Just be aware that not all Escription accounts pay the same. I worked for one company on Escription
struggling to maybe make $50 in 8-10 hours. I didnt know the difference as that was my first job on that platform and I just thought it was not a money maker. Then, I switched companies. I average $20-30 an hour and once I made $50 in an hour. I tried yet another company and I was lucky to make $9 an hour. The bottom line is that not all companies are alike, even though they use the Escription platform. What I have found is that goes according to how they set it up i.e. paying for footers, headers, spaces etc. Just dont be shocked if you dont make what you think you will. The companies know how to set it to where it benefits them and not you. As is the norm, not all companies are created equal out there regardless if they all use the same platform. That is what I am getting out.. Good luck.
Webmedx fits that bill, great company, great benefits, great pay and always on time. NM

Started small; great company. Rapid growth; not so great company
First year I was there was like heaven. Then the big growth spurt when they hired managers from another company (that I had run away from before because of their bad management) and let them kind of take over. Although I have no proof it was as though I got 'bumped' by these new people when they came in and I lost a good account, good manager, etc. My paycheck went down every month lower and lower, and it became harder and harder to make my minimal lines. Having any kind of advocate was nonexistent.
It depends on you and what kind of MT you are. Seems to me there are pretty much 2 types...
Sports like basketball where you have the pros who play with finesse, and then you have street players who think it is all about physical strength, period. More and more the physical strength is winning but the art of the game gets lost more and more...
As in this country where there are almost 2 sides now, those with intellect and thoughtfulness, and those who think the only way to be strong and be a leader is to beat up everyone who does not agree with you...and force your will on others.
Suffice it to say in my opinion WMX changed its philosophy of the way it treated employees and lost its heart when it grew, and it was literally almost overnight...
If you are a mass producer who has no care of what it takes to make money, if you are a 'street fighter' then it would probably be for you because you WILL have to fight for everything. Fight for the right account, fight for lines, fight to be treated fairly, etc. If you appreciate MTing for the art of MTing or have any kind of joy for the profession, my guess is you will not make it there very long...
This is happening all throughout the what used to be called profession. Seems to happening all through everything these days. Humanity and heart are being pushed down to the bottom...
4c is great for eScription
Yes. Four cents a line is great with eScription. I can do over 4000 lines per day, but I only get 3.9 cents per line. I really like editing with eScription. It takes a month to get used to.
Pay is not great for escription.
7.75/3.5 for 90 days and then 8/4. The 8/4 is about average, although I've had accounts that paid much better.
Using Escription, great VR tool
and I worked about 8 hours and 15 minutes for that, had to finish up my final report for the day. No tips. I use my mouse (which all are told to use the hot keys) and I just can keep up with VR as fast as it goes either VR or straight which I also do sometimes.
Escription VR is great with ESLs
and thank goodness because there are scads of them now. As far as doubling production, I would not go along with anyone who says this, very hard to double what you made in straight typing. I did at least 2000 lines straight per day and I would say after 4 years of VR probably have done 4000 maybe 3-4 times total. I use the mouse, most places try to discourage but I can type along with audio either VR or straight so using the keys to me makes no difference in how much I can actually do. I do some straight but tough to actually double on VR.
Great company, great boss, great account!!!nm

You are pathetic! I have a great life, loving family, work for a great company.
You might want to fix that.
You really don't have to shout (angry person), but yes you are wrong!!
That is my last word to you!
I will add that getting a great pay check every other Friday from Medware really puts a huge smile on my face.
It's a great company -- lots of work and great pay. sm
Web site is www.mditrans.net. If you need anymore info, feel free to ask.
AXOLOTL - A GREAT COMPANY WITH GREAT INSURANCE
Axolotl has AWESOME, AFFORDABLE insurance. Family plan medical and dental costs a little over $300.00 MONTHLY. They also pay for family plan vision in its entirety. STD, LTD, 401K with match and flex spending account, great PTO and HOLIDAY pay. OH and paid downtime in the case you run out of work, which doesn't happen often!!!
Need a new company using escription.
I'm tired of running out of work with my current employer. Anyone working for someone using the Escription platform that is hiring and has an abundance of work?
Best escription company
Can someone tell me out of all the companies that are out there that use escription who pays the best in regards to VR and then straight typing, when you have to type. Thanks.
What is the best Escription company?
I would so love to get back to a company who uses this platform and has good accounts. If anyone knows of a company that fits the bill, please post or email me. TIA
Great company, great boss....
I use to work there. The dictators on my account were really good. They use Emdat/Inscribe. Pay on 1st and 15th by direct deposit.
