Thank you for saying what you said about TT. I have just takes a position there and of course worry when joining a new company about running out of work. I am fortunately one of those MTs that shows up on time and works and I am good at what I do. I know how things can be having to pick up the slack from those that cherry pick and do not work their shifts or refuse to do certain doctors. I am the one that gets those left behind. I am very excited about coming on and see they have a great benefits package also. Any pointers you can give me would be much appreciated. Thanks. Carol

I have just joined the TT team and will begin my training on Monday. I love the Dictaphone platform as you can look at all previous reports by Dr. or Patient and that is a great reference tool. I missed that so much when I left to go to the company I am at now. I have looked at the bonus and benefits structure and I really must say I am truly impressed. I hope it all is as good as it looks on paper. I have been told I am starting on a new account and that work is plentiful which is of course always a scary thing when moving on to a new company when you are used to steady work. I am pretty excited about this though and hope I stay for a long time.

Does anyone know on what platform the clinic notes are to be transcribed, if any special equipment will be needed other than what is stated in their ad, or have any info in general about the 10 open clinic MT positions? I've seen they have a lot of positive posts lately so I'm thinking of applying.

I couldn't afford their benefits. Be careful and check into that first before going to work for them. Insurance would have cost me $300 a month for single individual.

I have a question about Trans Tech. Do they provide computers. If not does anyone know the requirements for your personal computer? People seem happy with this company. How is the pay? Precyse or Trans Tech
I have never worked for Trans Tech, but do work for Precyse. I will tell you that Precyse is a wonderful company....not perfect, no company is. They have lots of work, value their MTs, pay a fair line rate and give excellent benefits. Worked for MQ in the past...a million xxx better than MQ!

there is seemingly disenchantment in the postings? I will not try VR again, so just wanted to know. I will never EVER work for that kind of money EVER. This is a highly skilled and technical, knowledgable based profession. PERIOD and ever changing info to keep up with.

The only work available at Transcend is the junk accounts that they don't trust the MTs in India to do. I'm sick of the work going there, and it's very obvious. They stink at communication too. Sooooooooo, I vented and feel much better.

I see they have a job posting but am so leary of these outsourcing companies. What can you tell me about them. From the archives they seem to have a good reputation, but some of the postings are a year old.

are in hot pursuit for radiology and psychiatry, she has called twice, but I am dealing with others, too, and I am frazzled. Just wanted to know any particulars about the company, nice to work for, any horror stories, etc??? Thank you all very kindly!
Either would be a good choice. I've worked for both.
In the archives, both companies have good and bad comments. You have to weigh one against the other and whether you think someone is just disgruntled or not. Both are better than MQ or Sph.
Try First Choice Medical (in Florida). When I worked for it, sm
they required a minimum of 30 minutes of dictation per day. You pick the days. Pay was good. Staff was great!
You have obviously never worked as a pharmacy tech
Can you rattle off from memory the top 200 frequently written drug names? Can you calculate the rate of an IV drip of a drug based on mixing it into different types of IV solutions based on mg/dL/kg? Have you ever had a report filed against you with your state's Board of Pharmacy because you dispensed a 3 month prescription of a drug and failed to notice that one of the packages was a different strength than the other two, potentially killing a patient? You don't have to have a BS degree to work as a PT.
You can say what you will - but you show how under educated about real business affairs in your posts.
Years of experience for newbies and having a tough time finding jobs? Not when I look at jobs offering 5 cpl and the caliber of the MTs who accept those positions, or when I look at the nationals who are raping the incoming MTs with their mentorship programs...or what the newly merged AAMT/MTIA organization is doing to change how to define a character line because of MQ's legal woes from fraudulent billing practices and the MTSO business leaders who hold positions in the MTIA are mostly offshoring corporate executives.
What our pay should be is no different than that of any other business in this global economy. Did you know that Microsoft has petitioned the US Government to lift the limitation on the number of work visas for highly trained foreign workers because they cannot meet employment demands based on available US similarly trained workers?
I don't even own a television and I feel a bit more educated in these things than you. Please don't preach to the choir. I understand you are trying to educate others, but you're argument has holes that a truck can drive through.
I worked for Med-Tech Resources many
years ago, went through their in-house OJT program, which was excellent bar none, but only worked for a short while for them because of another transcription opportunity presented to me closer to home (we had to work in-house then). They are a good company, have been around a long time, and I have one friend who has worked with them for years.
Would not hesitate to recommend Med-Tech Resources in Marietta, GA.
Yes, I had contacted tech support and that is how I found out to try the adapter but it never worked
I just wish I knew why they dont just do away with the 9-pin and just either go with a 15-pin or USB.. the 9 is a dinosaur.
