Funny, I missed that one. At least she used it correctly once, LOL. nm

I guess I could have missed a number, but thought I dialed it correctly nm

Am I seeing correctly, already doing VR and
they are cutting your pay from an already low to a lower rate??
Around $300-$350 for both of you, if I remember correctly -
I've only been there 1-1/2 months. You have to wait 3 months before you're eligible for insurance, but your PTO they say you can use anytime. I'm so surprised how fast it adds up. I already have about $200 PTO.
Hope that helps. Good luck.
If I remember correctly, the pay is about 3-5 cpl and
they use a system I was unfamiliar with. I declined their offer.
But hey, if it suits you, go for it.
Yes, you read it correctly - sm
The platform is fairly basic.
They have made some huge improvements in it since I started editing on it but there is still some room to improve.
As with any other program, you can expect a learning curve so it's really about finding a way to make it work for you.
I have been seeing some improvement in my production (baby steps) but it would be really nice if I was at least making what I was before with just transcribing. I'm not, in case that wasn't clear.
Not to put the entire blame on the platform, I need to readjust my thinking and approach to getting my work done. It's different.
I have been very happy with Transcend for a long time. They are listening, even if sometimes they don't appear to be. It just takes a little time for them to figure out what needs to be changed in order for us (MLSs) to get our jobs done faster and easier.
Like I said, I'm trying to be patient because the last platform switch (when we went to VoiceScribe) was kind of a mess for about a year before it was really working smoothly but it turned out pretty darn good too. I still have hope for editing on this BT platform.
Spell correctly.
Maybe their line rate was low because you couldn't type well. It is atrocious
or get paid correctly. nm

Not paid correctly
One of the companies I have worked for for almost a year has never paid me correctly. Sometimes, it is only by a few dollars, but others, it is quite a bit. I asked them about it a few months ago and was told something like all the work you do doesn't always get over to us. I didn't really understand this, but for some reason, just blew it off at the time. Well, my last check was a little over $100 short from what the system said it should have been. When I tried to confront them about it, they won't answer my emails or the person I need to talk to is always out of the office or not able to talk. This just really makes me mad and just wanted to know if anyone else has had this problem.
Yes, CORRECTLY. Redundant.
nm
If I am understanding you correctly,
companies have no business wanting an accurate report?? There is nothing wrong with requiring 98% quality in a report. If you are a good MT, it doesn't matter how long or short the report is, it will be accurate and meet the standards for you company or facility, that is, if you want to keep a job anywhere.
If I recall correctly...
We ran out of work once while I was on that account, and they paid for no work downtime at an hourly rate. If anyone is really interested, I would speak with the recruiter because I believe they do pay for no work available and technical downtime.
you said it correctly. In this business sm
you work when the work is there or you don't work. Its a part of the job. I never liked the weekends either but hubby and I worked around them and adjusted things so one of us was always with the kids.
Sounds like MTs now want tons of money, the 9-5 shift and nothing to enter their little world. That is great but it is not the profession. I wouldn't expect a nurse or a doctor to say they don't want to work weekends or any other medical professional so what makes us any better? If the work is there at odd hours and you work on production then you work when the work si there or don't work!
If you need benefits, you chose correctly.
z
In their defense, if I remember correctly, their name
was very similar to at least 1 other and possibly 2 other transcription companies. I don't know if that was the reason for the change or not.
Then spell stupid correctly.
x
Wait, am I understanding you correctly? ... sm
Are you saying that the work flow is up and down like this a lot? I'm a relative newbie to the company and I was told that they always had an abundance of work. I'm a little in shock right now.
Think I could have spelled "thing" correctly.....LOL. NM

