Should've looked there first, but love the forum here.
I hope I live to see the day that our industry turns completely back to the way it should be - without somebody else making money off of our skills, training, and experience.

Thanks anyway! It is amazing what one can find on Google when one remembers to use it LOL
found an answer in the archives!
I found some great posts in the archives, and they really helped. Phoenix MedCom sounds great!
Why don't you ask for a VR manual &
Learn something new every day!

What does manual typewriters have to do
x
TT management does not answer questions that you ask them; only answer those they want to answer.
I know, work for a long time and tried asking questions, but they just beat around the bush and don't answer the true question that you presented to them.
Maybe it is kite flying weather where you are !!!
I was 15 on a manual in high school....sm
And that was in 1964 - learned to type real well in that class on a manual......but I began MT'g with tapes and privately I still pick up tapes from 4 surgeons twice weekly, but I transcribe those tapes on the computer *lol*....
Good thing about the web is that most of us now find all we need to know today online and rarely reference our books anymore......I like that!! Saves some time....time is money!!
No, it is a manual time sheet (sm)
Bonus is paid on total for pay period, not hourly bonus. I never put potty breaks on it, just my lunch break, cause that's longer.
Keystrokes manual says 32-1/2 for "adjusted FT" (sm)
which looks like it qualifies for insurance. I think in acutal practice they go by the lines, though, as we don't clock in. It looks like that level is 10,000 lines per period and full time 15,000 (which is odd, I was told 12,000. I may need to ask about that!)
It is true - I looked at my manual
Manual states PTO hours are to be used for vacation, illness, family or personal matters, periods of low work volume and computer downtime. Employees are required to use these PTO hours to ensure a good personal balance between leisure-time, periods of low work volume, and those unexpected absences that affect everyone from time to time.
So yeah, they DO expect us to take PTO for OOW, per the manual.
You are still wrong, I'm sorry; that manual is from 2005 sm
All the managers sent out information saying it was at their discretion. Instead of posting here, why don't you just ask your manager if it is true?
In the manual it says we're expected
Its not a matter of can we use it, its we must use it. The company expects and demands it, which I think its utterly unfair since they deliberately overhire. They won't let us have the option of taking it unpaid - my supervisor recently reminded us of that. Therefore, if you have a vacation scheduled for next month, and you can't get your time in this month, kiss your vacation plans goodbye - you just spent your vacation chained to your desk hoping for work!
Webmedx's new policy manual?
Thoughts?
Is there an ExText manual available online?
nm
No, I was referring to the Webmedx Policy Manual. sm
Check the back where it lists privacy rules regarding the platform. I think what you posted crossed the line. Just a tip. You know, the bosses read these boards, too.
Dictaphone C-phone model 0422 manual sm
Does anyone have this user's guide/manual in pdf format they are willing to share? I went to the Nuance site, but I just do not have the Moolah to buy a manual right now as I am just starting a new job after being without a job for 4 months. Thanks
Worked for an MT service that had a mistake on the cover of Employee Manual (sm)
That is bad.
you fill out a manual report and email to payroll at end of pay period.
x
Pick a relatively short report and do a manual count of characters
including spaces if your company counts them. Then divide the total by 65 or whatever your lines are defined as. If there is a discrepancy between your manual count and their systematic count, you have a problem.
I did this recenty on ExText and find I am getting shorted about 1-2 lines per report.
Are you kidding and hoping htagt MTing will go back to manual typewriters again?...nm
nm
I can answer that question with a simple answer!
Strengths - none.
Weakness - all.
This is what I have found while looking for the right job - sm
I have one child still at home who will be going off to Kindergarten in a couple of years. I do not want to put my child in day care, so I need a job that provides an adequate window to be able to finish my work. I do 1000 lines per day, 5 days a week. I know that isn't a lot, but with a child at home with me during the day, that's the most I can do at this time. I have yet to find a company who will allow you to have employee status and flexibility with your schedule. Yes, you can generally pick your own schedule with most companies, but I just cannot say that I will be able to finish my work within an 8-hour period of time. That is why I am looking into FN at this time.
To each his own. I have found in all my
years of working at home that what one MT thinks is great, another thinks is not so great. The opinions of the company that I stated are my experience. It could be mine only. I am only trying to help.

