home medical transcription professionals to become full-time or part-time employees. If you possess at least three years of hospital or two years of multi-specialty clinic medical transcription experience and want to become part of a top-rate team, please fax or email your resume,
Our website specifically states we DO NOT pay for spaces
so I don't know who or where you got your information, but we are very honest about it. Sorry for your misunderstanding.
Yeah, right, everyone of us who contacted our states were wrong. nm
nm
Does alltype only hire in specific states?
I ask this because the ad states benefits in only certain states. Does anyone know?
No, just someone who is not an accountant. Responsible for 200+ employees, ICs in several states. No
nm
There's 49 other states who are tired of hearing how expensive CA is. nm,
x
Right, it is all in how your company policy states. I have worked
for a hospital where OT was classified as anything over 8 hours a day, another where it was over 40 a week, and another where it was over 80 in a pay period.
Some states allow for part time unemployment. sm
I used to work full time in another line of work and my hours were cut down to part time. I then was told I could file for partial unemployment, which I did and received; however, I then got officially let go from the company I filed on so take that into consideration. Agree with the other poster, you have to be employee status.
Sorry, can't seem to e-mail. states server not found...so here goes
Thank you so much for answering my questions. I, too, currently work for MQ, have been with them approximately 10 years. Kind of scared to make the change, but am tired of working for peanuts and heard MDI paid quite well compared to most. I do love my main account, but don't care for the cesspool I have now and then.
Do you still work for MQ and how many hours? I ask because I figure I will work for MQ until I feel comfortable leaving and working for MDI. Do you have to submit a schedule of what hours each day you will be working? I understand you have to have a minimum of 700 lines or 3500 a week, but just wondering how specific you had to be with exact hours you would be on.
You said Bayscribe seemed outdated. Is it difficult to learn and do most of the accounts have an automatic ADT feed or is there a lot to fill in? And you said you get paid for filling this info. in, too? That would be great. There is on account that I have with MQ that I have a lot to fill in and it so frustrating not getting paid for this.
Well, I guess that's about it. I will just wait to hear from the recruiter. Sorry so long and thanks for answering me.
Actually you are wrong about the payday thing. It states clearly that sm
the pay dates are 08/03 and 08/17, so unless your bank magically gets money for you, it has nothing to do with posting dates.
As for the insurance thing, I'm like the other poster. I didn't even get my new cards until last week and until then I thought I had screwed up and didn't even get the extra coverage. I'm not bashing Keystrokes. I just think they could have waited one more pay period and given people a heads up, this is coming thing for those of us not as wise as you obviously are.
yes, but it states no entry-level hows that for interesting?
nm
States right on dictaphone web site when you go for line count
that your company sets the line count. Dictaphone does not! and you have no idea what they set it at.
it is a sad state of affairs when transcription companies feel they have to steal from the little they already pay transcriptionists by manipulating line counts. I know it is done, and really makes you wonder how these people sleep at night. I guess they do it because they can. If ever an industry needs to be governed by somebody it is this industry with all the flagrant stealing going on with national companies and plain immorality. There are honest companies out there, I know I finally found one, but most nationals steal, lie, manipulate, and are totally dishonest, I also know because I have worked for a number of them.
Read Goldbird's post...clearly states the facts.