If I understand the article correctly,
the records were stolen FROM a Transcriptionist who was subcontracting, not BY a transcriptionist, probably as a result of a computer being stolen or a home break-in, although the article did not say. It seems the only way to prevent this type of records breach would be to keep all transcriptionists in-house. Or am I missing something?
And she doesn't even spell her name correctly
lol
If you had bothered to read correctly- it said
Some years ago working inhouse and my having seniority and supposedly had first choice at vacation, the time I chose was a time another person with less seniority needed for a trip overseas. She had put in for the time I wanted and I was told like it or lump it and I did not have a choice in that week. Being as I was making good money, I just sucked it up and stayed there. HOW DO YOU GET SHE TOLD SOMEONE ELSE TO SUCK IT UP????? SHE WAS TALKING ABOUT HERSELF. READ CORRECTLY NEXT TIME.
You do not read posts correctly
I said I was starting work around 12 and was late. No one contacted me about my not being signed in. I never sent an email and did not say I did. Maybe that is why you don’t work for them anymore, reading something into things not there.
if you would read the posts correctly...sm
the *broom closet* statement was posted in the one above mine. I was just responding to hers, and I was trying to be funny about the mailorder bride thing. apparently you don't have a sense of humor either, on top of being rude.
It DID have a spellchecker, but a really poor one, if I remember correctly. nm
s
You heard correctly. I quit over a month ago, sm
and can't seem to get anyone interested in getting their computer back. Does that tell you anything???? Glad I left...what a mess that place has turned into after their supposed reorganization last year!
Folks really need to read the posts correctly....
Guess some are coming out from underneath that rock again. I asked others if they had to work for Christmas. Please get things right. I work the hours I want and AM NOT WORKING CHRISTMAS by choice. Hello... do you comprehend what you read???
Offshoring MT has been going on since the 1980s if I understand correctly. SM
It picked up big time in the 1990s, follow the money. It also has been done in prisons. When I first heard about that I was shocked, but it seems as nothing can shock me anymore.
I know about our tax returns being offshored, and things the above poster mentioned. I had to call a CC company the other day, and the call center was in India. I cut that CC up promptly (probably to my benefit anyway, LOL), and I know a lot of computer call centers are in India.
I wish I had an answer for all this. I know it's a global economy. We are going to have to adapt and it's scary.
As far as the AAMT or whatever it's called now, that is very disappointing. The word American shouldnt even be in their name.
Spelling correctly would help search function. nm
Oh, I read correctly. Apparently you're sm
not seeing the point - you accepted .075 cpl. YES, I understand clinic notes. You don't place much value on your skill apparently.
I wish people read these posts correctly.
I am amazed that people here do not read the postings correctly and assume and go on and on about something that was not said in the first place. NEVER was the person posting about her father dying told to suck it up, NEVER. Arent we all transcriptionists and we have to listen and transcribe correctly what is heard? I am totally amazed myself that this just went on and on and it was NEVER said to the person whose father died.
if I remember correctly, isn't that Spheris' India department?
Supposedly over 4000 employees, JUST for that India account, according to Advance Health Magazine...
Whatever company you work for, you should verify that it counts correctly. sm
Take the document, cut and paste it into Word, count it that way. No way I would take the word of a company or a program unless I can verify my lines.
I do not work for Keystrokes but had to give my 2 cents, whatever it's worth!
When nm guessed correctly, the moderator pulled that post too.
She guessed with a line from Romeo and Juliet without giving a name and that post was pulled too.
See last post; I didn't explain hours correctly
Nope, but if I remember correctly you have to do a physical and all that jazz wherever you are.
This was back in 2005 when Diskriter first landed the Florida hospital. I worked there and had to actually take a three page form to my doctor to fill out. I had to pay for my own urine drug screen and TB test administered for a local lab and provide the lab with a postage paid envelope to mail the results directly to the hospital in Florida.
I put up a fuss because I thought all that was a little much for a remote MT position, especially when you consider that I would probably never set foot inside the facility so who cared if I passed my physical and got a TB test?
Last word here - People here need to read a post correctly
I never told HER to suck it up. Why don’t you read postings correctly. Can you not make a distinction between me saying I JUST SUCKED IT UP as telling about my vacation and you saying something entirely different? What is the matter with the posters here? I am outta here for the afternoon. Everyone have a good time.
Docs can't be trusted to spell medical terms correctly much less a doc's name. NM

