Chronicle Transcripts. Just started and
I absolutely love it. QA is very helpful and it's a nice change to work with QA who works along with me instead of against as I've had in other companies. The office has been very helpful while I adjust to the new job. I almost didn't go with this company based on prior posts here but I'm glad I did. I'm very happy with this company.

I've worked for Chronicle Trasncripts for over 5 years and love every aspect of my job. I find the platform easy to use and in fact it is being upgraded as we speak.
The support offered by Chronicle is excellent, in my opinion. You get feedback from their QC Dept and they have a mentoring program for additional support.
Plenty of work, good pay, good benefits.

They're certainly a nice group, but may be a little manipulative as well. Not unlike a lot of companies, they seem to expect that the company's needs come first and your life comes second. Don't be shocked when they call you at times when you are not scheduled. The QA can be a little condescending, or at least seems that way in email. The platform stinks (APEX); really difficult to get a decent line count, plus it had the habit of breaking down at least once daily, often in the middle of a report. If you have nothing else to do with your time and you don't really need a lot of money, and you do transcription because you just really LOVE it and would rather transcribe than do just about anything else, including sleep, then they are very pleasant to work for; however, if you want to work your set schedule and not be bothered on off hours, this company may not be a good fit for you.

I am scheduled for a telephone interview with Chronicle Transcripts next week. Do they require you to have any special equipment outside of Windows XP, 512 mb, USB port footpedal, sound card to hear the audio files? I know most companies do not require anything other as stated above, but I thought I may have read somewhere they required something in addition.
Just wanted to know if I have everything I needed, if they offer me a job.

I have 3 job offers right now, one of which is Chronicle. Can anyone offer any insight about working for them? What benefits do they offer? Are they easy to work with? What were your complaints? Was there steady work? Do they overwork you?

Chronicle Transcripts - anyone have any info
about them. I passed their prequalification test (a 2-year-old could have) and am now proceeding to THE ONLINE TRANSCRIPTION TEST! Wish I knew what they paid. Probably 3 cpl with a review in 3 years if I have a 105% accuracy.

Interesting. Chronicle Transcripts in
California uses the same platform the other posters here mention (APEX). I stayed for 2 months and finally called it a day. It was horrible, always breaking down, slow, the dictionary isn't even a standard medical dictionary. Are Chronicle and Transolutions the same company or related does anyone know?

Any current Chronicle Transcripts MT's?
I left soon after starting with them a while ago because they didn't have enough work. They are advertising again saying lots of work available. I had to buy Word 2003 the first time only to find out it wasn't enough work to keep busy. Have things changed? Do they have enough work for everyone? Is the same rude QA woman still there? Same platform (uses Word 2003)? Any info would be appreciated.

the issues I had (disorganization, a very negative QA experience, horrible platform, bad dictators) still exist which means it wasn't 100% my fault it didn't work out. I often wondered what happen with them and now I see. Some things never change. I should add they didn't have a recruiter back then or at least I don't think they did.
Starting with Chronicle Transcripts. Any
advice? I really weighed the decision against posts I read here and my gut feeling after interviewing. I'm hoping I made a good decision. Has anyone started there recently and find it is a good fit for them?

I also just started with Chronicle and
Apex platform too and there is always TONS of work. The trainer also is the QA person and is I deal with and has been extremely helpful. She's always available to answer my questions. It's a nice change to work for a company that has a QA person that works with me and is available. The platform is ok and I haven't had any problems with it. It's nothing fancy and pretty basic. The demographics preload with the report and you only fill in the DOS so there's not a lot of time wasted on demographics which I like. So far I'm happy there.
I started at Chronicle recently and
my experience so far has been very pleasant. There is an abundance of work and I have a QA person who has been so patient with me so far. This is also the person who trained me. I found the training to be very informative. About 2 hours into my first shift I was so confused and I IM'd QA. I was able to speak with her by telephone and she walked me through the problem I was having and she told me to contact her again if there was still a problem or any problem at all. I've never had this kind of QA availability in any other company I've worked for. I've receive feedback that was both informative and non-demeaning. From these posts there must be different accounts and different platforms. I guess I am lucky to be on the good account?

I have only been with KS for 9 months but would never put them in the same catagory as the others you mentioned. They are the best company I have worked for, and unfortunately, I have bounced around a little in the last 5 years.

Rapid transcripts still have not paid me my salary. It has been almost a year since the last paycheck and now they are not answering my emails. DO NOT WORK for this company. They owe me $1662.50
I have been in contact last with Sonja Sacoleman and Winston from the accounting department but now they are ignoring my emails and even blocked my address.

Newbie, I have worked for Chronicle Transcripts for 5 years and think you should look no further. I have found them a great company to work for, with good benefits. As for being overworked versus steady work, the work is steady; I have hardly ever been without work. As with any company, you would of course be expected to diligently work your shift, but I do not consider that being overworked, I consider that being responsible. So if you're responsible, love being an MT, and are looking for a great company to grow with, Chronicle would definitely be the place!

Sounds like a disgruntled one to me. I've worked for Chronicle for over 7 years and have never had any problems with anyone who works there. They don't play games, pay well, and always have work. They do expect you to produce quality work and be dependable.