Great company. I've been recommending this company for a long time.
x
Great little company..I worked there for a short time, IC, and pay always on time, great owner too!
I had good dictators, they use FTP, and I had a 12-hour window to return the work.
Work volumes....
Work volumes have been pretty low across the board. We were told at a town hall meeting last month that they would be recruiting MTs from within the company to work on these new accounts that are coming on board soon in order to solve low work volumes many of us have been encountering. It's not very comforting to hear that they are doing exactly what they promised not to do (hire new MTs for these accounts).
Proscript low volumes
Anyone else get the e-mail about low volumes at Proscript and what do you think?
Proscript low volumes
Proscript has just had layoffs for no work.
FOCUS WORK VOLUMES
I just wanted to add that I find plenty of work if I work between 5pm and 11pm, eastern time. If I want to work during the daytime, say between 8am and 5pm, the queues are often empty (3 of them). There was one time that I logged in at 4am, and I found the queues all empty at that time as well.
Good luck.
That speaks volumes for the respect MTs have for
NM
My experience was low pay, low work volumes
But they were very nice. Unfortunately, nice doesn't pay the bills. :/
I have noticed low volumes but so far no emails. sm
Maybe it depends on your account.
QA is good, they are fair - DSG not the only one with low volumes
Some days I think the industry itself is in a death spiral... there certainly has been a yo-yo effect for a while now on volume.
My suggestion is that people start looking in other directions at least for back up/part time income. I could be wrong but I just don't see a reversal happening in this industry.
Not only is VR working against us, it will only improve with time - and possibly to an extent that will even reduce VR positions. Likely more software is in development that will further erode job opportunities and/or drive down wages.
Outsourcing is playing a huge role as well.
Not to create or add to anyone's panic, but read the writing on the wall before it's too late - diversify your skills and don't put all your eggs in the transcription basket, cuz me thinks there's an egg-sized hole in the bottom. insert wry smiley face here.
Unless she can provide large volumes of
eventually the big co's with their guerilla business tactics will stomp on her little business, too.
Low work volumes, horrible sound
What is going on with Transcend?
I am about to leave also and I never thought I'd see myself type that!
actions and attitudes speak volumes
....
My experience is work volumes fluctuate SM
but fairly predictably, and a full shift is virtually always available IF you choose to adapt work schedule for those days and periods when work is plentiful.
Until recently health benefits were available for a 36-hour workweek, now it's a 40-hour work week with some flexibility.
Working that full schedule, though, a skilled MLS (medical language specialist) with a well-developed and used Expander who is familiar with the assigned accounts can make good money, and many do. The incentive bonus schedule is quite good and rewarding to high producers.
Percentage of ESL is quite high, but they're as doable as any others once familiarity with their dictation is achieved (typically they know we can't understand them and try to vary as little as possible from their standard verbage).
WebMedx specializes in mid-sized community medical centers. No Cleveland Clinics or UCLA MC here, which is the biggest drawback I know of, really the only one, with this company. This type of workload does contribute to getting that high-line-count familiarity, though. Accounts and formats are typically easy to learn, with relatively little in the way of fussy individuality to keep track of.
I do believe WebMedx is genuinely trying to get and hold onto good people by treating them well. Absolutely no complaints in that regard in all the time I've worked there.
So, welcome, NN, and best wishes on your decision, Decision. :)
Small company GREAT COMPANY
Axolotl is a WONDERFUL company with great benefits and competitive pay. We have maybe 100 MTs but are growing rapidly.
Your positive attitude speaks volumes! Good for you! sm
I worked for JLG in the past and it was a stable, quality company. There are always bumps in the road for everyone--even for companies.
I wonder if these students aren't doing some Webmedx dictation already with work volumes as they
It ain't all the economy. They are either OVERHIRING incredibly or the work is going somewhere else. Definitely. They should have the decency to be straight with us.
Great company!
I am very happy working for MDI. I have worked for them full time for a few years and part time before that. It is a great company to me and it's very easy for me to be able to call and talk to my TL or anyone above her if I have an problems/concerns/questions. There are lots of negative postings about them on this site, but have not had the bad experiences that they have had. My experience has been nothing but positive!!!!
Great company! (sm)
Good pay, good accounts, flexibility, best MTSO I have ever worked for in my 20 years as an MT. Just started with them a little over a month ago, & couldn't be happier! IC status only, though, but that's not a problem for me. Anything else I can tell you, just let me know
They are a great company!
QA'd their work for a short while, but it was a second job and couldn't keep up working 2 jobs, so quit at JLG. They are a small, family-like company. The owner is an MT and has had offers to sell out to the big boys. but she loves her company and her employees and will not sell out. If you have a chance to work for them, you will not be sorry!
