Has anyone heard of Hearsay Transcription Services? Their job ad contains WPM and tapes, which makes me a bit leery. How does one convert WPM to lines? Any info will be very much appreciated.

HEARSAY TRANSCRIPTION" is a SCAM!
Hearsay Transcription is an individual that contacts applicants late at night (9PM) to complete transcripts tests THAT evening, when she is behind in her transcripition.
It is a SCAM, and if you tested for her, send her a bill for your services. Or better yet, contact the spoken word folks in her transcript and let them know how she gets her transcription done by others by alleging to be testing, when she is in fact just utilizing applicants to complete her work for her late in the evening when behind.

Ok so I saw where someone had posted about this company but never really got a reply.. so I'm asking again? I filled out an application for this company weeks ago. She kept contacting me about testing but it was never at the same time. She finally sent me a test yesterday, which I completed & returned to her late last night. I know I had quite a few [INAUDIBLE]'s but she seemed to think use of the correct template was more important? Anyways, she offered me a job and I saw someone on here where its a scam, so I thought I would get a different opinion??

Has anyone heard of, or worked for Q-Med Transcription Services in Holland, Michigan? If so, could you please share information on them. I tested for a job and want to know if they are a good company. TIA.
Beware of hearsay.
I know that most of the time the only way to get information about a company that you are considering is to ask around boards such as this one for opinions from fellow MTs. I would hope that when you receive such an inflammatory post (i.e., she is honestly the most hateful and incompent MTSO I have EVER heard of) that you might take such a response with a grain of salt. Especially when the person does not know how to spell incompetent. Sorry, could not resist, lol.
The poster has never worked for Omniscribe by her own admission. It is possible that this is the same person who periodically posts rumors of Omniscribe being a bad company in the interest of her friends. I have no idea what her agenda is and, quite frankly, I don't care.
I'll make my point and then macro this post for future noise from this poster.
I have been at Omniscribe for over a year now and absolutely LOVE my job. There is one other MT here that has been here longer than me and she is also happy here. Hmmmm... Wow... Come to think of it, I don't know of a single MT here who is unhappy with their job or with the MTSO. Omniscribe has had tremendous growth over the last year and has attained and held new contracts because the owner demands quality so the clients get quality reports.
I wouldn't be surprised if other MTs from Omniscribe reply soon. A friend of the owner has let us know about this post, and I'd be surprised if Omniscribe is not further defended against such outright lies and false propaganda.
Have a great day - and do more research on any company to which you may wish to apply. Not every company is the right fit for every MT and Omnscribe does demand quality work.

Disorganized is an understatement. The company is run by people who have absolutely no experience or understanding of the transcription business. They work on ChartScript.net, SoftMed's web based platform. There are numerous complaints on this site in regards to this platform.

I saw on here a couple weeks/months ago that Breitner was not paying their employees. I remember because I had an interview with them and was thinking of working for them but then got sick. TRS is an awesome company! I have worked there for a year and a half and have absolutely no complaints. The employee has a lot of control over how much they earn, dependent on several factors. The line-counting system is fair and accurate, and I have never had trouble getting my lines in. I have never worked for a company that truly cares about its employees the way TRS does. They have been honest and up front about what the company is doing, why, and what the future holds. I can't imagine working anywhere else.

Breitner Transcription Services
I am appealing to the masses of MTs, especially the ones who have had any experiences with Breitner TS based in Massachusetts. I am at a crossroad regarding them and what they did to me and wonder if they have done this same thing to anyone else. Please email me if you have experience, good or bad, with Breitner T services. Basically, this is the story: I tested for them, they called and offered me a FT position, but had to use my own computer. My older PC was tested by them and it did not pass, so I bought a brand new computer to work for them. I had 2 days of training and they let me go. They eventually paid me for the training. I do not understand how a company can do this and get away with it. Believe me, I cannot afford to buy a computer and now I have to pay for it and I am not working for them. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks so much.

She seems pretty sure about wanting me to help out and said she would contact me today but so far I have not heard from her, even after sending an email to her regarding this this morning. I too tested for Digital Transcription Services back at the end of February. I sent my tests in and never heard a word from the company. How inconsiderate in my opinion. I'm sure I wouldn't want to work for a company that is run this way.

I believe this is incorrect. TRS does train and hire MTs in Trinidad and Guyana, and are launching another training program in Barbados and will hire some of those graduates, too. To me, this seems like off-shoring.
