I received a call from someone
today who I thought was Landmark as I had sent them a resume some time back, and she said Landmark at the beginning of the conversation. Later on in the conversation I found out Landmark had given them my resume. It was for a place called Cornerstone in Wyoming. There are openings for ER accounts, Chartscript experience required. You might give them a try. Maybe that will help get you into Landmark though my wanting to work there has changed since I found out they are in the practice of giving (or selling) resumes.
The pay was pitiful (or so I thought) for an IC position (8 cents). They said they were flexible on the hours, but you had committed hours.
I can see how people take low paying jobs though if they need the experience, but it does effect the rest of us. These companies will keep going as low as they can. They have no bottom so pretty soon it will look like we are doing community service.
Received telephone call from Jim?
I also received a phone call from Jim the hiring person. I never responded back. I better think second thoughts on this job. Sounds like you were totally ripped off.
I have received no email about such conference call.
Where did you get that from, and who sent it out. Give initials, pls. I got missed somehow.
I received a phone call from MDI mgt. about my questionnaire answers and told ICs must by E/O ins.

It's longer than the "standard" 65-char. line so will take you longer to make those lines!
m
Since you no longer work there
But if you need to keep repeatedly posting about your bad experience there, go ahead, its a free country. I was speaking of my current work volumes there, to another current employee. My post was not addressed former employees, and I made no mention of the validity of your past experience, so I don't understand why you felt the need to respond to my post. As you said, not everyone has the same experience, and I understand that...do you?
I no longer work there, but there was a lengthy
discussion about them just a few weeks ago. If you'll click on your original post and near the bottom click on the related posts you should see the posts. You can also check the archives.
I'm no longer there, but lack of work was
an issue for me, though I don't think it is an across the board problem. I think my account was just overflow and the hospital could say don't pull any work for xx days. It was often 3 days, sometimes more than a week with no work at all for that account. I finally did get a backup account but hated the platform it was on and couldn't make any lines. There are no guarantees with any job as they lose accounts, sometimes there are technical issues on either end, and currently I think the economy has slowed things down to some degree too.
This was longer ago than that and they were able to hire New Yorkers. I don't work there, either.

Explain to me how the work goes to the people who have been there longer?? sm
I've been at TT less than 3 months, have not run out of work for more than an hour, and have never had a problem meeting and surpassing the required line count.
I've been with them far, far longer than you, and believe me, work is not bountiful. You are very
One year, big deal. You have no idea. You won't be happy for very long.
My figures exactly, and I have to work longer to achieve
nm
I've decided that I'm not going to work for them any longer. sm
I never signed anything that obligated me to the fee. That's the point. I only found out with the direct deposit printout, and I had to then question the expense. I've been an IC for years, and never have I been asked to pay for the use of the software a company installed on my computer. I provide my computer to use, yes, but a company has to supply the software, and no one has ever required a charge for that. I should have been afforded the opportunity at interview to either accept or reject the job based on that requirement. Since the subject of a license fee was never broached during the interview process and the contract did not specify that I would pay for a license fee, I accepted the position based upon the contract terms. As far as they have a right to charge since I am an IC, I feel they have no right that is not specified within the contract boundaries. Am I wrong with this thinking?
I hope it gets better! Can't afford to sit here much longer with no work. nm

If you no longer work there, you don't know what you are talking about. My stub came sm
the day after my deposit last pay period. The period before, it was the same day.
They do care about us, and as I just went through a family tragedy, I was shown just how much they care.
I no longer work there … kinda glad now. Sorry to see the changes that have happened. nm