GREAT company...sm
They are friendly staff as stated, pay is good, but no benefits. But the pay, plenty of available work, and understanding of the company makes up for lack of benefits. I have had family illness over the past several months and they have been understanding. I feel bad for not being as dependable as I was when I first started, but they have really hung in there for me, so I am hoping to return the favor and help them out as much as I can. GREAT company. You cannot go wrong. I was thinking about looking for another job because they have no benefits, but they are just too good to risk that. So, never again, will I even think about that. You will not go wrong with them. I have been with them almost one year and they are as nice as they were from the beginning!
Great company.
I actually wanted to work for them, but I failed their online quiz. The question lines and answer boxes were so close together, I am sure I marked the wrong boxes just because it was impossible to differentiate one question from another. I have been an MT for 18 years. I knew the answers to every one of those questions, except for maybe 1 or 2 I was confused on. I don't know if it was timed or not. If it was timed, maybe that is why I failed. I did the test in between phone calls. Good luck with that!
Great company
I have worked with them since the company started and they have been GREAT!! I can give you names of LOTS of other MTs that agree.
you will see bad listings about them on here but think about the people that it is from--fired and mad people.
AccuStat pays on time and the people are just great to work with.....I can't express that enough!!!
great company
AccuStat is a great company in my opinion. They know your name and do not treat you like a number. Their pay is on time. Their managers are great and their accounts are good too. They are simply a great company to work for.
TRS seems to be a great company
I was slated to start with them. I accepted the position and then decided not to go with them because I could not afford to live with the salary offered. I spoke with Kathy after I decided not to take the position and she seems very honest, polite, and interested in the MTs. I did not have a bad experience, I just declined the position because I could not afford to live with the salary offered.
Great company
I have been with Meridian since October. I get wonderful feedback, great QA people. Pay is every 2 weeks and very fair. I am on MedRite and I love it here.
They are a great company sm
Super flexible scheduling, very nice people to work for, and I always have work. I use EX Text, and I personally do about 7000 lines every two weeks. I do not remember what the line requirement is. I do not know if they are hiring, but I am extremely happy here.
Great company.
They are very employee friendly. I know they are going through some management changes, but show me a company that does not. The owner is an excellent person to work for and takes care of his employees as long as you do what is asked. I would recommend it highly if you are offered a position!!
Great company
I have also been there several years. No complaints.
Good QA people. Steady work.
Pay on time. Good people to work with and to work for. I have been to their office and met all the QA people. Have met the owner personally.
great company
s
This a great company. What is the sm
use of saying run, run without giving any other info? It's a waste of a read. I worked for TN and they are wonderful people and always paid on time. The best place I have ever worked. I left due to health reasons.
Great company
I have been with them since March, they are a very fair and honest company to work for. I have had no problems with them. Absolutely no complaints here
DSG great company
DSG is a great company to work for--I have been there for a couple years...I believe it must be one of the best!
Great company....
and NO I am NOT management, or recruiting, or anything like that. I am an MT....been working for them for quite awhile. They are an excellent fit for me.
Lots of ESLs - yes. IC only - I think so; check with them about it though. Direct Deposit - always correct and always on time. Platform - it is their own and is Word based, so if you are familiar with Word you would be all set. Managers are very kind and helpful, answer questions almost immediately. QA - I have seen some posts on this board that were negative about their QA but I really dont have much contact with QA. I am familiar with my accounts, I do my work, and they leave me alone and put my paycheck in my checking account every other week. I also like that they do not beg and plead and hound us to death to get work done when it gets backed up. Yes, they let us know; yes, they send out emails; yes, they say they STILL need help; but there are no phone calls or IMs or *guilt*. It is just - if you can help, please do, we need you. Also, the workflow group are great. They seem to have a handle on their job and do it well.
But no company is perfect.....so......what would be the cons to FN? Running low on work. This seems to happen when they are ready to take on new accounts. It SEEMS that they hire in anticipation of new accounts and put new hires on present accounts until the new accounts start dictating. Work may be low at those times. BUT THIS IS ONLY MY IDEA...I dont know if that is what actually happens. I think the last time I was low on work was, maybe last Spring.
Also, the work seems to get slow the weekend before we turn in our invoices. I think MTs are trying to get in their lines for the pay period. I dont know for sure, of course, but that is MY GUESS. So what I do is make sure I get my lines in the Friday before the weekend before invoices so that is there is little work that Saturday and Sunday, I can take time off and not sweat it.
It works for me.
What a great company DRC was?
Do you really think they care about the lowly MT who is so offended? Doubt it. They're laughing all the way to the bank baby!