I was not impressed, it took a long time to learn, and the training the pits.
OK, I found it
Thanks I will check that out!
I found some...
I finally found some fairly current posting about OSI. I had to go back to page 20 or so. However, if anyone wants to add anything new, I would love to read about it. Thanks.
What I found -
Most accounts have plenty of horrible ESL docs. There is also lack of work on a very regular basis. Pay is on time and seems to be correct. Communication, when there is any, is often rude, stinging, and nasty for no reason whatsoever other than *someone* is having a bad day. You decide for yourself.
Found it!!
Never mind, unless someone has updated information. I just did a search and found past posts on this company.
That's what I found odd..It was never really an ad..
It really was just someone on the job seeker's board, a Baspen or something saying that some company had contacted her about a traveling job and she was passing on the information. So, no company ever came and did an ad themselves, just supposedly an MT with information. The next thing you know, she is saying the position is filled Now, if she was only just an MT who was asked about a job she didn't want, what is her angle advertising on here for them. I found it odd and thinks this person solicited resumes for whatever reason. I am not sure why it was even allowed on the job board as I do not feel it was very legit.
Thanks! Found it.
I have to buy it. Thought someone could tell me how to delete words/lines at a time, etc.
Let me tell you what I have found about VR
I am on VR and thankful, very thankful a lot of the ESLs on there - the reason is their dictation actually comes out better on VR than hearing yourself. If they have a medication VR is really able to get in a way I never could have imagined. I would not worry about VR being able to get their voices- what I think will probably happen in your job is any and all dictators probably going to VR and then the money for transcribing drops, tremendously. A lot of places trying to do away with straight (the nationals) and get VR.
I have found it
by just typing in MD-IT Transcrip;ton Service. Their website came up.
Found it, is this it?
The company I have been working for for about a year decided they were not going to pay this pay period because they claimed they did not get paid because of bad transcriptions and they were looking to see who were behind the bad transcriptions and then pay next pay period, which is a month after the work is completed as it is. Also, the work has been under 100% QA, so how could there be bad transcriptions still getting through? Does anyone know if there are legal remedies, as they owe me three paydays if they decide to not pay me.
Think I found it
Do they hire employee or just IC?
I think I found it! Thanks!
I founds some discussion.
We only found out...sm
...in December. I'm sure the whole thing had been going on for a while, but they didn't tell us MTs until December and gave us about 2-3 weeks' notice. The conference calls were very helpful and informative, however. Made the whole process easire. My TL would always send us emails letting us know what was going on and what to expect...which was not much change from what we were doing already, except for how we report our time/lines. I just wish we didn't have to fill out all that paperwork again (W-4, I-9, etc.). The HIPPA and Transcend-specific paperwork I understand, but the others I wish would have just been transferred over. I'm not privy to how that process works, so I just do what I'm instructed to do.
Not sure about the not sending work to India thing. I believe that Transcend does send work overseas, but it's a small percentage from what they told us.
found it. thank you so much. nm

After 26 yr doing this I have found..
that if a co is paying this way, they are not paying well... the better companies are up front and do it by 65 char line.. no confusin formulas :)
wish I could have found you when sm
I was hiring MTs several years ago!
I would think by now you would have found another job.
Wasting time complaining here.
Here is what I found on ANP ....
I don't know this company and have not seen an ad posted for them, however, when I goggled them I found these 2 sites that are extremely alarming for anyone that would want to apply with them ....
http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/0/334/RipOff0334462.htm
http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/0/173/RipOff0173596.htm
While these reports are older, it does send up warning flags, in my opinion.
found a little more...
I would recommend, once again, just using the words of: 'company name' acquisition 'company name'

I think I found it but....
It is for sales not for a transcriptionist.
... I found myself a new job NOT MT, but
I probably wouldn't trust the offer you just threw out there. Cynical MT that I am! It looks like something I'd see on a telephone pole (and used to see, make $30,000 in your spare time doing medical transcription!
No offense, just how it struck me.
The only link I found
http://www.webnow.com/stattransinc
I found a macro to do this for you.
This is the link to the entire discussion and the macro for Word, but since there are several macros to do it, you can go and copy it and decide which one you want.