You work longer AND harder and the work is
??
You got your W2 already? I work there but haven't received (sm)
mine yet. I was hoping to get it as an attachment to print out also and not have to wait for it to come in the mail.
I would go back. The factors that made it difficult to work there before are no longer there
Clear expectations, documented style guide, friendly and helpful staff from the top down, consistent QA. They put in writing what they expect and if you do your thing within those expectations, you will thrive!
(I'm only a lowly MT, not anyone in a position to profit from these statements!)
I don't work there but info that I have received includes ... SM
I don't know if they have clinic work. However, if you are an experienced MT, I would think that they would hire you even if you don't do ops. They use Doc-Q-Scribe (sp?) for at least one of their big hospital accounts out of Atlanta. They offer benefits, but I have heard that the health insurance is very expensive. I would imagine that they are hiring.
I used to work for the owner years ago when she had another service, and she had the same right-hand man (er, lady LOL) as she does now. They were always very good to me, and I really wish I still worked for her though I have a good job now somewhere else.
Good luck, and I hope this helps somewhat. Post back and let us know how it goes.
I work for them (DeVenture)....
and have since they took over a smaller local transcription service several years ago.
Personally, (and I'm totally not sucking up here) this job has been a godsend to me for so many reasons. I really enjoy this whole typing at home gig and don't know how I could live in this state (Maine) without it.
However, I do believe they are pretty strict about hours. If you say you are going to work a certain time, you will be expected to be working during that time. They will insist you run Microsoft Instant Messenger so they can reach instantly you if they need to...admittedly that is kind of hard to deal with sometimes.
They do offer incentives that increase as your weekly line counts increase. I don't think they offer a 401k, but I could be mistaken. I can barely afford the health insurance for my husband and I, which we desperately need, so I don't really look at any of the extras. I can get back to you on that.
They provide software and I believe a pedal, but you need to have your own computer equipment. I haven't needed training on anything in particular for a long time now, so I can't comment on that, but their SHINE interface for downloading wav files is incredibly easy. Level I stuff, the stuff I have encountered, is a breeze to type (SOAP notes). I do mostly level II stuff but fill in where necessary, so I don't see why down the road someone couldn't upgrade so long as they have the skills, but I don't want to put words in my mouth so don't quote me on that ;)
All in all, I have been very happy working here and have no intention of switching. I did a few years ago when they just came on-line, as there were very few accounts and I was literally starving for lines. However, they seem to be getting bigger every month and the work has been coming in left and right! I really haven't had any problems and have no complaints from my end of it :)
DO NOT WORK FOR DEVENTURE
They do not pay! Have been looking for my pay for 2 pay periods. They promised to overnight it, but still have not received it. They also hire, don't have enough work and then fire. I have filed a claim with my local Labor Commission because if you work, you should be paid on your pay date.

I currently work at DeVenture and love it...sm..
I am on an eScription account and make a good salary (8.4 cpl transcription and 4 cpl editing adds up fast even though it doesn't sound like a lot). Don't know about any incentives, must be on the other platform. It is my best transcription job to date and I have been quite a few places!
Don't work for DeVenture but when our accounts are
low my company does not kick us out, but the facility does so there is enough work for their inhouse people. This is common.
Deventure is not a good place to work
QED pays weekly. Not a great place to work though; neither is Deventure.
I don't get any other work type after OPs. I call in to see if they
are backed up on other accounts that they need help with. I have 4 accounts and when they run out I call. I AM NOT CHERRYPICKING. I am doing what I am given!!
I would call her ASAP rather than sit without work. nm
,
Promised to call you to start work?
I'm sorry, but as a recruiter it's hard to believe that a company looks at your testing and assumes that you'll buy in to what they're selling before having a long discussion between the two of you. Something's fishy here.
Call the office and hopefully they will follow up with more work. nm
x
But could you just not turn on computer that day and NOT do the work. Or could you call and say
:+
I guess that is what they call work ethic - sm
But even though it is hard, it depends on what is most important to you, cooking, cleaning, doing laundry, or earning a living. When I first started this work at home, I told myself that I would do anything and I mean anything, to be successful. Even if it meant working until midnight, and believe me, there have been times when I HAVE worked until midnight and beyond, just to meet my TAT, but I did it. I work in my living room, where it is bright and airy. No TV. No radio or music. No distractions. I screen my phone calls and only answer the ones I know are important. I have injured friends' and family's feelings when they think that just because I am at home, I have time for their whims. I just look at it like it is a job just like any other. If I were in an office somewhere, I would not have time for cooking, cleaning, laundry, TV, etc. and the same applies at home. It is all in how much you want out of this. Working at home is not for everybody, but it works for me. Self-discipline, I guess. Good Luck to you. :^)
they call you if you don't work your schedule shift
nm
Ran out of work, they wouldn't return email or call...see msg
They wouldn't contact me back or answer my calls. Four days later they finally got back with me to tell me to be patient. I specifically asked when I took the position if running out of work was ever a problem.
call attorney general and do not work until paid
that is BULL
I just do my work and when rumors crop up call and ask. Simple as that...
too much panic and speculation makes for an unproductive day.
Did anyone call about the STAT ortho work on the job board? Thanks. (nm)