Re: The post asking if MTStars mods are MTSOs, Goldbird answered correctly.
I own the MTStars website and I have a team of 7 moderators and none of them are owners of transcription services, nor are they management of any transcription service. We have never had moderators in any transription ownership or management position since we went live many years ago. If anyone has any questions about this, you can email me directly at admin@mtstars.com. I have removed any posts other than the post Goldbird made responding to the original poster below so everyone is clear. Thank you.
Looks like you might have missed a
NM
Somehow I missed that.....SM
Was it this week's? For some reason, I didn't get it last week but got it the week before that. I just figured they didn't do one last week...... Most companies do have at least a few accounts on VR but I don't like it. I've been really happy at Amphion the last month and a half and thought I had found the company for me but that's just my luck - seems like at every company things will go good for about 8 months and then things change on you. Hope history doesn't repeat itself here.........
I got both. Were you missed somehow? sm
I did not reimbursed. I had a trial version and they gave me a new unlocking key. Wow. It's like we work for different companies. I think we are on the same account as I was on a conference call about the account when SH was mentioned. I got the cheat sheet instructions and license within a week. You really should call.
You missed it
The poster I was responding to, said that she always gets her 80 hours and her lines WITHIN her shift and that it is an easy thing to do. I asked how she does it when there is NO work. I am flexible, I have to be because of the lack of work. I was asking her to explain to us how she can get her lines and hours in on days when there is no work. Some days I am practically chained to the computer.
I missed that ad. (sm)
What happened with that?
I thought that it was odd that they were posting on an MT website.
Thanks so much!!
Uh, no. I'd say YOU missed the point.
The first poster said: "You could take someone off the street and that person WOULD be doing the best they could possibly do." Poster never said "could". The only way someone off the street WOULD be doing their best is if they got hired. The other person's opinion about companies not hiring someone off the street is correct in context.
I know for sure that I missed at least 3 questions - sm
They were sound alike words. I was nervous. However, I did very well on the written test and the transcription parts. I was offered a job, that I really did not expect after my verbal test. So, try not to worry too much about it. I think there are about 10 questions. Good luck!
well, apparently I have missed that.
Not a problem, though. Have a great day
you missed my point
poster did not ask who makes really great money. Yes, you are making what you make, yes that is real. To tell the poster that $50,000 year is decent is not realistic. Making $25,000 a year is decent and realistic. Do you understand?
Sorry, I missed the posts below. nm
x
I missed my son in a parade because
I had to work Memorial Day for Medscribe.
Maybe you missed your meds?
Where is the need for all the drama? This might come as a shock to you, but I don't memorize all posts.
But you weren't CALLING MY BLUFF, my friend, because I wasn't *bluffing.* The post about the bet was my attempt at humor, which apparently went right over your head...
No problem with your winning the bet(finally someone older than me!) Send me your name and mailing address via email and I'll be happy to mail you your $1.00!
LOL
P.S. In case you missed it...
I appreciated the information you posted, but I wasn't looking for someone to do this for me.
My style? What really is your problem? I was trying to gauge INTEREST, not pawn off the research...
why don't you put down your dukes for a second and reconsider the (mistaken) analysis you made of my posts.
Granted, I may not be all that, but I can tell you that they have probably missed out on a lot of
good quality MTs by dropping the ball and being so unprofessional. It wouldn't have been so bad if they would have said upfront that they wouldn't be making any hiring decisions soon. Instead, it was We are hiring immediately, please submit your information as soon as possible. I will follow up with you as soon as I receive your information. So, I did this..and NOTHING..even after a followup email. Ridiculous. They blew it.