I definitely want to work.. but not for them. I have found great place to call home where you get..
what you are promised as far as work, pay, and the communication is excellent. MDI-FL should take a few lessons from some of these other companies and you'd have more happy employees. There are far too many team leaders and management out there trying to save face for MDI..obviously.. The rave reviews are NOT from the MTs trying to work for a living.
I know we have clinic work but not sure about the Part time. Call a recruiter. nm
.
Yes, call waiting works. I also have call forwarding from my home line
NM
You can call it greed, I call it feeling like
I am back in the 80s with the money I am pulling in. SS, retirement check and my paycheck, cha-ching. Not planning on taking it with me, never. Love to travel and have 4 places planned for this year. High maintenance lady here. Ta-Ta.
It's been longer than that for me.
I tend to get stuck with a lot of terrible dictations most of the time, which I don't understand either, but maybe that has something to do with why I can't get a decent line count. Every time I get on the system to work, there's always some horrible dictation skipped from earlier in the day just waiting for me. Just got done with a dictation that was 9 minutes long, but took me over 30 minutes to type due to being inaudible in spots and just basically a horrible dictation overall. I didn't even get 100 lines out of it either!!
no longer there but.
Had trouble getting paid on time.
Not for much longer.
I knew going in they were not paying for headers and footers, but did not realize they were going to take the percentage off the total line count. The headers/footers only account for about 5 to 10 lines per report, so they have quite a little scam going.
Whatever, they are no longer there anyway. nm
:+
Not much longer to be an MT
Medical transcription is going the way of the dinosaurs. Voice recognition is coming in fast now. We will be editing for awhile until they perfect it and feed the corrected copies back into the VR engine to train it to understand all the docs. I would give this field 5 more years maybe. We all have to move on and find something else unfortunately:(
Longer than others for me
I think it took them a week and then I didn't even get a pass/fail but a link to go on to the next test, which seemed to be some kind of personality profile. By that time, I had hired on with another company that was my first choice.
No longer a CMT
I WAS a CMT for over 20 years, it never got me any more money, it cost me to re-certify, cost me to go to seminars for CEC's, I had one company I worked for tell me I could only go to the National Convention for 2 days and I would only be paid if I worked their booth for those two days, so what was the use of going if I was going to be stuck in a recruitment booth insead of learning at any of the seminars? I still kept plugging away spending my time and money to keep that CMT behind my name. Then my mom passed away, in all the work of getting her estate settled, condo sold, etc. I forgot to send in my fee and CEC's verification slips. When I realized it had slipped my mind I called and wrote them a letter explaining the circumstances and that I had all the CEC's earned. Even offered to send a copy of the death cert. Their reply....too bad...so sad pay again to take the certification Test. NOT
Call them. I have lots of work, had lots of work
during the holidays too. I don't know who routes the work, but one of the office people is on vacation this week. I occasionally have to call to get work depending on what hours I'm working, but I have never not gotten work when I've asked for it.
The longer MQ MT is on DQS, the less lines
we get. There is no "getting used" to the program that is taking our line counts. Very familiar with DQS, have all normals/short cuts in place, very fast typist, and DQS "eats up lines". MedRite did not do that to us. Why do you think MQ changed to DQS ? -- so that the MT's would get more lines per hour ? NOT !
Katie is no longer there either

If she's no longer there how will she see it? Ditto for
